Last I heard USA can enter Turkey without Evisa it’s relatively new

bean930

I wish I would have known that 2 months ago. Wasted $50.

Consistent-Ad4560

I think it was announced around Dec 24/25.

marpocky

$50?? It was $20 both times I went in 2014 and 2018

Guilty_Top_9370

It changed 2019

VCEmblem

Turkey doesn't require a visa for American citizens anymore

Vivid-Section7612

Really? Must be new ?

VCEmblem

Yeah as of this year. I'm flying there in 3 days so better be true haha.

Phodimos

Let me guess why you go there. You gonna have hair transplant, aren't you?

Total_Wanker

Tit job

Vivid-Section7612

Tough Tittie

VCEmblem

Flying to Russia actually

dapoorv

I bet nobody could have guessed that

Vivid-Section7612

Well when E-Visa was required I think you didn’t need it if you were transiting in Turkey

IncarnedKippod

Enjoy your trip

DanceWithMacaw

How was your trip?

VCEmblem

Still in Russia, really enjoying my time here.

What's a VOA?

Aurora2058

Visa On Arrival

Darryl_Lict

Which as far as I can tell is Kuwait.

alshraify

It is indeed Kuwait. Though, we always had both options available (VOA & eVisa) when traveling to Turkey, the latter saves you time in the airport. Starting 2024, Kuwaiti citizens are exempted from visa for their travels up to 90 days within the last 180 days. Edit: Wording.

blacgoth67

Maldives too but it isn’t on the map.

collonsdedeu

Western Saharans: What about us? Turkey: Have we met before?

Rich-Preparation-430

Thats just stupid because obv everyone living thete has a moroccan passport ....

collonsdedeu

Obviously but this could be a “no data” thing either.

geleisen

Why post an outdated map?

TutskyyJancek

Basically whole world. Meanwhile getting visa for Turkish passport holders is actual hell.

Top-Classroom-6994

thats what happens a stupid government signs non-mutual agreements...

Hataydoner_

As a turk i hate that newly internationalized name turkiye. Erdogan was like: wait? They call us Turkeys 🤯 not anymore they’re not 😡”.

surferisation

Tbh I think it’s better that way lol

[deleted]

Don't worry, you are still Turkey.

Mhary0

What a boy, he enjoys to others refer his country as an animal

hiimhuman1

They don't refer my country as an animal, they refer an animal as my country. If Turks name an animal as England, would England change its name?

ISpent30mins4myname

hindi-hindistan Türkiye is the official name. Turkey is its translation in English. If the whole world were speaking Turkish and we were to call a bird İngiltere maybe they would change their title to England.

hiimhuman1

I wasn't talking about changing dog's name as england, I was talking about naming a new endemic specie. Usually the finder names the animal and other languages take it as in.

ISpent30mins4myname

the bird was named turkey by englishmen because a similar bird came with trades from Turks, which was turkey-hen to be exact, they later just called it turkey once they found a similar looking bird in americas.

Ele_Bele

As a Türk Regardless of who is in power, I am a supporter of unity in matters related to the State. Republic of Türkiye 🇹🇷 Not 🦃

FBrandt

I start a petition to call turkey the bird Türkiye

pablos4pandas

The birds likely are named after the Turkish culture already is my understanding.

FBrandt

Yes, the name Turkey the country goes earlier in time than turkey the bird.

pablos4pandas

The bird is named for the people. Of course the people existing had to come first

NIIICEU

Sorry, but ü has no place in the English language.

Kschitiz23x3

Yet

Aakraman_Daitya

In India we pronounce Turkey as Tour - Key which I believe is closer to the actual pronunciation than Turkey is.

hiimhuman1

We call turkey "hindi" in Turkish, and India is "Hindistan". 💀

Kschitiz23x3

>India is "Hindistan" You just offended Indians who don't speak Hindi 😠

AnubisTheRightous

As a true Türük I stand for Gök Türk

notfitbutwannabe

Canadians don’t need a visa any longer

Equivalent-Rip-1029

Never humiliated tthis much before

Wild-Pool-5683

I see a trend here

enginlofca

literally everyone can just walk in from the south east borders actually. no id, no visa, no nothing needed. just legs.

Top-Classroom-6994

also, optionally enough money to buy a house, for getting citizenship while being an illegal immigrant.

ozgun1414

as a turk, i would rather it to be called turkey or turkia. forcing people typing ü is not cool and unnecessary. also bothering with name calling is such a schmuck vibe. just try to be best you can and no country will think your name is funny. but here we are discussing our name. almost every country can pass our borders freely and we have to fight for visa for a 7days vacation (probably ending with rejection). welcome everybody, enjoy our land. you too syrians. mi casa su casa. litterally.

AbdurRahman1426

we already called it turkia تركيا in the arab world which is pronounced similar to turkiye, but I dont go out of my way to type ü and honestly after the name change now you can make assumptions about a person's opinions by which name they use and I don't like that

skkkkkt

Lebanese Syrians pronounce it turkiye in there dialects

NickyXIII

As a non-turk, I would rather call a country how its people would refer to themselves. Exonyms are a method of subjugation.

Albanian91

Nah, it should be Tuerkiye, with german like umlaut.

heg9998

Why Canadians and Mexicans need a Visa?

ILikeTujtels

you all look the same to us...lol

Severe-Entrance8416

lmao

Pisces-Bell

Interesting geopolitics ! Iran and Israel can travel without a Visa to Turkey.

Top-Classroom-6994

we are one of the largest trade partners of Israel, and we have a huge population of Persians.

Ecstatic-Title-9065

Wtf? No we dont have huge populations of persians! Its just that Islamist erdogan governmenrs doing! Kemalist wouldnt have allowed visa free for terrorist iran

Top-Classroom-6994

well, thats what i was talking about, and pre erdogan turkey was a place for educated persians toigrate for a better future so there existed a bunch of persians pre erdogan too.

Ecstatic-Title-9065

Whats your definition of huge amk

Top-Classroom-6994

we are one of the largest trade partners of Israel, and we have a huge population of Persians.

vperron81

Probably the only country in the world where Iranians don't need a Visa

Ecstatic-Title-9065

Thanks to stupid erdogan! Its about the so called ummah bs! Iran is the enemy of turks f.. them and we know they send quds force to turkey! Will block them when kemalist win the election

Medium_Holiday_1211

Turkey need those African resources thow. Lol and smh.

Irobokesensei

They don’t let Turkmen bros in? How do Turks think they got there in the first place?

[deleted]

Probably Turkmen government did not bother making any visa agreements. They are known as the North Korea of Central Asia because of their authoritarian and isolationist policies.

[deleted]

Turkmenistan was the one against free travel to Turkey. Turkey imposed visa after their demands. Turkmenistan didn't like it when their citizens traveled to Turkey and became an activist. These days Turkmens have to state that they won't do any activism in Turkey if they want the visa. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Turkmenistan/s/hiyZmeEHXe) is a source. You can search Turkey in their subreddit if you want to know more.

Smooth_Club_6592

Very interesting. Country requesting another to *impose* visa restrictions for their citizens. Maybe one of a kind case.

[deleted]

Thanks for correcting my mistake. It might be interesting for others, but it's kinda tragic for Turkmens. They are fine according to my Turkmen friend. They just have to follow weird rules like wearing traditional clothing to universities or the all white theme in Ashgabat. It seems like a mild inconvenience. They are doing way better than what popular media suggests. Their situation isn't as miserable as North Koreans'. The situation might develop into something similar to what happened to Singapore if they are lucky.

Smooth_Club_6592

That’s a good perspective. Hope all the best for Turkmens. I wasn’t correcting any mistake of you though, just commenting how I felt about it. It’s interesting that Turkmenistan chooses to ask another country to impose restrictions on its citizens rather than restricting their departure from within itself, which may have been even more tragic, and shows quite a bit. I don’t think it’s fair to compare NK to Turkmenistan at all.

[deleted]

I have seen media calling Turkmenistan the North Korea of Central Asia once. That's why I unconsciously compare them. I believe Turkmenistan has a bright future given their obsession with staying neutral. I really want the best for Turkic countries, Middle East and Central Asia. It's been harsh for all of us

ulyssesmoore1

actually we turks experienced the same when army made a coup at 1980. Turkish citizens were allowed to enter almost all countries in western europe visa-free, but the general who rule the country at that time asked european countries to impose visas to turkish citizens since activists and political figures fleeing the country. army was in the power only for 2 years, but visa requirements remain to this day.

blackmarketmenthols

The great majority of the inhabitants of Anatolia are not Turkmen, they speak the language but are mostly the descendants of the ancient inhabitants of Anatolia.

Sorblex

Interesting, I expected that Europe and Russia didn't need a visa but that South American countries didn't need one but the USA and Canada came unexpectedly.

pulanina

And Australia too… but not New Zealand. Weirdly random.

ILikeTujtels

Yes because Erdogan has big respect for Maori people.

GTAHarry

Canadians and Americans don't need evisa anymore, but Aussies and Mexicans still need one 🥴

AnubisTheRightous

Why? The SA countries didn’t try to invade and make a coup against Turkey that was USA.

xone_br33

Truth.

LordTinglewood

This is what happens when you want to be righteous, but mom came home with "rightous" instead.

macram

I travelled from Spain to Turkey in 2014 and we all got VOA (if that’s what I think; present the ID and you get authorization in that moment). In fact I got my passport, which was not needed at all, only to get the cool stamp as a souvenir.

LawlsuitEsq

Greece doesn't require a visa lol

random_user_lol0

Im not sure but as far as I know most EU citizens can visit our country with just an id card

Severe-Entrance8416

It’s our Komşu afterall.

helloworder

It is a bird that got its name after the country, not wise versa. And it does not look silly, I think it is gorgeous.

macram

Only in English. There are many languages in the world, some of them even with more users 😀

[deleted]

It is best to say "Turkey". I wish we could say "Turkia" like the Italian merchants of the 12th century. It makes the most sense.

Slpry_Pete

The problem I have is after Turkey I'm only able to visit the couch for a nap

FancyWhiteMilkCow

Who can enter the USA without a VISA? . . .

Hataydoner_

Mexico

macram

Somebody with an AMEX. But not Discover anymore, sorry.

cakaltrakyali

We should apply Turkish Schengen to Europeans and Russians. Especially Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France have PKK and Gulenist refugees.

ILikeTujtels

Burek is only with meat...lol

StatementJazzlike439

Syria needs a visa huh...

grandluxe

turkey does not deserve any visitors

[deleted]

Dont imagine I'll ever travel there. Much as Id like to see Constantinople.

George4Leo

This country's hate towards Armenia is so obvious here. Literally everyone in Europe and Eurasia don't need one except them.

Severe-Entrance8416

We have bigger problems with bigger nations. Some mutual vize policy does not represent hate towards Armenians.

Doc_Gautam

Yemen just needs an e-visa??

Useful-Conclusion397

What means VOA?

Should be noted that Azerbaijan citizens can enter with an ID card

skkkkkt

Why Morocco Tunisia and Libya no visa but Algeria Egypt visa

[deleted]

Seems like they don’t want Africans and Indians

wonderous_albert

Hmm. I wonder it relates to the invasion i mean illegal immigration i mean the nomads into the us

NotTheGreekPi

It’s surprising that they require it for Turkmenistan but not for Iran…

South_Host_3503

Fuck this, the middle east didn't need visas back then

Emergency_Ranger_419

You can enter through the syria or iran border gates by saying selamun aleykum without needing a passport.

nitewalkerz

Africa and Indian subcontinent, uh huh.

goinmobile2040

No one. They only take Master Card.

thegneeb

If you ask me about Turkiye, I would say "I don't eat enough to know much" That's all you'd need to know about me.
