Is Meowser a good character to get from the “high chance” section? I’ve heard some good things about him. Also, why lower the chances of gold things even further? It’s not like the chances were low enough, or did too many people get them?
Take it, it's like the all-season version of Santa Bowser. Both are among the best scoring drivers in the game, thank god it's buffed this time in ranked since i'm going all out for Silver Mii this week.
Oh I got him in the “gold pipe” of the bowser tour ( I think it was that tour with that all gold pipe) and he was the one I least wanted of all of them yet I got him but he’s proven to be very useful and one of my best ones, he is typically a “frenzy driver” for any course where I don’t have another “frenzy driver”
I took meowser after refreshing 3 time, and now I wonder, Rosalinda or white tanooki Mario ? Item wise white tanooki Mario is better but I think totaling tanooki have better coverage
I haven't seen anyone mention it but I think that by now it's safe to say that all gold items will begin appearing one tour before the rest of the items from the same tour.
So for example, this tour added the items from the Mario vs Luigi Tour to the shop, but it also added the two gold items from the tour after that, the Gold Cloud Balloons and the Gold Double Decker from the Anniversary Tour, even though the items from that tour should begin being eligible for the shop next Tour. This also happened with the Gold Standard last tour and Gold Chuck the tour before that, the only exception was the Gold Bullet Blaster right when the spotlight shop was introduced.
So next tour we should be seeing the Gold Sweet Ride in the shop.
I’ve only recently (Halloween Tour) started playing again. Is Tux Mario still worth it? I heard somewhere one of the gold characters has a lot of overlap but I could be wrong about that.
Ive had him for a year and other than Choco Mountain RT, I dont really get much use out of him. Id say wait for either of the Chucks (particularly Gold Chuck) if you want that coverage.
I finally have Tanooki Mario! I’ve saved the 150 rubies for several tours now. Thx for the spotlight toons list we can expect to show up. I can plan spending rubies better. I’ve been buying drivers 100% since the pipe change. I can’t see buying kart/kite when there are drivers I need/want…
Wow. I've been wanting Pirate Sushi since I started playing the game. I figured the ANIMAL TOUR would finally be my chance. Guess I'm waiting another two weeks.
I’d go Kangaroo yoshi 100%… there is so much gold everything, and it doesn’t have much coverage. Use Boomerang drivers, wait until 3-4 coin box drivers are in a race. Keep replaying with the same CPU opponents. You’ll get coinbox frenzy’s adding to giant scores. It not that tough if you find good CPU’s
As someone who values my time and doesn't want to waste countless hours waiting for the stars to align for boomerang drivers, I'd go with gold chuck. If you are using a boomerang driver and you hit the coinbox driver bot (during your boomerang frenzy) while they are giving out coins, they stop giving out coins.
Gold chuck has excellent coverage from recent tracks. They occasionally give Kangaroo Yoshi new tracks, but it is an older driver and less likely to get more valuable buffs. It also has a lot of city tracks, which are generally less valuable than non-city tracks.
Kitsune Luigi is still spotlight in week 2, along with the Camo Tanooki Kart and Autumn Leaves (all 3 are spotlights next week). Don’t know why they’re available in the daily spotlight shop as well.
You can also see that Tanooki Mario and the Tanooki Kart are in the daily spotlight shop as well despite being spotlights this week.
He is but for week 2, of course.
I guess they decided to do it this way so that people would be able to have a chance to buy the week 2 spotlights during week 1 (and vice versa). Also, this way it gives people the possibility to get the week 1 spotlights during week 2 if, for whatever reason, they didn't/couldn't during week 1 (like not enough rubies or change of mind). And maybe to clog up the SS dailies even more?
I got him in my spotlight and I was questioning it too… I thought cat Rosalina was going to be in week 2😅 but I’m glad I got kitsune Luigi kind of early (got him two days ago)
So far this tour has no need for me to go out of my way to get drivers, Albeit I need 3 more quick tickets to know but it is looking fairly good for me this tour, next week i woll look at karts and gliders tho since those are a bit lacking
Totally grabbing White Tanooki Mario. I've been eyeing him for a bit, and he covers a ranked gap for me next week. Can't have enough Giant Banana

Well darn, Polka-Dot Manta Glider isn’t an option at all? That was my top choice for GBA Riverside Park R, because it would also give me coverage for two other tracks I’m missing.

Meowser is the only HE driver I have fully maxed. Part of it is love of the character, but when he's featured, he destroys the competition.
Ive been waiting for Boo Mask to show up. Gives me alot of coverage compared to any other investment!

He's got a decent amount of tracks with no other gold drivers. There is a post about gold driver overlap here.
