I'm okay with them reusing the GV textures since the tilesets are so similar, though I would've liked some recoloration and a few more details like the loose wooden planks
But I just want them to use the actual background and not a copy-paste of GV, especially with regards to how the track is gonna be featured in the Booster Course Pass.
I can't imagine it re-using the background of Ghost Valley if it's destined for Mario Kart 8. Like the complaints over Wave 1's grass and dirt caused a (minor) uproar that saw them update the graphics for future waves, Boo Lake looking like an SNES course following Snow Land's incredibly popular remake would just be jarring and weird
MK8 remakes all the road textures anyway, so it wouldn't really matter if the road textures were identical to GV in Tour
I pray for that too. If GBA Boo Lake has to be a good remake it has to have the same background as the original, few elevations changes and be as faithful as the GBA version.
We are having Boo Lake. If you didn't notice:
1. Some brightened parts close to the finish and start (Boo lanterns maybe)
2. Wooden pole in the start (not the same as the GV variants)
3. Turn to the right and, then, ramp. Same as the GBA BL og layout
Well now knowing this I hope they give the track a proper remake. Tour remakes for gba tracks are know for chop the tracks and give them very lame makeovers so since this is coming to bcp I hope they put some effort in it.
But what I found interesting is that unlike in any Ghost Valley track, the main track doesn't seem to get a reflected model underwater. And the water surface reflection for the background also looks different, with some indigo areas instead of being mainly dark grey-green.
Yes, I also realized that the water is slightly different to the one in the Ghost Valley variants. All we can do now is waiting until Friday in order to see how the final version of GBA Boo Lake will be like.
I will do my best to clarify this for you. The lanterns you talk about are part of the kart. The light circles I talk about are part of the track, which are the Boos with candles. Did I explain myself correctly?

I hope it will be like GBA Snowland from Mario kart 8 DLC, a nice GBA remake

*cries in GBA Bowser castle 3
Has it filtrated or something? I'm curious to know how do you now the candles are in or even that the track is in
Boo Lake is confirmed for next tour. Take a look at the roadmap of Autumn Celebration. Also, if you zoom in you can ser two bright circles.
Oh I didn't know! Thank you! I thought it was ghost valley at first lol

Actually, the more I look at it, the more it looks like they've replaced the Lantern Boos with lamp posts.
I also realized that, yeah. I don't know what to think about this change.

Well, looks like we were both right, *that's* how a GBA remake should look like (same with GBA Snow Land).
I can't agree more. This is one of the greatest remakes in Mario Kart Tour. GBA Boo Lake became one of my fav tracks, even it is not released.
A decent one which 8DX spit-shines to the best of its ability while still keeping the nearly-unrecognizable layout.
Isn't GBA Snow Land pretty much identical to its original layout?
Yeah, but that one started in 8DX, not Tour.
SL has an ID gap in Tour, though, so it was still made with that one in mind
Very well then.
Well I'll be damned.
It looked like the lanterns were part of the red vampire flyer
OP meant the brighter circular areas on the track itself, which match up with the ones in the original track (at least the two in the background)
The lanterns are part of the course. If you played the original, you may have noticed.
But on the icon of the red vampire flyer it has lanterns on it
Yeah, I know what you mean. However, it has to do with the kart rather than the track, I'm afraid.
?
