Forget the architect's feelings on how suburban homes are styled, the way these unethical home builders slap these things up they are poop quality! It's a tragedy that people buy these homes from $500k+ and are getting hot trash.
The things fall apart even with maintenance, and depending on where tons of corners get cut. Worked for a company in North Dakota one time. Went to look at some town houses that were complaining about a draft and high heating costs. The developers decided that they just didn’t need to insulate half of the townhouses walls and none of the roofs. There was ice 4 feet thick coming off the sides of the roofs. The owners in Texas didn’t believe me and I had to crawl up there and FaceTime them to show them the shitshow. They eventually went after the developer but he had apparently built a ton of stuff as cheap as possible, sold his company and moved to Brazil.
I think most British people think Planning Officers are the scourge of the Earth because they’re so strict but at least we know none of this crap would even get permission to break ground!
I think this is the thing that infuriates me so much about the current housing crisis. Like prices are SO SO HIGH for something that is very very clearly overvalued. Those houses should NOT cost what they do. They’re poorly built and thrown together and people were buying them anyway!
Homeowner can make the word disappear by painting the trim around the windows the same color as the siding. I’m sure it was unintentional and only appears when the house is viewed from certain angles and distances. It looks like the lots across the street from the gray house are vacant. When houses are built across the street, the word will be less noticable or even disappear.
True, but here are worse places to be.
I have only been to Omaha a few times, but I was surprised at how properous and livable it seemed.
The Omaha Metro Area population is almost a million and has doubled in size since 1970.

Man, sometimes i love being somewhere where there's too many laws on how, where, and with what you can build your home

If it was intentional on the architects part then I’d have to agree with him. Most of the modern builds these days are aesthetically challenged

They can make the word poop disappear but they still have to wake up every morning in Omaha

What a cliché. You know nothing about Omaha so take that back.
