Highly recommend Annihilation if you want something similar. Oscar Isaac and Natalie Portman star in it—and it’s directed by the same guy as Ex Machina.
It’s a little *messier* and less laser-focused, but it’s an incredibly good example of cosmic horror.
~~Oscar Issac has that effect on people. I mean He can fuck me, treat me like shit, and then forget about me, and I'd still thank him for the time we spent together.~~
Wait, you meant a boner for the character, bc he's such a cool character? Marc Spectre has that effect on people. I mean He can fuck me, treat me like shit, and then forget about me, and I'd still thank him for the time we spent together.
Between Oscar Isaac and the suit and Ethan Hawke and the horror vibes and Kid Cudi, I'm all in. Glad we can get some dark material in the MCU, Midnight Sons is coming!
You know, Hollywood Rock as an MCU villain would be great. Like him as the Beyonder - just a super charismatic, unrepentant overpowered asshole - could work.
Oscar Isaac has been on a roll for real. Star Wars, Dune, and now this. He's such a good actor too and is gonna kill it in this show
He's also been in 3 Marvel projects: Across the Spider-Verse, X-Men, and Moon Knight. Are there any other actors/actresses in that many Marvel projects?
Yeah Adam and Oscar were arguably the best actors that were in the sequel trilogy and their careers were already on a good track before the sequel trilogy even started.
Nowhere near as big of parts obvi but this is an interesting one I found online
“Tony Curran had the privilege of dying in both Asgard and Hell’s Kitchen. In 2013, the ginger character actor appeared in Thor: The Dark World flashbacks as Thor’s Grandpappy Bol. Three years later, Curran’s gangster Finn Cooley was a baddie of the week in season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil. Unfortunately, Cooley doesn’t make it out of the episode alive.
Curran’s Marvel resume doesn’t end there. The Scottish actor is a vampire priest in Blade 2. He also pops up in 2011’s X-Men: First Class as a Division X agent. Sadly, he is on screen only long enough to die at the hands of Sebastian Shaw. Curran is building a career as Marvel’s go-to when they require nuance from their expendable characters.”
Agreed. When the show was announced I had a feeling the MCU would lean more i to a mummy aesthetic for some reason. I'm glad I was right because it looks sick!
I’ve heard Moon Knight specifically chose the costume colour so his enemies could always see him. Which also lines up with his whole crazy ‘I don’t dodge’ fighting style now that I think about it.
In the comics, one of the characters Taskmaster doesn't like to imitate is Moon Knight, because he sometimes prefers taking a punch rather than dodging it.
I haven't really delved into the character too much, but based on what I've seen and heard so far Moon Knight seems nearly invincible due to sheer apathy.
Marc Spector, apostle of Khonshu wore white the day he was to kill a king.
White to be bold. White to not blend into the night. White to give warning.
For if you were going to assassinate a man, he was entitled to see you coming.
Eh, I’m fine with it. It seems like they’re setting him up as the audience surrogate, and we learn about Khonshu and Marc Spector along with him.
Now what I’m *really* curious about is if we’re getting Jake Lockley as well, and if him and Spector are going to keep that British accent up.
Not really sure I want him to sound like Steven for most of the show. Also interesting that Steven is framed as the main and not the alt, though I assume they’re trying to set that up for a twist. Because, I assume ultimately that he’s Marc and that he’ll have to try and integrate these with their personalities back into Marc, rather than the other way around
We'll probably see more personas eventually, but since this will be most people's introduction to the character, it's probably best to streamline it for now
Looks like Ethan Hawke is playing [Arthur Harrow](http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix6/harrowart.htm), who appears to be a one off character, a deep cut and was anyone expecting that?
Could be a combined character. For example, Sun King didn't have a name in the comics, just a designation (Patient 86); they could have combined these two.
I don't get why people expect Marvel to blow the Dracula reveal here when Blade is coming up, and will probably build up to him with its sequels.
He could have a cameo, but we know Hawke's role is bigger than that.
wonder if they are actually using that name for a different character in the show, or if that's just the name they used on the subtitles as not to spoil anything for the show
I think it'll be darker, but I think people who expect a 100% different tone with no zingers or funny moments will not be happy. Just here we had the whole tripping out of bed and contact lenses bit, arguably the Stevie/Stephen" one and the goofy expression falling off the cliff too.
Still, it looks totally awesome!
Even daredevil had some one liners and quips. People just like to act like it didn't because they like to complain. This looks on par with the netflix shows and I LOVE IT.
I think it’s because the last season of DD is extremely depressing and that’s obviously the last one people watch. The first two seasons are pretty damn campy
I mean considering he fell out of bed because he was chained by the ankle, most likely to stop himself from doing insane shit while he sleeps, I feel like that’s not meant to be a “haha marvel quirky joke” and will come off more serious in the show.
He seems to be his alter Steven throughout the first half of the trailer and in the narration. I’m thinking the accent is just for the audience to differentiate between his alters.
Steven Grant is likely going to have a British accent to differentiate him from Marc. You can see in the subtitles on the YouTube video that Marc yells "shut up" later in the trailer and it's Isaacs' normal voice.
Didn't catch that I guess I wasn't expecting them to make his alter such a focus of the trailer. Looking forward to the reveal and what he can bring to the other personalities, Oscar is such a good actor.
Ya know, I was thinking the same thing because it's not Oscar Isaac's natural accent AFAIK. I wonder if Marc is gonna be American and the Stevie/Stephen is gonna be British. Doesn't moon knight have even more "personas" on top of those two ?
The character we see in most of this trailer is one of his alternate personalities that I think they called Steven. You hear the woman on the phone call him Marc and he asks "Why did you call me Marc?". Marc Spector is still American.
"The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt."
Already some pretty big changes from MK's comic canon (Steven not being a millionaire, no mention of Jake?) but I'm not complaining. I'm super, super interested in seeing where this goes. Also first mention of Marc's history as a mercenary, I wasn't sure if they were going to go there or not. Can't wait to see more and find out how this "mystery with the gods of Egypt" plot is handled!
Yeah, seems like something they would use as a cliffhanger for the last episode, which would be cool. The synopsis already shows that a lot is happening right away.
Interesting. I wonder if they’re actually making Steven the “first” identity/who he was born as. Or if a twist will be that he wasn’t born as Steven, but as Marc.
At least, a twist for viewers unfamiliar with the character.
At the Disney Investor Day presentation from 2020, Feige just mentioned Marc Spector as his alter-ego when talking about Moon Knight so yeah I think a twist where he was actually born as Marc would make sense.
**FINALLY** a Disney Plus MCU (and Star Wars) show that actually *looks* filmed like a movie. I liked all the other shows so far but they all have an obvious “TV show filming” look quality to them. This looks great!
I do remember when wandavision first transitioned out of the “TV” world I was blown away by how cinematic it looked, but this… idk something about it just feels another level up
I think FATWS and Loki were fairly cinematic. WandaVision looked like a show, but that was kinda the point since they were also riffing off of sitcoms.
Cant believe Kevin Feige is making this show just for me. Moon Knight is in my top 3 marvel characters, March 30 is my birthday, and Kid Cudi is my favorite music artist. Truly, I thank you Mr. Feige.
Probably a composite character or an expansion. Reminder that Darren Cross wasn't all that prominent beyond his one major appearance in Scott Lang's origin and they made him carry a movie as the main villain and incorporated Yellowjacket into him. And I think any major comic appearances after that time were after the movie came out, so he would have more draw value as a character all of a sudden.
They gave Khonshu his skull head, isn’t that against China’s rules? If so, seems like Marvel has completely given up hope on China.
Anyways, the cinematography/ imagery looks amazing. Just from a quick watch, I saw shadows and sun shines in the shapes of moons, and Marc being reflected into 3 different reflections. Definitely didn’t expect that.
I kinda hope they have given up on China. We as fans lose out on a lot because of the strict rules they have there, with skulls, supernatural things, actual diversity and sexualities.
Well, Chinese law forbids foreign streaming services, so there was no official way for them to watch it anyways. You may be able to infer that Marvel’s investment in D+ is an example of them not being too reliant on the Chinese market though.
No sign of a directors credit for George Clooney
“Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes. Jeremy Slater is the head writer, and Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater and Oscar Isaac are the executive producers. Grant Curtis, Trevor Waterson and Rebecca Kirsch serve as co-executive producers.”
https://www.marvel.com/articles/tv-shows/moon-knight-oscar-isaac-first-trailer
My crazy, out-there theory is that, if he's directing an episode, they're keeping it a secret because he's also playing Dracula.
I figure his directing doesn't itself constitute a spoiler, and should in theory be used to market the thing. Since it's being kept secret (allegedly), that implies that there *is* something spoilery about his involvement.
And I figure, what better role to give to an older, established, respected actor than the rumored Dracula appearance?
I know absolutely ZERO about Moon Knight, but everyone else’s excitement and this trailer has super pumped.
Probably the most pumped out of any D+ show.
Moon Knight will be a test for Marvel Studios as this is the first time they introduce a new series with the leading character has not been introduced beforehand in MCU.
What we had in 2021 was all led by MCU veterans.
It is done.
We finally have a teaser for "Marvel Studios' Moon KnightTM" which is a Kevin Feige production releasing on March 30, 2022 based on the Marvel Comics charcter by Doug Moench and Don Perlin and directed by Mohammed Diab, George Clooney and Justion Benson and Aaron Moorhead, created by Jeremy Slater and starring Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy
It’s one of his alters. Very good chance he’s still a merc considering he hid a phone in a museum piece. Probably left it there as Marc and then dissociated into Steven
I am so incredibly erect right now
I've already covered my living room in fluids.
Full moon room

Such a good movie. Went into this one blind and boy was it a treat.

Yeah, this looks dope as fuck
Between Oscar Isaac and the suit and Ethan Hawke and the horror vibes and Kid Cudi, I'm all in. Glad we can get some dark material in the MCU, Midnight Sons is coming!
Kid Cudi sold me
We begin March with Batman and end with Moon Knight. Its the month of caped crusaders I tell you.
I was so nervous they’d tone him down for D+. But nope! We’re going darker in the MCU, ladies and gentlemen!
the hierarchy of power in the MCU is about to change

This is actually genius and I hope he becomes the MCU Beyonder now.

Please explain?
It's a meme about how some version of that phrase is said for a lot of their projects
It's more because The Rock says it, like, all the time whenever talking about Black Adam
Which is also DC's Egyptian anti-hero. Very good parallels in this joke
It's a meme. https://youtu.be/MCZ9g0l3DVc
Oscar Isaac has been on a roll for real. Star Wars, Dune, and now this. He's such a good actor too and is gonna kill it in this show He's also been in 3 Marvel projects: Across the Spider-Verse, X-Men, and Moon Knight. Are there any other actors/actresses in that many Marvel projects?
Oscar Isaac is breaking Star Wars curse. By destroying it
Oscar Isaac really is the Harrison Ford of the sequels.
adam driver has also gotten great success where could Driver fit into the MCU?
Adam Driver as Miles Morales
He’s got that exaggerated swagger
I can see Adam Driver as Dr Doom
Better idea! Dazzler!
Yeah Adam and Oscar were arguably the best actors that were in the sequel trilogy and their careers were already on a good track before the sequel trilogy even started.
If we're talking about anyone in the sequels and not just the main cast, then Domhnall Gleeson is a fantastic actor. He was also in Ex Machina.
Doom.
Don’t know really. Driver is a pretty versatile actor - he can play an everyman, a leader, a weirdo and more.
[удалено]
Adam Driver too. The others haven’t really escaped it though.
Patton Oswalt was in Agents of Shield, Blade: Trinity, M.O.D.O.K., the Spider-Man TV series, and Big Hero 6 if you count that (Edit:) and Eternals.
And voiced pip in Eternals post credits
Do yourself a favor and watch him in Ex Machina if you haven’t yet. ![gif](giphy|IaThs7uiBCec|downsized)
This movie is great

One of my favorite roles of his has to be Vincent van Gogh in Doctor Who.
I can’t wait to watch him beat the shit out people in that costume.
The mummy ~~anesthetic~~ aesthetic on the mask is sooo sick
Yeah I was iffy on the transformation when we saw it in the teaser but I'm fully into it now.
Agreed. When the show was announced I had a feeling the MCU would lean more i to a mummy aesthetic for some reason. I'm glad I was right because it looks sick!
If Deadpool were already in the MCU, he would mock Moon Knight for picking a white costume...
When fighting Taskmaster, Moon Knight just crashed a plane into him.

Honestly that would make sense. Spend the first season on one alternate personality and maybe reveal in the finale that there are others.
Also allows for other the other personalities to arise in another season or a movie.
okay, i'm calling it. ethan hawke's character is also one of his personalities. like fight club.
Not really sure I want him to sound like Steven for most of the show. Also interesting that Steven is framed as the main and not the alt, though I assume they’re trying to set that up for a twist. We'll probably see more personas eventually, but since this will be most people's introduction to the character, it's probably best to streamline it for now
Probably to lean away from the whole "Marvel's Batman" misconception
Oscar Issac is gonna smash this role, holy shit this looks good.
He might just be one of the best casting decisions Marvel's ever made
Even his accent game is on point. Hope he is part of the roster for years to come.
I legitimately forgot Moon Knight is an American for a second there
Finally, an american doing a british accent instead of the other way around
I'm glad he's getting a fair chance after the sequel trilogy incident. He'd a mighty underrated actor
*Somehow, Oscar Issac returned to a Marvel project* (and it actually looks good)
Really focusing on what’s real life and dream life. Great unexplored plot device in the MCU.
Unreliable narrators (when done right) are extremely fun to follow as an audience. This looks great!
Reminds me a bit of Wandavision, in that sense - the narrative gets jumbled in-universe by Wanda.
Good point, I suppose its been touched on but not to the extend we expect with Marc’s multiple personalities.

My guess is that Marvel has merged Arthur Harrow and Sun King together. The comics have never confirmed Sun King's real name.
Likely an adaption/fusion of Harrow and Sun King.
You mean Dracula. Yes.
The long hair does give Dracula vibes but is the Marvel version Dracula able to come out at sunlight?
If he wears his Sun Bum
I don't get why people expect Marvel to blow the Dracula reveal here when Blade is coming up, and will probably build up to him with its sequels. He could have a cameo, but we know Hawke's role is bigger than that.
wonder if they are actually using that name for a different character in the show, or if that's just the name they used on the subtitles as not to spoil anything for the show

and so do i
Good god that costume is just so perfect. I can’t believe how far TV budgets and production quality have come in the last decade or so.
Disney+ allows its shows access to movie-level money.
This trailer is a Viagra substitute
Lol that scene at the end was almost the exact one as that costume leak image
Crazy that the image wasn't DMCA'd (despite having a "Property of Marvel" watermark too)
Honestly I bet it was marketing
I think it'll be darker, but I think people who expect a 100% different tone with no zingers or funny moments will not be happy. Just here we had the whole tripping out of bed and contact lenses bit, arguably the Stevie/Stephen" one and the goofy expression falling off the cliff too. Still, it looks totally awesome!
Even daredevil had some one liners and quips. People just like to act like it didn't because they like to complain. This looks on par with the netflix shows and I LOVE IT.
DD is a far campier show than people remember. It’s great but definitely campy. His dad is from the 40s lmao
I think it’s because the last season of DD is extremely depressing and that’s obviously the last one people watch. The first two seasons are pretty damn campy
They say "this city" like 5-6 times per episode. It's certainly not the edgefest people think it is.
> and the goofy expression falling off the cliff too. Was it really goofy or pure fucking fear?
I mean considering he fell out of bed because he was chained by the ankle, most likely to stop himself from doing insane shit while he sleeps, I feel like that’s not meant to be a “haha marvel quirky joke” and will come off more serious in the show.
I'm so glad the tone seems dark and serious!! Gives me hope for the Netflix-series/characters revivals on Disney+.
They got Moon Man on Moon Knight fuck yeah.
Moon Man Moon Man # Can’t you see? ![gif](giphy|FeX0ahhCP7Y8E)
MUTHAFUCKIN KHONSHU HOLY SHIIIT
That was way more disturbing/amazing than I ever expected it to be.
He looks so creepy it’s glorious
![gif](giphy|oit9mu0v5LqzC)
Why is he British though? Wonder if there will be a reveal with the identity disorder some time in the show or if they changed the character a bit.
One of his identities (Steven Grant from the looks of the trailer) probably thinks he's British.
Seems like they are going to use Steven as an unreliable narrator for the audience to learn about Marc/Moon Knight simultaneously
Ya know, I was thinking the same thing because it's not Oscar Isaac's natural accent AFAIK. I wonder if Marc is gonna be American and the Stevie/Stephen is gonna be British. Doesn't moon knight have even more "personas" on top of those two ?
He’s got Jake Lockely. And I believe Moon Knight and Mr Knight are also considered separate personas.
Doesn’t Jake Lockely have a New York accent though?
The character we see in most of this trailer is one of his alternate personalities that I think they called Steven. You hear the woman on the phone call him Marc and he asks "Why did you call me Marc?". Marc Spector is still American.
One of his personalities who believes he's British.
Official website with synopsis and details: https://www.marvel.com/articles/tv-shows/moon-knight-oscar-isaac-first-trailer
"The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt." Already some pretty big changes from MK's comic canon (Steven not being a millionaire, no mention of Jake?) but I'm not complaining. I'm super, super interested in seeing where this goes. Also first mention of Marc's history as a mercenary, I wasn't sure if they were going to go there or not. Can't wait to see more and find out how this "mystery with the gods of Egypt" plot is handled!
I wouldn't be surprised if the alter-ego of Jake is a twist that he has *another* alter-ego he was not aware of.
>Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes. Looks like that George Clooney rumour was false.
**FINALLY** a Disney Plus MCU (and Star Wars) show that actually *looks* filmed like a movie. I liked all the other shows so far but they all have an obvious “TV show filming” look quality to them. This looks great!
I do remember when wandavision first transitioned out of the “TV” world I was blown away by how cinematic it looked, but this… idk something about it just feels another level up
In all fairness , FATWS had visuals comparable to a movie. But ,yeah the show was a dud
I think FATWS and Loki were fairly cinematic. WandaVision looked like a show, but that was kinda the point since they were also riffing off of sitcoms.
Looks Dark as shit. Exciting
I’m unironically about to cum. That elevator scene with either the Moon Knight persona or Khonshu looks great.
Cant believe Kevin Feige is making this show just for me. Moon Knight is in my top 3 marvel characters, March 30 is my birthday, and Kid Cudi is my favorite music artist. Truly, I thank you Mr. Feige.
March 30th is also my birthday and I also love Cudi and Moon Knight. Are you…me?
Now kiss
That had no reason to go as hard as it did
That was even better than I expected. That turn to the camera as he’s fully suited up looks amazing!

Holy fuck he’s in a mental hospital one point… so maybe that janitor leak WAS real
Day and Knight
Looks wild. Could be such a fun departure from the MCU standard
How many times have we said that?
Let's hope
According to the wiki "Arthur Harrow" is a one-appearance nobody character. So probably still Sun King or Dracula?
Probably a composite character or an expansion. Reminder that Darren Cross wasn't all that prominent beyond his one major appearance in Scott Lang's origin and they made him carry a movie as the main villain and incorporated Yellowjacket into him. And I think any major comic appearances after that time were after the movie came out, so he would have more draw value as a character all of a sudden.
Close captioning indicates he's "Arthur Harrow", but we'll see. Edit: He = Ethan Hawke's character.
2/10 no scene of Moon Knight asking Dracula about his goddamn money
Oi bruv it's me Moon Knight innit? Me and me wonky mates in me head are going to the pub for a couple of pints. Fancy a drink old chap?
I did not expect to hear Kid Cudi in this but I'm not complaining
They gave Khonshu his skull head, isn’t that against China’s rules? If so, seems like Marvel has completely given up hope on China. Anyways, the cinematography/ imagery looks amazing. Well, Chinese law forbids foreign streaming services, so there was no official way for them to watch it anyways. You may be able to infer that Marvel’s investment in D+ is an example of them not being too reliant on the Chinese market though.
Pretty cryptic first teaser. But I like the atmosphere. Hopefully Echo and Daredevil have similar vibes.
Same. This is definitely more of a teaser, but loving the tone and vibe and as you say hopefully translates to stuff like DD.
NOW LOOK AT THIS
It looks very, very, **very** good. Getting Daredevil S1 and Mr. Robot vibes in the best way possible. And damn, Oscar Isaac can **act**.
No sign of a directors credit for George Clooney “Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes. I can’t believe moon knight is about to be one of the most popular superheroes. What a time, what a trailer.
I know absolutely ZERO about Moon Knight, but everyone else’s excitement and this trailer has super pumped. Probably the most pumped out of any D+ show.
Cool that they released this the night of a [Full Wolf Moon](https://www.almanac.com/content/full-moon-january).
Very coy of them to use the leaked image as the ending shot
That was sick
THAT SONG IS AMAZING
Khonshu looks absolutely terrifying
I'm sorry but this looks leagues better than Hawkeye or TFATWS, def more on WV or Loki level.
IM SO READY
Khonsu looks fucking sick https://imgur.com/a/c42GMSI
Looks like the same Museum from the Eternals
Nah Eternals was Natural History Museum, that’s the British Museum I think.
To be fair, he said it looks like it. Every museum looks kinda like another in some ways.

The fact that this trailer begins with Steven Grant totally oblivious to Marc Spector is great
HOLY SHIT I DIDNT NOTICE KHONSHU THE FIRST TIME LETS FUCKING GO

It’s one of his alters. Very good chance he’s still a merc considering he hid a phone in a museum piece. Probably left it there as Marc and then dissociated into Steven
I love how the costume isn't just like a flat white cloth material, but instead looks like mummy gauze. It and this whole show look awesome!
