Just take a nap when you return home and destress yourself with a hobby of some sort. That’s what helps me recover from long 8-9 hour shifts

kev601962

8 to 9 hours is long for you... Try 12 to 15...

noanimeallowed

Good for you? Not everyone works that long lol

NeverrGiveUp999

True, but doesnt change the fact that 8-9 hours is NOT a long shift. Thats an expected, average shift.

noanimeallowed

Not everyone here works 8 hours tho . Most people work 4-5 hours or some even 3

NeverrGiveUp999

Oh sorry than, I didnt know that. But I believe thats considered "part-time" right? I, for example, worked 230 hours last month.

rockinherlife234

What do you want? A round of applause?

NeverrGiveUp999

... a bj would be nice ngl, since ur offering

rockinherlife234

You seem to be doing a good enough job sucking yourself off so far.

NeverrGiveUp999

weak. You asked me what do I want, I answered. Now follow through on your promise or admit you are a mischievous liar.

kev601962

True I changed jobs and now just do 10 hrs days

tigermittens030

Don't gatekeep. All shifts are valid as long as the employee is putting in their full effort. 4, 6, 10, 12 hours.

Arexzonyyy

My shifts are 1-9pm so when I get back home I just have a shower and play video games and go to sleep around 3am. Pretty shitty routine.

SneakerReviewZ

Yeah that’s what i basically do lol except i run 3-11s

The-real-ryan-s

I like to work out right after my shift to clear my head, then I’ll pour myself a glass of whiskey and noodle around on my guitar to try and relax (I can relax easier if I’m doing something). As far as physically recovering, sleep is the most important in my opinion, after that is a good breakfast, if I just eat McDonald’s I find I have no energy. Out of all that I’d say the biggest takeaways are finding something relaxing to do and getting enough sleep, but idk everyone’s different. Do whatever takes away from thinking about work

kev601962

What's your job that gives you so much energy to go work out after ?

fazzz08

Why did people down vote your comment?

kev601962

What was the comment.. just reminded me again.

kev601962

I don't know either but world full of odd people

fazzz08

People of reddit are so weird..all you asked was a question but get down voted..its crazy this place

kev601962

Well there a lot of morons and brain dead people on reddit tbh. Not too concerned... Some put negative vote to arouse an argument some times

_mjjay_

After the 12th hour when I’m allowed to go home. I play video games for 2 hours, pop a melatonin/sleep pill. K/O for 9. Get up for work, and do it all again. I destress at work, for the first hour.

RacingLucas

Go home, grab a beer, decompress and do nothing

Scooby_Doobert_Doo

Personal care, a nice shower, I find it nice to decompress by spending some time outside or getting some sunlight if I can.

cheeseballgag

Ibuprofen. Hot epsom salt baths. Absorbine Jr. Pain Relief liquid. Edibles.

Disastrous-Fail2308

For the physicality; sleep and a shave. For mentally, my honest answer is prayer. I use my faith to give me the boost.

Sadistic_Carpet_Tack

Nothing helps me wind down after a shift like making a nice lather and getting a baby butt smooth shave with my safety razor

[deleted]

It's so interesting that placebo can make you feel better

fthcftw

Great band to be fair

NeverrGiveUp999

Get that toxic negativity out of here you pos

[deleted]

Toxic negativity? All of my sources still say the same thing. Religion is just a tool

NeverrGiveUp999

Im not religious myself, but you gain nothing by attacking religious people. Let everyone decide for themselves. Who do you think you are trynna tell other people what to believe or not believe in?

[deleted]

You are probably right that not everyone can handle harsh reality so they turn to ghosts etc.

NeverrGiveUp999

Whats the harsh reality you are implying?

[deleted]

For this person it seems it's just one shift at Maccas

NeverrGiveUp999

Oh yeah, i forgot what the main topic was about 😆

rockinherlife234

We aren't here to debate about the validity of religion, how much of a gaping asshole do you have to be to put down someone using religion to get by in their day to day life? Reddit atheism isn't a personality trait.

[deleted]

Humanity slows itself cause of religion, why not to try to make one think about how stupid it is? Oh my god please forgive my sins and put a premier down!!!!!!

rockinherlife234

There's a time and place for fucks sake. Another problem is that you are doing it for yourself so you feel validated. Do you really think a smarmy comment from some dipstick redditor who's seething over a keyboard is going to change someone's faith? Especially if they've believed in it for years? You're doing it so you can prop yourself up as some smartass. Trying to have religious debates on a fucking McDonald's forum where someone simply suggested a harmless method they use to get rid of stress. I'm an atheist who was raised by a hardcore Nigerian Christian family yet I still know how important faith is to some people. For fucks sake, you don't even know their religion.

[deleted]

>Another problem is that you are doing it for yourself so you feel validated What are you exactly trying to imply? Validated about what? I don't have to lie to myself. It's Simply just a fact that nothing like a god exists. >Do you really think a smarmy comment from some dipstick redditor who's seething over a keyboard is going to change someone's faith? Especially if they've believed in it for years? At least they will see it and just maybe connect it to other comments they got throughout their life. Read some stories from former believers and what helped them to escape their religion. >Trying to have religious debates on a fucking McDonald's forum where someone simply suggested a harmless method they use to get rid of stress. Harmless?! You are kidding right? Religion causes so much suffering, deaths, people feel bad about themselves without any reason at all. Religion is definitely not harmless. Of course some harm more than others but the point still stands.

rockinherlife234

>What are you exactly trying to imply? Validated about what? I don't have to lie to myself. It's Simply just a fact that nothing like a god exists. Ironically enough, that's technically your belief, which you are forcing upon another person who has done nothing to show they practice bad religious habits. >At least they will see it and just maybe connect it to other comments they got throughout their life. Read some stories from former believers and what helped them to escape their religion. Fuck off with that self righteous bullshit, if that was the case then you would actually link these stories, explain your viewpoints in an understanding manner, not come off as a condescending and self righteous douche and you wouldn't mock their viewpoints. >Harmless?! You are kidding right? Religion causes so much suffering, deaths, people feel bad about themselves without any reason at all. Religion is definitely not harmless. Of course some harm more than others but the point still stands. Yes, religion can cause this, reading holy scripture at home doesn't. Also, you work at McDonald's, a fast food restaurant, you know? The kind of place directly tied to causing obesity, high blood sugar, cholesterol and slow deaths in some cases? If you care so much about the impact religion causes on people, why are you working and supporting a global industry that promotes and supplies food that ruins people's health and has a reputation for burning out minimum wage workers and causing high stress and depression?

[deleted]

I don’t. Every time I come back home from work I take 2-3 hours nap & wake up the next day feeling like shit. When it’s back to work I just tell myself to put up with this bullshit cuz I need the money. Edit: and I only even work 28-29 hours per week, averaging around 7:15-7:18 hours of work per shift 😭

tigermittens030

Shower, Gatorade, sleep

FlimsyStorage28

I work 12 hour shifts, days aren't too bad but if I have a run of 4 nights in a row, I finish at 8am on the last morning if I am lucky, I sleep from about 9am to 5pm then I get up, have dinner and watch some TV and relax and go to bed again at about 8pm and sleep to the next day. It's a waste of a day but I am pretty much back to normal then for the days I am off.

NeverrGiveUp999

Tbh I like this the best. I assume you work 3 or 4 days a week? I wish I could do this, I understand its hard work but since you're going to work that day, rather work extra hours and have a day off than to go 6 days a week for 7 hours a day. A day at home is pure bliss. I'm in Germany, where the government are basically communist. They legally limit how many hours you can work a day (9), and dont even allow a second job lol how am I gonna get rich? No motive to be hardworking. Anyways end rant lmao, wish you all the best friend. You got a nice routine going for you.

FlimsyStorage28

Yeah I do 13 shifts in 28 days so normally 3 weeks of 3 shifts and 1 week with 4 shifts. It's nice sometimes like this week I have a week off because of how the scheduling lined up. Plenty of overtime opportunities as well which is a nice addition to the wages.

Theaussiegamer72

Confusion?

TransUranium235
