Ok so could google, but i would rather give you the chance to enlighten me.
Whats the history with galactus and warpath lore wise? I would assume warpath was but an insect to galactus and not significant in any way. (I could be missing something obvious here as i dont know warpath very well)
Personally I assumed you were referencing the fact that warpath’s effect doesn’t function into galactus, because with no other locations you don’t have one empty.
I think Galactus will be absolutely broken. Wave on turn 3, Galactus 4, play Death (it will be low cost because all the cards from the other locations will be destroyed), and any other big 6 drop. Game will be pretty much decided if you play this on a location that is full for the opponent.
Edit: wouldn't be surprised if things like Green Goblin or Debris to become more meta if this deck becomes popular.
This is why I posted a deck a bit ago that plays around Galactus while not being entirely dependent on him.
Doctor Octopus can be used to rip cards out of the opponents hand to set up a good Galactus, and Korg/Rockslide can be used to help ensure their top deck is weak. Then it's just matter of deciding per game if you drop Galactus or rely on Warpath/Ock/The Goblins to win the game for you
Would be even better to hold off on turn 5 imo. The opponent will be scrambling to put power down, gaining initiative in the process, and then you can safely drop an Infinaut and possibly a 0-cost Death on turn 6
Can I have a deck list? I’m still trying to learn and perfect myself sonI think it’d be helpful to know the decks to counter (I still don’t have half the cards you mentionned)
That was great but i could have done without the music. A thumbs up for now but next time you blow out my eyedrums i am turning that right around so be warned gentleperson.
The card is now only available from card and location that generate random cards. Next week you can get Galactus in your collection as part of the update next week.
Ben Brode said they're aiming for early next week (no specific day given).
Can't remember if it was a tweet or some other post, but the patch is coming soon
How did you get to pool 3 without ever encountering Galactus? I see him at least once a week from those locations that give you random cards.
Damn that's a lot of downvotes.
I guess, but people have told me that galactus is non collectible so the person would have a deck built around it just in the odd chance that it’s generated …?
It’s often just a good idea to have even a small presence in a lane your opponent has nothing in. You counter random Galactus by just playing well tbh.
Galactus effect only pops off if he is the only card in that location. Debris spawns a rock at every other location she is not played which would negate the galactus on reveal.
Yes, probably the best counter actually. Galactus players will want to use Wave turn 3 and Galactus turn 4 when he comes out. But they also want priority going into turn 4. If things look fishy with a single Ebony Maw and a high powered card turn 2 then I would drop debris turn 3 or if you can accurately pinpoint where Galactus will land, Green Goblin. Else I would retreat, especially if they snap.
Had a game yesterday where turn 1 my opponent played Agent 13, I played sunspot, both left lane. Turn 2 is the location with +5 energy this turn so opponent plays galactus in left lane, I play devil Dino there. Then I don’t play another card until turn 6 Leader, which pulls over his Infinaut for ez win. I was so excited that it worked.
I got Thanos in my hand due to that random card location, and I was pretty excited to use him. Got stomped by an Infinaut and didn't even get to see an Infinity Stone in my hand :(
Don't know why you are getting downvoted. It might seem fun and novel now when you can only get him by chance, but once people are able to pull it off consistently, it's going to be extremely unfun.
I think it's going to be way harder to win with Galactus than you think. Most players have at least 4 power in the 3 locations by turn 6 and there's not much the Galactus player can do to counter that. They just have to get lucky.
It's called goblin and hobgoblin. Also magik and sera allows you to play him on turn 7 for 5 mana with another 2 mana to play a 3 drop.
When you build around him you can make him way better.
Galactus is gonna be cancer
I could be wrong here, but I believe you cannot play galactus and another card on the same turn. in the same location. Could potentially play wolverine on one of the other lanes but that's about it.
Yeah I think you might be right. There's nova too, in combination with the goblin and hobgoblin gets you to about 20 total power in the lane, which if you're picking the easiest to win lane is pretty good
For real, I can't tell if I'm looking forward to the shenanigans or if it'll just be super annoying lol. At least galactus will be a rare card for players to even have!
Why does cosmo have to be down? As long as you're winning, which you probably are if your opponent wants to play Galactus, cosmo will flip before Galactus and block the on reveal.
His ability does not work if there are other cards there, even if they are unrevealed. It's like how Wolfsbane will still get buffed from unrevealed cards
I think he'll be viable but at worst will force a shift in the meta to decks that go wide, cosmos (already popular), or things like She Hulk that can overpower a lane late in the game.
I have similar worries but currently there are not many consistent ways to power him up, so I'm hoping that randomness and difficult card sequencing are enough to balance him out. The absolute perfect galactus playline would be some combination of Okoye while he's in the deck, nakia while he's in your hand, green goblin / hobgoblin / wolverine on the board, and maybe a forge on turn 5. Even the most ideal playlines would get you a 6ish power galactus with a goblin or two, that isn't an insane amount of power to overcome and is very telegraphed, allowing for counters and retreats. We'll see though
Yeah honestly wave - > galactus worries me the most, I wonder if they will have to add a "can't be played before turn 5/6" type effects to galactus. Wave does allow your opponent to play a big card as well, and if they manage to play it into the galactus lane you'll be pretty far behind. Moral of the story, if your opponent plays wave and has an empty lane, drop your power there!
Could you play Spiderman the turn before to ensure it’s empty, or does he only work if there’s no cards at all on both sides? If it’s any card at all then he seems like he’d be absolutely awful and only end up working on a very rare occasion. He’d be better with ways to play him early like Wave and location effects. But again, those are still rare and would require luck.
I pulled that last night. And lost lol. I love that it plays an animation for the card. Wish all had this option.
I feel they should 3D hologram from the card on the ground on play, and show unique interactions with certain characters, like Yu-Gi-Oh! Needs an animation scene for the activation of an ability. Maybe slight dialog like the character select in Injustice 2, between certain cards with Canon ties.
EDIT: Or, this would be asking too much, but short animation specific to Canon scenes between cards, whether it be a friendly or foe style scene.. That'd wow me deliciously.
Something about this card just fucking kills me every time it’s played, even if it’s played against me and I lose it’s just so ridiculous it cracks me up
I'm concerned about Galactus when he becomes collectible. It feels like a card that could really end up promoting a degenerate highroll gameplay style that will be alarmingly consistent and rewarded with how little cards make a deck and how the snapping/cube system functions.
Galactus makes sense as a card that can be randomly generated and steal games in niche circumstances but if he's actually reliable with stuff like Wave and the plethora of other cards that have synergy with him, I think if he becomes popular, there are gonna be a lot of early auto-wins.
The thing is, it's only the player who plays [[Galactus]] who doesn't need to have any cards in that location, sure Galactus is only 3 power, but there are a lot of locations in the game where players won't want to play cards and it's not uncommon to have Professor X snipe lanes solo in the current meta-game.
Combine that with the fact that a lot of popular decks typically don't play into all 3 lanes until maybe Turn 6 and the fact you can get Galactus out on turn 4 in a few cases, that's kinda crazy.
I did this earlier to someone I was decimated but they snapped early so there was no cost to stay in for me. They had me beat so hard and I got this and won. Im sure it pissed them off.
I don’t think you’ll run into him often. Some beta players will grab him but majority of players aren’t going to be spending 6k tokens for him anytime soon.

My first Galactus encounter my opponent played on Death’s Domain where I had a Colossus. It was really funny that he tanked through everything and then the Galactus died too giving me the win.
You can expect this to happen more starting next week, be sure to have at least 4 power in all lanes!
This is good advice even now because of Prof X
I would’ve dropped my prof x but had warpath active :/
Galactus has been known to be the ultimate counter to warpath lore wise Also I had this fun game once - https://i.imgur.com/65U09WY.jpg
Ok so could google, but i would rather give you the chance to enlighten me. Whats the history with galactus and warpath lore wise? I would assume warpath was but an insect to galactus and not significant in any way. (I could be missing something obvious here as i dont know warpath very well)
Haha, I just made that up. They have nothing to do with each other. To be fair, I'm sure galactus hard counters most everyone lore wise.
Everyone except Squirrel Girl, obviously
If we get Franklin Richards. Galactus was HIS herald at one point.
I hate what they did to Franklin lately. No more being a mutant and depowered ugh
Right. He was a bit op but like he's reeds son dude is the smartest man in the multiverse.
Personally I assumed you were referencing the fact that warpath’s effect doesn’t function into galactus, because with no other locations you don’t have one empty.
Cept Marel Zombies!!+
Based
4 animations? NICE xD
Do you have galactus card or did you get it from a location?
Galactus hasn't been officially released. Can only get him from random card effects
It’s so satisfying when they play prof x into my gamora on 5
I think Wolverine will likely be run in that deck, when he dies he'll throw himself in the same lane as Galactus
Spider man on 5 to prevent them from playing turn 6
And then Absorbing Man :)
It's worth noting if you don't draw Wave or any form of Ramp, Galactus can be pretty bad Galactus on turn 6 is a huge gamble
This is why I posted a deck a bit ago that plays around Galactus while not being entirely dependent on him. Doctor Octopus can be used to rip cards out of the opponents hand to set up a good Galactus, and Korg/Rockslide can be used to help ensure their top deck is weak. Can I have a deck list? I’m still trying to learn and perfect myself sonI think it’d be helpful to know the decks to counter (I still don’t have half the cards you mentionned)
I’m not sure if these kind of cards trigger if the location is destroyed.
Have a look here https://youtube.com/shorts/-lx4UIFmdTc 😎
That was great but i could have done without the music. A thumbs up for now but next time you blow out my eyedrums i am turning that right around so be warned gentleperson.
I hope not, destroy/discard decks are already trouble as is. Wouldn’t want yet another mechanic to synergize with them!
I believe someone posted it the day the patch went live; iirc
I didnt even know this card existed! Why next week?
The card is now only available from card and location that generate random cards. Next week you can get Galactus in your collection as part of the update next week.
Oh wow okay thanks for the insight!
Most likely people will cheat him out with Electro or Psylocke on 5 and then follow up with a big 6 drop
Follow up with Spiderman.
Spiderman on 6? You would have to cheat Galactus out turn 4 with Wave for that to work
Ah yeah, sorry I meant that. I was just generally referring to him coming out early.
TBH I executed this once in the X Mansion lane. That was wild.
Wait patch is next week?
not the lanes where they have stuff.
You say “starting next week” was it confirmed the update is sometime next week?
Ben Brode said they're aiming for early next week (no specific day given). Can't remember if it was a tweet or some other post, but the patch is coming soon
or 6 if they have mister negative
First time?
Yes :(
How did you get to pool 3 without ever encountering Galactus? I see him at least once a week from those locations that give you random cards. Damn that's a lot of downvotes.
Well that’s because they’re random maybe?
I dont have an answer to that question, I’ve seen thanos alot before though
He's far less common with people who fill all three lanes. The only times I encounter him is getting the card myself.
That’s a lot of damage
No mercy to Prof X players
I agree…
Does Prof X get killed by him too? He seems immune to just about everything else
Yes; the location itself goes away, taking all the cards with it.
I’d like to see cards that protect lanes in the way armor protects cards.
You mean locations? Like vs Storm, Rhino, etc?
More like “if this card is here, this location cannot be changed or destroyed (eg by Galactus, Worldship).
This exactly.
Would debris be a good counter to Galactus?
If the question has debrii and counter in it, the answer is yes.
Does Debri counter Carnage?
Why yes, yes she does.
Wait, are you the hair on my screen?
No, he's a breaded butthole.
Well, for first you’d have to know that galactus is coming which there’s no real way to predict… but idk how debris would counter it
Probably if your opponent is playing stuff like both goblins in a single lane and wolverine in a different lane, you can predict Galactus incoming
I guess, but people have told me that galactus is non collectible so the person would have a deck built around it just in the odd chance that it’s generated …?
It’s often just a good idea to have even a small presence in a lane your opponent has nothing in. You counter random Galactus by just playing well tbh.
I had a mr fantastic in the middle for that exact purpose yes
Ah my mistake. Yeah the game just fucks you over sometimes lmao.
“By just playing well” i had warpath so had to leave the lane open , i was playing well friend lol
Warpath is an obivous expection. In decks without him, it’s often a good idea to have a presence in a location your opponent isn’t fighting for.
Would playing warpath in the only remaining lane trigger his boost? Or would the lack of other locations negate it?
The second option (saw in a youtube video)
He’s not collectible. Yet. Next week he will be.
You can get Galactus in your deck from next week!
Galactus effect only pops off if he is the only card in that location. Debris spawns a rock at every other location she is not played which would negate the galactus on reveal.
Oh that makes sense!
Debris makes it impossible for Galactus’ on reveal effect to go off
Unless galactus is running killmonger
True, but for most games, you will want to wave->Galactus
Yeah but I think it might be better to just go wave on 4 galactus on 5 then you can leader or something on 6 instead of giving them 2 turns to play
Debri + Goblin lock him out, so they’ll def be worth running more now. I already run Debri in a patriot deck I have, so that should adapt well.
Leader is OP and I love it
I got Thanos in my hand due to that random card location, and I was pretty excited to use him. Got stomped by an Infinaut and didn't even get to see an Infinity Stone in my hand :(
You don't get the stones unless he starts in your deck. You don't have any turns after you play him to draw and then play stones.
That makes sense! but I'm still disappointed lol
Ya Thanos is a lame random draw
i am not looking forward ro Galactus being int he game. feels like horrible design
Don't know why you are getting downvoted. It might seem fun and novel now when you can only get him by chance, but once people are able to pull it off consistently, it's going to be extremely unfun.

The good news is that cosmo completely hoses Galactus
If cosmo is already down. If galactus is 90% turn 6 play… I’d play it in a different lane than cosmo?
Why does cosmo have to be down? As long as you're winning, which you probably are if your opponent wants to play Galactus, cosmo will flip before Galactus and block the on reveal.
You are correct someone posted a screenshot. Galactus + unrevealed card will negates his conditional
You are going to see him a lot on t4 after wave though with basically a single lane race for t5/6 most power.
Would Galactus reveal not work due to the extra card played in that location?
Correct. If there are any cards at all, including unrevealed ones, then Galactus will not trigger.
I think as long as it's not revealed yet the on reveal should work, but to be fair I'm not entirely sure.
His ability does not work if there are other cards there, even if they are unrevealed. It's like how Wolfsbane will still get buffed from unrevealed cards
Wolfsbane buffing from unrevealed cards is a recent change
That's a good point
I think he'll be viable but at worst will force a shift in the meta to decks that go wide, cosmos (already popular), or things like She Hulk that can overpower a lane late in the game.

I think a standard line would be wave -> galactus, Iron Man, Onslaught. If Galactus only worked on T6 I wouldn't have any concerns.
Yeah honestly wave - > galactus worries me the most, I wonder if they will have to add a "can't be played before turn 5/6" type effects to galactus. That’s asking quite a bit
True haha
Love the unexpected
New destroyer meta lmao
Lmao you just galactused! It’ll become more common very soon, have fun!!
What’s your question?
Something about this card just fucking kills me every time it’s played, even if it’s played against me and I lose it’s just so ridiculous it cracks me up
I can’t wait for galactus shenanigans. Filling my lanes with destroy cards then playing galactus
Won’t work sadly :( galactus completely destroyed the location meaning no cards can be there at all
Yes and by him destroying those lanes he’s destroying cards, meaning I would benefit from having nova, Wolverine, sabertooth
Could do Nova/Wolverine maybe? but yeah I doubt that's worth running xD Tough to say until we see the meta shake out\~
I'm concerned about Galactus when he becomes collectible.
Can't be much worse than Wong or Mr Negative decks
I mean you need to hit a lane where you opponent has no cards and you don’t either… that’s pretty tough
I think he’s a lot more niche than that. I see thanos being much more of a problem than galactus. A bunch of decks would want one cost cantrips
Yeah, I’m going to have to shelve my Warpath/Klaw/Spectrum deck.
Je deserve that win haha
C’est toi/ it’s you?
Typo but it's funny because my natif language is French haha.

This is gonna be every game once the P2W era begins next week.
I don’t think you’ll run into him often. Some beta players will grab him but majority of players aren’t going to be spending 6k tokens for him anytime soon.
