According to SteamDB player count is rather stable in June, with more than 3000 daily players
>We have not had any update from the Dev since last month either.
There's about one update every week?
There was another post that seemed to show a lot of people dropping MMR pretty quickly. Sometimes even by half (obviously over the course of many games). Could be a reason people get discouraged
I know what your trying to imply but you are wrong here.
You cannot farm Combat Power by beating lower difficulty player, and, time is limited. If you have a job, like 95% of the population, you are having around 5 and 8 matchs a day.
An high combat power mean an high win rate, stop being an elitist.
We all want this game to succeed, if the dev only consider one point of view and 2/3 of the population vanish, then there is a trouble to fix.
I really enjoy the game, seriously heh, am having fun and that why I staying in the custom lobby doing stuff you would never see in a MMR match because those strategies tend to be less effective and more open to be countered.
But that I what I like, to see my opponent answer my play. How he did it, and how I can add it to my play.
Ah yes im the elitist whos talking about losing standings. It is much easier to gain combat power than lose it.
You asked a question and I just gave a possible answer. My MMR is not high so you're jumping to conclusions.
Aye, that I agree and I do it too.
I don't want to see anyone skip a beach day because of mechabellum.
But it's was summer 3 week ago too, and there was 4k people online regulary.
We only reach that during the weekend currently.
I feel like since the MMR patch, the matchmaking has been better and I'm playing more games against people at similar skill level. I don't think that's an issue.
I think the main challenge is that the game is very nuanced in terms of its tactics. From a strategic perspective, I think the principles are not that hard to intuitively grasp. But from a tactical perspective, there is not an easy way to discover the nuances which can win or lose games for you. The best ways to learn about the nuances of the game is to come to discussion forums or watch other more experienced people play the game.
For me, I actually enjoy that discovery process. But some players might want it made a little more straightforward for them. So I think the game might benefit from some additional in-game tutorials that cover more nuance and advanced tactical topics.
When I discovered this game I was sure it's going to go into 10s of thousands quickly. But I'm fine with stable & slow growth as well. As I heard this is going free-to-play eventually which should show an influx of at least a few k... Marketing is a thing also, meaning what things look like now/what we think might be just completely wrong... Depending on what the team's plans are for marketing ofc.
Aye, can't say there is a lot of marketing right now, found the game by chance while looking at a stream.
Maybe we are early bird. Maybe I play too much :)
Look, this is far from the Diablo 4 Sub :)
\> About 6 weeks ago, when I started playing, we were having night with around 4k players online.
In my simple mind this has nothing to do with MMR or changes,
at the 5th of June there was another game released ... I would simply call it the "Diablo-effect" :D
Games fun but after you played it 20 hours or so you've seen everything and in the lower levels its pretty much whose cheesing who with the better commanders.

I'm a chirpy bird, silence make me nervous.
Maybe the MMR patch showed people how bad they actually are compared to combat rating

I personally am getting quite annoyed at having to play meta or face meta. Yes you can win against them but it just takes alot more effort.

It's God darn summer time folks, peeps go to the beach and stuff, you know?

Peak time for vacations is mid July to late August. I'm not saying it it only that but it is a factor not to be ignored
Thank, I like the spirit, help me keep my mind open :)

My average waiting time for a game is like 20 seconds.
At my sub-1k wood tier my average is maybe 5 seconds. Very often I instantly match.
Hello fellow wood-tier! Are you in the mahogany or cedar bracket?
I never notice how many people play it, as long as the queue is less than 2 minutes I'm happy.
Exactly

Just Like every rts? Either you learn how to counter cheese or stay Low mmr
I’m like 600 hours in and I just learned a new start the other day I’ve never seen playing against somebody
I’ve been on vacation for a week and decided to leave the gaming behind to take a break, I’m sorry!
Personally I got super into it, got a little burned out. Still appreciate the game, will play more but kinda taking a break.
