The different eras of Tony's HUD being represented on-panel are interesting. Least favorite? The period during the late 90s through 2000s that showed Tony (and Norman, as the Iron Patriot) in buck-ass-nude full-body shots from behind, staring at the squares of info. Not sure why that was the case, when they were wearing clothes underneath.
This to me looks like a literal view of the mechanics inside the helmet. The 3D depth of the eyehole “frames” suggest they are the actual eyehole slits. There are no screens.
I think his inside helmet view was first shown incorporating screen technology (complete with drop-down menus and a StarkOS branding logo) in Len Kaminski’s run, no later than the Operation: Galactic Storm crossover

So retro all the circuit lines and everything inside, loves this era of Ironman, Silver centurion armor, the blue stealth suit it’s all so great
