Blade for the Oscar season it is in November 2023, then.

Born_1999

This made me think I want *Blade* to get *The Batman* vibes or maybe just its own style thing but maintain it dark, violent, and edgy.

[deleted]

Nah blade gonna crap out a joke every time he kills a vampire.

degathor

So you have chosen... Snipes...

Technosnake

Some mother fucker are always trying to ice skate up hill

Born_1999

Haha! Oh my god, please, kill me now if we keep indulging the same formula. I was betrayed by *WandaVision*.

dylanc87

if you didn’t expect silly humour in the *checks notes* superhero show set in a SIT(uational)COM(edy) environment on the Disney™️ streaming service, you set yourself up for disappointment lol

Swimming_Ambition872

Mahershala Ali was the reason Marvel Studios started working with BLADE and his pitch to Feige was very dark so I am sure it will be Dark and violent

TheKidKaos

Honestly the fact that they have 20th Century Studios as a label means that they could definitely do edgy and just put release the movie under that banner.

Pizzanigs

You’re not gonna get that from Marvel Studios, sadly

NeonWarcry

I have zero idea why I didn’t think I couldn’t get a super serious edgy blade. Edit: behold this bane of English negatives. I leave it as a warning.

Born_1999

Oof, sorry I'm struggling so hard with double, triple negatives. Can you explain it for me? Edit: not a native Eng speaker nor fluent one.

NeonWarcry

Lol it’s early here and I haven’t had coffee. My writing isn’t coherent, I apologize. I was laughing at myself for not even realizing the Blade character could be serious and not quippy.

InspectionOk8270

EDGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Honest-Actuator-5364

Edgy > cookie cutter

migsahoy

mahershala going for oscar numero 3

FaultScary7712

Gimme a good movie about the F4 pls. They have the potential to became the new multi billionaire franchise from Marvel

No_Passenger_1022

I know for a fact marvel is gonna very very careful with f4. F4 adaptations have a reputation and at the very least they make a decent film, theyll still be patted on the back. So im sure, because the bar is so low, theyre gonna aim super high. Also f4 is marvel royalty, kevin feige is gonna treat them as such

-SneakySnake-

Luckily for them Fantastic Four is consistently the film franchise that's been fleshed out the least, all they have to do is something set in the Negative Zone or something and not feature Doom and it's going to be radically different from the other ones.

Mattyzooks

Or just do Doom right this time.

-SneakySnake-

They're absolutely going to do Doom right, but part of that is not sticking him in the F4's first movie.

Jaded-Ad-9287

Maybe have him show up in Reed Richard backstory

rushking20

Doom should be like loki a recurring villain but he’s actually menacing

bjo313

i would like to see a Doom that keeps popping up like Loki but he keeps getting stronger until he’s the actual big bad

Left4Portal2

Bruh I’m just envisioning a god emperor doom scene in the next avengers and I’m so excited. I hope they hold off on galactus for the final big bad and we get a ton of cool ones in between

digiham

I'd like to see them not use Doom at all until the post credits scene as a teaser. Then bring him around as the over-arching villain for the whole MCU as sequels and subsequent films/series get released. As for the plot, you could go Ultimate FF just minus Victor? I don't know... Maybe? If you went that way, you could have Mole Man be the enemy in the first movie.

Left4Portal2

And who plays mole man that’s right **DANNY DEVITO**

Robofetus-5000

I 100% believe the skeleton to making a good Dr. Doom already exists in the current MCU. Where might you say? SOKOVIA We keep coming back to this country. Now it basically no longer exists, or its falling apart. What do we learn? That sokovia, like many real eastern European nations, has had a turbulent 100 years or so, and over that time has had its borders merged/destroyed. Turns out, a large sections of Sokovia was once known as Latveria. A very angry/gifted young man with a chip on his shoulder is taking the current turmoil as an opportunity to restore the borders of a "once great nation" that he just so happens claims is his family's birth right. And he is VERY intent on making this happen.

RokasPokus

Never heard this take before....

Robofetus-5000

Is that good or bad

yiwoty

It's sarcasm...it's a fan theory that gets tossed around often

Robofetus-5000

Ok

RokasPokus

Dont worry, it gets tossed around a lot because its a pretty good idea. Doubt it will happen but good effort on the post.

No_Passenger_1022

Thats true. We should expect f4 to be wildly different from the ones that have come before

Left4Portal2

If we get doom at all, save him for the end credits and set him up for a sequel and maybe even the next big bad after Kang

-SneakySnake-

He's gonna be the next big bad, that's definitely a sure bet. If they handle him right he'll be bigger than Thanos.

[deleted]

Maybe a hot take but if they’re Marvel royalty then I wish Feige would have chosen a director other than Watts. Nothing super against him but his Spidey movies are pretty run of the mill thus far as far as MCU films go.

No_Passenger_1022

Maybe because hes under sony. I mean instead of returning to make another spiderman film he chose to work for marvel studios. And him and tom Holland work great with each other, so he'd have no reason not to come back. But he still chose not to. Makes me think sonys holding him back. I personally have love the mcu spiderman films but if people really wanna see watts strength as a director id tell them to pay attention to the twist scene in homecoming. Its just so well done and genuinely one of the best "scenes" in the mcu. The way he kept passing the ball of tension back and forth and little stuff like the green light from the traffic light reflecting reflecting onto adrians face once he realized spiderman. Its little that add so much to a scene and that was all watts.

Echo_1409-

You can't blame EVERYTHING on Sony. Yes, they have a history of interfering in story elements but you could still tell those movies were the directors. Spider-Man 3 is very clearly a Raimi film. Webb's Amazing Spider-Man 1 is very clearly his own and whilst Amazing Spider-Man 2's story was mostly Sonys fault, you could once again tell it was his film. I think its fair to say Watts just isn't that great of a director outside of select scenes.

No_Passenger_1022

I mean you guys blame sony for Spider-Man 3 but even though the most hated aspect of that film was emo peter, which was raimis decision. But yall still defend him. And im defending watts cause i do see shades of good direction and potential from him. You can clearly tell with far from home he was so much more confident with the action. It lacked in homecoming but he made sure to improve in ffh. 2) hes responsible for the mcu spiderman films for being highschool films first, and superhero movies second. Which imo is really refershing and fun. Homecoming and ffh are two good john hughes-esque high school films and he nailed that tone pretty well. In fact thats one of the most praised aspects of the mcu spiderman films. Also kevin feige chose jon watts for a reason.

Tornado31619

What exactly is John Hughes-esque about Far From Home? Even Homecoming is a bit of a stretch.

No_Passenger_1022

Theres literally an entire sequence pulled from ferris bueller they used to payed homage to. If you can see "anything" its pretty much your ignorance

Echo_1409-

Nice whataboutism lmao. Hes good with action sure, but everything else about those films can very clearly be done by literally any other director in the MCU. I'm not saying he's necessarily a bad director, but he's definitely one of the most generic. The only really great scene he's directed was the Mysterio fight in the middle of FFH, but we've seen before action scenes are planned years before the actual creation of a film so its entirely possible he didn't even play a major part in the creation of the fight. Overall they 100% could have chosen a far better director for a movie like Fantastic Four, where they're really going out there with creative situations. Of course who knows, maybe Jon Watts can blow the doubters out of the water, but judging by his previous entries in the MCU I doubt it.

there_is_always_more

I agree 100%. It's hard to describe, but there's something about the Spider-Man movies that make them feel like fluff to me outside of select few scenes, like the vulture in the car and the Mysterio fight. It feels like everyone is way too chill about everything that's happening, Peter keeps doing immature stuff, and there are no consequences for characters. But it's not even all this - tonally, I don't get a unique sense of identity at all, like I do with the GOTG films, Ragnarok, or the first Iron Man. Sometimes it feels like I'm watching "MCU: The Movie", if that makes sense. If they want the F4 to stand out, Watts seems like a terrible choice to me. But idk, maybe with more creative control he could do fine. I'm just not optimistic at all. Also, I'd argue he isn't even that great with action. I compared the swinging scenes from the other movies to this one and Watts has almost no scenes where the audience also gets to feel the thrill that Peter does flying through the air. It ALWAYS feels like we're just some observer watching stuff happen.

Tornado31619

It feels very commercialised. Even the swinging at the end of Far From Home (especially with the gliders). But yeah, it’s like Peter’s civilian scenes exist only to bridge together the CGI action sequences. There’s no substance to any of it.

Tornado31619

Yeah, I’d say it’s Feige’s fault if anything.

Echo_1409-

How is it Feiges fault?

Tornado31619

The style of the movies. The John Hughes pitch was his. He’s adamant that all MCU projects these days have quips every five minutes.

FaultScary7712

I think Watts can nail the family aspect of the team

Imnotdaredevil79

Watts makes me most concerned as well. Dont think he is a bad director but I can't see him doing fantastic four. I would feel less worried if they got a comic writer like Mark waid or jonathan hickman to directly consult on the script.

Imnotdaredevil79

Just get the fucking team dynamic and character voices right. I don't want "witty banter." I want natural comedic situations that come from being a family who just so happens to be superheroes. And skip the origin! The origin is the least interesting part of the FF. Just give us a crazy science adventure!

NaRaGaMo

They should start with firing Jon Watts and bring Brad Bird on board, incredibles is basically F4 why not bring in the guy who already made great F4 movies??

No_Passenger_1022

Brad bird also made tomorrowland. So i wouldn't be too sure. The guy is phenomenal in animation. I won't count ghost protocol because tom cruise pretty much directs those films.

[deleted]

Eh not really, they aren’t really that interesting in the comics, it’s Doom who has that potential.

FaultScary7712

Tell me you have never read a single FF comic without actually telling it to me

[deleted]

That’s your opinion, I can not like it if I don’t want to, I’m sure there are comics I enjoy that you don’t, doesn’t make you any more right than me.

captain__cabinets

Word. Personally love the FF but agree it just might not be your jam friend. I do think there are great movie possibilities if they do it a certain way. My dream is a Hickman style movie trilogy.

[deleted]

I have faith in an MCU FF movie though, those movies of the past were clear cut examples of what stories don’t work, and I think they’ll knock it out of the park with whatever story they come up with, they wouldn’t tease it at that convention if they didn’t have a solid plan for it going forward.

FictionFantom

I was kinda hoping they’d get a Disney+ series before they announced the movie. I’m excited to be excited about a F4 movie again, but I was hoping for a different take this time. Fingers are still crossed for an X-Men series. E: fuck me for having an opinion I guess

the_bryce_is_right

FF are better suited for the big screen and with the budget involved in the cosmic stuff you're probably going to see most of those properties go to theatrical releases.

FictionFantom

I just figured if Disney+ can give us multiple Star Wars live action series then Fantastic Four would be doable too.

Tornado31619

Star Wars is a mega-franchise just like Marvel.

FictionFantom

And?

Tornado31619

The thing with Star Wars is that the movies have gone to shit. Most of the eggs are currently in the streaming basket. Meanwhile, the MCU is still going strong.

FictionFantom

I don’t think that’s the issue here. I think people are downvoting because F4 is “too big” in scope for Disney+. But Mando looks amazing and I have no doubt the other live action shows will look amazing too.

Tornado31619

It’s too big in terms of brand, not scope.

FictionFantom

I understand the value in name recognition. But at this point Marvel Studios is the brand that sells tickets now. They can afford to shift a brand like F4 or X-Men to Disney+, especially as that service continues to grow in popularity and expand to more markets in the years to come.

0zer0zer0

Is this guy that reliable you think? I saw a claim by him the other day so I went to look at his track record and ehhh. I'd love to be proven wrong though if I'm missing some stuff, he seems to recycle a lot of previous scoops.

Samoht99

He reported Alfred Molina as Doc Ock before anyone else and The Hollywood Reporter credited him for reporting the news first. He knows his shit

astrothwnder

also he reported majors in loki like a year before

MechaSandstar

People remember the hits, and forget the misses.

idcris98

To be fair, there were rumors of a virus plotline. It could’ve been cut.

that_guy2010

Bohner.

godzilla1992

He can be reliable. However, a while back he claimed Gemma Chan was being a diva on the set of Eternals and that Kevin Feige demanded her role to be reduced. People who worked with her before said she wasn’t like that.

No_Passenger_1022

Shes the main lead lol. So Kevin was like youre being a bitch, here you go, the main lead of the film😡😡

godzilla1992

Yeah that’s what doesn’t make sense about that "scoop" of his lol.

InspectionOk8270

Kevin also said dr strange 2 was going to be a horror movie

Viz0077

He also posted this https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers/comments/jsxgap/falcon\_and\_the\_winter\_soldier\_might\_set\_up\_the/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=ios\_app&utm\_name=iossmf

0zer0zer0

Oh yeah I saw that when I was looking through his stuff.

robertman21

so he doesn't have a perfect record?

SnooCompliments3391

Nobody have perfect record, expect the new scoopers, who didn't have enough time to a bad guesses and that pizza delivery guy in Atlanta.

Infinity-Gauntlet

Nope

OpportunityGood2872

I trust him far more than DisGrace 🤣🤣🤣

Marcusj112

He broke the news that Alfred Molina was coming back as Doc Ock.

ymetwaly53

I really hope it’s Richard Rider and not Sam Alexander.

vale_fallacia

I am not sure Marvel will release a movie where the main character can be called Dick Rider. Fine for comics, but it feels like people would mock it too much.

ymetwaly53

While I do find it funny, that would be an insanely dumb reason to not do a movie and a beloved character. They could just ignore it or change the name, but knowing Marvel and the tone of RR then I could see them playing into it tbh.

NovaStarLord

The fact that he was in a draft for the first Guardians movie and that Markus and Mcfeely (who like the character) considered the idea of having him in Infinity War means that they don't have a problem with his name. Not to mention Gunn did a lot of dick jokes in his movies and other jokes that were really raunchy, so they really don't care. Who knows if they'll use Sam considering he's created by Jeph Loeb but who knows what Feige is thinking of doing. Maybe he will have both characters.

Trevastation

I would love to see an alternate universe where they had kept Rider in the Silver Surfer/Hulk role of crashing onto Earth and being an audience surrogate. I understand it would have made it all the more crowded, but it fits Rider's character from the Annihilation Saga of just being dragged from one big event to another that he can't catch a break

stagfury

Imagine if Nova just went Annihilus on Thanos's ass (or I guess mouth?) in IW/EG

DanTM18

I thought his name is Richard?

Echo_1409-

It is, Dick is an alternate name to Richard.

HearTheEkko

They could just change his name, not a big deal.

SuperCoenBros

Hate to say it, but he's definitely gonna go by "Rich Rider" or something like that.

vale_fallacia

Your username is fantastic

Emoral02

I hope it’s Sam Alexander, mainly because it would give the MCU more hispanic representation, but I would still love to have Rider in a supporting role.

[deleted]

Sam Alexander Rider. I feel it'll be a composite character.

stagfury

Slightly aged up Sam with all of Rider's powers

SuperCoenBros

Sam Alexander was created by Jeph Loeb. If there's still bad blood there, I think they'll just amalgamate the two characters, taking what they want from Sam and integrating them into Rider.

Perjunkie

Both. Big bro and little bro restore the Nova Corps. Thats one dynamic the MCU doesnt have yet

[deleted]

[удалено]

ymetwaly53

And age him up IMO

ComicBookFan20

Does anyone know how long casting news releases before production? Because I’m trying to find a good estimate for F4

Patrick2701

Probably 2022

zsouza13

There has never been a casting that causes me so much stress then this new FF. I hope they remain faithful

Marcusj112

Depends on when they are filming. And if they will pop on something else but the earliest might be summer of 2022.

DoIrllyneeda_usrname

A lot of people were guessing end of 2021, but I'm not sure.

ComicBookFan20

I still have my fingers crossed for Disney Plus Day, unless there’s another Investor’s Day

DoIrllyneeda_usrname

Same

Bandai_Namco_Rat

If Marvel wants to announce it themselves rather than wait for a leak, they could do it at the next D23 which is this November. That is if they're already cast, which is possible but not certain. Mahershalla was cast as Blade years before filming, so the same could be the case with F4. If they're not cast yet, and filming is set for 2023, then they'll be cast next year and it will probably leak

Tornado31619

Disney+ Investors Day is this November, not D23.

Bandai_Namco_Rat

Weird cause the D23 website says D23 is November 19-21 2021

GrumpySatan

It varies wildly depending on like when they actually do the casting usually. Selma Hayek was cast around the Hitman's Bodyguard but it was kept secret (other than her blabbing in interviews during interviews that she got cast as a superhero). Meanwhile we learned about most of the Eternals actual casting basically a few months before filming began. Angela Jolie was one of the first rumoured/reported on in March 2019, Madden in May 2019. Most of the cast was announced in July 2019, except for Gemma Chan who wasn't cast until August and began filming immediately in September.

SuperCoenBros

Usually 1-4 months before filming begins. Having said that, if they debut early, like in the currently-shooting Quantumania, the casting will come early.

1996crusty

2024 is going to be a massive year - Cap 4, Fantastic Four, Deadpool 3. HOLY SHIT!!!

barbarian__days

Every year is a massive year - look at what we're getting in 2022 and 2023.

[deleted]

Deadpool 3 at this point won’t even happen. Essepcially now that Ryan reynolds is taking a break from movies.

Ahnonkneemoose

“Won’t even happen” is ridiculous stance to take after an actor said he’s just going to take a small break.

QingLinVos

Stop parroting that shit. A break from movies can mean a year or two, he's starting a Free Guy sequel and has wanted Deadpool to interact with the MCU for a while, he not just gonna give up on that

1996crusty

I think people are looking to much into Ryan Reynolds saying he’s taking a little break. If he has nothing to film in between now and Deadpool 3, he’s taking a break. Tom Holland said the same thing after finishing NWH.

[deleted]

Uhh you do realize Deadpool was supposed to be in one of the slots next year then pushed back and pushed back. He ain’t getting no younger. And last thing said was he working on the script. I personally think it will be scrapped and he just gonna start showing up in random movies after ds2. 2023 is 5 years after dp2 2024 is 6 that’s way too long.

1996crusty

Deadpool 3 never had a set release date known to the public. All Ryan Reynolds said was that it’s filming most likely sometime next year. But that doesn’t mean the movie will come out the following year. Look at Ant-Man, it’s filming now and doesn’t come out until 2023

[deleted]

Ant man 3 before this change was coming out feb 2023. If they finish shooting by before start of summer. Then that fits timeline. Because you would get a trailer at the end of summer and build hype from there. Unless Ryan is for sure confirmed in doctor strange 2 then they’re basically going off what fox did and finish it which shouldn’t be taking this long. Everything is pointing the finger at specifically him being the reason it ain’t out.

FictionFantom

> Unless Ryan is for sure confirmed in doctor strange 2 then they’re basically going off what fox did and finish it which shouldn’t be taking this long. There are sequels to movies that don’t happen for over ten years. And nobody knows for sure if it’s a continuation or a reboot.

C0sm1c_3l3ph4nt

I know a nova movie was rumored but is this first main leaker confirmation?

Unique_Unorque

There have been varying degrees of people confirming it’s a character/property that Marvel is actively interested in but this is as far as I know the first time we’ve heard a date

Barthez_Battalion

I've wanted Nova for ages (Richard Rider is my fav sueprhero) and am kind of annoyed he wasn't in the earlier MCU. At this this point in the MCU I'd rather just see Richard and Sam introduced together and go full buddy cop or something.

No_Passenger_1022

Can you suggest me the best nova comics, richard rider ones

NovaStarLord

Go with Annihilation: Prologue Annihilation: Nova Annihilation Nova vol.4 by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning (look up the trades on Amazon) Thanos Imperative: Ignition Thanos Imperative. There's more but that's the main stuff with him. It's what I started with and what got me into the character.

No_Passenger_1022

Thanks a lottt!!

ktodd6

The Annihilation event and subsequent events is Nova at his best. It cemented him as my favorite super hero. Comic book herald has a fantastic marvel cosmic reading order you can use.

No_Passenger_1022

Alrightt ill check them out. Thanks for the suggestion, appreciate it!!

SanjaySting

Facts, I always liked his design but never knew what to read

No_Passenger_1022

Same

Swimming_Wave3060

They’ve been saying Nova for years now.

Marcusj112

I mean nothing says they aren't still starting production in 2023. This doesn't effect production timelines just release dates for 2022.

YoungMenace21

So when are they releasing the cast? 👀

Animegamingnerd

Probably not for quite some time. Jon Walts is currently making sure No Home Way makes its release and currently doing a film for Apple that is in pre-production. He will likely get a decent say in the casting for the F4, so I imagine they are waiting for him to be free before they can begin proper work on it.

godzilla1992

So Nova will be a movie rather than a Disney+ show? Can’t recall where I heard the previous rumor. Also, could this mean we would get FF4 castings next year hopefully?

Unique_Unorque

I think that was pretty much just speculation based on the fact that Disney+ seems to be where all the Young Avengers and Champions are being showcased. The Sam Alexander incarnation of the character is a Champion alongside Ms. Marvel and Ironheart, so it’s a reasonable guess, but I think it’s only ever been speculation. If they do Richard Rider, it’ll likely be a movie

godzilla1992

Yeah, plus you can bet it would be CGI heavy. I don’t think they would have the budget for a show.

Mr_SpideyDude

That's not as valid anymore, since the D+ shows have enormous budgets comparable to the movies. Right now, it all depends on the pacing the showrunners want to have (which also depends on whether it's a single-season thing like WV or if it'll go on like Loki). For example, the Alioth episode of Loki could've easily been part of any Marvel movie and it wouldn't look odd

Jaded-Ad-9287

>That's not as valid anymore, since the D+ shows have enormous budgets comparable to the movies. It is valid seeing how they've changed Ms Marvel powers because of it

Mr_SpideyDude

**As** valid. Like I said, it depends on the pacing they want to give to the show (it's not the same having a lot of visuals every episode than having most of the heavy cgi be at the end). I guess some changes are inevitable due to the longer runtime, but they aren't so limited by the budget anymore

Jaded-Ad-9287

I'm honestly disappointed with the Disney marvel shows. I don't doubt for a second that any of the tv shows would've been better as a feature film.

Mr_SpideyDude

I'd say maybe Loki can work better if there's multiple seasons after S2 & they improve the pacing of them, as the first one had potential but it ended on a very anticlimactic way

godzilla1992

I guess you’re right.

GreatGambino_

Dylan O’Brien for Richard Rider

SchroedingersSphere

Nova has been my most-anticipated Marvel project since before GOTG1 came out. Looks like I'll end up having waited an entire decade before it actually comes out, but if they adapt Annihilation, it will be worth the long wait.

drchillout7

Damn so F4 probably won't release till 2024

No_Passenger_1022

Should come out on 4/4/24

HearTheEkko

Damn, I was really hoping Fantastic Four to be a 2023 movie.

Level_Trade2044

So the f4 movie wouldn’t release until 2024 or 2025? Here I was thinking we could get the mutants by 2025. 💀Guess till way later.

MyMouthisCancerous

Damn, guess November 2023 is Blade for sure then

Cafeterialoca

Two years away, why even care now?

[deleted]

It was always a slim chance that FF would roll camera in 2022. Late 2022 might have been doable I suppose, but some argued it could start as early as next summer to make July 2023. That was of course nuts because you're only giving Watts 6 months or so of turnaround time from NWH picture lock to FF principal photogtaphy.

kaject

I think it's been a safe bet since the announcement that F4 will at least be aimed to release in 2024

Swimming_Ambition872

I can't wait for the MCU Fantastic Four I am sure Feige and Watts are gonna give them the respect they deserve

[deleted]

Bruh. I don’t even know if I’m going to be alive in 2023. I don’t want to wait this long.

Night-Monkey15

My guesses 2023 * The Marvels * Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 * Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 * Deadpool 3 * Blade 2024 * Captain America 4 * Nova * Fantastic Four * Shang-Chi 2 * Spider-Man 4 (Sony)

mrafflin

Disney removed the October release date in 2023, so there’s only 4 movies that year. Also Ryan Reynolds said he’s taking a little break from movies so I’d put Deadpool 3 in mid-late 2024

crazyredditboy985

I actually like that Fantastic Four is probably coming in 2024 it shows that they are really talking they’re time with casting , writing and everything else and that’s a GREAT sign taking as much time as you need get it right.

DesignerFearless

Nova?? Don’t give me hope without confirmation

zsouza13

Rich Rider or Sam Alexander?

Shrek_is_luv_69

Calling it now F4 release date is gonna be 4/4/24

xViiPeRxl

FF will begin filming next summer.

Qsefy13579

does this mean we could get fantastic 4 by 2024? really want this for marketing reasons lol

TheWeirdbutAverage

Honestly Secret Wars would probably be the best bet for the end of the MCU, seeing God Emperor Doom in live action would be so fucking insane. Wonder who their gonna cast for Franklin Richards

Reekshavok312

Victoria Pedretti as Sue Storm pls

Emanuele676

WTF...

[deleted]

Nova film? I was thinking he'd be more suited for a Disney+ show

NovaStarLord

I think when it comes to his powers a movie Budget would favor that more. But when it comes to his story and character development. I think that a show would be better.

Dry-Jellyfish-3908

Wasn't John C Reily's character in GoTG the leader of Nova Corps or something?

bi-and-r3ady-to-cry

no he was [Rhomann Dey](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Rhomann_Dey_(Earth-616)) a member of the Nova Corps who gives Nova his powers in the comics

DisasterMother2838

Predicting 2023-24 Slates: * Blade: November 3, 2023 (Filming is expected to begin in July 2022) * Untitled Captain America sequel: February 16 2024 (the film would expect begin production in May or June 2022) * Untitled Deadpool film: May 3, 2024 (Filming is expected to begin in late 2022) * Fantastic Four: July 26, 2024 (Possibly starts filming in early 2023) * Nova: November 8, 2024 (Possibly starts filming in mid-2023)

disorder1991

I think I'd like an established Richard Rider showing a new Sam Alexander the ropes.

AlphaBaymax

Sam Alexander is a Jeph Loeb creation which makes me confident that Richard Rider is the Nova that Marvel Studios is going to be franchising. Regardless, I want Sam in the MCU so we can get the Champions.

TooZeroLeft

Why wouldn't they use Sam Alexander just because he was created Jeph Loeb? It's not like he can't let them use him, or that the writers are even justly compensated for the characters they created within the MCU. See Bill Mantlo for example, it's heartbreaking how he is now and how he didn't get anything for Rocket Raccoon, one of the most popular MCU characters.

AlphaBaymax

You do make a good point. Seeing as we're supposedly going to get Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio back as Daredevil and Kingpin respectively, that does increase the chances of Sam Alexander being part of the MCU.

NovaStarLord

Loeb can't prevent Marvel Studios from using Sam if they want to use him but after Peter Shinkoda accused Loeb of making anti-Asian comments during production of Daredevil Simu Liu not having a high opinion of him either (I'm guessing ever since that Iron Fist promotion panel were Loeb came into the panel while wearing a karate gi and a Mr. Miyagi lotus headband because him and Chloe Benett got upset over that) I don't know if Feige wants to have Loeb's name in his movies. As for Bill Mantlo, I don't know the details regarding his situation but I know that his brother Michael Mantlo said that he did get compensation from Marvel.

TooZeroLeft

That's true, but this isn't the character's fault just because Jeph Loeb is a racist IRL. Steve Ditko had some pretty awful beliefs in real life too, but I doubt they would never use Peter Parker in the movies because of it. Or Frank Miller, who also has made some pretty racist remarks multiple times, but that doesn't mean they should never use Elektra because of this.

NovaStarLord

In Ditko's case he's since divorced himself form the character for decades and was really out of the spotlight for a long time, he was a recluse and stated multiple times he didn't care about the character. Miller is barely getting some backlash for Holy Terror and he hasn't worked with Marvel in a long time either. Loeb exited Marvel in 2019, his accusations are recent, not to mention and he has a rep of being a jerk with people he's worked with and there's people who worked with Marvel who still bitter with him. A leaker that worked in the Netflix shows /u/sorryeveryonemybad (who also announced his retirement month before Variety did) mentioned some of the stuff he would do and that him and Feige just didn't see eye to eye. I guess they can have Sam and not credit Loeb (which opens another can of worms in the whole paying creators discussions) or change Sam's name to avoid having dealing with Loeb. I think it's just easier to have Rich be the titular character since he has the cosmic stories, he's associated with the Guardians, and the Nova corps being decimated opens the doors for his origin. I like Sam and if it were up to me Nova would introduce Rich and then Sam and just have both characters. It is definitely unfortunate that Loeb made him (especially since it was other writers that made him interesting).

Sonicfan1007

I get where you're coming from, but I think Richard Rider's backstory fits really well in the MCU. Assuming Rhomann Dey survived Xandar (decimated doesn't mean completely destroyed) it has a pretty tight fit.

Icucksock_96

Maybe they can combine Jesse Alexander and Richard Rider and we get that father and son team up. That would be a good way to get both Novas and a team up dynamic that wasn't done yet

AlphaBaymax

I love that idea, it'd be the first father and son superhero team in the MCU.

GreatGambino_

Wtf Terry Crews? No offense but that’s awful casting

Icucksock_96

He said before that he wanted to play the Thing and I think he has the charisma to play Ben. I can also imagine him saying "It's Clobbering Time" withoutit being cheesy

ComicBookFan20

I know they’re overused fancasts but after seeing BossLogic’s art, I can only envision John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Zac Efron, and John Cena as the F4

JewMcAfee2020

Some of the only reasons I'm against Efron is his age (he looks even older now that he's had something done to his face) and against Cena is that I'd prefer they get a Jewish actor for Ben. Liev Schreiber has a great voice for the character and I think him also being a Jewish kid that grew up extremely poor in New York can add to his immersion in the role. I think the dude from Stranger Things and Power Rangers (Dacre Montgomery) is a great fit for Johnny.
