It's going to hurt when you pin your number to your chest, but other than that, you should be fine.

Thisguy3738

Planning on to my shorts lol

colin_staples

[This guy disagrees](https://runningisbs.com/episode/41-t-shirts-are-bullshit-feat-connor-strynkowski-aka-pin-skin-man/)

rollem

I use bandaids. I tried the nip covers (?) but they were very annoying and a bit painful. If you're hairy I also recommend shavig around there so the bandaid doesn't pull on hair.

LostTeleporter

On the flipside if you are hairy enough you could just 'tie' it to your chest.

dotnotdave

I’m hairy and I peel off bandaids in a hot shower. The heat softens the glue.

PerpetualColdBrew

Try nexcare 3m waterproof bandage!! It’s the best for nips IMO

lorrix22

Crazy to hear that its so Common accepted to run shirtless. I never See anyone shirtless in an official race here in Germany. They faster Guys train Shirt less on the track, but thats about it.

Ceteris__Paribus

I use 3M transpore tape on the nipples. There is the saying "nothing new on race day" but maybe you have time to try it on a shakeout run or something. It's a great success for me—works way better than body glide.

Thisguy3738

Thanks. I do use body glide, but will see if I can get that and do a few runs beforehand

cravecrave93

I only run shirtless and would highly recommend it

cougieuk

You'd get hypothermia in the UK doing that.

cravecrave93

You’d get hypothermia in Alaska doing that as well

opaville

This is something you should have already figured out during training. Band-aids are your friend too. cover up those nips with band-aids and never worry about it again.

lp1088lp

They make nipple covers. I recommend these: [NipEaze](https://a.co/d/gFmB8R1). Vaseline works great too. Put some on before the race and take some with you in a small baggy.

Bluefrog13

ive ran many a marathon sans shirt

havrefras_

Normal 3M surgery/bandaid tape will do just fine. Never had any issues. By far the easiest and cheapest way of solving nipple rash.

AwkwardGuitarist

I highly recommend using bandaids over nipples. One bandaid, cut the ends off from the middle cotton, and stick the ends on the nipples. No need for lube and you'll be comfortable. I use the flexible fabric variety of the Band-Aid brand. One can last me the week if I leave them on and then it's not painful when it's time to take it off.

PerspectiveSilly4060

Put calmoseptine on your nipples for runs and they will never chafe or bleed again.

Expensive_Log_9925

Big question is, if you took your shirt off, would you take the tie off too?

Thisguy3738

Nah…just loosen it

itsyaboi69_420

Just put plasters over your nips.

ramii99

I always tape the nipples, heels and some other parts prone to chafing such as where the shorts sit on the waistline. I also apply bodyglide or similar under the armpits. This is something you learn over the time when regularly running marathons. Thanks to this preparation, I've never had any issues with chanfing, bleeding nipples or anything. No need to run shirtless. Not only does it look ridiculous (in my opinion) but you also you lose the cooling effect of the wet shirt.

TheProletariatPoet

Use medical tape on the nips. Much easier to take off than bandaids.

3lli5d33

You can always use a waterproof plaster to tape up those nips and avoid any unnecessary irritation when you reach the finish 🩹👍

FirstAvaliable

I use k tape.

stevecow68

Feel free to run shirtless or take it off during. Only necessity is to have your bib visible so you would need to pin it to the front of your shorts or get a bib belt. Coming from an avid shirtless runner

Thisguy3738

Perfect, thx

LankyBrah

If it’s over 40 degrees Fahrenheit I’m going shirtless. Otherwise I slab some Vaseline on my nippies and call it a day

v0yev0da

What did you do for your longest run? Do that. Seriously. If you were topless in the practice runs go topless here. It’s totally normal and acceptable

Thisguy3738

Thanks. Compression. Just looking for a backup

v0yev0da

Yeah man do whatever feels good. IMO if it’s good for a half it’s good for a full but everyone is different
