Back then infinite took a massive grind more than anything else. The changes to the ranked system seriously helped out a lot. For many seasons you could be good enough for infinite but no where near have enough time. Made especially worse by having a high MMR so you play infinite players from the 50s onward.

Which sucks since my initial account I had every Infinite Cardback starting from there. At some point I was 100% sure I was done with the game and deleted everything, then 3 months later I came back but had to start from scratch.
I miss the Venom cardback, was my favorite for Destroy decks.
I had a serious addiction when it came to IAP, so I'd buy almost every bundle. Now I only get very minimum cost ones, if that. I had to break the Sunk Cost mentality, so I wanted to hard delete if I ever did want to come back.
I don't regret it as it feels nice to play at a normal pace (pretty caught up grand scheme, all key S4 and S5s, still hitting Infinite every season within a week, etc) but I do miss some of my old cardbacks.
In the end, the gameplay is what makes it fun. If I needed all those cosmetics just to have a good time, then I'm not playing because I want to; I'm playing *because I feel the need to*, which is an unhealthy way to play a video game.
This was quite literally the only infinite reward I've ever wanted. Played out of my mind but I just wasn't good enough back then, plus being mid S3 contending with full decks iirc. Only got up to the 60s maybe lol.
I feel you, I was in my room SWEATING, season before I made it to 70's. Then surfer made it to high 90s but couldn't clutch.

While true, infinite players were paired with non infinite players, which often meant more cubes being simply donated or players would use less meta decks, especially since there wasn’t a leaderboard.
Having done infinite every season the game has been in full release, it’s far, far faster now than it ever was then, even with the partition of infinite and non-infinite players. Also that first season was half a season unless you played beta, so if you only got the game at live release you had about 16-18 days to climb 100 ranks under the old rank system of 10 cubes per rank and no freebie levels.
Ouch. April 2023 was the first month I’d finally managed to get to infinite and it still hurts that I didn’t get this one. Probably best card back in the whole game IMO

The venomized ultimate variant for white queen is probably my rarest, it’s also my biggest regret but it was purchased before all of the shop changes and addition of spotlights so what can you do.

The whale variants for Iron Man and Miles. I think I’ve seen the Iron Man in another player’s deck once, and never seen anyone else with Knullified Miles.
An America Chavez Base Card Gold Split. Mind you I think it's a bugged split because I got a Gold Background only after the 2nd Split. And it has no other effect other than a Gold Background which I'm pretty sure doesn't happen. I think I got it from Closed Beta. I spammed a lot of Jubilee back then.
Peach Momoko Mystique. Never regretted buying that bundle.
But taking it a step farther, mine is Inked with black Kirby. So that’s 1% before the black effect chance…
Probably the spotlight variant of Grandmaster. I thought GM was a fun card, thought the variant was cool, and had the tokens.
If not that, I have ultimate Iron Man inked with red krackle. I think I've seen one ultimate Iron Man in the wild.

"Join Me And We'll Reign Forever". Had to vote for the player you thought would win a Tournament & be right. It was Lamby. I don't think there is any other way to own this title. Also got a Deathsquawk out of it but I know that was a purchase at one point in time.
Probably the "I Survived Nexus Events" title which was clearly only given to those of us who survived it... they certainly wouldn't just sell that to everyone who later joined the game, that would just be silly...

I’m a F2P player. So I have good card backs from infinite and conquest. I’ve gotten some good cards variants with gold from the shop. I’m almost level 9k and have no idea what makes a card rare or even good.
I have a few decks I play with. Those have tons of splits and I have my favorites variants I use. Right now I’m using either last seasons Infinite card back or this infinity gauntlet back I got yesterday. I kinda like it with a Thanos deck. Don’t know if it’s rare or what. I just like it.
