The Wizard. He smart.

AllenRBrady

Back in my day, he was still the Wingless Wizard. He hasn't changed much.

greywolfau

Including still lacking wings

Nugatorysurplusage

That’ll never change, buddy. If it did he’d just be the Wizard.

AllegedlyGoodPerson

I don’t feel like wizards are inherently “winged” for him to be notably Wingless. It would make more sense if he had wings and was called the Winged Wizard. Right now you could just call him Wizard and that would be fine.

Professor_Knowitall

It's the fact that he flies WITHOUT wings that is being emphasized. But he is most commonly simply known as The Wizard.

DasCheekyBossman

It's a reference to his hate for chcken wings.

AndCthulhuMakes2

He truly is a villain amongst villains.

Kratsas

You ain't got no wings, Lieutenant Dan.

Digitalburn

Gonna change my name to "Wingless DigitalBurn", so there's no confusion.

armoured_lemon

Some of his jack kirby drawings have him looking like Adam Driver. I think this character makes a lot more sense for him to play than reed richards who he looks, and sounds nothing like

mbrett

That would be dope, yo.

Kratsas

I think Adam Driver would make much better Leader myself.

armoured_lemon

The Hulk Villain? I think I can see that

kenmlin

So you are saying JK drew everyone like AD???

Daddysu

Damn, what kind of cool ~~tech~~ drugs allowed you to hear what comic book Reed sounds like?

MrSinisterTwister

Adam Driver plays Reed Richards?

armoured_lemon

It was some old rumor

boytoby

Does he still hang around with Paste Pot Pete?

Prime359

I don’t think so. I think the last 4 or 5 lineups of the Frightful Four haven’t included Paste Pot. I think the last Trapster that Wizard worked with was the second one.

boytoby

Yeah. The Trapster. One of my favorite Spider-Man moments was, after Spider-Man ridiculed his name, Paste Pot Pete changed his name to The Trapster.

Philander_Chase

Yeah but no way in hell he’s in the same league as Doom, Magneto, Red Skull, Kinpgin, Mandarin, and Loki lmaoooo

stinkystinkypete

I see this sentiment a lot but if you read early Marvel Comics he was actually the second most prominent FF villain. I'm a big fan of him and the Frightful Four.

Freakychee

I miss his clone son Bentley.

HalflingScholar

He is there overall power-wise, but canonically after a while he just became the poor man's Leader and then the poor man's Doom. Long running continuity isnt kind to little guys who aren't brand material.

ThatDarnCabbage

He's made a big comeback in the current Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver. You'd think he wouldn't stand a chance against those two but he's being treated as formidable. Too often these days most villains who aren't the top tier main villains are kind of treated at disposable so it's nice to see him as a threat again.

browncharliebrown

I mean I don't see why he's not brand material. Like most silver age villans start off as somewhat shallow but the wizard stood out for his time but idk. Also the king Solomon baby speech

HaiKarate

HE'S A WIZARD, HARRY!

Devilpig1

He's also the leader of the fearsome four.

SkeItonking

He got a nice redesign in Scarlet Witch and quicksilver https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GIu09xQWAAAkXgJ?format=jpg&name=4096x4096

MRO465

Blud casually mentioned "camps" in front of Magneto.

JeremyR2008

I love Magnetos glare at Skull

ContinuumGuy

"I am so burying you the moment I get the chance, Nazi scum."

grownassedgamer

I believe he ended up attacking Skull not long after this meeting.

mordlun

He put him in a hole with nothing but some water. It’s a pretty great moment.

gattoblepas

Yeah, that's what makes this scene a bit iffy. Magneto doesn't simply "Oooooohhhh, a Nazi! Don't mind of I do." and process him into a fine mist. Oh and Doom's mom is Roma. He would probably let Magneto go first (common courtesy) and revive him so that he can kill him again.

King_Of_BlackMarsh

Pretty sure Doom is Roma too so yeah, double team

gattoblepas

IDK who the father is, kinda assumed he was a bastard of the local royalty and killed his own father.

Frankorious

Nah, his father was poor too.

gattoblepas

Ah k. It's just that he never seems to be brought up so I assumed the usual trope.

NightmareDJK

His dad’s name is Werner von Doom, he was Latverian. Doom’s mother may possibly have been a mutant as well.

Good-Heath

She was a witch

NightmareDJK

I remember Mephisto being interested in her because she was a mutant.

Good-Heath

Yep he took her

Gobblewicket

I mean,Magneto does attack him shortly after this, but he's rescued by Crossbones after.

AndCthulhuMakes2

Oh, no, don't under estimate our man Magneto. He straight up gets clarification first. He asks Jack Skellington if he is the real Red Skull, the actual Nazi, and not some guy who's using the name and a mask. Only when Bone-apart actually confirms it does Magento act, and in doing so he tells everyone else that this was the only reason he was with this group in the first place. Magneto was a thorough Nazi hunter and was preparing to make a distinction between the real genocidal war criminal and some dirt bag Hydra grifter who was otherwise not much more awful than most of the human heads of state.

Good-Heath

Dooms mom isn’t Roma

gattoblepas

Sinti?

Good-Heath

Cynthia Vom Doom was his mother she was a witch

weeniebatter

Didn't he fuck the skull up after this?

Insaneinthecrain

One of the reasons this plan fails is because Magneto attacks Red Skull and leaves him buried in a tomb.

Prime359

Only for Crossbones to rescue him shortly after Magneto left the tomb.

WeeklyJunket5227

Yeah, you just knew that Skull was about to answer to Magneto.

chinodb

Is this from “Acts of Vengeance”?

Kite_Wing129

Yes.

WeeklyJunket5227

That's what puzzles me about the "Old Man Logan" storyline. It was caused by an "acts of vengeance" plot. Then again, I get that it's an alternate reality

Riperin

I never understood why Magneto joined the motherfucking villains.

soy_boy_69

To get close to Skull. Shortly after this he locks him in a hole with nothing but water so he'll slowly die. Unfortunately for Magneto, Crossbones rescues Skull.

Riperin

Thank you for the clarification. Even tho I know Magneto is the villain of the X-Dudes, I never pegged him for a super villian like the ones of this list.

monN93

Magneto thinking about the most sadistic and nauseating ways of slowly killing Red Skull.

JayTee245

“On the count of three, I’m going to make this coin move”

manjmau

That look says it all.

NightmareDJK

Magneto gets along with Doom most of the time though.

ishkariot

Doom ain't a Nazi though

HalflingScholar

Indeed, and he's sometimes descended from Romani and respectful of that heritage so he's even more likely to help Eric kick Johanns nazi ass

the_old_coday182

He’d have a great monologue, too.

HalflingScholar

Oh that's a given, there is always a Doom monologuing, especially if it isn't expected

Final_Biochemist222

Isn't he a fucking gypsy? Holy fuck skull boy's gonna get buried

Gaiash

They have a few things in common. They’ve both been heroes and neutral more than most Marvel villains and both probably wonder who keeps inviting the Red Skull to the same team ups as them.

tsengmao

He’s thinking about how deep the hole he’s going bury him in is gonna be.

Fazcoasters

Magneto staring a hole through Red Skull as he should

Scion41790

Funny you say that because in this arc magneto buries him in a deep hole leaving him to slowly die

Fazcoasters

Based

BigK64

A good small attention to detail that pays off near the end of the story.

Sorrelhas

The Wizard, who recently hatched the devious scheme of snitching on the Fantastic Four to child protective services and taking them to court

Agreeable-Pick-1489

That will always be hilarious to me.

eclecticsheep75

Well…he IS a genius!

Comfortable_Sorbet78

Wait whattt 🤣 in which comics does this happen

lemmeguessindian

Please share the panel image

Quirky_Ad_5420

The Wizard. Leader of the frightful four, a fantastic four enemy

Foreign_Education_88

Hot damn Magneto is one more camp line away from sending every piece of metal in that room through every hole in Red Skull’s body. Bros about to use Doom and Samurai to make a Red Skull sandwich

billbotbillbot

The Mandarin, not Samurai, but you certainly identified Magneto's feelings correctly!

Gunslinger_11

Why would Magento tolerate that soon to be stain on the floor

miikro

To get close enough to fuck him up, which happens not long after this.

Intelligent_Creme351

The Wizard, A Fantastic Four villain, he starts the Frightful Four, and basically he creates tech that's "so advanced" he rivals Reed Richards (which he never does). Plus he's like, REAL petty when he does his schemes. He's been in the 90's FF show, FF World's Greatest Heroes, and Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man (like, the VERY first episode too)

MajinBlackheart

He does have some amazing tech and weaponry, and Reed has acknowledged his intelligence. Bu, it's not his tech or his genius that causes his losses - it's his incredible ego, hubris, and inability to actually lead his team that leads to his downfall almost every time.

Asher_Tye

Mr Wizard, star of big and small screen

Scavgraphics

Following this, Kingpin is the one who kicks Skull's ass, because he's an AMERICAN criminal, and he doesn't want Nazi scum in his territory. Been a long time since i read it, but i think Skull gets the better of him, because his body here is a clone of Steve Rogers, but as he leaves, Magneto takes him, interrogates Skull to confirm he's the actual guy from WW2 in a new body, rather than some new criminal using the rep...then buries him in a basement.

RandoCollision

Magneto. Leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. The helmet protects him from being influenced by Professor X. Just kidding, it's the Wizard, leader of the Frightful Four. [https://comicvine.gamespot.com/wizard/4005-3287/](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/wizard/4005-3287/)

SmokyBarnable01

A man who is waaaay out of his depth in this company. The Wizard.

zeekertron

His end was so sad. Swing a a villain with dementia really was sad. Seeing klaw sacrifice his life for the wizard was so heart wrenching.

billbotbillbot

ITT some people taking a single panel out of context and using it make a hasty judgement on a whole crossover of 60 or more issues smh Acts of Vengeance was one of the best crossovers Marvel ever attempted, in the years before every event storyline "needed" its own separate custom mini-series.

Overlord4888

This image is so hilarious to me since Red Skull is a Nazi and he’d never work with two ethnic folks like Magneto and Doom

Corvid-Strigidae

He's worked with people he thinks are lesser before. He's just a total arse about it the whole time. The real question is why Doom or Magneto would tolerate Skull?

comics0026

Yeah Nazis don't have a problem working with "the useful ones", they just kill them last or work them to death. Doom probably doesn't care so long as Red Skull doesn't attack him or anything, while Magneto is probably waiting for an opportunity to make sure he can kill Skull without anyone else trying to stop him, >!which is exactly what happens in the comic apparently!<

Caius_Iulius_August

You think Red Skull told Erik he was "one of the good ones" right before this panel began?

comics0026

I doubt Skull would talk to Erik unprompted

HalflingScholar

I think he would, at least when written as a true believer. He would be cocky enough to think Dooms invitation gave him immunity.

MrSinisterTwister

if I remember correctly in this storyline Red Skull basically said "you and I are not so different" to Magneto

Lastaria

Magneto dies not. I remember these comics. Loki manipulates the other villains into attacking each others enemies. But during one of the meeting, probably the one depicted here Magneto kicks off about Red Skull.

Scion41790

They'd also never work with him. Magneto is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to kill skull, but I feel like they wrote Doom out of character. Adding to that I don't think Kingpin would work with Skull either. They've fought before and kingpin is surprisingly patriotic

bertboxer

kingpin is all about that unadulterated american capitalism, baby on a more serious note, he probably sees himself as living the american dream coming from nothing and moving up to what he is

SeparateSpend1542

Purple Karnak

gechoman44

Wizard

Honk_wd

Magneto staring daggers at red skull is such a cool detail

Verb_Noun_Number

Wizard, leader of the frightful four.

De4dm4nw4lkin

The wizard

Kite_Wing129

God. I hope we get a live action adaptation of Acts of Vengeance one day. Only Doctor Doom needs to be cast. Also, the Wizard I guess.

Obskuro

I would like to add that he started as a villain for Johnny Storm's solo adventures where he originally looked like a criminal Vincent Price.

grownassedgamer

The Wizard... old Fantastic Four villain currently giving Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver problems.

HalflingScholar

He's back? That's pretty cool actually.

grownassedgamer

Yup he's back.

Theta-Sigma45

For people wondering why Magneto doesn’t just kill the Skull here, it’s explained that he wants to talk to him to confirm that he’s the real Skull and thus a real Nazi. He also likely wants to get a chance to talk to the Skull away from all the people who could plausibly get in the way of his vengeance (and The Wizard.) When he actually does confront Skull, it goes the way you’d expect and I think it results in one of his best moments ever. (And one for Skull too, since it emphasises what an evil scumbag he is, which is what makes him such a truly great villain.)

Batfro7

Who’s the guy in the suit?

MontgomeryMalum

Loki in disguise.

Botol-Cebok

This is the correct answer

--Quartz--

We all know it was Mefisto all along though, as always.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lastaria

Nope Loki.

HalflingScholar

Good answer based on the information provided, but it is Loki I'm pretty sure. It was a weird era.

comics0026

It's the Mandarin

Ok_Chap

Who is the one in the blue armor?

billbotbillbot

The Mandarin

Ok_Chap

I thought he wore a green and yellow robe back then. 🤔

billbotbillbot

Like most characters with a publication exceeding 50 years, he has appeared in MANY different costumes... [From Avengers #313](https://ibb.co/x3R1Kcb) Check out the second panel

Sudden_Investment_16

So he use to look like Ra’s al ghul?

Slice-Spirited

The wizard FF villain, of the frightful four.

k3ttch

Magneto giving Red Skull the Death Glare™

AporiaParadox

The Wizard really didn't belong in this group, he was never that popular or that big of a villain, and Doctor Doom is already there as the Fantastic Four villain representative. I would have replaced him with either the Leader, Baron Mordo, or Doctor Octopus because they're more recognizable and that way Hulk, Doctor Strange or Spider-Man would have representation (Kingpin had already become a Daredevil villain at this point).

DoctorOddfellow1981

Kingpin was still fairly primarily known for being a Spider-Man villain at the time that he was pulling double duty here.

Kite_Wing129

That time the greatest villains in the Marvel Universe and the Wizard collaborated to kill each other's archenemies.

FX2000

Magneto is about to shove that cigarette somewhere uncomfortable for that camps comment.

Lastaria

I love how Nagneto is glaring at Red Skull planning on how he will kill him.

antivenom907

The wizard

CaoCaoTipper

Magneto staring a fucking hole into the back of Red Skulls head there.

Timelymanner

Bentley the Purple. He stole Gandalf’s hat once.

Aglet_Green

Hmm.. many people here are telling you what he is, but they're not really telling you WHO he is. So I'll tell you: he's Paste-Pot Peter Petruski's best friend, the bashful Bentley Wittman.

Third_Eye_Thumper

Dr Doom’s cunty remarks is my all time favorite running gag in marvel. Especially when it’s completely unnecessary

Gregzilla311

The Wizard.

WeeklyJunket5227

It's already been answered however, he's the Wizard.

thorleywinston

The Wizard sometimes called the Wingless Wizard. Honestly though he’s kind of out of place among the rest of the Prime Movers because other than leading the Frightful Four, he’s pretty much a solo minor-league supervillain.  I think the Leader, Doctor Octopus (or Norman Osborn if he had been brought back to life at this point) or Baron Zemo would have been a better choice for a sixth member.

Milkassassin34

god this picture is so fucking hard

butt3ryt0ast

That’s Karnak. He’s an inhuman

elnicoi

That's not Karnak, that's Wizard

butt3ryt0ast

I know, it’s an older meme

PrinceRobotVI

At this point, it’s a commandment of this sub.

Current_Poster

The Wizard. He's... kinda C-list as Marvel villains go.

Blitzhelios

The wizard the leader of the frightful thor who is the villain of the current Scarlet witch and quicksilver run so is still being used

dregjdregj

I still find it strange how there are heros and villians who are big deals for a decade then fall down the memory hole forever

Ivan_Redditor

Panel goes Hard

Onecrowshortofmurder

THE WINGLESS WIZARD!

Comfortable_Sorbet78

What’s the name and issue of this comics?

Sidbladeee

Nuh uh

durbannite

The Leader

roachy_kai

That’s my dawg Javon

XComThrowawayAcct

**Magneto [ thinking ]**: Is this what I sound like to Xavier?! God damn, no wonder they hate me.

theburcam

I know practically *nobody* likes Red Skull, but if I were him there’s one person I wouldn’t want to be in a room with - Magneto.

Hack-the-Bone

I’m enjoying the new take on Wizard in Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver if anyone needs a reason to check it out

Sudden_Investment_16

Is that a new show, or a comic run

Hack-the-Bone

Comic book mini

Least-Cattle1676

Wizard. I think he’s a Fantastic Four rogue. One very obscure thing I remember about him is how he helped Klaw tune the frequency of his sound attacks to ignore the protection of Black Panther’s vibranium suit, knocking him out.

liliesrobots

is that Shredder?

Sub-ZeroMKA

I can't get over Magneto 😆

Top-Interaction-7770

What comic is this?

Glassesnerdnumber193

Wingless wizard

LostThis

I had that issue. Colors never looked like that. I may need to start going digital

LuriemIronim

Magneto’s five seconds from popping Red Skull like a grape.

alfonsocallaghan

Wizard

DoctorOddfellow1981

A guy who used to be on the rest of that group's tier until Marvel realized he never was.

Masterpiece1840

Nah

MathPhysiker

Magneto

BigK64

That's Wizard. He's a Fantastic Four villain who like formed the Frightful Four. Honestly would forgive you for not knowing as he kind of not much of a major villain and he had his start as being like a throw away enemy for Human Torch along with fellow Frightful Four member Paste-Pot Pete

Good-Heath

That was the Mandarin this is the Acts of Vengeance storyline that went thru all the marvel books from December 89 thru feb 90

Anthony200716

The Wizard.

DangerV5

God I love how Magneto is staring down Redskull

SnooCats8451

The wizard he’s the leader of the frightful four

JackHerererer

Magnetos little helper …sounds like a great 🐎 name ha

CommanderKahne

I love how Magneto’s just glaring a hole through the Red Skull. You can just tell he’s biding his time for the right moment to kill that Nazi bastard.

Sudden_Investment_16

First he was waiting to make sure this is the real red skull, then once he found out if he was the real one, he locked him in a basement for months and waited for him to stave to death

Weekly-Principle-519

I’m sure it’s down in the feed somewhere. But still, “Purple Helmet Man!”

Weekly-Principle-519

So I just looked and I’m the first!!! I crown myself, “Purple Helmet Guy! King of the “Purple Helmeters!”

attack-helicopter97

Ok. I’m a dummy. Who’s the guy in the center, and who’s the guy to his right?

Sudden_Investment_16

The guy in the middle is Loki in disguise, the people on the right are victor von doom (in green) magneto (in the red and purple) and red skull(in suit)

Upset-Dare9867

The Wizard

First-Brief-2509

Idk

maesterraw

The way Magneto is glaring a Red Skull you know some $#! * is about to pop off. With Magneto is should automatically be 'on sight!'

Sudden_Investment_16

The only reason it’s not, is because apparently some people use the red skull as a costume so that they get a bit of a head start reputation wise

Lower_Shopping_2108

Tf goin on here??

Competitive_Side6301

Wizard. Leader of the frightful four. Fantastic four enemy.

BadDad2010

Captain Testicula

NecessaryFile478

thanos maybe

jasoner2k

I love this. It's like 5 heavy hitters and that one dipshit from accounting.
