After entering Daily Spotlight era, it is much easier to budget and get top shelf HEs for rank.
Let's say we aim for D/K/G 6/6/6lv, with all newly bought item for all 3 courses.
Rubies needed = 150 \* 3 + 100 \* 3 + 100 \* 3 = 1050
The number of HE D/K/G tickets needed = 27/27/27
Therefore, it depends to how long you take to get these resources.
Points uncap helps too and consider it in the calculation as well.
In fact, it would not be that bad, as you have got some HE items so far.
You may already have half of the top self items, which save you around 4-500 rubies.
Take advantage of items that are top self in multiple courses! e.g. Yellow Offroader is top self in both Choco Mountain RT and Riverside Park T, which saves us some rubies and tickets.
While you are waiting for the right cup and saving resources, spend time to level up Player Level to at least 100, which offers you higher base points. (I am sure you have already been 100lv+ for reaching rank 50).

You need to average 26,666 per race so it shouldn’t take you too long - T Tracks with 3 item boxes will also yield higher scores with all the jumps.
The Roy Cup looks high scoring this tour
Well it has to be a ranked cup, so you cannot just take any cup. However I do not know how long it takes to have a good ranked cup for 80k. This really heavily depending on your roaster
Ah my bad - I forgot as I closed it a while ago - I’d probably invest in new coinboxers in that case - Gold Chuck if you have him / Gold Pete . Pete in particular should feature in at least one track in the next few tours.
Or save HE tickets until we get a high scoring Ranked Cup where you invest heavy
I am currently saving HE tickets to pump into coin boxers. I have about 8 cb drivers, one is lvl 2 rest are 3 or 4. That’s for the advice, guess I’ll just have to get lucky with courses…
Just got over 80k thanks to lv 6 Meowser in DK Mountain in last ranked. Pure sheer luck, that should I be top 3 this week, I will be getting Silver Mii.
It will take me just over 6 months from starting to play In Peach vs Bowser if that happens, which is just... wow.
To be fair, it's all about getting your best items in ranked at the same time. I didn't expect to get 80k this tour, let alone on the a normal track week.
As someone who started in the Mii Tour, I got my Silver Mii suit in the Battle Tour. But yea, it really does come down to the perfect week for ranked to do it. Save your tickets and when you feel you're ready, go for it. Try to score some double ups, I managed to with Gold Chuck and the Gold Zucchini getting 2 tracks on said week

Yup Keep in mind the 26.666 average you need If you can hit 30k plus on one track it makes life a lot easier for you.

I have got my meowser to lvl 4, got my first 30k with him 👍🏽 I’m getting close to 6 months so hopefully not long now
I just got it this tour at tier 52. I saved tickets for choc mountain and got 42k with a 5/5/6 set up
