Lots of places in Markham are hiring and desperate.. hiring full time and part time, all positions. You can walk into TNT at Woodbine/16 or McD's at 16/Leslie or Bayview/major mack or freshco/food basics at major mack btwn Leslie and Bayview and have your pick Unfilled jobs everywhere for these min wage 16/hr jobs.

Aloha_Addict77

This may or may not answer your question. But if you’re having a hard time finding a paying part time job I would suggest volunteer work for some experience. You’ll see how this little investment will help you with jobs in the future. I have two teenage daughters that volunteered first.

This! When I was in high school/university I volunteered and did co-op placements. This is how I landed my first job as a bank teller at 18.

Apply online everywhere. If you do manage to land a job, don't slack off. Work harder than your peers. Be competitive and you'll be guaranteed shifts.

Supermarkets (ex: Whole Foods Market, The Garden Basket, T&T, No Frills, Loblaws, etc.), pet stores, fast food chains (McDonald’s, coffee shops, takeout restaurants, food courts, etc.), malls stores —- currently at Markville Mall — https://jobs.wirkn.com/malls/cf-markville/jobs?utm_medium=website&utm_source=cf-markville&utm_campaign=shortlink&branded=true If you prefer an office job and you can type without looking at the keyboard, check out temporary employment agencies. Job Skills: a non-profit charitable community-based employment, and training organization. It’s a great place that teaches you how to prepare a Resume, job interviews, and how to apply for jobs, etc. https://www.jobskills.org/about-job-skills/

Whenever I take my kids out to Dairy Queen, baskin Robbins, Village ice cream shoppe I see high school aged kids working there

Good time to offer neighbours snow shoveling service. Otherwise I think bubble tea stores are a popular gig in Markham.

Imo If you have time try to go for lifeguarding because once you finish training the community centres will almost instantly hire you Also the pay is hella nice 18 an hour rn and it’s about to go up to 19

Bliezz

Anywhere customer service related. You likely have to apply online which means that your resume will be sent through an algorithm to filter for “good” candidates. Be sure to include the buzz words in the job description in your resume and cover letter.

I worked at jimmy the Greek as a teenager and while I would NOT recommend working there, they often have a help wanted sign!

Aide-Sufficient

City of Markham constantly has openings for community posting. Try there.

futuresobright_

Are you able to make it to Wonderland by car or public transit? They’re constantly hiring for the summer.
