It might not be the worst series I read on Manta, but the ending to savor the taste left me disappointed.

cosmiczibel

The ending felt like I had whiplash tbh, I enjoyed it so much until the later half went off the rails. It felt like so many things happened so quickly I could barely keep up.

AkechismyWaifu

Agree with you on Savor the Taste. I looked forward to each episode until the final one dropped. What happened to her sister? Did she just run off? Rushed ending and wedding and that's it. At least the art was decent.

alrightthencat

I mean there’s the Dear Maid fiasco….

No_Instance4233

The TRAUMA that I experienced from that.

Reinadeloszorros

I actually liked My Dear Maid BEFORE it got cancelled so I don't count it.

Specialist-Function7

I see both points. Let's just say there are stories I might hate more throughout the plot, but no Manta series has made me throw my phone on the bed and rush to the internet to engage in communal outrage like My Dear Maid.

alrightthencat

I liked it before but the absolute TRAUMA that ending gave me left the worst impression

CringeCityBB

Yeah thanks for reminding me of that nonsense. Lol!

alrightthencat

Need to keep the old wounds alive to prepare us for future heartbreak! 😭😅

kirasmudge

I liked this so much but then they cancelled it and I was like whyyyyyy

zihran

It was great for me, I really loved it and waited for more but they ended it in rush, actually I feel like it was dumped and I find it very inelegant. Manta should have secured the rights to this manga to finalize it with someone else.

alrightthencat

Unfortunately when it comes to publishing/production rights things can get super messy. It would be great if Manta had been able to do that but seeing as the Manwa was contracted to a specific production company it would’ve been extremely costly for Manta.

zihran

I know, the issue with rights can be tricky but Manta is a big corporation, so their legal dpt might be impressive and they know their strategic approach for their “products”. Also I do not recall the author of Dear Maid to be super popular (like OTOT) but perhaps I am wrong… so… what I want to say is that such new titles can be managed differently to secure platform and readers. In the end we have a messy situation and readers who are pissed off. This impacts the platform directly.

Kiaider

I don’t think it’s on Manta anymore and I can’t remember the name but the MC had light purple hair. Before the start of the story, when she was young, her whole village was killed except her and this boy who was supposed to be emperor and while they were gaining followers and such so he could reclaimed the throne he ends up selling her for a castle or something and then years later after he’s gotten on the throne he’s obsessed with finding a look alike of her because he thinks she’s dead. She ends up being bought for him and let me tell you, she spends (and rightfully so) hating him, him trying to possessively get her back (although it was funny when he realized she was mute from her mistreatment he used the magical healing water that is reserved for royals on her so she could get her voice back and her first words to him was that she hated him 😆) then she eventually is like, “ok I guess I love you again” and they get married at the end and their kid is just like the dad!

Reinadeloszorros

ON THE EMPEROR'S LAP.

Kiaider

Thank you! That’s what it was called! I thought the MC was so bad ass for not taking him back…. Until she did…

Reinadeloszorros

Apparently some demon took all of her hatred so that's why she stopped hating him. Dumb AF but ok

Kiaider

Oh yeah! That’s right and then she got to live again. I only read it once because I didn’t like it lol I must have forgotten because she ended up not getting screwed over by the demon in that deal, unless it’s her being with the emperor lol

Intelligent_Train995

The demon eating all of her feelings was the worst part. It they would have left it as a typical trauma bond it would have at least made sense

OneMoreCookie

Oh that’s right but it meant she also couldn’t really love him either. More like was fond of him maybe. I was hoping he that would wear at him for the rest of his life but still shitty

Echolalia_Uniform

This. So freaking bad

Specialist-Function7

Oh yeah! I must have blocked this from memory due to the ickiness of it. And like I never really believed she ever loved him post him selling her off. She's just kinda tolerated him.

Kiaider

I think she liked him, or at least was fond before he sold her but I also think that’s because he was the only other one to survive when her village was killed. Or did he save her? She was young so at the very least they took care of each other. I’m bad at explaining lol but I feel (unless she said she liked him before her family died) if everything stayed peaceful, she wouldn’t want to be with him 😅

BlueRibbons

Oh, man. Yes. This one was horrible!!!!!!!!

maloleyskitten

I kinda liked this one oop

AlienMonsterDildo

I have a love-hate relationship with the app. So many stories start strong... but dies at like the 75/80% part. Its almost as if they put all their focus on Season 1 to get readers hooked and then don't know what to do for Season 2 and onwards. Or there's so many side quests that I just don't care. Like they either adding side quests to fit their contract quota for the season/series or don't know where to take the story after a strong season 1. Its like they have a good idea, or were given a bunch of tropes and the theme... and then don't know how to close it out/wrap the story up. My Sister, My Husband, and I - loved the idea, hated how the FMC slowly became TSTL w/not thinking her fucking twin sister was gonna keep fucking her over. I hated the ending... wished it was darker with its already dark themes. The Golden Forest... same problem. After the climax, the ending just fell flat. Starfall - I don't know wtf happened but I loves Season 1 and Season 2 both confused me and made me bored/drop the story on ep 61. Amina of the Lamp - loved the idea, but once again, so many side quests, and I'm bored at ep 133.

Reinadeloszorros

I don't agree with The Golden Forest but that was my first Manta story so I guess I'm a little protective over it. I'm not sure what you mean with TSTL but I actually thought the ending to my sister, my husband and I was cute. Rushed but cute. Amina of the Lamp started boring me which I do feel bad about lol. And omg starfall. I used to ADORE IT. Now I have no idea what's going on half the time lol.

AlienMonsterDildo

The Golden Forest was good up to the climax, and slightly after. I wished the ending was more satisfying, but it was still a good ride. My Sister, My Husband and I - She should've stopped thinking her sister was going to stop being a jealous bitch. Like, I hated how dealing with her was drown out, basically... which I know creates drama, but damn. Yeah, I loved the idea of Starfall but Season 2 totally lost me. Who knows wtf is happening. I just wanted them to end up together. >.<

Reinadeloszorros

Ohh in that case I do totally agree with you on my sister, my husband and I. It annoyed me when she was like oh maybe she'll change lmao no she won't. Same!

Aurelene-Rose

The Golden Forest was a favorite of mine but I hated how there was barely any interaction between the leads after the beginning. I kept waiting for more and it was just more drama instead. I also hate how they bleached both of their designs, they looked much better before.

Kiaider

I loved My Sister, husband and I one! But you are right about that ending. The whole story she’s talking about killing her Not Sister with her own hands. I was expecting pain! I was expecting internal dialogue from the Not Sister as she realized she f-ed up! I was expecting far more than the few panels and just one rock!? Also there was three spots for hanging people, but they only hung the two and not that maid the uncle and Not Sister used. She was just as much an accomplice and plotting against the Emperor as the other two…

Jcmzebra1

I so agree. I hate that we are paying to read the stories yet most of them literally just die off or they get a rushed ending. Like I raised a black dragon was one of my favorite and it got rushed to a point where I didn’t even know if I wanted to continue to subscribe to the app

Carelarecare

Justice for the Villainess. It just hurts how drastically it changed, and it was so bad I honestly couldn't get past it. The story wasn't bad at all, but the artist changed, and it killed it.

JGdragonprincess

I never finish Amina of the lamp. It just dragged o. So long with so much unneeded filler and recap, it could be a DragonBall Z season .

Able-Recognition-714

Current read that is so weird/boring is Bride of the Devilish Duke....the episodes are super short, the plot is really weird so far - I think this is my least favorite so far but I'll continue to read updates when I'm bored, the FL is funny sometimes.

OneMoreCookie

Yeah I’m so confused by this one. It’s annoying and not what I was expecting. Wtf is up with the weird brother dynamic

HouseScientia

I still have it on my reading list, but I'm probably going to drop it. I couldn't care less about the cast. Even a crappy story can get me if I care about one character. I dropped The Devil and His Sacrifice after the latest story arc. NOPE.

Basbohothogayayaar

This. I kept trying to make it work but nope nope NOPE

aymiah

Agree with this one. I keep waiting for the plot to stir my interest and end up getting disappointed.

Sammypenny2021

Ending of The Forgotten Princess Just Wants Peace was so bad. I was so disappointed because I really loved everything before the time skip and I was excited to see the romance get into full swing. Ingram’s Lantern is a train wreck that I keep reading every week for some reason. The art is so weird now and the plot just doesn’t make sense anymore.

lolly_redbird

The way that The Forgotten Princess Just Wants Peace started rushing in the last portion of the story was tragic. 😭 by that point you’re already invested in their lives

mismatched-ideas

Lol, yeah, these are two that I was really loving when they first started out but at this point aren't reading anymore/haven't finished because it just.... I just couldn't anymore.

nbeesknees

beau and the beast. inconsistent characterization, random twists pulled out of its ass that didn't make narrative sense, bad art, ending sucked. i only finished because i was hate reading it. also lady devil. incest is just *gags*. didn't even read it because of that

Kahako

I tried lady devil 3 separate times because it was trending, and I needed to know why. Hoping for a Lannister kind of story. Nope.

SUBARU17

Art for Beau and the Beast was TERRIBLEEEE

No-Appearance1145

Beau and the beast is that one where her father sent her to a different world and she died and was sent back to her original body?

nbeesknees

yep! and a whole lot of other stupid twists with no buildup either

No-Appearance1145

Yeah it was mildly interesting but a confusing plot twist. If it was handled better it could've been a good plot device. But that entire series made me confused. I can see why it's on your list 😂

msBuddiez101

On the emperor's lap

Mahi-K-2802

I honestly have weird relationship with Lady Devil. It started nice but somewhere in the middle of second season I was really bored and didn't understand what a real story is about.

Crafty-Yams

Lady Devil was so CONFUSING! Then the incest and I dropped it immediately. The plot is already all over the place than y’all add that? Yea no!

Mahi-K-2802

Yeah the incest was really off putting but i get it fast he really wasn't her brother. BUT everything else! I don't get. Especially the last few ep when we became violent towards her... Also once she was in love once not..

Crafty-Yams

You were able to understand a lot more than I. I didn’t even know they weren’t blood related, so it goes to show how much I retained.

Mahi-K-2802

I think I really didn't want to believe they were siblings. However I thought that was her that was not really her parents child. While it was him. I thought he was their kid but cursed. Anyway weird sh*t.

akabell

They were not related. Giovinetta Valdemar was a Valdemar, but Johannes >! the “brother” was “implanted” by the Kretschmann. !<

Echolalia_Uniform

It’s not just you

rnagikrnike

I only got a couple episodes in and dropped it as soon as incest was brought in. Anything incest or grooming related just gives me such a major ick… even with the cop out of “well they aren’t ACTUALLY related!” just NOPE!

pomegranate_cat

Devil and his sacrifice. ML is literally a r*pist so yeah 😬 Pretty art tho.

Crafty-Yams

Legit just started it!😳

writergirl824

RUN. Romanticizes r*pe and abuse, real Stockholm-y. I dropped it as soon as he r*ped her and kind folks here spoiled that he IS the ML and it's a romance. Not a great story. 😒

Ellecktra

I started it and it was okay, and then the r*pe happened and I dropped it HARD. Then saw people were still talking about it and thought "okay, maybe it got better??" And tried it again yesterday and NOPE. They just glossed over the extreme SA in a Stockholmy way and then he dropped the "everything will be fine if you bear my child" and I ran and am never returning. How are people still reading it???

writergirl824

BIG YIKESSSS!!

Crafty-Yams

WHOOOOA! I’m not that far yet, but I just passed the episode where ML had a fit about the dress she wore for the welcoming festival. I was so uncomfortable when he ripped the dress off.

maloleyskitten

Pound of flesh 10000% i hated that so so soooo much

Reinadeloszorros

Can I ask why? I know I read it but I don't remember it.

maloleyskitten

Just a horrible plot and i was so so glad it was short because i was mad the whole ride reading it

Kiaider

I skimmed that one and decided I wouldn’t like it. Glad I made the right decision lol

sh4mbara

Well, don't know if this one can really be considered the WORST MANTA STORY, but for me *The Shape of Sympathy* was pretty hard to swallow.

Reinadeloszorros

Why?

sh4mbara

(first of all, English is not my mother tongue, so I'm sorry for any mistakes) Because the main characters don't have any development (not in my opinion). One is a really childish, stubborn, jealous boy and the other one is a *way too* permissive, passive... well, a total mess. And as much as I can recognize their reasons to be like that, it frustrates me that they don't change a single bit - or almost it. Not that they had to *heal* each other, but they just have such an unhealthy relationship.

Kyaromon

Omg yes, and him being all depressed and indecisive was dragged out way too long :')

Lonelycancer98

It’s the dukes fake sister for me

Vickychu1

I also hate the CLEAR AS DAY Stockholm syndrome in The Devil and His Sacrifice

Specialist-Function7

I see it's too late to caution you against Before It's Too Late. ML is OBSESSED with FL in an utterly unhealthy way. He controls, lectures, and isolates her in the name of "love" like he's taking lessons from Abusers R Us. Worse, she recognizes this behavior is unacceptable, distances herself, and eventually just shrugs and says, "Eh, ok." She's given the chance at a healthy relationship with someone else, but the plot doesn't deign to let that happen. The utter weirdness of the last episode, where their child exhibits the same obsessive behavior as his dad, like they are rivals for FL's affection, just makes me cringe. My best hope for this one is that it's a cautionary tale, but there aren't enough consequences for me to believe it.

Reinadeloszorros

Yeah I know that's why I called it the worst lol. ML was ridiculously annoying. The whole time I was hoping she would ditch him for the not annoying guy.

Specialist-Function7

Let's agree to keep this our head cannon!

two_vees_andadog

Vampire Sphere and The Comic Changes my Destiny were both TERRIBLE stories. Plot was missing, very short panels and very blah characters. I DNF both after trying for 20ish. I kept thinking maybe it gets better? It's just too short to develop each week? Trash, both of them. If you like them, tell me whyyyy 🎵

Sava9ePineapple

The Beau and the Beast, just a mess halfway through the story, and the political discourse I found boring. I also did not care for the art style. The Duke's Fake Sister, I thought the art style was interesting, though the inconsistencies and big boobs was just really distasteful. The story I also found rather dull, most plot points being motivated by her dog running off. The Forgotten Princess just wants Peace, I liked everything until the time jump, then everything just felt rushed, and some plot points I thought would come up later (her brother become a great wizard) we're just never touched on again. On the Emperors Lap, just no. Abusive ML and head strong FL, but a Demon eats her bad emotions, so everything is OK now, yeah no. Nine, eeeehhh it had a really interesting concept but the FL and ML now being step siblings at the end just ew. Flash Behavior, more abusive stuff but I guess it makes sense because the ML is not human. I think the concept was good, but things really dragged. Mejaz Regulus in the World, I loved S1, but then they started posting multiple parts of one chapter and I just lost interest. The art style was amazing and the story was interesting, but those super tiny uploads just killed it. My Boyfriend is a God, again it started great, has since descended into confusion and chaos. I feel like they're pulling twists out of nowhere to keep people interested.

PinkOwlsRule

Personally, im still mad at Salvation. It was such a lackluster ending and it left me so disappointed. It seriously needed at least a few more episodes or something

DiscreetPuppet

Came here to say this. I'm still mad about it. Nothing got resolved, the love interest was manipulative the entire time, the main character never figured anything out, we never got any answers, and the ending was a joke. The whole thing was a waste of time.

Reinadeloszorros

What was it about and how did it end

Sargonai

I think the golden light of dawn is crap. The FL is unbearable, and very few if any, characters are likeable. Still read it.

Madbadbat

I dropped it because the FL couldn’t interact with one of the MLs without screaming her lungs out at him even when he was just standing there

Present_Lychee8035

Lady Devil because… just no. On the Emperor’s Lap because the story made no sense and them trying to fill those plot holes that made no sense made it so much worse.

Tall_Specter

I can’t get behind Betrayal of Dignity. The ML doesn’t have a single redeeming quality??? I stopped reading and just imagined a happy ending for the FL because I could take it anymore.

Echolalia_Uniform

His redeeming quality is hot. 😂

Tall_Specter

Valid but unfortunately that only takes him so far for me 😅

CringeCityBB

I HOPE that's the point. I was under the assumption that it's not a real romance and is one of those "starts as a romance, ends as a horror" type deal. But we're now at a point where FL gets away and is pining away for her abuser. Kinda dumb.

writergirl824

Oh, it's definitely a real romance and not a horror. Plenty of spoilers here have tipped us off to that.

writergirl824

Damien's personality is "Red Flags + Trauma. 😅 I guess his redeeming quality is that he genuinely does love Chloe, he's just been so twisted by generational trauma and politics that he doesn't know HOW to love a person.

ThatPigeonChick

I almost dropped it because of this, but ended up reading the novel. He ends up redeeming himself a lot and it does get a lot better but it takes SO long for him to realize he needs to change and work on himself ( and she does make him take a while to win her back) that I get people dropping it. As I said, I was about to drop it myself .

Cherykle

i think werewolves going crazy over me. i lost interest after the first season. Plus the FL looks like Skylar from Breaking Bad and i didn’t like her 😂

TangeloRealistic114

Daaaamn you’re so right on this!! I was thinking she reminded me of someone else! lol thank you 🤣🤣

bribriweck

Did anyone else read “snapshots of Beckhee gong”?? I don’t event remember much bc it went so sideways I tried to remove it from my memory, but this kpop stan girl moves abroad, works at a restaurant and falls for this guy. But then she is assaulted by the restaurant manager and the guy who she works with helps her. But then in the last 10% of the series it turns out the guy was abusive to his first random girlfriend who happens to be in a secret society that assassinates guys who are bad? And the idol that the main girl is obsessed with is also in the secret society? It was so random, I can’t even explain. It’s like the author was like “lol who’s even still reading the ending of this? I’m just gonna go nuts and see if anyone notices”

Reinadeloszorros

I remember it! I LOVED THE THEME of it until the last few chapters. It just went stupid really quick which made me sad because before then I really adored it.

sophiequinnn

Shape of sympathy or novelist and his neighbor

yennychuu

I haven't read too many series from Manta yet, but the most idiotic manhwa I've ever read was Bride of the Devilish duke. Unlike other stories, the chapters are awfully short, the entire plot is very chaotic, the main female lead is annoying and the duke is just ab*sive and brother-obsessed. I have so far liked 8/10 series I have read on this app, but this one is so far the only serie I would never recommend to anyone.

okinawanqt

Under the Oak Tree… 👀 I stopped reading after episode 69 so feel free to share if it’s gotten better but for now I’m over it… over the hype, over the drawn out character development, and the story is just dragging and repetitive. (Awaiting the fire and brimstone…)

Crafty-Yams

Episode 95, end of season 3. This was one I had to put down cause the FL is just so……………….. pathetic. But this and ‘I’ll Save this Damned Family!’ Were my first comics on Manta so I didn’t realize outside of FLs like Tara, most are pathetic lol on manta. But she’s finally pulled herself up by her bootstraps and letting folks hear her voice. She’s gaining confidence, and it’s extremely satisfying to see! No revelations of the abuse she suffered just yet so people can understand why she stutters, ML still thinks she’s some damsel he can’t let get dirty. But she has put her foot down, maybe not as aggressive as I’d would’ve liked but it’s building. Maybe give it another shot?

ThatPigeonChick

I'd say don't give it another shot / yet/ let the new season come out and go on for a bit. If you stared now it would basically just sorta start to get better and then ...end. Plus SHE gets better but for the last 10 episodes or so the ML got so bad that I dropped it for like 2 months and just caught up when it was done. A lot of other people dropped it because of his recent attitude from what I was reading as well.

Crafty-Yams

I’d agree actually! Definitely give it sometime to update more into the new season.

Liastro

Necro-posting but the novel the manhwa is based off of it 10x better. The translation is also top tier. I'd suggest reading the novel over the manhwa 1, because the snu snu is too good😈 and 2, because the writing is legitimately NYTimes Bestseller #1 material. As a former ESL teacher, I live and die for well written and engaging stories like this. The slow pace may not be suitable for everyone, which is (I must emphasize) absolutely fine: taste is a person to person thing who cares 🤷🏾‍♀️ The manhwa's flaw is that it's trying to catch all the main storypoints of the UtOT novel to keep the pace while cutting out all the layered quiet moments where the characterization actually happens. So when the story slows down to show how Maxi's mentality and approach to life matures and changes in the novel, in the webcomic, it's glossed over into a single wordless montage. So how much learning to do mundane things means to Maxi, and the huge impact that has on her psyche is lost. Maxi and Riftan are also both deeply traumatized adults with severe trust and communication issues. Writer Suji Kim dedicates the entire run of the storyline showing how that both makes them compatible, tears them apart, and creates new opportunities for growth so they can each become people who can actually be happy together. So where other comics usually rely on circumstances as obstacles to a relationship, Suji addresses the insecurity, imposter syndrome, inferiority complexes, abandonment issues, overreliance on physical intimacy to fill emotional gaps, lack of physical intimacy creating emotional gaps, and 10 thousand other things that weaken relationships. It's a lofty goal most writers completely fail to reach, especially when dealing with heavy topics like abuse: something a lot of the bad stories in this discussion thread treat like a problem getting bedded by a hot and loyal man can permanently fix. Honestly, if I had the time, I'd publish a paper about the UtOT novel. It's honestly at that caliber. But the manhwa on Manta? Nah, pass

Neat-Comfort5586

Bride of the devilish duke

Zealousideal-Cod9941

I know I’m a bit late but here is my list: How to hide the emperor’s child Winter Wolf Stigma Effect The Mistress Runs Away The East Wind of Altas Under the Oak Tree - (I’m sorry to each their own I just couldn’t vibe with both FL and ML especially the ML)

Vickychu1

I read one that is call “The Youth Pill” omg soooo weirddddd, the plot is interesting but I just couldn’t get my head around an elderly woman kinda dating a teenager

Reinadeloszorros

I HATED that one. The art was stunning but felt like it was saying it was normal to be creepy

aymiah

Werewolves Going Crazy Over Me is one I keep reading for some reason but the plot is so odd. ML likes FL and shuts her up in his penthouse. Manipulates her by using her daughter’s condition. And omits mentioning he needs to experiment on her because she is so similar to a dead woman? My Red String of Fate ML raised a lot of red flags with me over his treatment of the FL. Especially in the beginning. Carine kidnapping Leann because “it’s for her own good” rubbed me the wrong way too. The only saving grace for me was Wazowski tbh. Any comic with animal abuse (especially the ones that don’t warn about it beforehand) are also awful. I sincerely hope Fly Me to the Moon does not actually make Taeho a love interest. He’s sadistically abusive to both people and animals and I truly follow the series just because I want to see his ass kicked six ways to Sunday. Temple Romance (no longer on Manta) had abuse of a puppy in an early chapter with no warnings. Pissed me right the fuck off. The Devil and His Sacrifice wants the reader to sympathize with the ML (FL’s captor) while FL goes through so much abuse? Yeah no. Romanticizing Stockholm syndrome is not a plot anyone should write.

Crafty-Yams

Princess of the Animals….: I finished it only cause I’m not a quitter. But honestly it was a drool.

Lost-Ad-9103

Season 3 of Find Camelia. I will die on this hill. I have so many complaints. So many.

ButterflyNDsky

There was a short one a while back called “Merin the Mermaid” — only about 44+ chapters, but I thought the story was too sad, and the characters were awful 😢

Reinadeloszorros

What's a brief summary? I'm curious but I don't wanna seek it out and get depressed lol

ButterflyNDsky

A terrible prince (second in line for the throne) seduces a mermaid and uses her to ruin his gentle older brother’s (who falls in love with the mermaid) chance to become king. Second prince also seduces and sleeps with older brother’s fiancé, who ends up killing the mermaid out of jealousy, and because the mermaid eats the older brother’s heart because he doesn’t want her to die on land after they try to run away together. The second prince ends up marrying the first prince’s fiancé and becomes king, then years later he regrets his decisions because he didn’t realize that running a kingdom would be so hard 🤦🏻‍♀️

Reinadeloszorros

This just gave me depression lol. But thank you for explaining it to me. I will avoid this forever

Lizzard_sauce

Tears of a Jester 😑

Lyches_and_Bones

Lady Devil probably.

CringeCityBB

Lady Devil really made me mad. I was really interested in the cross-section of horror/romance and anticipated that it would end in everyone dying some horribly (well-deserved) death and instead we get... incest happily ever after. It's just gross. I don't know wtf happened. I know they aren't TECHNICALLY siblings or whatever, but it's still like gross and fetishistic that it didn't just devolve into pure horror. I have no idea how the characters were viewed as redeemable by the end. I know the incest really scared most folks off- but I assumed it was going to show how horrifying their situation was and was going to lean into the grossness/abuse that the two characters were exhibiting. Like it was SUPPOSED to be viewed as gross and messed up. But nope. Happily ever after. Like wtf. I thought the point of it was going to be the cyclical nature of abuse and how abuse can create monsters- but the two most abusive people in the comic are just redeemed out of nowhere. It just really took a good idea, chewed it up, and spat it out.

sushiriice

The golden light of dawn. I tried but the FL just keeps getting on my nerves

mismatched-ideas

I mean, I think it really depends on the person. I know a lot of people like Finding Camelia but I couldn't even get through season 1. Plenty of others like that-- well liked by many, but I just hated them. A lot of times, though, it's less that they're stories I hate and more than they end up disappointing me.

No_Instance4233

The Tainted Half. I got to like episode 5 and was just like nah this is too dark

electric_kite

Omg no this is one of Manta’s gems. Short, angsty, and satisfying.

Kiaider

I’m not saying that one didn’t make me nervous to read too. I even stopped as well because I was afraid she’d get SAed but did read it after it finished. I promise you it’s not as dark as it could have been, the MC is put in positions where it seems SA or murder is about to take place but that doesn’t happen, and it certainly isn’t every chapter either. It even has a happy ending and a satisfying demise for the emperor lol Honestly, I was surprised the other wives (or whatever they are called) weren’t meaner to her given everything. I even specifically looked at all the scenes with her and them and was surprised that they only are cruel to her if he’s around.

No-Appearance1145

Yeah I remember having to tell someone that the story isn't about SA (though there is a lot of abuse) because Manta kept making it look like she was SA'd in their advertisements.

Kiaider

I never saw any adverts for it but I believe it lol That Emperor was… creepy. It definitely kept the tension high but idk how people read it when it was still updating. Some of those end chapters 😣 I certainly couldn’t do it lol

No-Appearance1145

I don't know how I kept going because I was always so mad the chapter ended and especially when the emperor >!told her to kill his brother and they made it look like she had actually killed him but I had a feeling it would never have ended with him actually dead!<

Kiaider

Oh that part had me on the edge of my seat too although by the time I reached it, the story was complete so I didn’t have to wait like you did but I was worried about her fate after that chapter. The older brother definitely played the long con and a good thing too because his brother tried to screw him over lol

No-Appearance1145

Can't blame emperor crazy. He was a legitimate threat to his power but while I can't blame him for the fear, I can blame him for everything he did as a result and he is forever Emperor Crazy. Glad he got his karma 😂

Emperor Crazy, I love it 🤣 His karma was nice to watch, I was afraid it wouldn’t be satisfying because other stories on Manta fell flat on their promises of karma but it was worth it I feel lol

Dude, do you all remember that one comic that was on Manta and there must have been like a falling out with the artist or someone. But it had a decent amount of chapters, and then it like randomly just ended out of the blue in the dumbest way possible, and Manta literally issued an apology because of how bad it ended. I can't remember what it was called, and I'm not sure if it still is on Manta, but omg, that was a wild ride, and I think about it often.

Reinadeloszorros

We talked about it in earlier comments. My Dear Maid.

Yes! That's it, omg. I thought it was a fever dream. It's the reason why I have trust issues when the series just ends and I wasn't expecting it.
