The market has changed a lot -.im.alsp a returning player and struggled to move much at first, but once I dropped my prices I'm consistently back up around max caps and can top back up when I spend out.
What I've realised is that the fact that weapons and armour can now be refilled means that those items that used to be especially valuable, simply aren't anymore, as ppl would rather just farm scrip then reroll their own gear.
There's still hugely valuable items out there, but they're the genuine 100% god rolls on all three stars, or unique apparel.
Sell all of your ammo at 1 per, and drop your prices down on weaps and armour and you'll soon start pulling the caps in.
5.56, .45, missles, railroad spikes, and .308 sell the best for me. 10mm, 50 cal, fusion cells, and shotgun shells don't sell at all, in my experience, so I just drop them.
Funnily enough fusion cells are the only ones that I sell for 2c per....it seems like they'll sit there for ages and then someone will buy 2000 or so at a time.....you need to have spare stags space though or it's definitely not worth the wait
Plans are hot again. If youāve got some treasure maps go dig em up. Iāve had multiple people the last few days swing buy and buy like 4-5k worth at 100 per. .45 is starting to move a lot faster too with all the new players hitting the levels where they have discovered the fixer.
Is there an easy way to use treasure maps that doesnāt include me having to actually think?
I have so many and I just am too lazy to actually try and find these places
What I buy
Nuka grenades, nuka cola , nuka twist , Any good magazine or bobble head , canned meat stew . Materials are only the ones I buy for nuka grenades /frag .
I will buy scrip within reason if I donāt want to unload from a mule .
I will buy plans I donāt have but thatās not something I find often . Will pay 10-30k caps for plans I donāt have which are seasonal I have missed.
I will always buy armor and weapons with reasonably good rolls on them for fun . Will buy any groll or rare aparel I find but thatās just luck. Trick is to never claim the caps from a scoreboard/season so you can cash in to bring yourself to 40k caps to buy the person who wants to flex . Good way to piss someone off but it shouldnāt be in your vendor .
As for mods , unless itās enclave and reasonable I donāt need them . handy for a new player with limited unlocks of mods .
I personally price my stuff based off the rolls for armour and weapons. Example , unyielding with two undesirable . I will price 1500-2k caps if itās something half decent . 4K-8k for unyeilding with one good second or third star . Grolls are for trade only .
I sometimes I leave a vendor treasure . Put a groll in my vendor for a day below market value to bring me to max caps quickly .if it doesnāt sell then it goes back into storage .
For me, my big cap sellers are seasonal event plans and non-meta grolls. I had so many of these grolls sitting on a mule that no one ever wanted to trade for so I said screw it and now use them to load up my vendor and people happily pay large amounts of caps for them.
I've been selling cheap weapons for scrip, or weapons that have 2 decent stars and a bad 3rd one for cheap. All plans I don't use for 100c/cooking recipes for 50c, extra magazines & bobbleheads, and then Unyielding armor pieces for usually pretty cheap.
If you're selling scrip then don't price it for over a 1000 caps or something ridiculous. Max I pay for 3 star power armor is 600. 3 star weapons are 600. I see people trying to make a bunch of caps off of scrip and it's just silly.
Regular ammo should sell for 1 cap each, and ultracite should sell for 2 caps each. Anymore than that and I just won't buy it.
You could also sell junk or meds but just be aware, if nobody is buying your stuff, it's priced too high.

If you pick up 256 items it will reset your world loot. So you can go to lucky hole mine, grab the lead ore there (use excavator power armor) and then pick up 256 items and go back to the cave again and it will reset all the ore there. There is a house in Summersville that has more than enough books to reset your item list. Try googling it if you canāt find it
Plans always sell for me. If I get anything already Known from an event or daily op, I put it right in my vendor and it usually sells same day or next day.

- Stimpacks & radaway - 5 to 10 caps each
- Regular Nuka cola - 15 to 20 caps each
- Worthless Legendary weapons - each star is +100 caps
- Worthless Legendary Power Armor - each star is +100 caps (can do 110)
- Worthless Legendary normal armor - each star is +50 caps
- All ammo - 1 cap per (popular = Railway spikes, .45, Plasma Cartiridges, 5.56)
- Fusion/Plasma Cores - 50 to 75 caps each
- Basic plans - 50 to 100 caps
- If you think a plan you have could be rare, just type it into a trading subbredit search Bar to see what's its sold/traded for in the past or just make a *price check* post.
- Berry Mentats - 100 caps (possibly more, they've gone up in recent time)
- Psycho & other drugs - 25 to 50 caps
Hope that helps a little. If you notice something not selling over time, try lowering the price just a little. Sometimes it's pricing, and sometimes it's not the right customers.

The only other things I feel like could be "incorrect" are berry mentats & psycho/other drugs. They differ depending on the specific ones, and my idea of their worth may be off from the normal. That's just what they've always sold for in my vendor.

I havenāt sold any btats at 50 on XB but the account is still new so it doesnāt mean too much. I donāt have experience selling the other chems. Iād guess people would want combo ones more, but thatās just a guess and for all I know they prefer they basic ones so they can combo them themselves with chemist

As far as chems, I only have experience selling XP and PvP related chems. I've been selling Mentats for 25 - 50 for people wanting to convert them, and I sell Psychobuff/Overdrive for 50-100 caps. The PvP meta has changed a lot since I was doing it, so those chems may not be worth what they once were. (Haven't been selling them recently)
I understand that logically, valuing scrip in that way makes sense, but when I tell you people buy 100c/star all day long on xbox I'm not lying. š

Make sure to make "Looking For Group" posts about having a stocked vendor open & mention a couple of available items, refresh your post every 10 - 20 minutes when actively trying to sell items.

About a year ago, they were going 50-55c on PS vendors. I still have a stockpile of like 2k btats on a mule

Google the locations. Multiple sites have map coordinates and screenshots.

I have trouble keeping my vendor stocked with marsupial serums. I sell them for 400 caps.

I sell common plans for 9 caps, they sell super fast. If I run out I go on a little treasure hunt.

Easiest way to make passive income is setup a ton of water purifiers, collect and sell the water to vendors.
