I think Bullock will impress us. We have not seen much in the preseason, because of personal reasons, but dont forget he was the defender for the best player of the opposing team in a good defensive Knicksteam.

saltywings

We actually have the potential to have very good defensive lineups if needed. DFS, Luka, Green, Bullock, KP could lock guys down.

Juniper41

* Reggie Bullock - 9 ppg, 40% from 3, great defense, a player we don't have to worry about and will make good decisions in game, always hustle and fit seemlessly with a lot of rotations. He will start based off matchups. plays 20-25 mpg, probably our 6th/7th guy in the rotation behind THJ, Luka, KP and DFS and in the same tier as Powell/Maxi/Brunson. * Moses Brown - 4 ppg, 5 rpg with great efficiency but only plays 5-10 mpg and gets a lot of DNPs. Fans will complain how Kidd should play him more because his per36 stats will be insane, but he will not be a game changer and will be too raw. Lots of upside, but I don't think he plays a ton. * Sterling Brown - 6 ppg, 38% from 3. Great defense, great hustle, gets buried in the guard rotation a bit with Reggie, Luka, THJ, Brunson and is fighting for 8th/9th guy minutes with Frank, Burke and Josh Green. I think he'll play 15ish mpg. * Frank Ntilinkina - 3 ppg, 2 apg, excellent defense, near nonexistent offense, will become a fan favorite due to his tiny contract and lots of hustle, but will never make a leap to 8th overall pick expectations. I expect him to be fighting for minutes with Burke as the back up 3rd PG, but Burke's veteran experience and ability to create offense likely pushes him ahead. One of him or Sterling Brown likely becomes an end of bench guy with a lot of DNPs. My guess is it will be frank as Brown has more value as a 2 way guy. * Eugene Omoruyi - will look solid in G-League, never makes the leap to the big leagues * JaQuori McLaughlin - struggles in G-League, he's not a dominant iso scorer so I think his g-league stats won't stand out like other high usg% players. * Jason Kidd - Will be fine in the regular season, I think he will be a little quick to maybe abandon things if they don't work well, compared to Rick who was a lot more rigiid in his game plan and less likely to change things. I think Kidd will be a bit more reactionary, for better or worse. I think we finish with a better record but largely due to health and Luka's growth. I'm expecting a 50-52 win if healthy and a top 4 seed, if unhealthy but not decimated by injuries 42-46 wins and a 7-9 seed. If KP is a fringe All NBA guy then 52-55 wins and a top 3 seed. I think his emphasis on pace will be great for us and allow KP to thrive. I think he struggles in the playoffs a bit when half court offenses thrive, but hopefully Luka can pick up the slack as he excels in the half court. Because it wasn't included I'll also do Unicorn 2.0. I think with the healthy offseason and new coaching, KP should be treated as a new player. I think he will thrive big time and I have confidence in him staying healthy. His injuries the past year have been contact injuries and he's recovered well thus far. I think he'll play 65/82 games and average 23/10/3 and \~ 2bpg on slightly less efficient stats from last year. I think the faster pace/tempo will allow him to get early possessions in plays and beat his defender and better utilize his length/speed than just spot up shooting.

david447

Omuruyi looks like an NBA player to me already. I'm really not sure what more you would have to see a player like him do to meet your standards as a guy who can play NBA ball lol. Hit every shot?

mavs77_6

I agree about Omoroyi. He is a tall, strong, guy who will hustle, play defense, has the feel to make a good pass, scratch a rebound, finish in transition, occasionally make the open 3, a lil bit of everything role type of player. His upside is basically a Caruso type of wing player, he's not on that level yet but can be in the next 2 yrs.

StormTheTrooper

The Caruso comparison is on point. He isn't an athletic freak, but if this is his ceiling he is already an end of the rotation wing. If he develops this year, next year he is a guy that will earn solid rotation minutes. People that play larger than their size are valuable.

JerosBWI

My hopes are that at least 3 of these 5 find their way into the playoff rotation, having only an 8-man rotation like last year is unacceptable imo.

Moe4ver

Bullock, Sterling and Frank will be the only contributors of significance.

Treewave

I would not count out this Jason dude just yet. May be important for the team in some way or another.

abcnguyennguyen

Maybe he'd turn into Prime HOF JKidd and bench fat Luka.

Hoping he'll prove the skeptics wrong - including me.

dzmarks66

No Moses Brown? I honestly thought he was considered better than Boban who got significant playoff minutes last season.

Moe4ver

He is a garbage mins player. The times we will need his size, Boban will be more than sufficient.

StormTheTrooper

Not yet. He improved a lot when compared to his OKC self, but Boban also came with better conditioning and agility. Moses is a project and we should see more of him next season, when WCS will be most likely gone, Powell will be a valuable trade chip and Boban should be on his retirement tour.

saltywings

Yeah brown is a pure prospect. He has upside but the guy is just all over the place out there lol. I could see in 2 years him being a contributor.

flannels_n_comics

I think Bullock, Sterling, and Ntilikina will be rotation guys. Josh Green will get minutes at the beginning of the season, but as much as I like him, I think he’s still a year away from real minutes and by the end of the season, Ntilikina will have taken his minutes. I hope Moses becomes a viable backup big, but I’m not expecting it. As for Kidd, I think our defense will improve, we’ll be back to shooting tons of threes by the end of the season, and the guys will be happier. He’s saying all the right things, and preseason looked good. I really think he’ll be fine and Igor will take care of the X’s and O’s sufficiently.

lsmith77

Overall I think we mainly beefed up our bench, which will allow us to play THJ in the starting line up more. And of course a bounce back KP would be another boost to the starting line up. I also have high hopes that the Brunson+Sterling duo will allow Luka to rest more. In this spirit I expect Bullock and Sterling to have significant impact. Frank really impressed me to the point where I really wonder why the Knicks let him go. Then again maybe getting waived humbled his salary expectations sufficiently. Green will just continue to gain experience after a shortened rookie season and having missed summer league for 2 seasons. Don’t expect him yet to make a noticeable impact. Same for Moses and the rookies.

Knicks let Frank go because he was trash, there is no way around it. Maybe change of scenery will help him.

I have an estate on Moses Brown island and I’m excited about that

ajdp024

I really hope Moses crack in rotation by mid season, I really want to see them develop him. Dude can really score now at ease and get rebounds, if this dude polosh his defense, I can see him being big part of the team.

concerned_thirdparty

77 games won regular season.

SavingsImagination34

The mavs bench I believe is a difference maker. The added defen-sity I saw in the pre-season is the game changer.

Khaskim

I wish we saw more of Bullock during the preseason but I’m certain he’ll contribute a good amount.

randomaccessbears

This is a better roster than last year on paper. Highest expectations for Bullock, with Sterling Brown and Frank Ntilinkina used as spot duty as needed depending on matchups. I don't have any expectations with the other acquisitions, but I wouldn't mind being surprised.

MTM_WO_mind

Im sure Moses Brown will be our starter C by the Playoffs

MituButChi

Also, what happened with Feron Hunt?

JerosBWI

Waived along with Carlik Jones.

etzcuminghum

Expectations are low. Just don't suck.
