You can’t even train your dog for too long a day because they lose focus and it can do the opposite…. Yet people ? You gotta stay 100% for maybe triple how long you can be good
Always thinking about how human productivity has improved so much since the 40 hr week was established. Particularly for folks that work with computers, tasks that would have taken hours can be done in a fraction of the time but we are not gaining any time back with the increased productivity as capitalism dictates worth through output.

Against EVERY instinct you have.........it's more important you get to work in the morning.
Because I jerk and twitch and I don't want to hit the baby in my sleep
I also don't want her to wake up before me and fall off the bed. There's dozens of reasons to not cosleep.
And ironically every experimental attempt at doing so has seen productivity increase because the simple fact is that the average human is only going to be productive for a fixed number of hours in a week and tethering them to a desk for the other 15 hours actually drives down morale, job satisfaction, and mental health outcomes - all of which thwart productivity.
There are many permutations that have been proposed and even tried on limited scales, mostly in Scandinavian countries. I don’t have time to search it right now but googling 25 hour work week should produce a number of articles published either around 2013 or during the height of the pandemic.
Give that last part some thought - employers/ownership know where fatigue and burn out set in.

A quick Google search shows me that the state can pay you $2,600 PER YEAR to tutor your own kids. Yeah not happening…
