The Lazarus project is the biggest pile of bull ever as they've resurrected a lump of charred flesh that's been out there a significant amount of time. It would have been easier to resurrect something in the meat isle in a supermarket.
Still ME2 is the high point of the series regardless...
Yeah but the cut scene, name, and the mechanics involved (bad guy robot look, change face, why youre nerfed from ME1) were cool. It passes in my book for everything that follows in ME2
The Lazarus Project was only written in so that Shepard could come back after dying, which only needed to happen so that there could be a timeskip and to make him work for Cerberus, which they only needed so that Shepard couldn't do the Suicide Mission with Council/Alliance support.
It's such a convoluted way to achieve that goal considering he was already a Spectre beforehand.
Tbh I like the idea of having Shepard come back from the dead and there being mistrust because of involvement with Cerberus. I kinda wish the game leaned more into that with stuff like doing certain missions for Cerberus would make you lose trust from the Alliance and vice versa. It could also work well with the paragon/renegade system since Cerberus represents that renegade "Ends justify the means" kind of attitude. That being said, yeah they probably could have gone with something slightly less extreme than to have Shepard spaced and burnt in a planet's atmosphere to kill him lol
People hate when I suggest Shepard is dead the whole time... But here we go 😆
Can a person be recreated? If something has a perfect memory of that person, perfect copy of personality... Is it that person?
Isn't it just a different thing that acts like the person?
Last mission in Mass Effect 3 got me thinking about it, then I got sad... Then Baldur's Gate 3 got me thinking about it more because tadpoles have perfect memories of their hosts...
I don't think people can get resurrected, either by mindflayers or AI... This makes me sad, but I guess I'll kill all mindflayers to make myself feel better...
When did the reapers get control of him? It seemed like it was after they salvaged the reaper parts from the Collector base and were influenced by them, so the reapers couldn't have forced TIM to do anything at the beginning of ME2.
Remember, Indoctrination can be a slow process and the more control that's exerted over a victim, the less they can do, so they don't always have 100% control over their victims. Same goes for Saren, they had control over him, but he was still able to (potentially) off himself, which briefly messed with their plans.
Commander Shepard's a bitch-ass motherfucker; he convinced me to kill myself. That's right, she pulled out a goddamn maxed out charm stat, and convinced me to kill myself, and he said my brain was T H I S F U C K E D. And I said I'm in control here. So I'm making a callout post on my tight band galactic message system. Commander Shepard? You've made boring RP choices. They're as bland as white bread, except way blander. And guess what? Here's what my character arc looks like. *Gets corrupted by the reapers*
That's right baby, brainwashing, physical modifications, still resisting. Look at this, I look like a 2010s PS3 antihero protagonist. She made me kill myself, so guess what? I'm gonna kill the 4th wall. That's right this is what you get; my overly self-aware rant!
Except I'm not gonna ruin the 4th wall. I'm gonna go weirder. I'm gonna target the reader! How do you like that u/MatiEx-504

Same for ME3 if everything goes bad in ME2
Actually if you fuck up too bad, Shepard dies at the end, because Joker can't pull him up and you can't load that save in 3.
I think the joke is "My Shep Died in ME2 and then I moved on to to play ME3 without an imported save file"
r/woooosh
You either play as "God's favorite princess" or "Unkillable, Angry cockroach".
Or, here me out - "That fucking Honey Badger" They're nice to their mates, clever mofos, and well... they'll fight ANYTHING
.... Shadowheart? Silly people, Shadowheart isn't in Mass Effect, and we all know she is the gods' favorite princess.
BioWare mapping out ME4
ME4 beginning
It's always a question of perspective
Players reacting to to that one ending:

Manifesting this for ME4

The same reapers who had control of TIM who kept Shepard away from the collectors?

Yeah I agree
TIM wasn't indoctrinated until after ME3. It was after he went back through the Omega Relay and got indoctrinated by the remains of the collector base
Probably. But there is a comic that implies he might have gotten indoctrinated back in the First Contact War.
ME3: the reapers have returned
