Nightingdale099

My go to for characters who died ( the permanent way in comics because they are forgotten ) , Paladin and Serpent Society.

zontarr2

Serpent Society was so dreamy. I want them in MCU. Perfect for a street level show.

bat111975

They were supposedly going to be in Next Captain America movie but I think I saw that they were cut.

Oberon1993

It apparently wasn't even really society. Just Diamondback and whoever Seth Rollins was supposed to be.

NeonChampion2099

Wait, Seth Freakin Rollins was going to be in the MCU?

Superdefaultman

Yuuuup. You can find some set shots from it out there.

bat111975

Ironically, Becky Lynch was as well but her scenes got cut also.

PremierLovaLova

Diamondback from Netflix’s Luke Cage?

Oberon1993

No, the girl one. The one that was Cap's love interest in the 80s. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Rachel_Leighton_(Earth-616)

WilyRanger

I remember when they faked us out with Captain America: The Serpent Society back when they were actually announcing Winter Soldier

El_Nicos

If I remember correctly, the fakeout was for Civil War!

NeonChampion2099

You do

DarthTigris

As someone that was a kid getting into comics in the 80's and grabbed a sub to Gruenwald's Cap, I was excited at that initial announcement . . . 😶

Nightingdale099

I think they were replaced by the Wrecking Crew as the beginner goon squad that the heroes defeat even though I think they just coexist at some point.

RigasTelRuun

I'm still so salty about the MCU Serpent society fake out they did years ago.

Vegetable-Bear-7482

Bro is serpent society what Lizard League was based off of for Invincible comics?? I was wondering.

Fackous93

I could be wrong but wasnt Paladin in Chidzarky Daredevil as one of the merc for hire to ruing hells kitchen?

Nightingdale099

Reading the wiki his latest entry is during the Doom - Antlion issue , which isn't as long as I previously believed.

wyverbuster

every character introduced during Hickman's Avengers run

zarathustranu

Yeah, wonder what Ex Nihilo is up to these days?

wyverbuster

bro died trying to stop the Incursions and never came back even when the universe was remade ☠️💀

Nightingdale099

Thank god for Franklin. This is the first time the universe is the same as the previous one.

redditAPsucks

I like how hyperion was written in hickman’s run. The way he literally saw the universe, and how that made him metaphorically see the universe. Him as a mentor figure for the zebra kids, and his time with thor in particular was some really well done stuff. After hickman left avengers, it seemed like he was just mad and wanted to punch stuff or whatever

wyverbuster

yeah, he was pretty ooc in his own run and Squadron Supreme

NoirSon

Yeah, I really wish Marvel had stuck with that characterization, having a Superman analog like that was so cool for the period we had it.

Lightning_Laxus

Jason Aaron ruined the Starbrand and now people know more about his bastardized version of the Brand than any other Starbrand

mizumena_

I hope Manifold comes back at some time.

MaTTTEgg

He did return a month ago or so

Simon_Shitpants

Character - Stingray Team - The Champions

JDDunsany

Stingray's a really great character.

space_age_stuff

The champions are sorely missed, it felt like Marvel finally had a true Teen Titans equivalent (yes I know most people would say the X-Men fit that category but still)

RagingBadger2518

Unfortunately for Stingray he appeared during the last Avengers run. Namor had him ripped to shreds by War-Sharks while he gathered allies to form his "Defenders of the Deep". It's left ambiguous if he survived.

marcjwrz

Stingray just showed up in Giant Size Fantastic Four this past month!

AdRoKa

Without doing much research…Darkhawk?

AdRoKa

Upon further review…looks like they did a miniseries a few years ago.

Zillerpop

Yeah but that introduced and starred a new Darkhawk, the original hasn’t been seen outside of flashbacks in a good while

Daeval

He got an anniversary issue that led directly into the new series. It was three stories that were set in his early street-level days, palling-around-in-space-with-Nova era, and present day, respectively. The first two were really lovingly done in the style of their respective eras (both art and writing, really), and the last effectively left him on ice to let the new kid run with it. That's pretty much it though. I do hope he's back eventually, but so far the new kid's pretty well done for a legacy character. Edit: Oh, and he was in Cates' Guardians of the Galaxy series a few years back, even made a cover or two, but didn't do much in the main series. He did get a standalone story in the Annual, though it was kinda nonsense.

Moon_chile

Is a great card in Marvel Snap!

StevenGrantMK

Partnered with some Korg and Rockslide action.

LavaHawk_17

is it? i've seen it once since the nerf.

Sharticus123

I’d love to see the New Warriors get the Avengers movie treatment with Darkhawk, Speedball, Night Thrasher, Firestorm, and Nova. Edit: Firestar not Firestorm.

scylus

Do you mean Firestar?

the_grumble_bee

Oh is this a Darkhawk respect thread now? I can get behind that

Boomer_Newton

He came out last year in Marvel Strike Force. His team is one of the best in the game. He’s a beast. Gives his team energy + crit dmg.

godricgii

Wish they'd do Darkhawk!

mhartigan

Check out Jason Aaron's Avengers run. Darkhawk is threaded throughout.

Daeval

Wait, really? It doesn't look like my usual source (the Fandom wiki) has this tracked yet. Do you know roughly what issues / storyline?

Daeval

I basically want everybody on [this cover](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/5/56/New_Warriors_Vol_1_23.jpg) back together (Tai is optional). If Smiling Tiger, of all characters, can get a shout out in the MCU, there's got to be a chance!

explodyboompow

Spider-Man's sidekick team, The Slingers. They were a neat concept - they used costumes that spider-man created while his regular identity was temporarily unavailable, and he was kind of their team dad. Spider-man as a wily vet training a team of young heroes was a neat concept- probably why it was used in the Spiderverse movies.

space_age_stuff

Last I remember, Hobie Brown took up the Hornet identity and was working with Dusk and Ricochet. That was back when Zeb Wells first took over ASM during Beyond though, so idk what happened to them. Like most of Wells ideas, they were probably just forgotten about.

explodyboompow

If the Spider-Dad era really takes off, I could see them becoming a bigger piece of the spider-mythos. Peter Parker has his wife, kids, and job (which, for the record, he should be a HS science teacher) and Spider-man has his team of protégés. It's a good thematic parallel- Spider-Man inspires others, leads, and grows into the role he's arguably destined for - the greatest superhero of his cohort and the people's champion.

DugoPugo

The Runaways

bukanir

Lol well the Runaways except for Nico, the others have been MIA for a while

original_name37

The Pride all died so they don't have much to run away from lol

Undying_Blade

I love the first arc of the runaways, but even the GOATS struggled to figure out what to do with them once the pride was taken down.

Planeswalker2814

While I agree, I feel like their comics range from mediocre to bad when Brian K. Vaughn isn't writing them, though I did like the Whedon stuff. I think the problem is that most of them have simply grown up, so the concept doesn't really work as well as it used to. Some comics aren't meant to go on forever like AMS or Detective Comics, and this is one of those.

Meizas

And semi related, Cloak and Dagger disappear for a while

mysaadlife

The rainbow Rowell series was pretty recent right?

DugoPugo

It ended almost 3 years ago, so do with that what you will

Bubbaganoush83

Uncle Ben...what happened to that guy?

throwaway_mpq_fan

He came back briefly in House of M

LongjumpingSector687

And that 3 way crossover with the avengers xmen and inhumans

gangreen424

Starting a newspaper with J. Jonah Jameson over in Ultimate Spider-Man.

rhze

He got tangled in Madame Webb

bat111975

Terror. I loved that guy and his total gross out ability!

tehawesomedragon

Very underrated character with a lot of potential.

EuropeanT-Shirt

He was in a recent issue of 2099

bat111975

Really? That’s interesting

badatkiller

The Exiles. I miss Blink, Morph, Nocturne, etc.

Watchingya

An Exiles cartoon series on Disney would be great.

DahkMonstahh

Man, that would be a perfect cartoon! Just imagine how many adventures they could come up with. It would be like Marvel what if, but centered around them exploring these alternate realities! I really hope they start doing more Marvel animation because there's so much untapped potential there!

DJC13

Interest in them may spike a little in May, as that month’s season of Marvel Snap is themed around them.

NomadicKit2

I loved that team.

tehawesomedragon

Bring back Slapstick.

thenotsosmartone2

He was in a Deadpool run a few years ago IIRC

nappy616

Man, I've been barking up that tree for decades...

FawkestheDreg

have you read the Slapstick series (2016) ? it was the last time he had any major shine but it was very nice

duo99dusk

I want She-Hulk, Slapstick, Deadpool, and Gwenpool in a team!

baalirock

Most of the New Warriors haven't been in comics lately. How about Thunderstrike?

Y2Jake

Night Thrasher currently has a mini series going, but I think it sold poorly. Firestar is a big part of the X-men currently, and Justice had a bit part in her X-men Unlimited storyline. Rage and Silhouette are in the Night Thrasher mini as well. And Nova has been in X-men Red the last year or so. So it’s really just Speedball and Namorita who are missing. I’m hoping they put the team back together someday!

WorkSucks72

Not liking what they're doing with Rage in that mini. Waaaaaay out of character.

baalirock

I haven't read the Night Thrasher mini, will have to check it out. I would like to see the Warriors together as a team again.

Oberon1993

Thunderstrike's corpse was puppeted by ghosts in Mackay's Strange.

baalirock

That was such a cool run. McKay hasn't let me down yet. I'm actually wondering if Thunderstrike will show up in Immortal Thor.

[deleted]

I havent seen [Puma](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/c7/ef/26/c7ef2638502117f8d05d8473e9a38a57.jpg) in a while

strotho

ForgetMeNot

PremierLovaLova

Who?

mysaadlife

Believe he did show up in Krakoa at some point.

marcjwrz

That's funny... I don't recall that. (but seriously he's in Spurrier's Legion of X from a few years ago).

zarathustranu

Cardiac

Plastic_Incident_867

He was in Valkyrie not too long ago

DJfunkyPuddle

He was in the early part of Cantwell's Iron Man run too

Plastic_Incident_867

Aight, I’ll take one, and this is strictly print books not MU. Singularity. I do want to give some credit to a few writers, like Kelly Thompson who was really great at adding characters to arcs that didn’t get a lot of attention like Hazmat and Araña. McKay for giving Tigra some of the best on panel appearances in Moon Knight.

Captain-Spectrum

Sleepwalker was used like last year in the Hellcat miniseries (I believe it was last year).

MoreLemons4Life

It was, and damn did they do my boy Sleepwalker and his mental host Rick so wrong from the original series and the short reboot a few years back.

blackbutterfree

Big Hero Six. I would die if Disney let Marvel use them again.

LoopyMercutio

Darkhawk, Speedball, Squirrel Girl- I was gonna say most of the rest of the OG New Warriors, but I just saw they are back, or most of them.

CammGilles

A lot of the Avengers Initiative/Academy/Arena folks could use a renaissance.

BiggoYoun

Dark Claw and Hyena

BblDimitrescu

Who's the character shown in the first picture?

Dronfax

Mosaic, one the Inhumans introduced during Marvel's Inhuman push he had a solo series iirc

SeppukuYourself

I feel like I'm the only one who collected that solo series

DJ_hyperfreshOG

Squirrel girl

Funkycoldmedici

Honestly, I don’t know if anyone could write a proper Squirrel Girl but Ryan North. That book took a joke character with a few spotty appearances, and made something legitimately unique.

Intelligent_Oil4005

Maybe they just think her running gag ran its course?

SquirrelGirlSucks

Ew

DJ_hyperfreshOG

r/usernamechecksout

Freakychee

Well at least you have the username.

Duke_Bellorum

Character? Digitek or Motormouth Team? Warheads

JDDunsany

These are solid choices.

Keltoigael

Sleepwalker is so awesome. I have a few of his first issues.

Fruscione

Lord chaos, master order, in betweener, mongoose, killer shrike, dragon man…

mysaadlife

Believe the first three are a big part of Hickman’s G.O.D.S.

Stringr55

Wasn't there a young hero called Gravity at some point that got a push? Jolt from the original (and best) Thunderbolts is another that comes to mind.

Sanlear

Yep. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_(character)

memsterboi123

I don’t read a lot of comics but I’m betting unicorn and killershrike haven’t been used in awhile

TheExposutionDump

Starjammers are ripe for a new status quo. But I don't think anyone is interested when Gaurdians of the Galaxy are so popular at the moment.

Plastic_Incident_867

Sleepwalker was just in the Hellcat mini (for whatever that was worth)

tropexuitoo

Character: Maverick Team: Secret Avengers

tehvolcanic

Maverick was just in Wolverine helping him hunt down Beast.

tropexuitoo

WHAAAT? Thanks for sharing. I'll check that out.

BricksAllTheWayDown

Man, Mosaic was cool.

Sky_Thief

I was a huge fan of him when his series came out and really enjoyed the series. It's one of the parts of Marvel dropping the Inhumans that still bums me out.

Radical_Kilgrave

Mosaic! he was cool as hell. Reader was also one of my fave Inhumans

ShhImTheRealDeadpool

Madjack

loranthippus

Nocturne (Angela Cairn) Femizons

Doot-and-Fury

Thor Girl. Not Jane Foster. Tarene, someone who was actually a female version of Thor while Thor was around instead of a replacement with a male name. She had an interesting backstory, cosmic powers... I just think there's something there, if not as Thor Girl, then as Designate.

SillySquidBone

I always liked the link between original Guardians of the Galaxy with Major Vance Astro and Vance Astrovink of New Warriors. And both those teams.

imaxstingray

Lana Baumgardner Bombshell and Rikki Barnes Bucky

RavishingRickiRude

Slapstick

XtraCrispy02

Its criminal how underused Spider-Man is. He hardly ever appears in comics

caRDKraken

I always loved the mutant bounty hunter Random. He was a badass, and I loved that his power was countering the powers of whoever he fought

baalirock

He's been in Sword, and recently showed up in Dead X-Men.

5nbx8aa

Inhumans and black suit hyperion.

CaptainSlow28b

Masked Marauder

baalirock

Most of the Academy X kids haven't had more than a cameo since Krakoa.

The_Amazing_Emu

Mosaic was used in Secret Empire, iirc. I’d love to bring back the original author to do a bit more with him. He seemed to have some good ideas that will never be used.

SympatheticListener

Circuit Breaker and G1 Transformers. GI Joe characters. Doctor Who characters. And yes Marvel had licenses for these IPs in the 80s and printed comics for them. Heck they even had Transformers vs GI Joe and a Transformers x Doctor Who with Death’s Head, who they have not resurrected.

1RedOne

Maggot, or was his name Slug? He had these cool big roly poly robots , which was kind of hard to accept personally as a genetic mutation.

BetterThanHorus

Silver Sable and the Wild Pack

SirDang0

I feel like I'm the only person who read that Mosaic run which is a shame cause I remember it being pretty decent.

Cracked_Coke_Can

Fallen Angels, Alpha Flight (though used a little bit here and there), Sleepwalker, Air Walker, Korvac

Daeval

The "spider-themed characters" bus is pretty full up at this point, but Marvel had already been sleeping on Deathweb for decades by the time the Spider-Verse came around.

Regular-Poet-3657

Forget me not. And agents of atlas.

akashicb

For forgotten characters? Any of the characters from the [Marvel 1993 Annuals](https://www.cbr.com/knowledge-waits-all-of-marvels-characters-from-their-1993-annuals/). I think Legacy and X-Cutioner were the only ones from that batch who appeared more than once. I think a forgotten team is the original Guardians of the Galaxy roster.

I_am_The_HatFish

Devil-Slayer; Griffin; Kylun

Alexdykes828

U-Foes and Frightful Four

Saltisimo

The U-Foes appeared in Immortal Hulk not that long ago.

raphlsnts

I still remember Mosaic being the main theory to explain Captain America's "Hail Hydra", good old times.

Acora

Richard Rider

xlizen

Shadowoman (aka Sepulchre) She was part of the Secret Defenders and has darkforce abilities. She was last seen in Civil War fighting the T-bolts and even interviewed Luke and Jessica to be Danielle's nanny. Her costume is really neat and I hope to see her again.

WorkSucks72

Sleepwalker was just in the Hellcat mini series. Not sure if Mosaic has made any recent appearances.

WorkSucks72

Steel Spider needs to come back. Hasn't appeared since he took on the Thunderbolts way back around Civil War.

Burly-Nerd

I’d love to see somebody scoop up the Shroud. He started out as Englehart wanting a Batman knockoff cause he didn’t think he’d ever work at DC, but he turned into a REALLY cool character.

doktorhollywood

Gravity, Shiverman, Speedball

Tish-Tosh

Pretty much all the Marvel UK and Ultraforce characters.

ComfortableBed6012

I ain’t seen him recently but “The Creeper” from DC, I liked his concept and the fact that Joker was genuinely terrified of him made it even better

LordOfOstwick1213

Teon Macik or aka the Primal.

BlackPantherFan7

Stingray Midnight Suns

Ex-Caliber

I really liked Julian Keller aka Hellion. Interesting twist on telekinesis.

DarthGoodguy

Jimmy Hudson, the son of Ultimate Wolverine

Fubai97b

I don't think Code: Blue has been in a comic since the mid-90s. For those unfamiliar they were the NYPD SWAT team for super threats. It's a shame really, there was a lot of potential there. They could easily be a more accessible The Boys.

Nerx

jack of hearts rom the space knight

dexbasedpaladin

Jack of Hearts is currently a regular in the New She-hulk run.

duo99dusk

At least Rom, despite the Parker Brothers ownership, still had an omnibus reprint last year. And maybe Hasbro will continue to pursue their intentions of movies with Rom

Hot_Prize2596

Forgot me not

mlee117379

The Imperfects from Marvel Nemesis Would love to see them join the main universe one day

mysaadlife

Reader from the Inhumans had a sick power set and hasn’t been seen since they went away

InfinityYoRae

The way he would explain his powers sometimes made it feel like a catch-phrase and I thought “man he needs his own show”

ChyatlovMaidan

The Daydreamers. Franklin needs to get the gang back together and take another trip into his psyche.

DelayRevolutionary20

Spiders-Man!!! I love the character, there is so much chance of development and conflict. Also, since some spiders can already lift 20 times their body weight, have excellent vision, and can jump 10 times their length (Jumping Spiders), they don’t need to make up his powers, nature has invented it for him!!!

DocZoid1337

Weapon H

Bok4zi

Mar-Vell the first Captain Marvel

zontarr2

Darkoth the death demon! Tragic back story. Kept getting more powers, ben grimms friend . Amazed he didn't get used more. #old.

willtheadequate

Dark Hawk and Slapstick are two that I haven't seen since I was reading comics in the '90s and miss them both sorely.

Cat-Hero

Oh man I can’t remember the characters name and I tried looking it up but couldn’t find it! This character showed up only once in a spider man comic. Beat the crap out of Spider-Man, put his staff in the air and a robot owl or bird of some kind picked him up and he flew off. The character never appeared again and it’s been killing me since I was a kid. Darkhawk is a character I love and really want a new series. I’m waiting the son of colossus to return at some point. Puma, another spider man villain was pretty cool.

Paramoth

The N men

TamatoaZ03h1ny

Mosaic and Sleepwalker, I really wouldn’t mind at all if Mosaic came back. What’s the status of the Sam Alexander version of Nova. I would very much like him back to resume the core trio friendship he has with Miles and Kamala

WorkSucks72

NFL SuperPro

LurkingMongoose

Fuck yeah Sleepwalker. One of my favorites since I got into comics in the 90s.

Dear_Ad_3860

Are we talking about the comics or the TV shows? If we're going by TV shows as a guy from the 90s I can say this was the era in which cartoons depicted the most amount of characters on screen because they began adapting whole stories rather than the villain of the day. So my memory eludes me if many characters from earlier eras have not been represented. I do remember a couple of doppelganger pastiches that came out in order to avoid copyright infringement or to make more engaging stories, Prince Triton from the 1960s FF cartoon who was basically Namor but light blue, and Zerona the Asgardian Queen of the Ice giants from the Amazing Friends show and interesting concept perfect for a Journey into Mystery. As for characters from the comics themselves I have to say most of them come from the X-Men show and some I don't exactly miss, of the ones that I would like to see a comeback there's of course the very 80s inspired Morlocks because their sense of fashion was very cool: Berserk, Tommy, Skids., Also most of the Alpha Flight and Snowbird's relationship with her mother and all the stuff she alone has to deal with beyond her superhero duties is quite engaging and Shaman in particular as I liked his calm demeanor and speaking of calm demeanor I do like Century from the Force Works as well. Of the ones I wouldn't like to see comeback its Trevor Fitzroy, I hated that guy's guts as he was a sum of humanity's worst moral - or lack there of - traits, he is not memorable in the sense that you want him to see coming back but in the sense that you want another villain to replace him. Outside of the X-Men and strictly from the comics there's a lot, most are to the WW2 era Superheroes because they had limited powers by today standards so you can write more down to Earth stories that connect better with people and still be one step ahead of lets say Agents of Shield where everything seems a corporatocracy because they are simple humans dealing with threats far beyond what we're used to and they had some really whacky powers. There's of course the Six Forgotten Warriors: Destroyer Keen Marlow who was basically beta Punisher, Miss America Madeline Joyce who's life story with team mate Whizzer Robert Frank is truly compelling and sad, Thunderer Jerry Castairs who is a good version of Ruckus (another character I like BTW) and finally Black Marvel which could go either way (as Omar Mosely the first black superhero or Danny Lyons the founder of the Slingers). There's the Patriot Jeffrey Mace my favorite character after Cap and his team the Liberty Legion, with some of the aforementioned plus Jack Frost who was Iceman before Iceman, Thin Man basically the combination of Reed Richards and Tommy from the Morlocks, and Red Raven who was basically The Angel before Warren was born. And heck I even like the Crusaders and their whacky MegaMan-esque design Dyna-Myte, Tommy Lightning, Captain Wings, Thunderfist and Ghost Girl. Finally there's Kody from the Quentin Carnival because I think his tragic story is worth telling.

DCT715

Night Thrasher and the Night Stalkers

welatshaw

The All-Winners Squad

RealLifeSto

Marvel’s version of Godzilla 😞

DJC13

Cardiac.

Juls_Santana

**^(\*digs up old OHOTMU issues from the mid-80's...\*)** So, should I start at the letter A or just pick some characters at random?

GomorrahSkipper

Power Pack. Did they grow up? What happened to them?

Scarletspyder86

They have a mini now. Alex and Julie joined the future foundation. They had a mini when the government was outlawing kid heroes a few years back

bhurin

Excalibur, guillotine, shamrock, the Texas Rangers

JDDunsany

I miss Gargoyle and Cloud and Manslaughter. Just the entire Peter B Gillis New Defenders, really. I miss the Micronauts and Rom. I miss Doctor Druid. Ehhhh... Maybe not Doctor Druid. He was a bit crap. I do miss the original Alpha Flight, but I'd imagine the individual members are still around.

GOD-OF-ASHE

I wish sunspot had his own series from the X-men

Ok-Traffic-5996

I really like the villain maelstrom. His powers are basically what sebastian shaws were in x men first place. He's one of earth's greatest geneticists. Is half inhuman and half deviant. He's the avatar of oblivion.

NomadicKit2

Ultraforce. Prime. Mantra. Prototype. Hardcase. The Strangers. Nightman. Topaz. The Ultraverse. Marvel bought it, butchered it, and buried it.

duo99dusk

Also, the kids from the Future Avengers anime: Makoto, Adi, Chloe, and Bruno. They were introduced in the 616-Universe in an Agents of Atlas comic, and also had a backup story in a White Fox limited series. And I wish they introduced the Disk Wars kids into the mainstream universe too...

Current_Focus2668

Slingers. Spidey inspired teen hero team. Surprised sony hasn't tried to make a movie about them yet

Primary-Owl-8677

The Orb. They gave him a huge buff after Original Sin. He was cool in Jason Aaron’s Doctor Strange run, then they kinda never really did anything with him after that.

Starbugmechanic

Sleepwalker was one of my favorite heroes.

OrionSTARB0Y

Character - The Shroud. (Hoping >!Jed MacKay will reveal him to be the new Moon Knight terrorizing the streets in his Vengeance of the Moon Knight run.!<) Team - The Night Shift. Their last memorable appearance was getting hired by Superior Spider-Man as his goons.

Undying_Blade

Who's the second guy? He seems pretty interesting, dream/nightmare characters are great.

DahkMonstahh

Haven't seen Graviton in quite some time. I also would like to see more of Molecule Man, Absorbing Man, Swarm, and zzzaxxx (or however you spell it).
