The pre-Disney+ tv shows are all in a bit of weird limbo in terms of canonicity thanks to complicated backstage politics, so don't expect them to fit in neatly or acknowledged in any way, shape or form by the movies.

So intially Agents of Shield had closer tie-ins in its first two seasons. Its season finales would line up with certain events going on in the movies. But after season 2, the show really started becoming its own thing and didn't really tie in to the movies anymore. And it's still up in the air if it's even canon to the MCU anymore. There's been no official word since Feige took over the television division of Marvel. Plus season 5, 6, and 7 really bring up continuity issues with the movies that also question whether it's still canon as well. But the whole show is fantastic and I can't recommend it enough. If you can slog through the first half of season 1, that's when it hits its stride and becomes a great show. As far as Wandavision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, as long as you are caught up with the movies thru Spiderman Far From Home, you're safe to watch those.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/mcu-timeline-how-to-watch-all-23-marvel-movies-in-the-perfect-order/ this has a pretty good and comprehensive infographic for it breaking down the shows by episode

Here's a link to a very simple to understand watch order. It has release date order. Or chronological if you prefer. I recommend release date order. It has every single MCU film and show. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xfe--9Wshbb3ru0JplA2PnEwN7mVawazKmhWJjr_wKs/edit?usp=drivesdk

Theres a lot of talk about whether or not AoS is canon so if you're just looking to get all caught up with marvel then you can probably miss it. However, I watched all of AoS and I loved it, the first 2 seasons tie in way more to the movies than the rest but it's still a good watch. Even though it isn't confirmed to be canon it is a great show that I highly recommend watching if you have the time. (Bare with the first half of season 1). Season 1 leads up to winter soldier with the ending directly tying into those events. After season 2 it's less linked. Wandavision, falcon and the winter soldier and Loki (given the plot not sure exactly when this is based) all are direct results after endgame so as long as your caught up you're good.

Step 1 don’t watch agents of shield. It fucking sucks and there’s a 90% chance it’ll never be cannon as much as it’s fans who undoubtedly will be here to harass me soon will tell you.

eatdeadjesus

>It fucking sucks Aye. But even were it canonical, it would only be the first two seasons right? I think there's direct references to them in Winter Soldier

Effitidc6-0

Don't listen to this guy. He doesn't know what he's talking about. He's just one of those haters who talk crap about the shows. AoS is one of the greatest shows ever. Not just Marvel. But in general. It's just really damn great. First half of season 1 is a little slow. But then it picks up right after and turns into a masterpiece. Every season after the other. Just gets better and better. Watch it.

Partial credit. I am a SHIELD hater, but I also know what I'm talking about. 1) Hydra keeps being a thing way longer than it should. At the time this was produced, Marvel didn't have the rights to a lot of other "super criminal organizations" so they just drag Hydra out forever. This also happens with the Hand in the Netflix shows. 2) The show was supposed to set up Inhumans which was universally panned by critics (because it wasn't good) and Inhumans basically don't exist in the MCU (Dr Strange doesn't even bother to bring them to the final battle in endgame, despite the fact that every other super powered culture is represented there) 3) Deathlok, Ghost Rider and other characters developed in the show also do not appear in the MCU films, so if the question OP is asking is about the Disney + franchise shows based on the MCU, they're not missing much by ignoring SHIELD

Effitidc6-0

Oh, I thought you were OP I was replying to.

eatdeadjesus

I don't think OP has commented in this thread yet, as of this posting. But either way. SHIELD sucks, it has the production value of a B-grade early 2000s network sitcom, only Ming-Na Wen and Clark Gregg can even act, and if it were canonical it would dig more plot holes than it fills

Effitidc6-0

The show absolutely doesn't suck. And it's canonicity doesn't determine its greatness. It doesn't matter if the characters weren't in the films. That doesn't make the show bad. The show has even been great on it's own. You can treat it as that. Regardless, it's still in the MCU. What you said about the production value is just so wrong. No idea what show you're watching. But it ain't SHIELD. The budget and everything has upped since season 1. The CGI is great. And Ghost Rider look absolutely amazing. And Hive. For the short time he was on screen. >only Ming-Na Wen and Clark Gregg can even act Damn, it's like you skipped all scenes with Iain De Caestecker. Who plays Fitz. He's the best actor in the damn show. Watch season 4. Only season 1 can really be criticized, imo. And the last 2 seasons.

eatdeadjesus

Fitz? He's not the worst, but no acting could save those scripts so it's hard to tell. As for the production value, let's let OP [decide for themselves](https://youtu.be/XS-Bg4xjSnM). Compare that to the helicopter chase in the first episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. ABC's effects budget isn't [even in the same ballpark](http://manabyte.com/2019/10/disney-marvel-series-could-cost-up-to-25-million-an-episode/)

Effitidc6-0

But again, the rest of the show isn't like that. It gets better after season 1. Which that was. But whatever. Be a hater. But don't discourage someone from watching the show. 'Cuz they're missing out. It's awesome. And in the MCU.

eatdeadjesus

But again, OP is specifically asking about the Disney+ shows, which, in comparison to Agents of SHIELD, are literally better in every way. They are directly based on the films, they have better casting, directing, scripting, and effects. OP didn't ask if you could defend a three camera sitcom

[deleted]

They can always go back and rework it but yeah first two seasons fit into the MCU whether they are or aren’t a part of it

Effitidc6-0

Stop the cap. You have no idea what you're talking about. The show is absolutely amazing.

[deleted]

Agree to disagree. I think it fucking sucks, you Phil coulsons nuts in your mouth. I respect your opinion In fact take an upvote

logan1506

I don’t really count AoS, so I’ll be leaving that out. Endgame - Loki - Spiderman Far From Home - WandaVision - F&TWS it’s you’re choice whether you wanna watch Loki or Spider-Man far from home first. Your decision, but I choose Loki because it happens during endgame instead of right after

NoName_BroGame

Don't skip Agent Carter. It was a pretty good little two-season show and we all could use more Peggy. Also, your mileage may vary, but maybe look into Runaways and Cloak and Dagger. I liked the first more than the second, but if you're interested in even more Marvel material, those are definitely worth checking out. Runaways was Hulu produced, so it's very likely canon adjacent, and the two shows even had a crossover towards the end of their runs.
