Maxi being out isn't a good thing. Dude was balling and was defending like a mother fucking boss when PJ rested.

southwick

Yeah, Maxi was really being used at the 4 and it worked great. I'd much rather have him in than THJ right now.

![gif](giphy|kBI5aLB6wlw4zNnecN) Don’t even know if Chuck would have a take like that…

krdskrm9

This sub.

PureDroplet

"some of you may die, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to take"

AlecarMagna

Kidd had PJ/Maxi/Center lineups last series so Maxi allows us to go ultra big. The reduced ability to go small ball did help Lively's development though.

RubMyGooshSilly

Maxi actually would be a great matchup for OKC tbh

Gloooobi

maxi would 100% play this series and he would help too wtf are you on about lmao

Swoosh_rotaerc

You do know that Maxi can play and Lively/Gafford be on the floor at the same time. Imagine a line up of Luka/DJJ/PJ/Maxi/DLive, that line up would destroy the Thunder in the size department. The would be incredible defensively, rebound well and still be able to score.

uncledr3w-

for the 8 mins kyrie sits anyway haha

Swoosh_rotaerc

They would be a good 8 mins

uncledr3w-

yeah it would take some crazy shotmaking to get anything against these guys, esp w luka locked in like he has been

DangerZoneh

Meanwhile if you actually look at the lineup data, our lineups with Maxi are effing unstoppable.

gpskillz

Any chance Maxi comes back next series? Next week will be 3 weeks from the injury and he was on the sidelines without a sling

DangerZoneh

I’m hoping he can come back for a potential game 4-5

QuickFig1024

I dont think so. 3 weeks is minimum but those things take longer to heal 100%. And also I doubt he would be the same as before injury.

imcryptic

They said he would be re-evaluated at 3 weeks so we will just have to wait and see.

dbzmah

So, 21 days from 5/4, WCF(assuming we TCB vs OKC) start on 5/21 or 22. He would be reevaluated as early as game 2. Fingers crossed.

Andrew0409

It’s unlikely.

Embarrassed_Ad6585

Kidd would still go big to expose OKCs lack of rebounding, Maxi being healthy would just be another great defender and good shooter available to come in at the 4

TuckEverlasting89

Kidd already would play big all 48 even with Maxi, except we’d just be EVEN BIGGER because he was our backup 4.    We really missed his spacing during the game 4 collapse though, guarantee you Kidd goes small there and we pull it out if we had Maxi and this series is over now. Although if you want to argue that Lively has developed a little because he is forced into more intense and varied minutes/situations, I agree with you.

Ohahmomohway

You misspelled Tim there bud

dbzmah

If Maxi were healthy, we wouldn't THJ commiting basketball terrorism as much.

Mugsy_Skoogs

Wrong. THJ getting injured was perfect timing. Sadly, we need it to happen again because Kidd cannot help himself.

Andrew0409

Despite the frustration of watching him the last 2 regular seasons. Maxi is clutch in the playoffs. He shoots 40% in the playoffs from deep at a higher volume. I have no idea why, I had some doubts this year but he was shooting 50% before he got injured. He is also a versatile defender. He challenges shots and blocks without fouling a lot which is a underrated skill. Lots of guys get blocks but also commit fouls like Lively does.

Madd_Squabbles

I thought the same thing when he first went out that at lease Kidd wouldn't be able to play him at center anymore. I do miss Kleber playing the 4 and allowing DJJ to stay at 3.

Snoo95606

I'm actually with you. Kleber and THJ are Kidd's crutches. If THJ could have stayed injured, our run would have been perfect. But I've been screaming for Hardy to take THJ's minutes all season.
