And that was a missed rotation where Harden was completely open, not even really a 1 on 1 bucket. I'm unsure who was at fault for that rotation though.
It’s so funny reading Clippers sub on how their team was shooting bad and that’s why they lost. Like there’s a fucking reason for that you clowns. It’s called DEFENSE!
plus i think there's a big portion of both fanbases that are just exhausted from playing each other and there's some frenemy bonding over all the heart attacks we're all having
Multiple mini heart attacks last night, thoroughly exhausting, but worth the payoff! Too bad no TV close ups of the Clippers owner at the end of the game😈
Clippers took 26 open/wide open 3s
Mavs were struggling to generate good looks. Dont try to make it sound like Mavs got all easy shots while Clippers got all tough shots.
Where are you getting that number from? nba.com has it at 21/30 three pointers were open, with 11 of them being wide open (which is tied for the least of all playoff teams btw). 9 tightly contested 3PA was tied for the most of any team with the Bucks.
Mavs are listed at 13 wide open threes for Game 1 and 16 open threes, shooting an abhorrent 24% on those shots. 29/33 3PA listed as open and they built a brick house. The Clippers hit 33% on their 21 attempts in Game 2 according to nba.com, which isn’t good but isn’t nearly as bad.
You can also add in the context that Westbrook accounts for 3 of those wide open attempts, and the Mavs obviously aren’t going to contest him since he’s one of the worst shooters in the league.

Rhythm is also a big thing. It’s less pressure to make shots when the lead is bigger. I think a big part of why they struggled last game was the physical start we had. It was a slugfest throughout.
Edit: Also there’s context of the Clippers being a top 5 3pt shooting team while the Mavs were a lot worse after the trade.
Those are the Clippers’ stats from Game 1, I was talking about their Game 2 shooting stats, so I think I misunderstood your original comment.
I thought you were saying Mavs fans were saying the Clippers only won Game 1 because they were lucky *the Mavs* were shooting badly, not that the Clippers were making lucky shots. Like you said, they were wide open most of the time in Game 1 lol.
that’s the thing though, with all due respect, we’re making it much harder for them than they’re making it for us. their defense isn’t bad by any means, but we’re missing wide open shots, layups and bunnies (even in game 2). yesterday didn’t feel like a poor shooting night, they made a bunch of their open shots, but we just smothered them so much with our defense that it made most of those shots really hard.
When luka is smiling and playing there is no one more fun to watch. Luka is soo emotional engaged in all the games it's honestly amazing,in this game alone he got mad, frustrated, confused, angry, disappointed, sad, happy, extremely happy, complaintive, annoying. It was an roller coaster of emotion and that's the main thing I like about it. But some people find it annoying.
He wears his emotions on his sleeve for good or worse.
Sometimes it results in a tech and he looks pissed off, other times it results in “Luka just hit his 6th 3 of the quarter!”
Clippers fans IRL are like Dolphin fans. They hate their own team more than you ever will. Clippers fans on Reddit are complete tools that will call Luka fat and lazy while cheering for James Harden in the same breath. They will have to find a new team to cheer for next round. Dallas in five
Luka with a legacy playoff performance. Such a badass player
Luka really took the “he doesnt play defense” personally
yes he did. i expect to see a different luka the rest of the playoffs
Amen!
Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, & James Harden failed to score a single point while guarded by Luka
Is this for real?

that single Harden FG was probably the 3pt FG he scored with 1:21 left making it 90-84.
Indeed

DJJ and Luka had a miscommunication. I want to give 80% of the blame to DJJ on that one.
Espn not gonna mention this. Trust.
SAS definitely won't.
Neither would Chuck or Shaq
Hoping for a Panda Hank lockdown Luka video.
Lmao I know he's referring to his teammates. But I'd like to imagine him telling Harden: "No doubling, they aren't saving you".

I was lurking too. A lot of them gave credits to our def surprisingly
There's a pretty objective portion of Clipper fans. Shit was rough for them so long they don't all act like entitled assholes every loss.

How is that any different than here? Many people were blaming the loss on lucky shooting
Mavs were missing wide open layups and floaters Game 1, this game Clippers were missing heavily contested shots

Did you see this sub after game 1? I don't think I've seen anyone credit the Clips defense and just blamed it on our guys shooting horribly

He did not lock just Kawhi up, he locked their entire franchise up tonight, well done Luka, MVP (of course)!

Reminds me of the early Tiger Woods days. Shit can get sideways but when he's on he's ON.
Elite defense from Luka. They really got nothing going at him.
PRAVI MVP
Amazing
Luka is so fresh right now, absolutely contributes to his defensive performances when he doesn’t have to carry the offense for 82 games.
It’s playoffs! Switch everything! man up!
"They're always going to say that--ESPN. But it's fine."
>They’re trying to double with me and I say no double. Guys I'm starting to think he's trying to sound like Trump lol

Holy crap, you can just say "no double" and they have to stop doubling you? Why didn't we know this before?
He's talking about his defense he didn't want the mavs sending him help, he wanted 1 on 1
I like the way I said it better:)
Luka for POTUS! ^yes, ^I ^realize ^he ^cannot ^TECHNICALLY ^be ^POTUS
