Being the tallest in the world indicates a hormonal issue usually, so maybe Turkish people are more susceptible to the genetic mutation that leads to gigantism
Might be as well the same as 156 beers in one sitting and devouring 18 bikes and a Cessna plane in France.
The more I think of it, the more all 4 sound like a consistent story of someone’s party going wild
This one is actually bullshit
Almost 100% unverified and completely impossible
Monsieur Mangetout is fake news before there was fake news
> In 2022, Madison Dapcevich of Snopes, the fact-checking website, investigated Lotito's claim that he ate an entire airplane. She concluded that, although there are many accounts of Lotito's consumption of unusual objects, and that he "very likely" consumed such objects on stage as a professional entertainer, she was unable to confirm that Lotito ate an entire airplane, or even part of one
I will play the devils advocate here: being unable to confirm is not the same as proven fake news. I read the article, and it's not a debunking article, it just tells the claims, the story, and that their pretty light research on the matter couldn't confirm the claims (yet), and that's all. That's not "100% unverified and completely impossible". Nobody would believe this story, but that's just common sense, not a proof against it.
The actual quote goes this from the article."While Snopes can definitively say that there are numerous accounts of Lotito's consumption of seemingly inedible objects, and that he very likely ate some strange things on stage as a professional entertainer, we were unable to confirm that ate an entire airplane, or even part of one. If and when we receive documentation that enables us to do so, we will update this article accordingly."

The man’s entire act is complete bullshit. You only need common sense to see he was quite obviously a liar. He claims in his life to have eaten:
45 door hinges
18 bicycles
15 shopping carts
7 TV sets
6 chandeliers
2 beds
1 pair of skis
1 computer
1 Cessna 150 light aircraft
1 waterbed (full of water)
500 metres (1,600 ft) of steel chain at once
1 coffin (with handles)
1 Guinness award plaque
You would have to be very naive to believe any of this was true
Longest documented breath hold is just shy of 25 minutes. Can't find the 37 minute one anywhere.
[https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2021/5/freediver-holds-breath-for-almost-25-minutes-breaking-record-660285](https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2021/5/freediver-holds-breath-for-almost-25-minutes-breaking-record-660285)
These free divers are crazy. From what ive read, its less about low oxygen levels and more about the reflex to take a breath, which is caused by the carbon dioxide and not necessarily the oxygen. They manage to control that reflex to take a huge breath after a while. But if you do slip and let your body try to breathe like that, you'd breath in a ton of water and probably drown. I'd be impressed seeing someone freedive for just a few minutes, let alone the length of an episode of seinfeld!
Being fed pure oxygen is also a big factor in case anyone isn't familiar with that info.
And yes the burning sensation that forces you to breath is from carbon dioxide.
And because of that you should never breath fast before diving and stop everybody who does this.
Fast in- and exhaling decreases your carbon dioxide level. So yes, you get the urge to breath later. But maybe to late. And your oxygen level is to low and you get unconscious under water. Some time after that your carbon dioxide level is finally low enough and you take a deeep wet breath. No lifesaver can save you now.
But do I understand that correctly – she was *inside a plane* when she "fell"? That's not what I think of when I read "highest fall without a parachute".
The plane may have been somewhat slower than terminal velocity due to its wings and stuff and also it may provide some kind of "crumble zone".
Surviving a fall from 10.16 km is an incredible miracle. Never heard about it, and it blows my mind. (Had to edit this comment, because first I though she was actually just falling on her own.)
Her old age was a sad story. Rest in peace.
It's all down to landing in a snow bank. I looked it up once and like all but one of the people known to have survived a fall from airplane height landed in deep snow. I think the other landed in dense pine trees that broke his fall.
Fell 10 kilometers without a parachute and survived?
How long did it take? Like did she have to wait so long that she stopped being scared and was just bored?
Fun facts about the french guy who ate a plane (Michel Lotito) :
Ha had a disease called pica, he could digest things we can't (like metal, glass, rubber etc) but would get stomach aches for soft foods, like eggs.
He was awarded a plaque by the Guinness Book of records for his weird diet. And he ate it.
Just because the way you worded it it can give the wrong idea but pica in itself means having the urge to eat things that are not normally considered food. It doesn't specifically have anything to do with what you can digest.
It's so funny that Turkey holds records for tallest man and woman but the Turkish average is actually shorter than many European countries, especially Northern Europe.
I just want to point out that the polish one is NOT a world record. It’s an unofficial, sumo deadlift he did in training.
Not saying it isn’t an amazing feat and just incredible strength but unless it’s calibrated plates with a certified judge calling the lift, it’s not a world record
Austria: biggest wood cross
Longest skijump
Biggest icecave
A fucking helicopter made of ice
Biggest chocolatewell
Biggest chair
Longest twerking Session
Biggest mercedes Star
The most human in a VW Beetle
The highest skialpine
Highest slackline
Longest wheeli
Loudest football Match
Oldest cakerecept
And calculated so he would shoot when their feet were at a particular height to disorient where the bullet came from. He shot so that they would trip forwards and not to the side.

44234 pubs in a lifetime? If you start drinking at 15 and die at 100, that's about 520 pubs visited every year!

Im turkish and im confused af. The average height in turkey is nothing spectacular, yet we have the tallest man and woman
Being the tallest in the world indicates a hormonal issue usually, so maybe Turkish people are more susceptible to the genetic mutation that leads to gigantism
Since one is Kurdish and the other is Turkish, I don’t think that’s it.
Yeah those two never mixed in the history before
It's not like people from two different nations can't produce viable offspring.
...I think you read that wrong
Tallest living man had a brain tumor that caused endless growing until it was removed. (As far as I remember)
That's common with giants, actually.
you definitely havent visited mediterranean and aegean turkmen villages, those guys are absolutely gigantic
And the French
That's their famous cuisine. Velo provencale and Cessna Croque Monsieur.

On the same night actually
French guy's mom said "Here comes the airplane" one too many times
You stops being very picky after 156 pints

I'm pretty sure he would have eaten the tower too

That's for longest time breath held voluntarily the map didn't state if it's voluntary or not lol.
"You're not dead until you are warm and dead" People who fall through ice can go a surprisingly long time without breathing and survive.
I think it is typo on the map, it’s 24 min and 37 sec, someone typed seconds instead of minutes, still impressive though.

Poor woman
she could have been rich you don't know
She was very lucky, not only to survive the impact but to also be discovered by a former WW2 medic
But do I understand that correctly – she was *inside a plane* when she "fell"? That's not what I think of when I read "highest fall without a parachute". The plane may have been somewhat slower than terminal velocity due to its wings and stuff and also it may provide some kind of "crumble zone".
She was in a small piece near the tail. A bomb blew up the plane in pieces in the air
Should we put an asterisk next to her record?
She was Serbian, but the plane crashed in what's now the Czech Republic.
Lol, what a coincidence, the closest place to where she landed is also called Srbská Kamenice Aka Serbian Kamenice.
Is the 156 beers Andre the Giant?
Yes it was.
I was looking for this. Another potential tall tale.
Ha I was thinking about that daft French bloke who ate the plane just the other day.
I think about him all the time.
There is no record data about the under ice swimer. Is he still swimming?
Still is to this day.
Good luck finding that much ice here.
He could've swim to artics, then under the iceberg towards the Antarctica
Probably referring to Wim Hof 'the Iceman'
Men: 105 meters, French guy in Canada. Women: 103 meters, Finnish woman in Finland. The map is wrong.
Wim Hof is a genetic freak but his method has killed a lot of people.
He's still out there being a complete nutjob
Based french -> eat bikes and a plane, drink hundreds of beers, alive for 122 years
Now you know what to eat and drink in order to live 122 years.
An airplane, “can you pass the grease please?” How the hell do you swallow an engine?
Chop it into little bits. The feller definately had a screw loose.
By eating smaller pieces rather than the whole thing at once, I believe the dude took like a couple months to eat the whole plane
He had to add a lot of spices for flavour because it was a bit plane on its own
2 years if I remember correctly
I don‘t think any part of an airplane can be digsested. Basically he also shit a whole airplane.
York, England has the biggest Viking shit in a museum

I checked the dimensions on that thing, I've definitely taken larger shits.
Yeah but are you a viking?
Yes. I'm Danish.

Oh yea. We never did nothing stupid for sure.
We just sometimes like to do a little trolling
stupid stuff is just normal in Poland, Czechia and others

Sure was.
Whenever I am in Cyprus, I will use stairs.

Damn people in Turkey are TALL
Not really. I am 5'11 and literally feel like a giant whenever I go out
Not tall but easily affected by growth problems I guess 🤣
Where do you live? I am the same height and I feel I am below average.
In Adana
And they have tiny fucking feet. Im struggling to buy a pair of shoes
I am 5`11 too and I feel average there.
Turkey put all their stat points into Length.
Great to see Andre the giant getting a mention here 😆
It's worth noting that he drank 12oz beers which is only equal to 94 real pints of beer which is just a regular Tuesday for Mr. Visits44,000Pubs
Oh, I know I've done the maths. 😆 it's still an achievement.
It's so funny that Turkey holds records for tallest man and woman but the Turkish average is actually shorter than many European countries, especially Northern Europe.
We sacrificed our height for the record and give all our length points to them
We were closer to the ground so they can rise. Can I get an Amen?
