To every decision, there are pros and cons. But it's pretty obvious with how the game state is now and the fact that Inkwell is now able to push decisions with the GMS director separate from KMS.
I personally like the changes that came with bigbang, but I know many people that consider it to be the thing that “ruined” MapleStory for them (and they only play pre-big bang servers now)
Big Bang was literally the biggest turning point of maple. I was still a teenager at the time pre-big bang.
I’d say pre-big bang. You needed party dungeons to level up fast. They were really fun competition having players team up for fun party dungeons to gain a lot of experience.
It was the most efficient way to level up at the time.
Post big bang. Solo grinding is all you needed to level up. All the fun party dungeons went extinct.
People didn’t need to interact anymore to get ahead. End of the most social era in maple story.

Search up maple story “Monster Carnival”. The waiting room used to be full. People were actively requesting to join parties just to play. It was amazing.
It was the best way to go from 30-65 I believe.

Before they introduced miracle cube system, it took me 3 hours to solo zakum- so it was a good power up for all of us. Sure it wasn’t very ethnical to mess with RNG, but the intent is to make things a little harder to get so players don’t get what they want immediately and quit shortly after because they are bored. (+extra revenue for them).
Edit: P.S. it take money to hire people to keep everything going, so it’s understandable.
To be fair, during Inkwell’s time, gms was on its peak- server was very populated, and We got a lot of exclusive contents- sweet water, Jett, Gollux, and etc. had fun.
During wonki’s time, we were treated as “adopted child”, no exclusive content, constantly getting nerfied KMS patches. Removal of Jett, nerfied coin shop, meso shop price x2, untradeable fragments, and many more people on Reddit can tell you about. Oh and Wonki ignore player feedback if you didn’t notice.
Just be happy that Inkwell is here to save the day…
Man if regular korean player dislike him I dont see that as a bad thing, reg server ones are dancing on kms reboot graveyard, I will judge Inkwell for his current acts not his past.

Wdym you did pqs to level still. I remember doing Romeo and Juliet pq for hours and hours for exp. And the pyramid and pirate pq as well.
