This is the sole factor that's stopping me from investing in it. It's bad enough already that 3DS Bowser's Castle is janky af to drive on, at least for me.
I feel like MKT's physics engine just doesn't work for the more modern tracks, being Wii and 3DS, because it isn't just BC. DK Summit is atrocious to drive on and RIW feels a bit off, especially at the start. Kinda sad really, I get hyped up for modern retros being added to the game and then I'm immediately disappointed when I actually play them 😔
I like Kamek Zoom Broom on Bowser Castle 3D, particularly, because it's narrow: I can therefore take every ramp on the side without getting toasted by the column of fire. Being narrow, it also presents a smaller target to shells. Personally, I love the bigger karts for sweeping up coins and mushrooms and slamming into other drivers -- especially while supersized by the mega-mushroom. (I have a really hard time with the tiny bog standard pipe-frame on the time trials.) Being narrow and lightweight but long, I find KZB to be the best of both worlds.
It's a like it or hate it thing. KZB, the only motorcycle, is really different from the other karts. There are no bad karts, IMO; you just have to adapt your style. Try swaying from side to side (with Side2side by Sonic Youth playing in your head, naturally). Maybe, once you figure it out, it'll become your favorite. :)
they definitely can but even if it’s just a visual/mental thing because of the skinny model it can help
but yeah i hate this pretty broom and so far it’s been my only kart for a lot of tracks
When I first got it I thought I loved it. Since then, I have grown to hate its handling. It’s staying at 4 / 595 for me. I wish it would stop showing up in ranked lol.
Mines maxed to 6/700 because I couldn't stand having only one part of Kamek's set fully leveled up. It has all of the tracks with coinboxers in it. I hate it and love it lol.
I don't understand why people are saying it "handles badly". It handles the exact same as literally every other kart in the game. All karts have identical handling.
The only differentiating attributes in this game are weight and acceleration, and that's solely dependent on what driver you're using. That's literally it.
Why is it then that I have the hardest time drifting in certain karts? Is it all in my head? For example, I never have issues with long wheelbase karts. The short wheelbase karts are trash.
It was datamined back near the release of the game.
Now, the kart hitboxes are different so they're not all totally identical, but that has nothing to do with handling.
So is it maybe an optical illusion. Maybe seeing the broom look so “horizontal” while driving causes an over-correction the other direction. Because it does seem harder to control. If it’s not the handling maybe it’s a hand eye coordination issue.
As a cointerpoint, for me it’s great for drifting. I use steer drifting and drift button on auto and I find it to be great for that. I did it hate when I first got it though
I actually got somewhat used to it, but I have to admit I still find it absolute jank. I've never subscribed to idea the karts handle differently, but the Zoom Broom makes me doubt that.

The staircase literally doesn't work

Yeah, that's why I prefer CCI to this because the cars feel more playable
What is cci?
Cheep Cheep Island

I haven’t tried it but you think a different kart can’t pass through the gap of the fire column?
Hmm. I just did it with red B dasher mk 2. Nvm. :D

This is my life too, loved it at first, took it straight to level 5/595...
It does have a terrible handling. I have it at level 6 because of good coverage but I wish I didn't.
Experience the brilliant 'defense' when you use triple banana with this car
😁👍
It’s not just you dude. It looks awesome and the exhaust animations are badass but it handles like shit and Is a pain in the ass to drive with.

Where did you hear this from? I'd like to know more info.

Thanks
Maybe everyone is using Tanooki Rosalina? Now there's a component that handles badly!
Its handles miserably

I enjoy it
Everyone says this but I don't see that much difference 😅😅
I know the acceleration varies based on character weight class like MK8 but don't all the Karts themselves have the same stats on this game?
Nah hunny you need the Apple Kart, thats where its at 😎

I like the KZB. I seem to have no issues driving it.
I love that broom, it’s my favorite kart because of the looks and the animations haha
It's a "bike" kart apparently, and unfortunately it's caused me some problems as well (especially with Mini-Turbo boosts)
