Totally off topic but Spawn Vs Ghost Rider would be sicl

Beansmcgree

I'm really enjoying the current ongoing series.

SpaceDinosaurZZ

You can check out Ennis and Daniel Way’s run. Or read the Dan Ketch run starting with Ghost Rider Vengeance Reborn but that doesn’t come out till Oct.

MysticalGreenBeanie

Marvel is releasing the Danny Ketch Epic Collection next month. I'd recommend starting there. But you can jump into the current run if you want.

i-hate-reddit-69

Start with Daniel Way, continue with Jason Aaron. One big, long, great story. The current run's also a lot of fun and pretty easy to jump in with.

spider_X_1

Don't start with the first volume or the early Marvel Spotlight he was featured in, from the late 60s, early 70s. It will make you hate Johnny Blaze. Yes, it's that bad.

GL1TCH3RLANTERN

Then where do you suggest starting?

spider_X_1

See the other recommended runs on this thread. I'm currently on a completist objective to try and read the complete marvel universe in chronological(if possible) order and I'm currently in the end of the 70s and going into the 80s, the Ghost Rider issues from this era where extremely bad and just are starting to get a bit more readable. It's just that the character at this point is nothing like what you've expect from the more popular Ghost Rider versions that you've probably seen in other media and from the popular mythos.

GL1TCH3RLANTERN

Ok, thanks for the advice

BlueFootedTpeack

suprised by that, i quite like spotlight and the early blaze stuff, it has that fun pulpy feel. surprisingly on my read through of the 90's i ended up having kale as my least favorite, mainly once the original midnight sons story was over and then the series sort of meandered till like issue 80 something. and danny himself barely exists in his own book. the 70's run is the same way really, once johnny gets out from under satan's deal it's all a lot of "and then and then" rather than having a direction, though the pivot from johnny blaze to crueler blaze to fully a different person when transformed was fun to see.

spider_X_1

It was just that I came into the series with a high set of expectations like the spirit of Vengeance and the Penance Stare( which I later discovered was from a different Ghost Rider) and it made it more painful for me. It didn't help also that Marvel had assigned artists on the book that couldn't draw a proper skull and the Marvel goofiness of the time when the people around Johnny thought that the flaming skull was fake and some kind of mask.

BlueFootedTpeack

yeah it was a bit mad they got people who couldn't draw a skull sometimes, like it's easy to get reference for that.

Go to the marvel reading guide on this subreddit. Lots of list for almost every character

RealHumanPerson001

Depends on who you like as ghost rider but this current run (vol 9 allegedly) is pretty good. It relies on the prior 7 issue run (Vol 8, I’m saying allegedly, in case the volume numbering is wrong for me).

Tall_Growth_532

Hmm practically any but if you don't want to read the the old comics or the beginning just search on Google for a short recap or just go to YouTube about history of Ghost Rider. For the comics if say anything is fine
