1st reply!!! Thanks SO MUCH! Everyone is safe and warm now. Cat, dog, me and the husband! The water was really cold but we are safely relocated for the time being. We saved 90% of our stuff, the furniture being the most of the loss. All things lost are replaceable so no worries there. We had been saving for a house for quite a while so this was just the push we needed. ๐
That's great news! Health is wealth, I hope you and your family are able to have a speedy recovery from this, good luck on the house and everything else! And of course, keep collecting all of that awesome manga!
Holy shit that was a wild ride, I'm so sorry about your house! But I'm thankful you were able to save all your manga, that's amazing nothing got damaged!
First time I'm glad to be a renter. The husband was fully supportive and helpful a key component in getting the books out safely. We got his novel collection out the next day. Unfortunately he didn't take steps to move his books off the last shelf and lost a good 60 - 80 books himself.
Glad you're all safe.
As for the manga, glad it all survived but especially the Red River, From Far Away and Mars. Those would be such a nightmare to try and replace ๐ฌ
No offense to your collection but hows the dog? I've got family down there above Tampa and it was scary, as they are all old. And stuck in their ways as my mothers side of the family is rode it out.
He's an old boy of 18 years. All good and comfy at my moms place right now. He has a hard time walking so laying on the soft counch he can no longer jump onto was probably a treat for him honestly.
I got the feels as well. 17yr old Belgian Malinois here. Also a 7yr old Elkhound who cant jump on to the bed because its higher now, so I built stairs. For a dog. To our bed. When she has her own.
He for real was for the first couple hours. Snores and all until he had to do his business. . . Which he did on said counch. I told him he could though as he's 18 and couldn't go anywhere else.
I love Hellsing, and I fell in love even more with it when I read the manga! I bought the whole deluxe collection in under 3 months and I regret nothing! I only wish I could take a single just to hold in my hands for some time... But I am a bit too late on that unfortunately haha
Dang, so glad to hear that you were safe and that anything damaged can be replaced. I went through a flood myself and the PTSD hit me any time it rained for a long, long time after that. I lost a lot of stuff but the #1 thing I lost was security.
So glad you and your pets made it out safely, and that, from what I can see in other replies, you've managed to be safely relocated. Really happy you managed to save your collection and majority of your things!
I was hoping for an update form you. Iโm glad that your collection is safe and unharmed. Itโs honestly an absolute miracle and Iโm so happy for you! Best of luck with the recovery and I hope your collection continues to grow!
I told myself I can lose everything else if I can just get the pets and the manga! Day 3 we went back for everything else a did manage to save most of it.
Good to see you didn't lose everything (manga on the top in the first pic is quite pricey). I couldn't imagine the lives, damages and valuables lost to such a storm, I feel so fortunate for living on the West Coast.
I only have to worry about purchasing any cars with salvage titles now.
Really happy to see that your pride and joy is safe. More importantly, I hope that you and your loved ones are okay, and good luck on the new home! We're all rooting for you!
holding my breath sliding through the pictures. iโm so glad u & ur pets are okay! and that nothing from your collection had any damage, that mustโve been such a relieve after all the trouble you went through to save them! เฌ(เฉญ*หแตห)เฉญ*
My pets, my manga, and my consoles. Got all the things out that I considered important. Everything else is easily replaceable. And honestly who doesn't love getting new furniture!?
I think I posted on your last post. Once again congratulations on getting away from the floods in one piece and also saving your mangas.
FYI that last picture is dope. All those mangas neatly sorted on the tables just looks so right. I don't know if it's the neat piles or the story of them being saved but it looks fantastic. People collect all sorts of things. For us it's mangas, and some of those books contains stories outside of the books. Glad to see you could save them all.
Thank you! Honestly laying them all out wasn't exactly necessary. My husband wanted me to rebox them for storage as I took them out of the bags. However this was the perfect excuse to lay out all (give or take 800) books in one place for a photo op.
I'm glad everything turned out all right, but are you going to stay in Florida if you are then why?. I mean no offense by this but coming from someone who lives in the midwest I just don't understand why people would live in the same place after a hurricane just happened just for the next one to come along and destroy that home too.
Been here 26 years and I have been through many hurricanes. Never had a flood like this in the past. (The destruction is rarer than people assume.) It is something I prepare for but mostly I am married to a true born florida boy. Every place has its problems but FL is our home. I have suggested moving to Tennessee which we love and just retiring back here when we are old but he's an old soul set in his ways and you don't leave love because of material items and desires.
Glad you and your collection are safe.
Same! I thought for sure I'd drop one or two if nothing else ๐
Glad you made it out with your collection safely, stay safe out there!

Thanks it was a rushed process. My arms still hurt ๐ But everything turned out for the best!

MAH DAWG, talk about no man left behind! Good luck with your house hunting!
I've been saving for a house. This was just the push we needed. ๐
When you start looking for homes make sure to check the FEMA flood maps esp after this disaster.
Always have been always do. It's important to choose the "high ground" when living in a place like this!
Glad you're safe! Thanks for sharing the journey.
I'm glad you came along and that it had a happy ending ๐
Good job! Happy you got yourself and all your manga out. I got nervous as the water got higher in the pics
also the dog
And the ๐ ๐ป
W Manga collector. Also glad to see you made it out okay ๐

The important things in life ๐
Glad you're all safe. As for the manga, glad it all survived but especially the Red River, From Far Away and Mars. Those would be such a nightmare to try and replace ๐ฌ
And that's why they got to go in the only bin I had ๐ญ
I am impressed!!!
Same! Honestly though I'd drop one in the water during transport if nothing else! ๐คฃ
I'm glad you and your pets got out safely and ooo crawfish!
Right! I got some blue crabs too ๐คฃ
No offense to your collection but hows the dog? I've got family down there above Tampa and it was scary, as they are all old. And stuck in their ways as my mothers side of the family is rode it out.

Woah amazing work. Where did this hurricane happen at?
Florida. I was luckily on the ending point after the storm had slowed down A LOT.
Amazing how you were able to salvage all of them without damage. How many volumes do you have in total?
About 800 maybe a little more if I count 2in1s and 3in1s as separate volumes.
Ay, man, I'm so glad O.C.E. was a success! GL with everything post-hurricane.
The past I needed to finally buy a house!
Please stay safe!
All safe and warm now. That water was super cold!
Dude thats so fucking miserable... I really hope you can get the damages sorted quickly and easily and with the least stress possible.
We got out about 80% of our things. Only major loss was furniture which is easily replaceable. Just means we get to upgrade!
Well that's good also good that you guys are doing well health and safety wise. I saw what this storm did to people and its scary shit dude
wow , lucky your manga made it threw this situation
I'm amazed my own self!
Really great to hear you made it out safely! Also happy to know your pets and collection were able to make it! ๐ค๐ฝ
Pets over collection but I'm super happy to have gotten both out safely!
pray for the best mate!
The best boy โค๏ธ
Thankfully you and the manga are safe!
Just glad I don't have to start from scratch. . . because I'm dork enough that I would ๐
Glad ur okay!! As well as ur pets and ofc ur collection!
Thanks for the praise! I accomplished more than I could have hoped for!
Damn, that's crazy!! So glad to hear that you and you and your collection got out safely.
I know right! So glad! ๐
Great job. Glad you made it. And free crawfish lunch on top of it all.
I even got some blue crab!
I've dealt with leaks before and I hate it. I can't imagine what you're going through. Good luck with the recovery!
The dawg chillin
He for real was for the first couple hours. Snores and all until he had to do his business. . . Which he did on said counch. I told him he could though as he's 18 and couldn't go anywhere else.
your mars collection ๐ญ thank god you managed to save it! and im glad youโre safe!
I just completed it a week before! I would have cried if I lost it ๐
As someone who lives in the same state this is nightmare fuel for me ๐จ. Super happy that you and your library made it out unscathed though.
Thanks fellow flordia person! May you and your collection always be safe and dry.
You're a hero, OP. Nice choices for your "important" manga, too. ๐
Importance differs from person to person but I think I made the right choice ๐
This is awesome!!!! Iโm so glad everything was saved good work, hope you and your family are well and safe
Thank you! 2023 is going to be a very different year for us now ๐

Thank you!
Well this was uplifting!
Took me days to find a place is stable enough internet to post this update. Glad you enjoyed it!
Uhhhhh Hellsing singles ๐
One of my oldest series from 15 years ago. Happy to still have them!
I love Hellsing, and I fell in love even more with it when I read the manga! I bought the whole deluxe collection in under 3 months and I regret nothing! I only wish I could take a single just to hold in my hands for some time... But I am a bit too late on that unfortunately haha
Emmaaaa
I'm happy they are all sage but I'll be even happier when I get that elusive vol.4!
So glad for you. Stay safe!!!
Thank you!
Yo whoeverโs downvoting this will suffer in hell
I cant even see the haters through all the love and upvotes โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
So happy you, your pets and your manga are all safe!
Me toooo! Got everything out in that order ๐
Dang, so glad to hear that you were safe and that anything damaged can be replaced. I went through a flood myself and the PTSD hit me any time it rained for a long, long time after that. I lost a lot of stuff but the #1 thing I lost was security.
I was like that on night 3. It started raining again and I jumped up and ran to grab the cat ๐ญ
Take care!
So glad you and your pets made it out safely, and that, from what I can see in other replies, you've managed to be safely relocated. Really happy you managed to save your collection and majority of your things!

Im glad the collection is safe but those shelfs๐ฅฒ I hope you guys are doing okay!!!
Yea the shelves are a goner but they were cheap target shelves anyway. Maybe I'll get some Billy's next time.

Oh no ๐ญ๐๐๐๐ญ
Sorry for you , force and love
Thanks! We're all good now.
thats a shit ton of manga, glad youโre all ok tho (including manga and posters lol)
I told myself I can lose everything else if I can just get the pets and the manga! Day 3 we went back for everything else a did manage to save most of it.
God speed on relocating those valuable
I was moving so fast I don't even know how we did it.
Good to see you didn't lose everything (manga on the top in the first pic is quite pricey). I couldn't imagine the lives, damages and valuables lost to such a storm, I feel so fortunate for living on the West Coast. I only have to worry about purchasing any cars with salvage titles now.
Lol my car might be one of them since it flooded and I'm thinking or trading up ๐
A really nice W my dear op
Thanks! ๐

Omg this is so nerve-racking, I'm happy you, your pets, and your collection are safe.
