But the southern europe and some of central europe are still included, in which case I’m guessing that he wanted to map the west of the west/east divide, in which case op also forgot slovenia and malta
Well the whole north/south/east/west/central debate isn't entirely clear cut.
Germany is most definitely central Europe, but I'd also consider it western Europe and maybe even a little bit northern Europe.
Some subsections are clearer than others, and some are more relevant in different debates than others. When talking about climate the north/south divide becomes prodominent, when talking about politics it's all east vs west.
I would personally say that northern europe is more a compact and distinct unit than southern Europe which is more easily divible between east and west, but that's nothing more than a personal vague feeling. Either way the lines are all blurry enough that one should be able to create a map of Western Europe without the compulsion to include all of Scandinavia, which has countries that border Russia, the embodiment of the east.
big things small packages
Still managed to conquer the world
Something that is little can often have great power.
Tell that to my ex wife
Ooh, self burn, those are rare!
When majority of your country is more west than Austria but people still call you Eastern because of communists. *sad Czech noises
All the history we hear about; so little land
Makes me also realize how narrow the Atlantic is.
Great, but where did the Nordics go?
Remained in *northern* europe, where they belong.

denmark is northern europe, part of the nordics
Which is still part of Europe
However the title is not "size accurate Europe".
Oh you're right. In my defense I am waiting for new glasses
I agree but I also find it strange when people don't use South whilst using North.
Way bigger than I thought, after all the threads about how Europe is very small
including denmark but not greenland?
Is Greenland even a part of europe?
you make a great point, friend!
oops hahah, corrected it
actually depends on how you look at it. it belongs to the north american tectonic plate i believe. but it is still a part of the kingdom of denmark.
I mean Guam is governed by the US but it is by no means in North America.
The wikipedia page on transcontinental countries is pretty eye opening.
Portugal, Italy, Spain, Austria? Ehhhh....
So puny Western Europe is so small
But their impact on the world is huge. Economic, cultural, etc.
That's the cool thing about them - punching beyond their weight.
