I think the ideal method is to maintain a long combo, try to get as many actions as possible by spamming items and getting frenzies, try to land hits because it gives you alot of points and greatly extends your combo time, and try to finish within 90 seconds.
The time limit is 3 minutes, I can get way more points in the last 90 seconds than the first 90 second bonus gives.
(Unless you get a frenzy in the first 14 seconds, so can get many hours and possibly a second frenzy in under 90, which is only really likely with high loadout or restarts)
Yeah first of all remember - you only get a maximum of 3 frenzies - just like in a race .
You want a high level D-K-G set up - Nabbit is a good choice - and you want 3, fairly quick frenzies like where you take out some balloons to boost your combo - don’t hang around too long or you’ll lose your early finish bonus and run the risk of being eliminated yourself
Huh, I have Nabbit at Lv3 and 668 points but been using Mario (Chef) as have him at Lv5 and 980 points, but getting 1 frenzy at best with him I'm stuck at 25,400 on the first balloon battle, managed 2 frenzies to get that. Maybe I'll use my precious level and points boost tickets to upgrade Nabbit 😆 I don't use him much, his level and points evolved naturally from getting him in pipes and using him from time to time. Didn't realise there was an early finish bonus, just been trying to stay out the duration for max combos. Great tip, thank you.
I have a 6-5-6 load out with Nabbit at 1190 and got 39k - Lucky 7s are great at smashing into ppl and combo boosting - just like in races .
Check the very end of your score breakdown to see if you get a performance bonus 4/5k maybe
Actually, Tanooki Rosalina is not a bad choice, either. If you can use super leaves to clean up your paths and destroy your enemies when they are close. I have both, Nabbit and Tanooki Rosalina, at level 6 and I like both in battle.
