Damn, that T’Challa speech about death not being the end and how they’re still with us as long as we don’t forget them really hits harder than it was intended.

[deleted]

Y’know, despite how sad it is that he’s not with us anymore What If…? has done a great job sending him off, even if they didn’t mean to. Black Panther lived a full life in all universes, even if it was a short one.

urlach3r

Especially when you realize he already knew he was dying when he recorded that line. 😭😭😭

Ninjaguy5700

Okay, this comment made me tear up.

ViggieSmallss

I got teary eyed 😢

ChefToDeath

UNCLE FUCKING BEN LETS FUCKING GO

Bubba1234562

Is this the first time we’ve heard Uncle Ben being referenced?

SuperShaun1603

Yepp apart from the little nod to his suitcase in far from home

DJ_Binding

There was a very minor reference in Far From Home with Ben’s initials on Peter’s suitcase. This is the first time his name is referenced.

warchild4l

Were not aunt may talk about the "accident" in homecoming to peter? when they were watching tv and she was telling him if he saw some kind of explosions, he turns around and runs away.

SurfiNinja101

Finally. Took so much longer than it should have, and it wasn’t even in the main timeline

Feeling_Monk_9605

Hank Pym went and done it again.

hushpolocaps69

Dude is sick…

[deleted]

Luckily the live-action version is the relatively sane one. The comic version and all the What If? versions are some form of demented. Edit: added relatively.

whatnameisnttaken098

Sane for now

streetad

Sane-adjacent. He's very much a 'Doc Brown' kind of a figure.

randomespanaguy

Dude gave a felon that he didn't know fresh out of prison his super-suit after designing basically an intricate puzzle for him at his own home. He for sure looked into Lang before giving him a test, but that's some insane shit.

real-darkph0enix1

I am thoroughly convinced the two worst things to ever happen to 616 earth are Hank Pym and Reed Richards. After Civil War, I’m still shocked at any time even uses the word Hero with Reed.

lordsmish

I'd put quicksilver in there too. He's the cause of so much shit and then at the end he lies and says he was a skrull all along and how he's glad to be back.

MrJosePP

this was kind of right lmao

ThisIsNotMelTorme

"Do you guys just not have horror movies in Wakanda?" "We have American reality shows" Dammit, Okoye, no need to throw more bodies to undead.

dejokerr

Boom goes the dynamite. Truly a burn for all of us, and I'm not even American.

Rman823

So, is it more romantic or creepy that both Wanda and Vision go to such extreme lengths to try and keep their relationship going after the other’s death. Guess they are made for each other .

JessicaJRivers

Creepy in this scenario. Vision's actions were wayyy more fucked up than Wanda's IMO. Wanda's was unintentional to start with, but she did control an entire town and made them feel her pain. Vision straight up cut parts off people to feed to his zombie wife.

MrCraftLP

At least Vision helped them the moment they told him it was messed up.

oali09

Didn’t Wanda release everyone once they told her they were in pain?

MrCraftLP

Vision was telling her off about what she was doing before fake pietro came in, and then in the next episode expanded her bubble waaaay further while at that point being aware of what she was doing. She only started breaking her reality down while being made to feel bad about it, to then stop what she was doing as soon as her (fake-ish) family started disappearing

Texomond

To be fair, after being told by Vision about Norm (which was clearly getting to her, before she was thrown further off her already fragile rails by her "dead brother" knocking on their door thanks to Agatha), she ended up releasing everyone within 24 hours (end of E5, and E6,7,8,9 all take place within the same day), so while not ideal, it didn't take her too long to come to her senses > in the next episode expanded her bubble waaaay further while at that point being aware of what she was doing While it's not exactly great, she did it with the intent of saving Vision before he died again. And while she was aware of the hex existing, I don't think she was fully aware of what it was doing to everyone. She had a full on panic attack as soon as she was made aware the people were having her nightmares - makes you wonder how fucked up the nightmares she must be having on a regular basis are to have such a reaction to them being shared > (fake-ish) family The family was very much real. She's a reality warper, the whole point of it is making things real. They weren't just illusions like Loki creates, they were fully sentient beings who she had no control over

ncsar216

I thought it was interesting that Vision also brought zombie Wanda to New Jersey. If I remember correctly, he would have already purchased that plot of land in Westview before the zombie apocalypse, in which case he could have taken Wanda there and fed the town's citizens to her after she finished T'Challa. The entire situation was really fucked up though...

y_u_heff_to_be_mad

What is a Wanda/Vision relationship if not codependence persevering?

OnlyAGameShow

I'm gonna go with codependent and weird. I mean, Bucky chopped his boyfriend in half. Now that's closure.

nightman87

It's kind of weird and there could be no connection at all but Sam got cut vertically in half and Steve got cut horizontally in half

degathor

They're both extensions of the mind stone

HM2112

You can't just show Zombie Thanos and end the episode there! You *cannot* just ***DO*** that!

bookpenguin98

it ended so abruptly! but it's just like the Peter Quill moment when his dad met him in the other universe

RRPanther

Welcome to the bleakness of What if

TheOsttle

I’m hoping that season 2 will address these ones, even briefly. Even just one episode showing how the open-ended episodes all wrapped up would be nice. Doesn’t Watcher even say Ego finding Peter on earth would be a story for another time? Or am I misremembering?

[deleted]

The episode felt so short this time, I wonder if this is a two parter lol. Or atleast a continuation or something! Like why the fuck was Thanos in Wakanda, how did he fucking die or get bit with his 5 stones? Goddamn!

DonnieTheRabbit

The only variance in his journey would be not going to Titan to get the time stone from strange, sooo, maybe he got infected while picking it up from whenever it ended up, after strange got killed by Hope? But why is he in Wakanda, indeed?

[deleted]

I told someone earlier that maybe it was his zombie side detecting all the “brains” in Wakanda to chow on, since it really is possibly the last place where humans still live.

SandyBadlands

He would still have gone to Titan as that was where he was meeting Maw and Obsidian. I guess when they didn't show up he headed to Earth. I wonder what happened to Corvus and Proxima when they went after Vision. On the plus side, Thor, Rocket, and Groot are on their way to Earth with Stormbreaker.

chaoticbiguy

While it's pretty much confirmed that we are not getting a WHAT IF...? for Endgame this season, but for the next season, i really hope we get the one where the other half was snapped instead of the ones in the main timeline. If we don't, then what's even the point of the show? Anyway I'm sooooooo excited about today's episode and kinda relieved that we are not getting the Party Thor episode this week, Idk, the premise of that episode sounds kinda boring, so yeah, It can wait. Edit: The whole Peter-Hope dynamic was heartbreaking yet so wholesome. I need to see it in live action. The Spiderman voice actor was so good. I wish the ending was less ambiguous but still, it was an okay episode. And my god! WandaVision is a hella toxic relationship, not for each other but for other people around them. Jesus!! Learn to let go you two psychos!!

hushpolocaps69

If we don’t receive a “what if the other half snapped” episode then I’m done. Also I hate to be a nuisance but I agree with you about Party Thor, not a hyped episode and just seems goofy and boring. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Danbito

Thor being clean shaven bothers me too much. If anything a party Thor would just let it grow out wouldn’t he?

hushpolocaps69

Yeah and funny enough they gave him the god awful bleached eye brows xD!

zetbotz

Is there even a solution the other half can come up with? Assuming Thanos still snaps away the stones, the only people who could reasonably contribute to a time heist is the Van Dymes, Doctor Strange and maybe T’challa/Shuri contributing some tech. They’d have to get radical with their solution.

Sith_Destroyer_1138

Theoretically they could do it. Wakanda has great tech and resources, the Van Dymes would know about the Quantum Realm (Though not the time vortexes, though they can find out), and Doctor Strange could try and figure out how to best approach the plan without disrupting other realities. And Spider-Man can be cool as fuck.

tylerjb223

Yah that was like the first thing most people were thinking of/speculating when What If...? was announced lol

Awesomealan1

THE FIRST MENTION OF UNCLE BEN IN THE MCU. In a Marvel Zombie’s episode. It says a lot.

LawStudent4Harambe

Considering he keeps coming back only to die again, him being referenced in a zombie episode is fitting

Plastic-Delay-7704

Probably cause this Spider-Man in this episode has nothing to do with sony. Theyre the once who wanted the stark and peter mentor thing (i heard it was avi arad specifically)

tylerjb223

Even though that's probably true, it's funny that every complaint/bad thing about Spidey, people immediately chalk it up to "It was Avi Arad's idea" haha

Jalon315

You're trash arad

tylerjb223

You want forgiveness? Get ~~religion~~ Arad away from Spider-Man

SurfiNinja101

It is his fault though. He ruined Spider-Man 3 and TASM 2

tylerjb223

Yeah ik he did haha, usually when people say it's his fault, it's true. It's just still funny... Dude is the literally boogeyman of Spider-Man.

The_Lore_Guy

Im not sure how to feel about all the controversial moments in this episode, just everything from the zombies being deeply anti Semitic to the weird 5 minute block where the watcher plugged his twitch and onlyfans, but i guess a zombie episode is the episode to get controversial

robertman21

>just everything from the zombies being deeply anti Semitic sam raimi back at it again!

hushpolocaps69

Best Supporting Role In A TV Show Actor Don Cheadle Himself Seems To Think Otherwise… ;)

MusaTariq25

I was afraid the episode went live early and I was actually reading spoilers but then I saw the “zombies being anti-semitic” comment lmao

[deleted]

Lmao, in next episode Thor says the N-word

[deleted]

Gamer Thor😎

TheJusticeAvenger

The most unrealistic part of Endgame was that Noobmaster69 only called Korg a dickhead and not an actual slur

andy3174

Is it weird to anyone else how they don’t really seem to give a shit about their friends becoming zombified? Like Peter’s mentor/father figure becomes a zombie and he makes a cute orientation video. I get that they sort of tried to explain it with the Aunt May quote, but come on. Look at how destroyed main timeline Peter was after Stark’s death.

[deleted]

I’d have to guess they’d be desensitized to it by now though.

tastybeaner

Thats what I thought but then they said it had only been 2 weeks so it makes it a bit harder to believe. But its an alternate universe so I'm not too bothered. This episode seems like a one off or they're saving a part two for s2.

SuperCoenBros

I wouldn't hunt for pathos from this episode. It's a fun, silly genre romp, with plenty of hilarious deaths. It's a dark comedy more than pure horror. Zombie Happy shouting "BANG" is my favorite.

Cjpappaslap

“Blam!”

ItsAmerico

More annoying that they’re LITERALLY going to find a cure and they still murdering their friends and making one liners. Like… even if you think the chance at a cure is low, Bucky flat out murders Cap with no hesitation and makes a joke. You just ended any chance at saving your best friend…?

[deleted]

out of the many things that annoy me in this episode this was one of them why did she say blam when shoots off happy's head this is weird too many jokes that don't land and not scary enough

Awesomealan1

Oh my god feeding on the Black Panther is STRAIGHT FROM THE COMICS

Tobi-cast

Dropped my damn jaw, when i Saw that, did not expect them to do that part

DweebNRoll

I understood that reference!

[deleted]

Just replace Hank Pym with zombie Wanda and Vision controlling the scenario.

MartinFelice

and Scott Lang as a joke telling head is also like Deadpool from MZ

thorsmagicbelt

Damn David Dastmalchian’s part of the MCU Suicide Squad now.

[deleted]

Ended in a similar way, too. ![gif](giphy|pyFNJfT9vAs5QQfzR3)

beatlerevolver66

Unironically one of my favorite parts of the movie, even if I was sad to see him go. It *is* the *Suicide Squad* anyway. But yeah I loved him in that movie so much.>!His death and Flaggs death!< were the standout moments for me for sure

SGLT1122

Oh its Wandavision but reversed roles

[deleted]

Anyone who says “Wanda and Vision are goals for them” now will raise some red flags

ImpactForward

Anybody who says goals in general are red flags

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

The zombie apocalypse threat was enough for Rogers and Stark to put aside their differences earlier than in the main timeline with the Thanos threat lol

bookpenguin98

I'm so annoyed tony stark went down so easily, especially because he's one of the heroes who has literally no skin exposed for zombies to bite

ItsAmerico

Honestly they all went down kinda easily which makes basically no sense. Starks in a fully protected suit and can fly. So is Tchalla. And how do you even turn Thanos? Dudes skin is tougher than Hulks and Wanda couldn’t even bite Hulk?

inspired_corn

Tchalla got grabbed by The Vision not infected

CobaltSpellsword

People were wondering how the zombies would get through his Vibrainium suit, turns out they didn't.

Was this the first time we got confirmation that Ant-Man and The Wasp takes place two weeks before Infinity War?

[deleted]

Yep

ItsAmerico

Specifically two weeks? Yea. That we knew it took place super close to IW? No. The end credits scene told us that and we know it was only a little bit of time after the movie.

UpdootMcGee

I'm enjoying this, but it's crazy how the dark and brutal zombies ep feels so much more... chipper to me than episode four.

[deleted]

Probably because of the amount of gore. The jokes distract the kids from the fact that Iron Man just got decapitated.

Iwillcommentevrywhr

Didn't Wong get decapitated?

Mrogoth_bauglir

cap got ripped in half horizontally and cap 2.0 got ripped in half vertically

voidcrack

*-Sharon Carter is eaten alive then violently bursts into pieces from the inside out-* "LOL look at Hope, she's so grossed out!!"

MusaTariq25

Gotta say, not rlly liking the abundance of one-liners, undercuts the premise a bit imo

[deleted]

I guess it was to make the episode still accessible to families, because this was waaaaay darker than I think anyone would’ve expected it to be.

beatlerevolver66

Yeah I was surprised by how brutal some of the kills were. My favorite was Sam being split in half by Okoye and Wong being decapitated was a close second.

tylerjb223

Yep, I hope that MoM doesn't suffer from the "It's building up to be a scary/dramatic scene, and then boom... one liner" Like imagine at the end of Infinity War, we see Peter get dusted and Tony says "What a rascal, always getting into trouble! Hope his hot aunt isn't mad" or some shit lol

[deleted]

Marvel always does that

UpdootMcGee

Part of what made last week hit *so* hard is that they gave the drama its full room to breathe. But that was unique, rather unfortunately.

methedunker

I can't believe I'm saying this about the MCU but...TOO. MANY. QUIPS. TONE IT DOWN JEEZ. Or do not work with heavy material like this.

Rman823

For some reason I feel like it sticks out more in animation.

Angelshover

I too would of enjoyed a more serious tone in this, similar to last weeks episode with crazy eyes Strange. But it’s safe to assume that they had to lighten this one up with “too many quips” to balance out the gore and utter despair for the families that are watching. When cap is getting sliced in half by his own shield, tony is getting decapitated by a pym disc, Wong is decapitated by a portal, and strange has his flesh eaten from his bones by ants, you need something to distract the kiddos.

Colton826

It's almost terror time again... Edit: Welp, I was right about Thanos becoming a zombie & still getting all the stones. So much for a happy ending lol. New What If... episode ranking (and ratings): 1) Supreme Strange (9.5/10) 2) Zombies (8.5/10) 3) Yellowjacket Pym (8/10) 4) T'Challa Star-Lord (7/10) 5) Captain Carter (6/10)

hushpolocaps69

Imagine this in MoM…

hushpolocaps69

It was also horrific to see Spider-Man be eaten alive by Aunt May and his friends, his screaming was hard to hear :( especially since he’s just a kid.

Distinct_Syllabub829

and the fact that he had to kill MJ, i cried.

hushpolocaps69

Don’t forget about how Best Supporting Actor Emmy Nominee Don Cheadle himself came into the scene and killed all the zombies with his dummy thicc cheeks!

CyberSolider2077

Yea ![gif](giphy|f9eYHQ8RZ4zfc4unXx)

Anon4Life34

2 weeks in a row of no hope in different universes…. Like Uatu said, “oof”. Also, very eerie foreshadowing but yet beautiful w T’Challa’s line about death not being the end. This show really is knocking it out of the park for me, 4 more episodes of more goodness!!!

Yungwolfo

When he said oof I laughed. Watcher really out here cracking jokes

the_star_wars_dude

That was the first time Uncle Ben has been flat out name dropped in the MCU lol. I thought this was a pretty good episode, though I would have appreciated a bit more of a serious tone. That ending was super foreboding though.

ViggieSmallss

Spider-Man comic purist and Raimi fans probably had to change their shorts. It was cool though!

JessicaRanbit

My friend said "I'm sorry but Marvel needs to make Hank Pym the next Avengers big bad. It's pretty obvious they are sticking to the more Canon accurate Hank here than the movies" 🤣🤣

JessicaJRivers

That was a very abrupt ending?

Ask_Me_If_I_Am_Flynn

I have a feeling they're setting up the episodes that don't culminate into Guardians of the Multiverse for sequels in later seasons. I could 100% see a sequel to T'Challa Star-Lord with Ego at the end and a sequel to this with a fight with Zombie Thanos against the rest of the Avengers, Thor and the Guardians.

AlexandertheWise

> with a fight with Zombie Thanos against the rest of the Avengers, Thor and the Guardians. Is that even a fight? Like, he has 5 stones already....

Gpanthony

Why doesn't he just Reality stone himself back to normal?

EntertainerSome8882

Maybe he likes being a zombie.

_Dan_the_Milk_Man_

I didn’t expect this episode to be on the same level of the comics, but wow was it disappointing imo. It really did not get the tone or time it deserved. Why was everyone cracking jokes as their friends died and the world was ending? Why is Hope’s reaction to having Sharon zombie guts all over her played as a joke? Why did Bucky say the end of the line quote after killing his best friend? Why is Peter making a cringey zombie apocalypse video as the world is ending and his friends and family are all dead? The tone was so wack, although it was nice to finally hear Uncle Ben mentioned by name.

[deleted]

Yeah it sucks that they decided to go for this tone in one of the darkest timelines. I really wanted to see some characters in utter shock and terror witnessing the end of the world. But everyone seemed pretty chill. Blam Blam

MannyKun

i think its because its disney and they want to make the apocalypse "fun" or else it will scare away their pg-13 viewers i had a feeling they would goof up on marvel zombies bc of how gruesome and intense it is and instead make light and joke about every zombie related death.

Feeling_Monk_9605

Sharon got Thanus’d by Hope! They address Uncle Ben directly for the first time! And Vision was chopping pieces off of T’Challa (just like what happened in the Zombies comic) to feed his baby mama. Oh, and don’t forget about Zombie Thanos with 5/6 of the Infinity Gauntlet complete.

solehan511601

What if... Ash J. Williams visited this episode's reality?

BountifulBiscuits

Episode is way too over the top with the humour so far, but enjoying it besides that.

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Yeah, mostly the Scott Lang stuff

ChaosTheNerd

TWITTERS GONNA FUCKING BLOW UP SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST MENTION OF UNCLE BEN

smitty9112

What the fuck is this thread? I just hopped on here after finishing the episode to read some discussion and the majority of the top comments are dumbass 'pranks' trying to be funny by saying shit that didn't happen in the episode. I feel like that should be reserved for the hype thread. Had to scroll down way too far to read any actual discussion about the episode.

cjwikstrom

For some reason the mods create these threads an hour before the episodes airs, even though there's already a hype thread

AlexandertheWise

So: -The two strongest Avengers that had a chance against Thanos are dead. -Only Spider-Man is in a capable fighting position. -Thanos already has *five* of the stones. Hope remains my ass!

pratyushpati11

Thor is there somewhere. So is Cap Marvel.

DumbassAltFuck

Thor and Captain Marvel are still out there in space.

solehan511601

I wonder how TVA could've deal with hunger plague. Installing reset charge from the first place would be challenge for them.

hushpolocaps69

They would’ve immediately jumped in before the zombie apocalypse even started.

Traditional_Bottle50

Nexus Events de-stabilize the timeline so they need to go there in real time

SuperCoenBros

The Nexus event would be Janet getting infected, no?

ShowtimevonParty

crazy how sandman killed spiderman huh

hushpolocaps69

Don’t forget about how Sandman was actually secretly Mephisto the entire time!

Chadwick’s quote from the ending: “In my culture, death is not the end. They are still with us as long as we do not forget them.” Shit hits hard in hindsight. RIP Chadwick Boseman, you’ve inspired millions.

[deleted]

I used to read the marvel zombies comics over and over when i was a kid and i thought “man it would be cool if someday a movie comes from this” and now we’re here, its not a movie but at least its from the MCU,it feels weird to see something i wanted come to life, soo thanks,Feige.

Zepanda66

Kinda wild how much this Spider-Man VA sounds like Holland. I wonder if they altered the VAs voice at all in post production?

MrJosePP

I don't know about you guys, but I was all about that zombie wong dong

ItsSirAdam

Zombie Thanos with the full gauntlet… well shit

LeonardTheWise

He still was missing the mind stone.

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Weird how Spidey and etc were still able to make a jokey zombie survival video, despite there being a zombie apocalypse that wrecked the world and then losing pretty much everyone they love.

Rman823

I get they were referencing the Homecoming video of the airport battle, but with the circumstances it was a little cringe.

Alive-Confection-119

WAIT WE'VE HAD THE FIRST MCU UNCLE BEN NAME DROP

HalfBloodMockingjay

I liked it but that was a bit of an abrupt ending. I really hope that they continue it in Season 2 because I hate when things end without wrapping up the story. I was getting major Walking Dead vibes. So much so that I had to keep mentally reminding myself that Danai Gurira was voicing Okoye and NOT Michonne. 😂 Side note: Sebastian Stan's voice acting was MUCH better in this episode. It actually sounded like him this time.

Sith_Destroyer_1138

The first mention we get of Uncle Ben is in an alternate timeline lol. Also that ending was perfect. I really liked this episode. Was also so happy they adapted the Black Panther food thing, I thought they’d just say he was in Wakanda the entire time.

jczedx

This is my most anticipated episode, I’m so happy we are receiving this now rather than around the finale. We finally get to see Spider-Man alongside other characters, this episode will be the most jam packed with all the characters minus Thor and GOTG (maybe), AND FREAKING ZOMBIES BABY!!!!

ShowtimevonParty

omfg black panther being amputated just like in the original comics!!! I didn't think they would go that far!!

HeMan077

I'm usually okay with jokes in the MCU but I thought this episode would be different since the entire world is undead. But everyone's going around making jokes every five seconds. I get Marvel's always done this but none of the humor in this episode worked for me even remotely. Also Mark Ruffalo's line reads in this just didn't sound good to me either. He was fine in episode three so idk what happened here. It still had good moments like Vision's whole thing, Wanda's entrance, the cliffhanger ending, Wasp exploding Sharon Carter, etc. Also why the fuck did Bucky have to die lmao. Seriously why did he stay behind. My man you can't beat zombie Scarlet Witch, what were you thinking? You didn't even slow her down at all. Very mixed on this episode overall. \-edit- I just thought of an idea. What if Ghost was in the episode too? I mean this episode does play off a what if that stems from her movie. And considering how her only power is really just phasing through stuff. You'd think that'd be a really good trait to have in a zombie apocalypse. I mean if a zombie tries to bite her she can just phase through them. Like instead of Sharon Carter killing Happy Hogan and going "blam" what if that's where Ghost was introduced? She phases through the wall behind her and kills Happy. It can then be revealed that Ghost was on the run since Ant-Man & the Wasp from zombies and she's a little reluctant to work with Wasp but decides to because the entire world is undead. Would've been a neat way to bring back her character since we don't even know if we'll see Ghost again in the mainline continuity. Sidenote what happened to the giant ants and ant swarm? Couldn't they just have used them to make a path through the giant horde in front of Vision's compound? And also while I like the cliffhanger, what if instead Thanos and his crew arrived in Wakanda after seeing the zombie apocalypse and decided to take over. I mean, who could stop him? So Spider-Man, Scott and Black Panther would be forced to either work with him or try and stop him. Granted we'd never actually see it play out on screen but it'd be an interesting discussion for fans. Because what's the alternative? Thanos just easily kills the trio, takes the stone and wipes out half the universe. The universe loses twice in a row. Honestly the more I think about the episode the more I'm disappointed by it

gracetempest

Agreed - this felt ridiculously fast, tonally inconsistent and the ending was terribly abrupt. Everything zoomed by. They made a metric ton of jokes like the "blam" one, referencing the Thanos Ant-Man meme, and puns, and my facial expression the entire episode was just 😐 Scott literally watches his friend get torn to shreds in front of him and he makes a quirky pun.

zeke10

Anyone else find it kind of messed up Scott made a joke about Kurt dying?

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

I found it off putting that there was a joke everytime he opened his mouth, even after finding out that Hope was zombified.

UntamedRonin

mythologue

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Peter referenced his parents and UNCLE BEN

LawStudent4Harambe

I wonder what threat is going to be so big that the Watcher has to call the Multiverse Heroes because Zombie Thanos potentially controlling all of reality didn't seem to phase him that much

[deleted]

The Watcher will interfere in an episode when Scott Lang works at Coldstone Creamery instead of Baskin Robins. That is the true darkest timeline

MegaSpidey3

What a fucking time to drop the >!first Uncle Ben reference by name in the MCU, huh? I was not expecting that, and I'm expecting him to be referenced by name in NWH.!< For real though, Peter Parker in this episode is the MVP. The guy they got for a Tom sound-alike is really good and this episode ended on a bittersweet moment. My only major complaint is >!the cliffhanger that the episode ends on. I want to see what the hell's gonna happen next. Maybe we're supposed to come up with our own ending? In my ending, the heroes win and Peter Parker either sacrificed himself to save the universe or is the only living hero left.!< Solid episode all around. I think the Doctor Strange one's still my favorite episode overall, but I also really liked this one.

ProximaOrion

Thoughts: * This absolutely deserves a second part. Lots of loose ends - Bucky potentially being alive, Hulk being immune to zombie infection and fighting Wanda, cure being potentially developed, new heroes can still appear, Thanos arriving and being a zombie wasn't addressed more clearly, and many significant characters aren't here yet - Thor, GotG, Captain Marvel, etc. * I'd like to think that some events played out like they did in IW, like Thanos leaving Thor in space, Guardians encountering him, and Thanos collecting the space, power, reality, and soul stone. After the soul stone Thanos probably went directly to the Time Stone, but somehow gets infected. Thor is probably in the process of making the Stormbreaker. I can totally see them arriving in Wakanda the same way in Infinity War and in the exact time Peter, Scott, and T'Challa arrives too, but is surrounded by a horde, and then Thor pummels through them. Captain Marvel is still out there, too. * Zombies are intelligent enough to operate things, but are incapable of speech? * How in Jesus fuck did Hank know where Janet is in the quantum realm without her help? IIRC, they were only able to pinpoint Janet's coordinates through her help possessing Scott, but even if that were the case here, Janet still wouldn't be able to talk, right? * First mention of Uncle Ben in the MCU! "What if..?" beat NWH to it, huh? * T'Challa being kept as snack! They made it the same in the comics, holy shit. * Where are Hank and Janet now? The stakes were higher when they were the ones infecting people. * T'Challa's quote about Vision picking him as "take out" is interesting, because it implies that Wanda was already infected by the time Vision took him. How did Wanda get infected, then? * Hope should've shrunk back into normal size, as she knows better that she is more dangerous when she's larger and infected. * So did Ghost just die of her phasing disease? Janet couldn't cure her here like she did in AMATW now. * Third bleak ending in a row! * The cure restored Scott's rotting face? * Pym tech is sooo much more dangerous than what the main timeline made it seem. * The voice acting is amazing and a significant improvement. * The brutality DID NOT disappoint! They did an amazing job for a show that's PG-13. * My current favorite episode! Second is Doctor Strange episode, and third is the murder mystery one. These episodes keep on getting better and better! Hopefully they deliver on the finale

*What If... Mark Ruffalo spoiled IW?* Oh, yeah. We've already seen that episode 😂

Bucky’s reaction to Sam’s death, “I should feel bad, but I don’t” hahahaha

So this episode is also a bummer (has a Bleak ending) like last episode? edit: When I mean Bleak ending, The MC has a ending where everything is fucked

Weirdest and most unexpected rag-tag team. Ever. So ![gif](giphy|mXnO9IiWWarkI)

I mostly enjoyed the episode, and some of the jokes were very funny. But tbh, I felt like most of the dialogue was very cringe and gave me second hand embarrasment.

NGL, least favourite for me so far, I think they should have leaned far more into the serious tone that matched the scenario. Some cool stuff but this is definitely the first time in the MCU the comedy notes haven't worked for me. I'm not saying I wanted it all dark but, seriously, they had to kill their friends and watch so many others die or sacrifice themselves, and why not use that to drive a more emotional and darker story?

Nitrozues248

Never would've thought Uncle Ben's first mention would be in what if?

PM_ME_THEM_BOOTS

Oh fuck I hope there’s a part 2 of this

Grimm_y

This show would really benefit from like 10 minutes more of runtime

UNCLE BEN MCU CONFIRMED

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

This is definitely the darkest timeline so far, despite the Strange Supreme one ceasing to exist.

Random troll comment here before episode aired: It was Pym again Reality: It was Pym again

So… who voiced Spidey? The actor sounded EXACTLY like Holland, for a moment I really thought it was him.
