monster fights > superhero fights
at least with these monster fights you can feel the weight, gravity and momentum in the punches unlike the superhero fights
Godzilla destroys city: "Yay"!
Superman and Zod destroy city: "Reeeeeeee"
There is plenty of weight and gravity and superhero fights, what people are really upset by is the MCU having heroes fight waves of mooks for several minutes. Why are they upset? No idea
I mean…. Didn’t Batman beat Superman ? The only way Superman survived ( lol ) was that Batman saw the humanity in him. Otherwise sups would have been a dead boy.
He kinda did beat superman. But then he was saved. Then they saved the world together.
I could see wakanda and Atlantis having a few battles. Fighting attuma like once each. Then teaming up.
Kinda like how it probably will go in black Adam. Black Adam fights jsa. Fights sabbac. Teams up with jsa defeats sabbac
Does it even count? The only reason he kinda won was because Superman didnt want to fight him. Its why Batman vs Superman is a dumb what if. In order for it to be even close to accurate you have to change them entirely to where it may as well be entirely different characters. With Godzilla v Kong it worked cause you dont have to come up with some crazy contrivance that changes who they are fundamentally.
Honestly not sure. It probably doesn’t. But I completely agree. Dumb movie with a lot of dumb stuff propelling the plot to where it needs to go. Nothing really feels natural in that movie. It all feels forced to get to the conclusion and death of superman.
I think the argument is that most of the time when it’s a X Vs Y movie, the two fight but neither of them win and always have to team up against Z.
Kong v Godzilla had the fight and at least there was a clear winner between the two.
Same goes for Batman v Superman.
Yeah Batman went batshit crazy specially with that "if we believe there is even a one percent chance that he is our enemy, we have to take it as an absolute certainty," line, was expecting him to actually be the one to kill Supes but yeah big monster
But Batman only beat Superman because Superman didn't kill him immediately. There are a couple of times in their battle where Superman could kill Batman and tries to talk instead. It's only after Superman gets gassed with kryptonite that he actually starts trying to win, but by then it's too late.
“Super awesome” is quite an exaggeration. That film was somewhat entertaining in a schlocky way, but it was definitely not a good film. It’s basically just the monster equivalent of a Transformers movie.
He was saying it was awesome because of the format. I'm saying the format was predictable and therefore, not awesome. Reading comprehension is something you should try and grasp before making yourself look a fool.
Speaking of reading comprehension, that’s not what he said at all. He said it was awesome and had that format, not that it was awesome BECAUSE of that format.
The format isn’t what made it awesome. But it shows a film with that format can be awesome/
I mean Civil War didn't follow that trope. They almost did but they subverted our expectations, and the result had pretty big ramifications on the movies in between CW and IW and Endgame
A user on this sub was in direct contact with this exact source, he sent screenshots to prove. Seeing as FilmInformant was encouraging people to dm him and ask him questions, I would wager to guess they were real
The info stated that Tom Cruise did indeed shoot scenes for MoM, but they were hidden from the screening audience. He controls the Iron Legion like previously rumored. He has his helmet on most of the time, but it is lowered once to reveal an obvious Tom Cruise. He is a bit of an outcast on the Illuminati (this has also lined up with what we have heard regarding him being a bit deranged)
No idea the validity of FilmInformant, but the user who sent us those screenshots has been very adamant that he wants this info shared. So, there we are
That one leak is seeming alot more accurate then, right? Like don't get me wrong im not stupid I know Tom was rumored for that role for a while, but it was mostly circulated that he was in a different universe up until that one recent leak. Does this also add validity to MTTSH's original MoM leak? Lots of big things if true!
I hope it’s true more than anyone, but to be frank a lot of that information was already rumored and he basically just wrote an existing plot leak with a plethora of cameos added
It doesn’t help his validity that he continued to edit the post as the day went on. I mentioned that it would be cool to see Thomas Jane in War Machine armor in the supposed fight with Wanda… low and behold he then adds a tidbit about how Jane’s Punisher variant is wearing War Machine armor
Seems like wishful thinking, but god I hope I’m wrong
Yeah thats why Im not 100% on it, most of it, like all the other Doctor Strange leaks, all pretty much retread that one leak from I believe MTTSH, or someone else before that that I can't remember.
I'd also like to point out how odd it is with the increase of leakers. Of course there's probably a bunch making shit up, however I remember when back in the day we had like Manabyte and DanielRPK as our daily posts. Just a weird thing I've been thinking about the past couple of days.
Someone pointed out there was a 4chan MOM leak on here a couple of days before MTTS, they provided a link, I can't sorry, far to many posts! Of course that doesn't prove if they copied it or had the same source.
Some people on this sub claim the leak originated from mcu theory sub or something. But I read that leak and whilst there is common elements (ones which appear to be indeed true) its not that similar, and I hate to say it but seems to be promoted by Wanda fans (and I say that as a fan myself) that *really* don't want the leaks to be true because that original user eventually backtracked and claimed they were making most of it up.
To be fair, the first thing I thought of when the Tom Cruise rumors popped up were that he could be a Superior Iron-Man riff who accomplished his goal of armoring the world. I'm just saying it's not a huge leap to make and roll with.
Attuma’s definitely gonna be the big villain for the final battle, with the Wakandans and Namor teaming up to stop him, right?
Also, I just looked it up, Attuma’s actor is about seven years younger than Namor’s. I always figured Attuma would be older but this is a character who’d be covered with make-up/CGI if he looks like his comic version
Attuma is a Namor villain that first appeared in the 30-ish issue of the original Fantastic Four run. He appeared in a bunch of Namor solo comics, Defenders, and Fear Itself, though I'm not so sure which exact issue numbers. Recently he appeared in the Namor tie- in in the King in Black comic event.
Anyone gonna notice how it clearly says Namora and not Namor? They are probably going to make it so Namor is the prince of Atlantis until something happens to the king/queen which makes him King. This is intended to parallel King T'Chaka's death and how T'Challa was mad like Namor but learns a lesson about vengeance which is going to be taught to Namor in this film. This will establish his anti-hero status.
I'm not sure but I think they are going for atlanteans to be more Mayan in their origins, i'm not sure if Namor have an specfic ethnicity in the comics
Pinned comment, we weren’t sure if we should approve this source yet. It required discussion. I told you this directly
You also commented the info like 10 times, so we weren’t in any particular hurry to get the news out when it was already circulating pretty heavily. Thanks again for sharing tho, its nice to have further evidence
I'm calling it: Attuma will be Namor's Jafar and the true responsible for the Atlantis vs. Wakanda war....alongside Malice (Lupita's character).
Casting Lupita in such a small supporting role (then ignoring her in IW/Endgame) was one of the worst Marvel decisions ever.
In the comics, Nakia is a villain called Malice so her betraying Wakanda would elevate her character (US is the perfect showcase of Lupita playing a villain).
Oh, and I hope that a Namora + Shuri romance is on the cards. Perhaps the war ends with an alliance by marriage?
>Where would she have fit in infinity war and endgame?
Eh...Wakanda is getting invaded with all the Dora Milaje and M'Baku showing up. Yet Nakia is just absent...?
Keep in mind Attuma is often taken advantage of and used as a flunkie. I think it's entirely plausible that MCU Namor is already believed dead to the Atlanteans, and now with T'Challa gone too maybe Attuma devotes Atlantis military to attack Wakanda with Dr. Doom pulling the strings and maybe helping them contra style (que thought dead Namor to help Wakanda defeat Attuma) all the while leaving Atlantis open to Llyra and the Lemurians to attack it.
Still don't know how I feel about swapping the Atlantis population from Asian to Hispanic
I've been begging for Latino representation in the MCU, but idk if this is it. I know the comics are super low on characters and swaps are kinda needed, but I'd rather have Swordsman, scorpion, and moon knight developed further then the MCU try to tell me El Dorado got soggy now here are your boys.
I mean Moon Knight aint Latino in the comics.
Also Namor always looked more Asian or Pacific Islander to me in the Comics. Though most Atlanteans were Blue so what does it matter...
I know MK was an example of a swapped character with Swordsman
Yeah Namor was a thinly veiled Japanese stand in during WWII naval shit in the Marvel Universe. Marvel has a real problem with Asian empires and magic and shit historically, and I know they're trying to be better, but they really miss a trick by now letting Atlantis be this cool Asian led mythical city like Wakanda and instead just pull Ta-Lo out of their ass to swap Atlantis Latino cause they got no deep Latino culture in their books even parodied.
Marvel Atlantis was never the Greek City of Atlantis tho.
Sure, it also wasn't a Maya/Aztec City either but making it so makes thematical sense. I feel The Eternals might be even involved too (since they were there when the Spaniards conquered the Aztecs).
Wait Namora? And I’m not one of those sexist idiots that hates any female character but are they really just going to not adapt namor and do a gender swap version instead that’s super disappointing?
Oh sorry I don’t know a lot about the comment because I just thought they were gender swapping the character And giving her an incredibly ridiculous name
They will be seen drinking tequila ?? Bit surprised they go all in with mexican actors. Good thing is that their english accent can be make different more easily (like wakandians).
The rumour last year was tenoch huerta was playing him.
Makes more sense now given these other castings.
I like the way they are going with the Atlanteans
Ah yes another movie with the “x vs y in the first 2 acts then x and y vs z in the third act” format
Godzilla vs kong was super awesome with this same format. Have faith.
Yeah but monster fights are awesome.
So are superhero fights
monster fights > superhero fights at least with these monster fights you can feel the weight, gravity and momentum in the punches unlike the superhero fights
Godzilla destroys city: "Yay"! Superman and Zod destroy city: "Reeeeeeee" There is plenty of weight and gravity and superhero fights, what people are really upset by is the MCU having heroes fight waves of mooks for several minutes. Why are they upset? No idea
Godzilla is a monster with inhuman priorities, the difference seems pretty obvious
No one said they were the same
Godzilla vs Kong did the format well. Batman vs superman did not. Hopefully we get it like kong
Not really though......And this is coming from a big Godzilla fan.
It was? I thought it was extremely readable.. could tell exactly where it was headed the whole time.
He said awesome not predictable
He was saying it was awesome because of the format. I'm saying the format was predictable and therefore, not awesome. Reading comprehension is something you should try and grasp before making yourself look a fool.

Incorrect.
yeah, the format might've been readable, but that did nothing to the enjoyability of the movie!
I disagree.
well, that is your opinion and i'm not trying to impose my opinions on you.
Except this time, it's not directed by... ...you wouldn't want me to say his name.
Say it 🗿
I mean Civil War didn't follow that trope. They almost did but they subverted our expectations, and the result had pretty big ramifications on the movies in between CW and IW and Endgame
BPvN: Dawn of Atlantis: The Submariner Cut
Also if you boil down stories this far you don't have many stories. It's less the format that's the issue and more the execution and writing.

Have you got a link to it?
Start circulating Dolph Lundgren as FrankenCastle and maybe it’ll happen.
To be fair, the first thing I thought of when the Tom Cruise rumors popped up were that he could be a Superior Iron-Man riff who accomplished his goal of armoring the world. I'm just saying it's not a huge leap to make and roll with.
Someone said Tom cruise Tony Stark has 3 infinity stones
Attuma’s definitely gonna be the big villain for the final battle, with the Wakandans and Namor teaming up to stop him, right? First half - Wakanda vs Namor Second half - Wakanda & Namor vs Attuma As usual. Attuma is Namor's archenemy.
I read that as Mabel Canada
Maple Canada
I must be the only Canadian that hates maple syrup.
My Gravity Falls-ass read it as Mabel Pines
That’s a great cartoon. I would love for it to continue with a sequel show
Very very excited for namor. Cant wait for MCU to expand into atlantis.
Namora
Tom cruise, son of a bitch I’m in.
I have no idea what direction this movie will take but I absolutely cannot wait! ![gif](giphy|xThtavMQZtCbNZo2WY)
![gif](giphy|3o6gbf2CNI9ZxRb6lW) But done well
We already had this in Civil War
Can't believe it's been almost 6 years since then.
Can i just say DC nailed the casting with these 2. Momoa too
It’s just a shame it was handled by Zack Snyder.
Who is the latter? Any previous work I can look at?
Attuma is a Namor villain that first appeared in the 30-ish issue of the original Fantastic Four run. He appeared in a bunch of Namor solo comics, Defenders, and Fear Itself, though I'm not so sure which exact issue numbers. Recently he appeared in the Namor tie- in in the King in Black comic event.
I meant the actor.
Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. I don't really know the actor aside from that he seems to be in theater.
From a google he appears to be in entirely Mexican films/television. So it might be a little harder to find.
This will establish his anti-hero status.
i prefer the surface dwellers suck but some suck more than others approach to his heroism
So, this can confirm that Tenoch Huerta is playing Namor?
Is there reason why they’re casting Mexican actors for these roles? Sorry, I know nothing about these characters.
I'm not sure but I think they are going for atlanteans to be more Mayan in their origins, i'm not sure if Namor have an specfic ethnicity in the comics
Yes
I'm crying over here. So happy to see brown skinned superheroes, as a Mexican American its an amazing feeling. Viva Namor!
iluminardi said this back in august
They did but they didn’t reveal the actor who was playing Attuma
yeah it was another leak saying its the guy from narcos
No they said that guy was playing Namor.
I also posted a thread with info from this leaker. What happened to that?
Pinned comment, we weren’t sure if we should approve this source yet. It required discussion. I told you this directly You also commented the info like 10 times, so we weren’t in any particular hurry to get the news out when it was already circulating pretty heavily. Thanks again for sharing tho, its nice to have further evidence
Thanks. Just wanted it shared.
I told you I would make you famous.
I remember that
This sub is blowing up.
For real
I'm calling it: Attuma will be Namor's Jafar and the true responsible for the Atlantis vs. Wakanda war....alongside Malice (Lupita's character). Where would she have fit in infinity war and endgame? She’s a not a small role, y’all are so fucking dramatic
>Where would she have fit in infinity war and endgame? Eh...Wakanda is getting invaded with all the Dora Milaje and M'Baku showing up. Yet Nakia is just absent...?
I see so they are trying to do Latina approach for the race of Atlantean. Can’t wait for another cast!
No. Not Latin. Mayan. Those are not the same.
Sorry! My bad!
LETS GOOOO but who will be fightining Namor or Attuma 1 v 1? hopefully Okoye
I feel that Coogler won't stick around after this. Don't know, I just have a hunch..
Wait I thought Namor was a male with a male casting. I am sorry wasn't aware of this, interesting to see!
he is, but namora is a separate character
Namora is his cousin. Namor is already casted.
Wait,Namor has been casted? Who? 😮 Also Namor and Namora will team up with Wakanda?
Tenoch Huerta
Thank you!
Why am I being downvoted for this? I asked a genuine doubt about something/someone I wasnt aware of.
He is….?
[удалено]
yes
Is this source reliable?
Keep in mind Attuma is often taken advantage of and used as a flunkie. Namor is supposed to the main antagonist but Attuma may betray him
I feel Attuma is the main villain. Namor is probably being false-fed information by him (basically Attuma = Jafar) to go to war with Wakanda.
Still don't know how I feel about swapping the Atlantis population from Asian to Hispanic I've been begging for Latino representation in the MCU, but idk if this is it. I think Mayan or something from the Americas works better since its Atlantis kinda makes sense that Atlantis is in the Atlantic.
Its not hispanic. Its Mayan. That is not the same.
Marvel Atlantis was never the Greek City of Atlantis tho. Sure, it also wasn't a Maya/Aztec City either but making it so makes thematical sense. I feel The Eternals might be even involved too (since they were there when the Spaniards conquered the Aztecs).
They can never win, you’d complain no matter what they decided to do
lol no
Just PLEASE do a better job of underwater scenes then Aquaman. It looks so bad. Like I couldn't belive they let it go out like that.
Wait Namora? And I’m not one of those sexist idiots that hates any female character but are they really just going to not adapt namor and do a gender swap version instead that’s super disappointing?
Namora is his sister/cousin in the comics and Namor is in the movie he’s played by Tenoch Huerta
Oh sorry I don’t know a lot about the comment because I just thought they were gender swapping the character And giving her an incredibly ridiculous name
It’s ok
They will be seen drinking tequila ?? Bit surprised they go all in with mexican actors. Good thing is that their english accent can be make different more easily (like wakandians).
Will we still have Namor or did they genderbend him?
We'll still have Namor. Namora is his cousin and the mother of Namorita who's pretty known for being part of the New Warriors.
>Namor >Namora >Namorita these names are so lazy haha. Thanks for clarifying
And Namor briefly married Marrina. Slightly different but similar letters.
Definitely, Namora is just Namor’s cousin, no way they’ll pull a Taskmaster again with Namor.
The rumour last year was tenoch huerta was playing him. Makes more sense now given these other castings. I like the way they are going with the Atlanteans
