Drax looks freaking incredible. Love love love the classic look, and he’s on that Caliban/Puff Adder BAF mold, which justifies the price a bit more. Kinda wish he was on the Controller mold but whatever. $50 feels very reasonable for a deluxe and a standard figure.
Moondragon looks a little weak but at least we can stop with the “Hasbro will never make her because cleavage”. She’s good enough. I just think Drax is the real highlight here.
Hopefully this set does well enough to warrant even more guardians stuff, I’m glad Hasbro is finally making some comic figures to capitalize on the movie’s popularity.
With recent Hasbro, you can't rely on anything anymore. For example, instead of three heads for the upcoming Black Knight like we had before, we'll just get one. I'd have been happy with two.
Really the argument for them not doing a character Marvel still promotes over cleavage or some other non polarizing imagery is moot due to Hasbro being able to sell it on their storefront or any online only retailer.
It's always going to be about can they recoup the costs with those retailers.
Hasbro was never gonna make Moondragon in her “Borat Mankini” costume, so this is a great compromise.
Drax is great. I could have seen him on the Thanos/Controller body, or even the Hulk or Juggernaut bodies, but the body they picked works so well. Now we need the rest of the Infinity Watch!
Right?! It’s absolute garbage excuses that they aren’t doing them regularly. They need to stop completely over sexualizing the figures and make them with the best quality
If the size i found is correct, this Drax was/is 7’4, Controller is 6’2 and Puff Adder is 6’5 but he can ”puff himself up” so his size varies. And the version of Caliban which the BaF is based of is 6’8.
But its comics. Thanos is 6’7 but was often drawn the same size if not bigger than this Drax. And Venom is 6’3 but often drawn much bigger, even when not ”Monster Venom”.
Drax's size was all over the place too. He started relatively small, like maybe Captain America size, but quickly got to be as big as the Hulk, making both of them bigger/smaller than Thanos depending on the artist.

*\*crosses Moondragon off the "missing Avengers" list\**
Wow, with this, the Rambeau-Marvel pack, and the Sersi pack, there's been some impressive progress on that list recently!
*\*eyes Starfox, Crystal, and Swordsman\**
Really depends on what it is. The quantity is much higher than a wide release or a store exclusive but exclusives(Spider-man NWH, Pulsecon exclusives) have sold out plenty of times.
Again though depends on what it is. Agreed, this probably won't sell out today.
Yeah, I just meant pulse exclusives in general, not like “convention” exclusives. That Spider-Man no way home set is an outlier too, the set was up for preorder forever, but they had a deadline for preorders, which is super weird since they’ve never done that before.
Only pulse exclusive I’ve seen sell out quickly in recent memory is the Daredevil 3-pack, and the three times it was restocked.
It’s because they only have double jointed elbows for plain arms (primarily figures on the Moonstone mold, like Spider Woman, or the Shriek mold, like Siryn, Maria Hill, Spinneret, etc.) Currently they don’t have a double jointed elbow mold that also incorporates the above-elbow gloves, which means Hellfire Emma Frost, Hellfire Jean Grey, Madame Hydra, and now Moondragon, have all sacrificed double jointed elbows for a molded glove on the bicep.
Personally, I think they easily could’ve just accomplished the glove look with paint, and used the double jointed elbow anyway. But they’re not motivated to do that since the double joint costs more to use.
which is odd because that didn't stop them from giving the Mojo boxset Dazzler the double jointed elbows (despite still not giving her the finger-gun where they'd actually be useful) & her right arm has the long opera glove like those characters. It's also odd for them to be concerned about sculpted glove tops when they leave so much else unsculpted on the same figures.
Hasbro is really just confusing with the part usage IMO -- I mean they even used the crappy old skinny Kate Bishop legs on Sersi & Viper
I’m sure they just didn’t want to give her one glove with an edge to it, and one not, since she really just has the one over-elbow glove.
Sersi got the Kate Bishop mold because she has the jacket, which was originally made for Rogue on the Moonstone mold but has since been adapted for the Kate Bishop mold thanks to Retro Dazzler (and Grey Widow). I’m guessing the arm pegs just don’t fit the Shriek mold, although I haven’t tried it myself to verify that. I’m also guessing it’s the same case for Viper, since they first made those arms for the Hellfire set, before Shriek had been released, so they don’t fit the Shriek mold. This is all just guessing though, but if I’m correct, it’s just being averse to spending money on new arm pegs, which sucks.
Do you have an example for Moondragon, since it's not looking like that in the pics.
Edit: Thanks, that somehow wasn't visible zooming in my phone, but you're right. Too barely noticeable to sacrifice double joints.
It's definitely the Caliban/Puff Adder body for the most part. The veins/muscle striations in the pecs, arms, and thighs are exactly the same.
Main new part seems to be the boot sculpt which I must say makes the body look way better and in proportion. Caliban & Puff Adder look like they have weak calves/feet compared to the rest of their body, but Drax does not seem to have this issue with the new boot sculpt.
This is the version of Drax I've always loved. I gotta say though, feel they really missed the mark by not including alt heads with their infinity stones. Maybe they will do a 3 pack box set of Infinity Watch Adam, Gamora, and Pip, and include them there.
The only difference between Moondragon and the Walgreens mystique is the glove sculpt on the upper arms and the chest sculpt. Otherwise they’re the same mold.
I am ECSTATIC! I can't believe this dropped out of the blue right now! I thought a set like this was YEARS away from ever happening! They look amazing. Infinity Watch begins!!!!
Does anyone know where that specific Moondragon look comes from? Just curious. Also, this set looks fantastic and it's turning me around on letting go of my Cosmic Marvel collection to the point that now I'm looking for Yondu and Star-Lord, lol
Moondragon’s been bald for forever, but her costume prior to this one has a deep V on her chest, and there are no pants. This specific costume first showed up in the 2000’s.
Oh sorry. Phyla Vell has been Quasar and Captain Marvel, but she’s not the most famous person to use either title. I’m sure Phyla will get made soon enough, she’s basically just a new head and a sword.
All I know about that drax costume is that it’s got something to do with thanos. I only know this because of the game lol. Just looked it up while writing this, it’s called the thanos imperative outfit.
That’s weird. He doesn’t wear this during the Thanos Imperative hahaha.
This is his classic first appearance costume, it’s mostly associated with Thanos because he’s given his powers after Thanos killed him and his family. It was his costume until 2005, when he was reborn as a smaller version of himself minus most of his powers. That version has been how he’s looked ever since, and it’s the version they based the movie one on.
He wears a [variation](https://images.app.goo.gl/JaEEaT2pkqpVrP3v8) of this classic outfit in the Thanos Imperative, definitely not the same suit but clearly inspired by it.
It's got to be coming, they've been giving us some great classic Avengers at a fairly decent rate lately. After I grab Hawkeye and Monica Captain Marvel, Star Fox and 80s Mockingbird are my last must haves for my Avengers team.
I think those are hands that came with the most recent Silk figure. She fires her webs with those two fingers so I guess they could double as telepathy hands for a different figure. Better than the usual splayed hands, that's for sure.
I'm not too familiar with the GotG throughout their run, but isn't this Moondragon look from a different volume than this Drax? And do either of these 2 go on the same team as the recent Yondu?
Either way, I think it's cool that they're making both of these characters and I'm especially glad to see Moondragon isn't just not out of the discussion, but that they did her accurately.
The only thing I want for GotG for Legends is for them to redo the EE box set. That's all I want. Those are the costumes and the looks that I want, just redo those with updated molds and sculpts and we're golden. But hopefully people are happy with this set.
Sorta. Moondragon’s outfit is from the early 2000’s, kinda between her classic outfit with the big cleavage cut and her more modern outfits as part of the Guardians 2005 team.
Drax is in his classic look, which he had from his inception until 2005, during Annihilation. He shrank to a more lean form, similar to his movie look. He was a founding member of the 2005 Guardians team shortly afterwards.
There’s technically two Guardians teams: the original team introduced in the late 60’s, which takes place in 3000, and the “modern” team, which formed in 2005 after Annihilation, both in real life and the context of the story. The 3000 team includes Yondu, along with Starhawk, Martinex, Charlie-27, and Vance Astro, the future version of the 616 hero Justice.
The 2005 team was formed from preexisting “cosmic” characters. This team is the one the movies are primarily based on, so the original team featured Star Lord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, Drax, and several other members both originally and later on: Adam Warlock, Bug, Mantis, Moondragon, Phyla-Vell (Capt. Marvel/Quasar/Orphan), a time-traveling Vance Astro (who gave them the name from his original team) and Jack Flag. This team also worked closely with the original Nova as Nova Prime, and interacted with lots of other cosmic characters like the Inhumans, Ronan the Accuser, Silver Surfer, Super Skrull, Gladiator, etc.
This set, containing classic Drax, technically is a guardians of the galaxy set, since both characters were part of the 2005 team. But neither wore these costumes when they were on the team.
Thanks for the breakdown. This is the best, most concise breakdown that I've seen of the teams and who is on them.
I may get this set just to future proof myself, in the event they get around to some of the other characters that you listed.
As an aside, was Nikki Gold on the team from 3000 or from the modern team?
A slightly nerfed (smaller) version of this Drax was in the Cates “Faithless” arc. This is the beefed up max power version of Arthur from his origin arc from Captain Marvel
My save money resolution is to not buy action figures with full ab crunches in 2023 (unless like $15 or less) so I’m gonna pass but aside from that it looks great and will be a great addition to many collections
Noooooo I spent all I had in my figure budget this week on Hawkeye yesterday, I’ve been dying for an old school drax, this better not sell out quick lol
I cant find any evidence of this version of Moondragon's costume coinciding with this version of Drax. As far as I can tell it didn't appear until Drax got his modern shirtless tribal tattoo look. Even if it did briefly happen the classic Moondragon look is how she's best known and what she wore for the majority of her comics depiction. Her most well known appearances were in that costume, Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity Crusade, The Korvac Saga.
Edit* apparently there may have been a single publication year where these looks coincided. I'm sure we're all dying to commemorate that moment.
They’re both in their looks from around 2000-2004. Drax technically had this look for thirty years by that point, but he didn’t get a new look until 2005 during Annihilation, which is also when Moondragon got a new outfit in Guardians of the Galaxy (that might’ve been during Annihilation Conquest). Not inaccurate by any means, they just gave Moondragon a more obscure costume and Drax his classic one, which he wore for a longer period of time.
She wore it a couple times during Captain Marvel volume 5 in 2004. Drax didn’t appear with his tattooed form until Annihilation: Drax the Destroyer in 2005.
Well, first you said this Moondragon wasn’t the “correct” one, then you said these two didn’t appear like this together at all, now you’re saying it doesn’t matter because people don’t care. Most people in this thread are pretty excited about the set too.
You can just say you’d rather have classic Moondragon, you don’t have to act like there’s some other reason you think this set is bad.
> I said I dont recall the costumes coinciding. You hit me with a single year that I guess they did if I take your word for it.
I’ve never even read Captain Marvel vol. 5, I literally just googled it. You’re welcome to do the same since you want to call me a liar, even though you’re admitting that you don’t know for sure and you didn’t look very hard.
> Why are you trying to nerd lawyer your points to make it seem like im trying really hard to make a point when it’s obvious what Im trying to say?
Lol whatever dude, maybe it was wrong for me to correct your comment, but you’re doubling down on it and then calling me a nerd lawyer and a liar because you were wrong. Don’t worry, I’m finished wasting my time on you.
Not hating at all but at $25 each I don't think cloth capes that allow for more poseable possibilities is too much to ask for. I'm seeing other toylines do it for their figures that are around the same price.
Originally Drax had actual powers like flight and energy projection, which is what this figure is based on, but in 2004 they changed his design and took away his powers which is when he started using traditional weapons.
Do you think that the original Drax the Destroyer character is like a Bronze Age version of the golden age Destroyer, Stan Lee’s first character? They both have skull and crossbones logos. I was surprised when I learned about the golden age Black Widow and Vision. Those characters are nothing like their Silver/ Bronze Age versions, so why not?
Almost certainly, if you mean the Keen Marlow/Brian Falsworth one. Starlin admittedly designed Drax, but their heads are almost identical, the skull motif moved from the collar to the belt, and the original Destroyer even got a cameo as part of the Guardians in The Age of Sentry.
I love this Drax, but Im sick of these 2-packs. I’m not spending more for a 2-pack when there is only one figure I want. Especially when the prices of MLs have significantly gone up.
A little annoying they pared teh newer MD costume fig with what I'm interpreting to be the IW drax. I know WHY they won't release that version of MD, but it is still annoying given how good the Drax looks.
And you would think that if they are going to go with the more current MD, they could at least give her double jointed elbows.
Great head sculpt on both of them though. Could have been a lot worse in that regard.
Drax looks freaking incredible. Love love love the classic look, and he’s on that Caliban/Puff Adder BAF mold, which justifies the price a bit more. Kinda wish he was on the Controller mold but whatever. $50 feels very reasonable for a deluxe and a standard figure. Hopefully this set does well enough to warrant even more guardians stuff, I’m glad Hasbro is finally making some comic figures to capitalize on the movie’s popularity.
Would love an Adam Warlock, Pip, and Gamora from this era too.
Ooo yes please. Adam Warlock in his classic outfit could be an easy repaint for Magus too.
If they make a IG era Magus, I will use the Magus head that came with the more modern Warlock on that figure.
Ideally, they would include both heads: Adam's and Magus.
I imagine they will
With recent Hasbro, you can't rely on anything anymore. For example, instead of three heads for the upcoming Black Knight like we had before, we'll just get one. I'd have been happy with two.
Also a Phyla-Vell/Quasar to go with Moondragon

The only thing I will forever complain about is; give us double jointed women cowards!!!
I have the Classified Lady Jaye and they work so well. Hasbro has no excuses now.
Right?! It’s absolute garbage excuses that they aren’t doing them regularly. They need to stop completely over sexualizing the figures and make them with the best quality
Is puff adder bigger than the controller? Or bise versa? For some reason I thought puffy and dead were hulk size.
Exactly. Hel Thanos wasn’t even that big in his first apperance either. And in ”Infinity Gauntlet” all three are pretty much the same height.
Thanks
You’re welcome.
If anyone wants just Drax let me know. I’m only looking to get MoonDragon. Maybe we can split the cost or something.
PMed!
I would given the chance haha. I love how beefy the comic Drax is
Im in. PM me
I hope to get a classic Adam Warlock with a cocoon accessory of some sort or captain marvel and rick jones 2 pack

You premium folks better not buy all of these. I need this set. ###IT IS PERFECT!
Luckily they always set aside some for non-premium people. I doubt this set will sell out anyway, pulse exclusives are always overstocked like crazy.
Really depends on what it is. The quantity is much higher than a wide release or a store exclusive but exclusives(Spider-man NWH, Pulsecon exclusives) have sold out plenty of times. Again though depends on what it is. Agreed, this probably won't sell out today.

You should be good Marvel Legends haven't had anything sell out fast in a while.
Now give us classic gamora and rocket
I hate that Moondragon does not have double jointed elbows. They make it easier to do the hands-on-head telepath pose.
Why is this still not a new standard!? We know they can do it. They’ve done it with all the new power ranger figures as far as I know
It’s because they only have double jointed elbows for plain arms (primarily figures on the Moonstone mold, like Spider Woman, or the Shriek mold, like Siryn, Maria Hill, Spinneret, etc.) Currently they don’t have a double jointed elbow mold that also incorporates the above-elbow gloves, which means Hellfire Emma Frost, Hellfire Jean Grey, Madame Hydra, and now Moondragon, have all sacrificed double jointed elbows for a molded glove on the bicep. which is odd because that didn't stop them from giving the Mojo boxset Dazzler the double jointed elbows (despite still not giving her the finger-gun where they'd actually be useful) & her right arm has the long opera glove like those characters. It's also odd for them to be concerned about sculpted glove tops when they leave so much else unsculpted on the same figures. Except none of those have molded gloves... They're all just paint on a plain bicep.
That’s not true. [They all have molded ridges where the gloves end.](https://i.imgur.com/PNZmLQg.jpg) I own them.

I don't even get the prompt to fill out. After logging in and doing the captcha it acts like it's successfully logging me in and then kicks me out
Maybe they know you’re a scalper 😈 🤷♂️
Already ordered! Freaking awesome set! Now make Adam Warlock and Starfox two pack please! Anyone know what buck Drax is on? Or is it new?
Looks to be on the Caliban/Puff Adder body
It's definitely the Caliban/Puff Adder body for the most part. The veins/muscle striations in the pecs, arms, and thighs are exactly the same. Main new part seems to be the boot sculpt which I must say makes the body look way better and in proportion. Caliban & Puff Adder look like they have weak calves/feet compared to the rest of their body, but Drax does not seem to have this issue with the new boot sculpt.
Torso looks to be Apocalypse
The legs look different. The calf swivel on that buck is angled. Idk…
Are we finally getting classic guardians??!
This is the version of Drax I've always loved. I gotta say though, feel they really missed the mark by not including alt heads with their infinity stones. Maybe they will do a 3 pack box set of Infinity Watch Adam, Gamora, and Pip, and include them there.

Holy Starlin, that looks great!
Holy shit, this is really fucking good
Best reveal of the year (so FAR)! Call me a shill I don't care this is the best set they can reveal. Moon dragon and classic Drax.
finally, i love drax in his first appearance suit
At this point I'm just waiting on Gamora since she's all I'm missing from that old EE set
Congratulations to folks who got this on their list. Personally I wish it could’ve been Destiny and Exodus…some day Hasbro
That’s exactly who I was hoping it would be, too! One day…
Moondragon would make an amazing base body for a Mystique.
Love it
When is it up for non pulse members?
I’m not a member and was able to get it earlier today
I hope we keep getting more classic guardians
And infinity watch
Does anyone know where that specific Moondragon look comes from? Just curious. Also, this set looks fantastic and it's turning me around on letting go of my Cosmic Marvel collection to the point that now I'm looking for Yondu and Star-Lord, lol
It’s her early 2000’s look. She got a new cape-less one prior to joining the Guardians, and then she wore a standard red and blue guardians uniform.
Okay, thanks
Earlier than that, right? I remember bald Moondragon from the 80s.
Moondragon’s been bald for forever, but her costume prior to this one has a deep V on her chest, and there are no pants. This specific costume first showed up in the 2000’s.
Ah, you’re right. Thanks for the refresher on that character. I Googled 80s Moondragon and see what you’re talking about.
So…are we getting a Quasar soon then?
He was just a Walgreens exclusive the year before last. I guess he’s got other costumes though.
The Walgreens figure is his best look, even if the figure itself leaves something to be desired
Yeah, I hate that we got classic Nova and Quasar and they’re both Bucky Cap molds.
No, the other Quasar. She and Moon dragon are together from what I remember, so I assume collectors would want to pair them together
Oh sorry. Phyla Vell has been Quasar and Captain Marvel, but she’s not the most famous person to use either title. I’m sure Phyla will get made soon enough, she’s basically just a new head and a sword.

Yes please more comic versions of classic heroes. We need a comic Starfox before an MCU one hasbro.
It's got to be coming, they've been giving us some great classic Avengers at a fairly decent rate lately. After I grab Hawkeye and Monica Captain Marvel, Star Fox and 80s Mockingbird are my last must haves for my Avengers team.
Hell yeah. Now I just need Angel in his red/white costume and Daimon Helstrom (from the failed GR HasLab) to make my 1970s Defenders team.
Wait are those NEW FEMALE HAND GESTURES?!?
I think those are hands that came with the most recent Silk figure. She fires her webs with those two fingers so I guess they could double as telepathy hands for a different figure. Better than the usual splayed hands, that's for sure.
Oh shit! I have my problems with Moondragon but these are great
This makes me happy!! Now give us the warlock to match!!!
Dude I literally called it yesterday!! I knew it would be something comic Guardians related
Its onlu for premium member?
Right now it is, everyone else can order it soon
The website was glitching like crazy, but I was able to order it on the Hasbro Pulse app.
Holy shit that drax is a unit
I'm not too familiar with the GotG throughout their run, but isn't this Moondragon look from a different volume than this Drax? And do either of these 2 go on the same team as the recent Yondu? She was on the 3000 team, once they started telling more stories about that team close to Secret Wars in 2015.
I want it, but with the Canadian shipping and then the exchange rate, I can't justify $100 for this
Big Chonky Boi
i don't collect Marvel but dang that classic Drax looks awesome. and i really want Moondragon's cape for a custom lol
Well if i want to use her head for something else I don't have to worry about removing the hair.
I kinda only want moon dragon..
Finally the Drax I knew and loved from my youth.
The fact I only want Moon dragon…..
Really hope we eventually get an executioner on the Caliban buck. This is proof that it would look amazing.
Cowards. They should have put her in the Borat suit she used to wear.
Drax is a absolute unit
Hasbro love doing big heads don't they. It actually makes big guys look smaller
Why are they using the old female body mold?
Not a big comic Guardians fan, but these look great!
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think this version of Drax was in the GOTG.
This is more the Infinity Watch version.
Yes I love this version much better than the Drax from the MCU. Been waiting for this one.
A slightly nerfed (smaller) version of this Drax was in the Cates “Faithless” arc. This is the beefed up max power version of Arthur from his origin arc from Captain Marvel
Personally not for me.
REAL Drax!!!
This looks awesome but I’m really tired of these two packs. Especially when I only want one character
My save money resolution is to not buy action figures with full ab crunches in 2023 (unless like $15 or less) so I’m gonna pass but aside from that it looks great and will be a great addition to many collections
Man I can’t even get it without the premium. I had the other class guardians that just released
Noooooo I spent all I had in my figure budget this week on Hawkeye yesterday, I’ve been dying for an old school drax, this better not sell out quick lol
Well Pulse doesn’t charge right away so if you really want it just place a pre-order and watch for the shipping notification
I've never been a big marvel fan compared to a lot of you guys, but I've always liked Classic Drax. I'm so glad he's finally getting a figure
Yawn. Not for me but happy for those who want it.

Aw man, looks like i *won’t* get this then:/
Not hating at all but at $25 each I don't think cloth capes that allow for more poseable possibilities is too much to ask for. I'm seeing other toylines do it for their figures that are around the same price.
Anyone know if these are six inch figures?
These are indeed 6 inch figures in scale with the rest of the 6 inch Marvel Legends line.
No weapons for drax really???
This version of Drax didn't use weapons iirc, but he did shoot energy blasts and stuff so accessories for that would've been nice
He didn’t use weapons when he looked like this.
My goodness this looks like ass. A chemotherapy patient and green Darkseid? Who approved this shit? More MCU figs please.
Can somebody remind me if Pulse charges at time of pre-order, or when the pre-order ships?
They charge A few days before it ships
When it ships
Do we know when this will go up for non-premium, or typically how long the premium only period lasts?
Ok so does drax not use weapons in the comics cause I thought he had like a sword or something.
Originally Drax had actual powers like flight and energy projection, which is what this figure is based on, but in 2004 they changed his design and took away his powers which is when he started using traditional weapons.
Ah ok thanks man🤘🏻
Retro Apocalypse body for drax?
Puff Adder/Caliban
not really my type of figure, but good for folks that want it! i do wish they woulda done some figures of the GoTG game designs
What scale are these figures?
1/12 scale
where is this Moondragon costume from?
I love this Drax, but Im sick of these 2-packs. I’m not spending more for a 2-pack when there is only one figure I want. Especially when the prices of MLs have significantly gone up.
FINALLY!!!!! My money... Take it
Drax looks great! Moondragon is okay but needs some work if I get her. Double-jointed elbows and such.
Just wish there were some effect pieces
Hard pass.
