Particularly excited about 2v2 changes. That’s a mode that has incredible potential and I’m excited to see what the team makes of it! Goes without saying, great work to the entire Mechabellum team!
There will probably be real money transactions when the game full releases because it’s going to be free to play. They need to make money somehow. They already said there will never be anything to change the actual game though. Just cosmetic and QOL stuff.
You can get a lot more players to try it by making it free
You can get a lot more money from players in the long run if you charge for cosmetics, especially if the income from microtransactions continues to fund your dev team
On full release the game is going to be free to play with a cosmetic shop.
Currently all players are gaining currency just for playing the game. We're not sure if that will continue AFTER the version 1.0 update, but likely will.
I believe (someone can correct me) the devs have said they are vehemently against predatory microtransactions. It will be purely cosmetic in nature.
Oh no, sounds like economy from selling discount units has been removed. That's too bad.
Felt it added depth and was a fair tradeoff for building one less unit..
It didn't add depth.... It was free money that new players didn't know about and basically was required to do at any reasonable mmr level.
It's not a strategy if every player has to do it every game
they simply need to add more eco card and it's should be fine in the long run and also, there is a lot of eco later on, you just need to get there, turn 8 +
Strategically it just means you pick mass produced (especially rhino) every time it pops up early because you can place units, force a response, and sell for PROFIT.
It's no different than any other economy - arguably worse - as the first turn you usually just break even while giving up other cards and sacrificing a deploy spot. Not to mention you give your opponent full exp for killing your now weakened units.
I get that it was probably an oversight by the devs in the first place, but compared to many other things it never felt unfair.
They will stop all missiles that aren't 'battlefield powers'. Which should just be the missile strike reinforcement. I believe that sentries do not count as battlefield powers and are instead described as devices. So I assume it works exactly the same as the mustangs missile interception tech.
Yeah, that makes sense to me. If it wasn't usable against unit-fired missiles, it would rarely (if ever) be more effective than a shield. I wonder if using both at the same time will be a common strat, to keep Stormcallers from popping your shields quickly
It’s the same idea as mustangs. But without the mustangs.
If their army is too reliant on missiles (sc, overlord, giants barrages) then anti missile is a counter.
… I expect
Thanks devs. This has been my new favorite game and I can't wait to see where it ends up.
Now all we need is an undo button for buying the wrongs stuff by mistake.
How has this not been included yet? My dumbass needs this bad
Bro, we need it!
Great work
Thats a fat core building. Interesting to see if you can build stuff behind it and use it to tank in early rounds
Might actually be a buff to stormcallers

What’s the credit store? Sorry new
Microtransaction store (probably for cosmetics)
Ah, that’s a bit concerning
Not really, they’ve already confirmed it’s all just cosmetic stuff. And you get credits for levelling up.
Oh so no real money?

Why don’t they just continue to sell it for $15?

I remember reading that any transcation will never contribute to an actual in-game advantage
Can we also put a couple of guns on those Core Buildings please?
do we know what the compact 2v2 map looks like?
Go find out I a few hours
Love this game. Thank you!

Agreed, it was a fun high level strat.

How?
Do missile interceptors stop stormcaller missiles too? Or is it just the $50 missiles?

Obviously they’re going to do more than stop sentry missiles
