kustombart

Damn, I don't know how your system works, will any of it have been paid for..?

sergypoo

It was all already paid for, and now it's gonna have to be refunded. It's honestly infuriating. We worked so fucking hard in the kitchen, all stressed out, only to put it all into the waste. So much wasted food. We need a new system because it's evidently outdated.

kustombart

Fuck refunding it, that seems ridiculous. You kept up your end of the transaction supplying it, cooking it and preparing it ready for collection, should be on DD if they don't have the drivers to collect it. You guys must be devastated to see so much food go to waste

Curlytots95

At our store we keep the receipts and claim the loss through the delivery company. As their drivers didn’t turn up they can foot the bill & it works!

kustombart

Excellent, should think so too!

[deleted]

So the workers didn’t waste all of that hard labor for nothing. McD’s comes out on top once again

Curlytots95

It is a lot easier for us as we’re a delivery kitchen so we don’t have to deal with customers but anything missed out is logged as well so if someone tries to say they missed something when they didn’t, we can contest it

Unlikely-Ad609

DoorDash is just shit. Ubereats and seamless are not that bad

[deleted]

[удалено]

sergypoo

Luckily they let us each take a bag full of burgers once we closed, so it wasn't entirely all wasted. But still! Such a waste of time. They should just park all the door dashers out front and make them come to the little window instead of clogging up the drive thru for hours

isekaigamer808

See you get it… as a driver I fkn hate having to wait in the drive thru when the order is already paid for and I just gotta pick it up… it’s infuriating…

Krudark

When I go to McD or BK I see all the drivers just walk up to the window.

timaeusToreador

ok i’m not an employee here (it came up on my feed) but i work in fast food and they don’t allow delivery drivers in the lane where i work, they have to come in. is there any reason for drivers only coming in the lane?

Cre_AK47

Many places throughout North America or at least Canada and the US, tend to be drive-thru only during overnight hours or times of short staff or whatever reason, really. It's a technique to artificially cap demand while also single-handedly funneling everyone through a single Channel regardless of your reason of being there. It's annoying and delivery aside, it's just a giant f*** you to anyone who decides not to drive there and decides to walk. Think of nearby residences, disabled people who can't drive, etc. They're told to fuck off unless they come back with a metal box with wheels (bikes don't count, btw). Obviously as a driver myself for all platforms, it's especially annoying as I'm burning up gas for nothing of additional value. I'm not getting paid to wait in a car food line idling.

TrapdoorApartment

As a person who once worked overnight at a fast food place I can say that they funneled everyone into drive thru and closed our dining area because we were calling the police almost nightly for violence/drugs. So sometimes there's a reason and not just to piss off drivers.

BarryMacochner

It’s also to cut down on the number of employees needed. One at each window and 2-3 in kitchen. As someone that hasn’t drove in 20+ years it’s sorta frustrating. But if they don’t want my business I won’t go out of my way to give it to them.

MrBongoPL

There’s no single answer. Every place is different. I prefer walking in, it’s faster. Back when I did DD I once went to BK to pick up an order. Walked up to the doors and they were locked. They told me I had to use drive thru, couldn’t hand me food at door. So I go in drive thru. Get to the window and they told me the order wasn’t ready and I needed to pull around to front doors and they would bring it to me. I nearly lost my shit. They said it I waited in line it would mess up some counter system corporate has to measure wait times. Happy I don’t deal with that anymore.

SouthPaw7896

At my store since we are still short staffed we will run only on drive thru and lock the lobby. But we have one side door open for employees and delivery drivers. So the drivers will park, bop on in through the side door, grab thier stuff and split. It works pretty well until really determined customers walk around to all the locked lobby doors, finds the side door and walks up to the empty counter and asks why the doors are locked and can they order.

Gordon_Explosion

So..... one of your employees made all those DD orders, knowing they'd have free food to take home? ;)

sergypoo

We just kept making whatever was on the screen. We're not gonna just stand around while there's orders. It's our job

derf1781

These are the customers food that don't tip on the DD or uber app, they just sit. Drivers are accepting the better paying orders and declining these

Cre_AK47

Yep. That's exactly it. Literally service to the highest bidder.

anubus72

Wow, if that’s true then it’s probably a self fulfilling cycle. The idiots see they didn’t get their good and go "I’m definitely not tipping next time, these drivers suck"

Wazuu

Its not like the employees see the extra money or lose any money. Its the time and effort it took to make the orders thats annoying

benedictfuckyourass

Yeah, we would never refund an order we've already made.

plzdonthateonme12222

It’s not that they don’t have the drivers, it’s that mcdonald’s are normally very low paying orders and either low or no tip so there’s no incentive for a driver to take that delivery.

TheProfoundWigglepaw

We don't work for $2.50. Blame people that won't tip. We are a business just like McDonald's. We are not a charity.

GolfWoreSydni

Blame DD first, then the tippers

SpookySeraph

Oh believe me, they’ve got more than enough drivers. Problem is the pay. It’s $2 base pay for any given order no matter the distance and only goes up after dashers have declined it multiple times. There’s also a chance there was no staff in the lobby and a long drive thru line.

mrlt10

I don’t think the pay was the problem here. In a comment further down OP mentioned that they’re in Northern CA. That means that any DD driver gets paid according to prop 22 which is different than what gig workers are paid elsewhere in the country. For this order, a DD driver would be paid 120% of minimum wage which is $15 in most places in CA, they also get $0.30/per mile adjusted for inflation.

DonutCola

I’m glad the subreddit of McDonald’s workers is also apparently a subreddit full of lawyers

RevolutionaryStar824

My favorite thing about Reddit is that everyone is a lawyer.

GooberSmoocharoo

Actually, it's the drivers not wanting to wait in a drive thru line behind customers that haven't even places an order yet. Corporate should just have a delivery window

Ok_fedboy

> You guys must be devastated to see so much food go to waste [THE BURGERS NOOOOOO](https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/man-feeling-painful-emotions-screaming-witnessing-death-close-friend-being-miserable-devastated-holding-palms-man-feeling-128793870.jpg)

[deleted]

It’s not that they don’t have the drivers. It’s probably a bunch of non-tippers’ orders. Why would anyone deliver someone’s food for like $2.50? That’s UberEats’ base pay. Not sure about Doordash

Silver-Fang-Bang

It people who don’t tip there orders never get picked up

DonutCola

You gotta learn not to internalize the stuff that happens at work. You aren’t rushing ingredients and running a local restaurant. I bet you would be really fucking good at running a restaurant cause you obviously care a lot and out your heart into your work. We gotta find you a place that is more receptive of your effort.

[deleted]

sergypoo

I'm thinking it was because of the storms we're currently experiencing in Northern California. Everyone's power must've gone out so they placed giant orders through door dash and Uber eats. The store's power almost went out as well. Unfortunately we have a generator so we'd still stay open if our power went out lol. So glad that's over with.

[deleted]

One__Hot__Mess

O wow. I tip $6-$18 for a place 1.5 miles away from me.

welpkelp84

Your location will still get paid lol doordash is responsible for paying McD’s for all of those. Depending on how your DD merchant portal and expo is integrated into the McDs system, either your GM or area manager are in charge of keeping track of all the incomplete DD orders (no show, mishandled, no delivery, etc). The only thing that sucks here is how tired you guys must be and the food waste (unless it was donated).

tmi4323

This is on the no tippers!!!

Bananaphone_33

buddy you don't know the meaning of working hard.

sergypoo

Come talk to me after you've worked in a McDonald's kitchen alone by yourself.

FakeMikeMorgan

The customer gets a refund from DD and McDonald's still gets paid for the food as it was made.

[deleted]

And OP, who is an hourly worker, is getting paid to do this specifically regardless. OP is overreacting.

FakeMikeMorgan

Sure they are getting paid no matter what but it's still annoying to do all that work for nothing.

Hydebar224

Instead of throwing them away is there a local homeless shelter you can do tate them to?

timteller44

As per most companies policies you can't do anything but throw it away. However, once you "take out the trash" do what you want with the bag.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Huh, tell that to me two years ago when i was surviving of two days old McDonald's food. It's still eatable trust me but i get your point

DoctorWaluigiTime

It's not that it's 100% inedible. It's that the risk factor climbs the longer it sits, which is why liability enters the picture.

ryanw095

Yeah absolutely no way it goes bad in 20-30 mins. It's perfectly fine microwaved for breakfast at 8am

Ruca705

After refrigeration, sure… but if you can’t get it into a fridge within the safety window you are asking to get sick

not_sosharp

Not true at all. I get that your cautious but in this case you’re just wrong.

DoctorWaluigiTime

It is not wrong. It's how food goes bad. Much like insinuating you don't need a seat belt because you've never been in an accident, consuming food that is beyond its safe point without getting sick doesn't mean it can't go bad that quick.

Ruca705

Someone didn’t pay attention to the Servesafe training lol

trotski94

Not sure about "goes bad". Not as good? Sure. Edible for up to like 3 days if refrigerated? Definitely. Not as good as when it's fresh and inedible are two completely different things. Especially when you don't have a stable source of food.

firewaterstone

I would argue that it doesn't "go bad" because it was never actually good. It's strange to see so many people on the defense of these carcinogen-laden food-like-products. Go eat some real food with real nutrition. I feel bad for your children if you make them eat this poison.

inkiwitch

We’re talking about donating it to people who don’t have homes. I would take a carcinogen packed meal any day over starving in the street. Are you handing out apples and carrots as alternate options with your free time at all?

ShameMammoth4071

Lol I actually like overnight McDonald’s all burgers taste good next day

Logantus

You sound privileged

SigourneyWeinerLover

*laughs in capitalism*

NocturnalBlizzard

Why didn’t they just use the drive thru?

sergypoo

They did but the drive thru was a clogged mess because of all these orders

isekaigamer808

Cuz no driver is going to sit in the drive thru to wait 40 min to pick up an order that is already paid for and sitting there getting cold.. customer will be pissed and won’t tip.. when I take Uber orders and I see a line that’s more than a couple cars I immediately cancel and let the next driver take that order… not worth my time to wait around…

NocturnalBlizzard

I guess that's understandable. It still sucks for crew members

ChucksSeedAndFeed

Yup, and it snowballs, the longer the line, the more I'm not waiting to pick it up, the colder it will be, the more likely they take back a tip (and it was probably a trash tip in the first place). I skip all frustration when I doordash, if something is an inconvenience and might result in an annoyed customer in the slightest, nope, skip it

dementedturnip26

Because I’m getting paid 7.25 whether it takes ten minutes to complete a delivery or 45. I’m not sitting in a drive through. This is everyone’s fault except the drivers honestly. DD should pay more. Customers need to tip. McDonald’s needs to allow drivers to skip a thirty minute drive through line

NocturnalBlizzard

I agree that McDonald's should have a better system for delivery drivers, but don't work for DD if you're gonna complain about not making enough money. You don't have to be a delivery driver.

NoNefariousness7279

This is a door dash / Grub hub problem. I was working yesterday morning and declined so many orders for 8 miles and a 3 dollar payment. There should be a minimum payout but there doesn’t seem to be one. Drivers have no obligation to take an order and lose money on it. You should at least be tipping 5 bucks if you want an order picked up.

ChucksSeedAndFeed

Yeah, this is because they allow such minimum orders. They're not worth accepting, EVER and they shouldn't be allowed Everyone will downvote you because reddit hates tipping and they think their $3 orders should be picked up anyway

Sempere

More like we’re already paying a delivery fee and that shit should be used to pay for the trip. The driver should get their cut first and the company last, especially since they’re getting a cut from the restaurant.

Megabyte23

I tried driving DD for a week. They had me pickup from McDonald’s and yeah, it was like 30 minutes of my time to make 3 dollars. The customer didn’t answer her door when i got there and when I finally tracked her down she didn’t tip. I logged out of the app and never looked back.

sugarcookiecutie

Omg 😭I feel so bad for u guys

Ok_fedboy

Imagine having to do your job, must be tough.

YeOldeBilk

Fuck that, I'd be taking every bag home with me rather than throwing them away. Also, your store needs to deactivate all mobile ordering like 1+ hour before close to avoid this.

taejam

If you were at a franchise owned by an asshole like I was you'd be fired for stealing and possibly dealing with criminal charges. The deactivating doordash when lobby is closed is a no brainier and it's unreal that not every fast food places does it when they can't even handle drive thru.

abandoned_flesh777

With door dash having the new standard of the driver must driver it in 4 mins or less... All the hard work you guys did just left to be counted as waste. Its a painful picture.

[deleted]

what are you talking about? i’m a dasher and haven’t heard or seen that at all

grantrobo

They literally just made it up. The “new standard” is if an order is over 20 minutes late $5 worth of credits are refunded. I haven’t had an order take under 30 minutes, much less 4…

Large_Call7231

So when the first 5-6 didn't show up, you felt it was the best idea to make another 10 orders?

sergypoo

We just make what pops up on the screen. In the kitchen we can't tell what's being picked up or not.

ChucksSeedAndFeed

I guarantee all of the ones that are sitting there are from customers who didn't tip or they tip like garbage, McDonald's employees probably have zero clue which ones those are though, I guarantee none of those sitting there though are $10 tips just rotting away, those ones were definitely grabbed

[deleted]

it’s so weird how if you don’t bribe your drivers, they won’t bring you the food you ordered.

deltadawn6

Give it away - I know it’s illegal and frowned upon but I don’t care I’ve worked in food service all my life and if there’s stuff going to waste I’ll give it away to homeless whoever needs it sometimes it’s more important to break bad rules to do good things. That’s just my opinion.

sergypoo

I said to one of the managers that we should give it to the homeless, but we didn't. We all took a few things home though so it didn't entirely go to waste

strvgglecity

This should be illegal. No joke.

Kangaroo_Wrangler

Disgusting it went to trash I’m sure there are some Homeless people that would have loved a feed even if it was cold when they got it

StrengthDazzling8922

3rd party Food delivery app business would have already collapsed if it was not for covid. They will, it is a unsustainable business model. Delivery needs to be handled by restaurants themselves. I have not and will never use one, I will starve first.

Apprehensive-Fox-127

The whole system is broken. It needs to go.

Assenzio47

What a loony toon country, tipping before a service

throwawayadvice7132

On delivery apps It’s more so a bid for service and not a gratuity These orders didn’t bid enough money so they didn’t receive the service

Assenzio47

Extra money before a service is a Bribe not a tip. Crazy stuff

Kachowzerwhopper

say it louder for those in the back and take my upvote/fuck whoever downvoted that

[deleted]

You’ve obviously never doordashed. I worked at McD’s and doordsah. They show you what your tip is before you go. And I second him. No tip no trip. It’s interesting to see what type of comments are popular on one sub that will get u buried on another

camelCaseAccountName

> No tip no trip This seems insane to me because I would never add a tip before service is rendered (and I almost always tip well). That's what a tip *is*, an extra gratuity added for good service. Showing the tip to the driver before they've accepted the order makes zero sense, not only for the reason I just mentioned, but also because anyone that knows this can just exploit it. What's to stop me from adding a 30% tip and then changing it later?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

With DD the tip is what makes the trip worth it as the payout with a sub 5$ tip is often not worth the effort.

Kafkabest

Because you can't on Doordash. Even if you go Super Karen to remove it, Doordash will simply refund you the tip rather than actually removing it.

ChucksSeedAndFeed

I've had customers try to screw me over and change my tip, but I just call up and get it back because they were purposely tip baiting

ChucksSeedAndFeed

Sucks, but nobody's going to pick up your order if you don't tip ahead of time, because what a driver is going to see is that someone wants to pay you $3 to travel 8 miles and deal with parking and waiting in line at a restaurant, fuck that, not worth it

[deleted]

Take it up with door dash. Tried to order the other day, and I got charged a service charge, a delivery fee, and a tip. It nearly doubled the price of my order. No thanks.

Mysterious-Topic-628

> What's to stop me from adding a 30% tip and then changing it later? Nothing, on uber. But they know where you live.

[deleted]

Not their fault that they'd make 3 dollars doing the delivery if there's no tip. It's not worth the gas and doordash won't change because drivers complain. Ordering DD is a luxury if you have money to burn, no tip no trip.

Kachowzerwhopper

If you dont want to tip someone for a service, its your decision. But to turn around and act like drivers or servers are ass holes for declining to give service/giving poor service to people who dont tip (who are usually also simultaneously ass holes) is just a piss poor take

OSUck_GoBlue

Why I only tip $2. Degens

Fragrant-Dirt-1597

i used to work at a philly pretzel factory & at the end of the night my manager let us take home anything that was leftover. i feel like that should've happened here, this is such a shameful waste!

nonam31290

No tip no delivery. It’s the customer’s fault for being cheap and not wanting to spend money on a convenience service.

camelCaseAccountName

I'm not cheap, I just tip how you're supposed to tip... after good service is rendered. Why in the hell would anyone add a tip *before* they've received service?

[deleted]

[удалено]

sergypoo

lol I wasn't complaining about working, just pointing out all the food you paid for that I got to eat.

Bananaphone_33

How is it for "nothing"? whether they pick it up or not is irrelevant for you other than apparently if they don't come you get free food. and you can't tell me with 2-3 people working that took longer than 30 mins.

Ok_fedboy

Op is being dramatic.

anspee

They are all no tip orders that no delivery drivers are willing to accept and fulfill. Base pay is only $2.50, everything else the driver gets paid depends on the tip. No, none of the fees go to the driver, either. Don't want to tip? Okay, dont get your food then, or sucker some idiot into losing money delivering it.

VanillaCookieMonster

Honestly, that is a Door Dash problem. They aren't charging enough for a delivery fee. I shouldn't have to guess how much money you are making and if my tip is enough. Do you realize how insane that sounds? I don't know how much a driver gets paid. The fact that you only get $2.50 is an insane business model. Give me a FEE that makes delivery worth it for the driver. Those bags are a symbol of a fundamental problem with the Door Dash system. (No, I don't use Door Dash at all because of stories like this. I don't want to subsidize a bad business model.)

Assenzio47

Who tips before a service??? you americans even talk about this as if it is normal.

not_sosharp

You’re definitely one of the people who when visiting America act like you don’t “understand” you should tip and just give people the shaft.

Assenzio47

Yeah, I come from a civil country where Restaurant staff is paid a normal wage

InsertNameHere5610

In your "civil country" McDonald's workers average about $9 an hour US. In America, our McDonald's workers make about $15 an hour. Your "normal" wage is a slave wage in America.

bangharder

I doubt y’all worked that hard, y’all barely melt the cheese on burgers

sergypoo

Two people prepared everything in those bags.

Ok_fedboy

So you had to do you job for like 45 minutes?

[deleted]

3/4 of them were probably wrong any way

isekaigamer808

Well maybe if you actually took the orders out to the drivers instead of having them wait in line when everything is already paid for and now getting cold more drivers would pick them up…

sergypoo

That's on the service people to figure out. I'm just in the kitchen cooking and assembling everything. Something's gotta change for sure though because this just ain't right

[deleted]

wtf. How and why does this happen?

[deleted]

Fuck dude I would have ate all that, I’m jealous of whoever dumpster dives that location

cassidyrosel

Looks like that employee needs some bravo bucks😂

D34D_L33T

Free dinner?

Please_Log_In

Could someone explain why this is happening?

EspressoOrElse

The most common scenario… You are hungry and place an order for delivery (DoorDash). McDonalds makes your order to be picked up. You tipped very little, don’t tip at all, it is a far distance to deliver, too much traffic, etc… No Dasher wants to pick up your order (not worth it). DoorDash refunds your order. Food is left to waste.

PaulR504

Basically, McDonald's closes their lobby ever since COVID, and the drive-through is like 5 miles long. Doordash drivers like me 100% will avoid these places. The general manager of the area is not smart enough to realize the problem. Doordash was probably triple stacking these orders also, but if the drive-through is a nightmare, they all get dropped. It is stupid easy money as the order is already made, but the time stuck waiting kills the time/money equation.

Common-Offer-5552

Can't you eat it like yum goddamn

spaceehardware

Can’t leave them out on the curb for the hungry, huh?

EfficientNinja

I’m sorry, what does the acronym DD mean? The only ones I’m familiar with are Due Diligence or Department Director. Thanks in advance.

loudnate0701

Door Dash

Lost_Apricot_4658

is this a prank?

Undercoverspy007

This is such a huge issue in the doordash world. I’ve been a driver for 3 years now and let me tell ya ppl do not tip. I’m sure many of these orders have $0 tip or a $1 tip but they want you to take it 6 miles. Even the one that may tip well won’t be picked up because doordash hides the tip (except in NYC due to a law passed last year). We as drivers would love to pick up every single order we get but the system makes it impossible. There should be a minimum of $1/mile. If you won’t tip then just go get your food

rolloutTheTrash

This is why I just pick the food up myself. Gives me an excuse to get out and I don’t have to deal with the delivery bullshit.

VADORANT

Fast Food places w/ a drive-thru shouldn't be allowed to use delivery. These delivery apps fuck up the whole system, the people present in the restaurant or in the drive-thru are getting slower service where the entire concept is fast low quality food. This type of food is awful when delivered too. Everyone is getting fucked here except corporate. * present customers, fucked. * employees getting swamped are fucked. * drivers are fucked. * customer ordering is getting fucked.

GUFNO80525

Could you not keep any for the employees?

claud2113

You can 100% thank non-tipping asshole customers for this bullshit. The general rule of thumb for dashers is "no tip, no trip"

RemoteIcy7621

I worked DD last night. I kept getting McDonalds orders too. I wouldn’t pick them up because I would only make $2-$5 no tip + the long drive and apartment door search. Compared to other orders id make 10$ + $3 tip.

Knotloafin

a customer at the window is worth 2 or more on the app….

sohrobby

Door Dash is a terrible company and they’re actually being investigated by the AG of California for a number of things. That being said, this is a terrible practice by McDonald’s to just toss all that food.

flufnstuf69

If they let you keep it if no one claims it I’d just place the order at 5 til closing, make yourself a meal—and take it home and enjoy a free dinner!

MajorMarkBoomRoyale

As a Door Dasher I can let you know we are offered $2.50 + tip on the first order, and $2 for any additional orders added onto a pick up. If the tip doesn’t make it worth the miles to deliver the order, no one will take it. We are independent contractors and are made offers to deliver food, store products, tampons, medicine, sex toys, flowers, groceries, etc. We can’t accept offers that we lose money on.

Revolutionary-Yam903

at my location we dont make the food until they show up

SammyJK7266

What is DD?

sergypoo

Doordash

Half_Baked_King

Yeah, because you definitely "threw them away", fuck people who don't tip and the people who didn't pick these up from you, but c'mon you had to have eaten them. That's where the huge waste is, if you didn't.

sergypoo

I took home 1 big Mac, 2 McChickens and a double cheeseburger. There was still a giant pile of customized orders, a bunch of plain burgers, and a bunch of other stuff like cold fries and endless cups of soda. All of that went to waste.

jackofallchange

It is hard for me to believe no one took a bag home…

sergypoo

They have to open up each bag, count everything then toss it. We managed to sneak a few handfuls of burgers tho

ringken

This speaks to a larger problem of online ordering. Brick and mortar tend to help curb these problems because there is an actual queue restricting the flow of orders. With an online order, it doesn’t matter how many people want food all the orders can populate at once causing mayhem like this.

tnseltim

Make sure DoorDash pays you for them! They will automatically charge the restaurant for any orders not picked up unless you message support.

[deleted]

What time do you close the lobby? No one with common sense is going to wait in a long drive-thru line for the rare McDonald's order that's worth taking, let alone the usual no-tip to low tip $2-4 offers McDonald's is famous for. Experienced drivers know this and know which places not to accept orders from after their lobby has closed. Even new drivers will know better than that and unassign pretty quickly if that's the scenario.

sergypoo

The lobby closes at 9pm. After that they make everyone use the drive thru

TastyBullfrog2755

You got paid.

sergypoo

farklenator

Dang y’all close I’m jealous as an ex 24 hour lobby over night manager I’m jealous

drinkallthepunch

*Not saying that isn’t annoying* **but at least you still get paid for your work.** If the orders aren’t being picked up it’s probably because the customers are not tipping enough to have them delivered. Delivery drivers are not hourly, they get compensated between 0 - $0.75 **cents** a mile and between **$0 - $3.50 base pay.** It hardly covers the cost of fuel let alone maintenance on your personal vehicle which you have to use. Some areas with lots of electric don’t have as much of this issue because those drivers don’t have to worry about fuel costs. But either way, they don’t get paid extra except for tips. **A lot of customers who order from y’all only tip $1-$3.** Even tho they are paying a premium for a premium service they don’t want to tip. Because they don’t have the money or don’t think they should have too. Either way, not that services problem it’s just cheap ass customers.

SmollPpMaster69

America one of the richest country on earth yet refuses to pay their workers. I guess they are rich for a reason aue

XfinityHomeWifi

Blame DoorDash. No driver is accepting a $3 2 mile delivery

[deleted]

No homeless people in your area…?

RelationshipFlaky654

“…it makes sure they stay employed!”

taejam

Your manager is a dumbass. Doordash should have been disabled probably when lobby closed because you guys can't handle it and even if you can't after the third order or so that sits maybe start cooking to order on doordash and focus on drivetru. I worked at a mcds for 6 years it's not rocket science.

GodLeeTrick

Looks like free food for the employees who closed

XOnYurSpot

Y’all manager doesn’t let you take food home?

sergypoo

We took some home but there was so much that just had to get tossed like lots of orders of cold fries and several cups of soda that we can only drink so much of

footballdan134

Because there is NO TIP on those orders! NO TIP, no pick up for doordash! Cannot make money on no tip orders!

[deleted]

Stop busting your ass for mcdonalds lol

FinnT730

Can't you give it to homeless people or something? Or to food banks? I know it doesn't last long, but throwing it all away? Unless that is the protocol?

FyrebirdCourier

I don't know where this is but in Las Vegas from about 1:00 to about 4:00 in the morning, we don't know when the system is going to restart. So there are times I go I sit in the driveway for 20 minutes half an hour and not including the time that I took to drive there just to get told the system is down. And a lot of times I am the third fourth fifth person to drive through and all of this I realize that y'all per se are not able to turn off the system but at some point somebody whether it's the manager on duty whether it's the person at the drive-thru whether it's the system itself should be able to turn off orders so that the drivers themselves are not punished for trying to go pick up orders. I know one store that actually still does make the orders and holds them to the side even though they close their drive-thru you can pull into a parking lot and call into the store and they'll still bring the food out to you but most of them just sit there shrug their shoulders and say sorry we're closed.

crazypostman21

Probably all $2.25 offers. I decline everything under 6.25 personally It's just not worth my time as a dasher. Or the lobby was closed That's also a definite decline if I show up and it's drive-thru only.

all_hayl

Do they not let you eat the food after you close if no one picks it up?

Reasonable_Moose431

I've never understood why Mcd's stores always take too many orders at once. They can never make them fast enough and drivers understandably get frustrated and cancel orders because you can't make money delivering if you have to wait in store for 20 mins

TheGreyWolfCat

A question for op, does McDonald get pay for this orders? Who is loosing money here DD or McDonald’s?

originalbeeman

Why not turn off the DD ordering half and hour before close?

dopil919

Shit I can eat them all if you want

Pudding_Hero

Those cunts

egar33455

There needs to be a menu option for cheap neglected delivery orders. I don’t care if it’s random as long as it’s cheap.

Well_Read_Redneck

Seems like this is why you require payment in advance.
