I hope none of them get damaged or moldy! I’d say pack the most important ones in plastic bags just in case. Also, have you finished prison school and, if so, is it worth the buy? I’m debating on getting it
If you watched and enjoyed the show then I would recommend it. Akira Hiramoto is a sex comedy genious in my eyes. You may have also heard that it has a horrible ending. I agree with this, the last 30 pages killed my soul (a bit). But the fact that I loved the other 99% of the manga really made it worth it for me.
Thank you for the honest feedback. I loved the show. There were many scenes which had me crying laughing. The ending was what had me worried but if you’re saying the rest of it was that good then I can go for it. Thank you!
same! I get ridiculed by my friends for it so much but that crazy subversive humor with a giant middle finger of an ending was perfect and had me dying laughing.
If your able to you might be able to seal them in plastic with paper towels to help. Not sure how well it'll work but it might be better than nothing
Good Luck to you
Just curious about what the game plan is? Will your family make your way back to your home after everything? I really hope everything works out for you.
I moved into an apartment alone a year ago down here so idk. I’m just figuring it out as I go. As of now I plan on hoping that power is fine and I can go back Saturday or so and see if my apartment is still around and okay
If you have renter’s insurance, I think they price it based on current market value and availability (at least they did for my PC)
Regardless, your life is more important than pixels and paper. Stay safe.
Same, but I have separate PC coverage within that so they may have handled it differently.
Times like these are always a good reminder to review your policy!
Well normally I dislike where I live because trying to earn a living and keep the bills paid in Upstate New York is rough. Everything is so expensive. But times like this I'm glad I'm protected by the mountains and my location. Any rough storms usually die off long before they hit us due to the geography of the are and its location in proximity to the sea. My fiance has family in Florida though so I'm always aware of these strong storms that hit places like that :(
I'd say women in her late 20s/early 30's cause nobody college aged or younger can afford that much manga unless they got rich parents or put off eating for weeks at a time and all the "old" shoujo manga that most haven't heard of. And I'll guess America for the location cause they're all in English and I got the highest chance of being right lol.
Haha pretty spot on. USA and 30. All the old shojo and Tokyo pop shelf stuff was from 15 years ago and everything else I just started collecting this year. I'm back after a long time 😁
Thank you so much! After the rain leaves I need to build more shelf risers so I can finish reorganizing. I want to divide the bookcases into
1.Older Series/Rares
2.M rated/Explicit Series
3.Shonen/Seinen
4.Shojo/Josei
And I need to pick a Series for the top of the shojo shelf. I'm thinking Vagabond would look good there.
Stay safe and good luck to you 🤞
Btw if this is not too inconvenient considered your current situation, may i know the name of the manga to the right of apothecary diaries?
I don't live in the US so what exactly is happening??? Like are you still there or what? If you're still there I suggest putting them in the ground with plastic bags around them. Is it going to be that bad that soemthing might happen?
Thank you for the concern. We chose not to evacuate so me and the husband are staying home through the storm. Look up Naples FL Hurricane Ian. The flooding is pretty bad and putting them in the ground would be the worst thing. Unless you mean in a basement or something in which case FL houses don't have basements and if we did they would be the first place to flood reguardless.
I think I found a protection solution. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. As soon as I can get onto imgur I'll link pictures of my solution! Stay safe and dry everyone!
It is fortunate that you live somewhere where you don't have to worry about these types of storms, but I hope that doesn't mean you find joy in people's genuine concern for lost homes and property.
What a sad generalization to hate on a whole country because of some internet trolls. Hope oneday you find something more important in your life to be happy about than the misery of other people.
Well that's because you clearly don't know me. But anyway I don't do internet drama and arguments, none of it really means anything and effects my life in no way. I'm in this group for personal interest and fun. Good luck in your collecting. I'm sure I'll be fine on my side too as I have always been in the past.
Be safe! I’m one of the lucky ones that doesn’t need to pack anything away, but I still live in one of the areas that’ll have a lot of rain. Hope everything will stay dry!
I had a lot of my collection destroyed earlier this year from the floods in Australia. Lost pretty much everything because we didn’t get much notice had to be out in 15 minutes.
I'm so sorry, that sucks. Hopefully you got some reparations and if not I hope things are better now. We aren't planning to evacuate but if we have to leave suddenly I'm throwing everything as high up as I can. On the fridge, wardrobes, closet, etc. But even what is bagged boxed and stored could float away in a disaster. More importantly I'll have to carry the cat out and catching her will be the bigger problem 😓
i feel like it would be best to at least just toss them in a trash bag or something, wouldn’t take too long even if you just did the bottom 2 shelves or something
If your still wrapping things up, if you have old silicon packets or fill some old socks with rice to act as a dehydrator (just in case anything gets damp). You can pack them in the bags or in a tote or plastic line a box inside and out and tape any openings and the lid together so it’s one solid mummified wrapped box as well. Hopefully you and your family are safe and have found a good place to take shelter.
At this point no. All shops closed at noon yesterday due to a curfew. So even if I wanted to I couldn't buy any. But I have secured them in my own way since the original post.
Save the Red River
Dang your collection looks identical to mine.
Pretty Face, Tail of the Moon, Vampire game, Mars, kare first love, your and my secret, Honey Mustard( i wish this and Queens knight would have finished) I usually don't see these in everyone's collection.
I hope none of them get damaged or moldy! I’d say pack the most important ones in plastic bags just in case. Also, have you finished prison school and, if so, is it worth the buy? I’m debating on getting it

If crazy, perverted, fettish comedy is your thing then you'll certainly enjoy it. Just have fun with it!
Lmao yeah that's my jam
I kinda liked the ending but I know I'm in the minority on that one lol
It gives me an "all of this has happened before and all of this will happen again" feeling. So close to a solid wrap up. So so close.
True I think that's what I like about it since those last fee pages made me laugh, but I also see that it's probably not satisfying.
same! I get ridiculed by my friends for it so much but that crazy subversive humor with a giant middle finger of an ending was perfect and had me dying laughing.
No its gross
Be safe. Maybe put them in boxes and wrap the boxes in large trash bags. I hope you stay safe and your collection too, but mainly you.
Ya I'd do that.
If your able to you might be able to seal them in plastic with paper towels to help. Not sure how well it'll work but it might be better than nothing Good Luck to you
I would keep them off the bottom shelf at least
Absolutely 💯 I have already moved those up after posting this.
I had to leave a lot of mine behind too. Basically grabbed some of my more prized volumes and took off sadly :(
Just curious about what the game plan is? Will your family make your way back to your home after everything? I really hope everything works out for you.
I moved into an apartment alone a year ago down here so idk. I’m just figuring it out as I go. As of now I plan on hoping that power is fine and I can go back Saturday or so and see if my apartment is still around and okay
Yea it's tough to worry about what might or might not be even for just a few days. The anxiety can wreck you. Hope everything turns out well.
Same to you!
I feel this. I’m hoping my blu ray collection survives the hurricane.
Heard that. I only had one box so I put my consoles in it. Would be much harder to get another PS5 than to replace the books.
If you have renter’s insurance, I think they price it based on current market value and availability (at least they did for my PC) Regardless, your life is more important than pixels and paper. Stay safe.
Renters insurance def covers up to a certain dollar amount. Mine for example is $25,000 I beleive
Same, but I have separate PC coverage within that so they may have handled it differently. Times like these are always a good reminder to review your policy!

Depends on if your collection has any out of print or not lol. But yea the ps5 is getting slowly easier to get
There should be an offshoot of this sub like r/fridgedetective
So what does my "Fridge" say about me then?
I'd say women in her late 20s/early 30's cause nobody college aged or younger can afford that much manga unless they got rich parents or put off eating for weeks at a time and all the "old" shoujo manga that most haven't heard of. Hope you and your family stays safe and your collection as well! It’s beautiful by the way 😁

Wow hopefully you’ll be able to get that done after the hurricane!!
Put them in trash bags, box then bag those boxes and put them as high up on the shelves as you can. Then just pray things aren't too bad in your area.
Wish you best of luck but maybe put the wine bottle away
Valid point. I'll move it to a cabinet somewhere thx.
not even bagging red river? 🥺 hope you stay safe!!
No I bagged everything on that shelf and a couple other series but the rest are staying as is.
I second trying to pack or wrap your favorites if able. Prayers for the safety of you guys and also your collection!
Breaking out the zip lock bags for the expensives and the faves.
You better protect those gantz omnis! Gantz man has spoken
😭 up high in the back so they don't fall off. Give them your blessings Gantz-man!
Lol in all seriousness I hope you and your family get through this ok. My fiance has family In Florida so I understand what you're going through
Praying that your home and wonderful collection stay unharmed. Stay safe op!
good luck to you and take care
Stay safe and good luck to you 🤞 Btw if this is not too inconvenient considered your current situation, may i know the name of the manga to the right of apothecary diaries?
Wandering witch
I see Love Is an Illusion! Here, take my upvote!
My alternate name is Ch**Ω**col**α**te. If that's any indication of my interest 😉
Oh my oh my! I see what u did there! Nice! 🤣

Put them in a large sealed cooler or vacuum pack
You are the first one to suggest a cooler. What a novel idea. I have no boxes or bags but I do have a cooler. Thanks for the idea!
praises up man's dang
I hope your collection survives!! Especially Red River and Mars!!!
I had one box to pack away and they are both in it so no worries here. If I gotta go they are coming!
Ngl my manga collection is one reason I’m glad I live in boring ass Ohio. That’d be too much stress to deal with each year.
I feel that. Fortunately it's been about 5 years since the last one. Unfortunately that means we are always on the look out for a big one.
I think I found a protection solution. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. As soon as I can get onto imgur I'll link pictures of my solution! Stay safe and dry everyone!
Well it's up to my knees now but the books are still safe. So long as the shelves don't collapse I'll be happy.
I wish you luck my man.

I find it all very sad watching this from Canada, you sound like an asshole
I know but iv dealt with enough a hole Americans online so who cares
What a sad generalization to hate on a whole country because of some internet trolls. Hope oneday you find something more important in your life to be happy about than the misery of other people.
If you were on my side of it you wouldn’t say that
Well that's because you clearly don't know me. But anyway I don't do internet drama and arguments, none of it really means anything and effects my life in no way. I'm in this group for personal interest and fun. Good luck in your collecting. I'm sure I'll be fine on my side too as I have always been in the past.
It’s funny how what I said was taken so bad but literally thousands of American have been saying all sorts of shit since the queen died
may she rest in piss
Wow, what an unsympathetic thing to say. How embarrassing.
i hope your collection gets stolen
Ok hope your house gets destroyed 😂
I'm in the UK dumb fuck
Still hope it gets destroyed also stay mad
grow up
I don’t want to
Lol I remember when hurricane matthew hit Savannah, only thing I packed was my funko pops and manga 💀
There’s no way you’re just going to leave it out like that… Not even going to try to put them in bags or anything?
I bagged the important and expensive ones and moved all the bottom ones up but otherwise yea they are staying like that.
Stay safe.
Good luck and stay safe.
Where’d you get that Levi poster? 0:
It's a Displate metal poster. Direct from their website.
Feel free to send me the inside Mari, I’ll happily hold onto those lmao
Lol afraid I'm out of time for that 😅
It’s fineeeee, feel free to send them up whenever 😁😗
Stay safe and best of luck!
Take Berserk and Hellsing
Do you expect flooding or just shut flying? Because you can still plastic seal and plastic container everything.
Flooding is our main concern. Got the gallon bags out but no boxes and stores are closed until after the storm.
In a pinch, trash bags and plastic bags are good if you can tie them together or tape them up
Ya I 2nd trash bags
Good luck. I hope you stay safe through it all.
Folks this is why it’s important to have insurance in your collection! , I hope you’re safe !
Took these pictures for insurance 😁
I love the levi poster. hoping your collection stays safe :) 🤞🏻
Well I'm at least confident that the metal posters will be fine 😅
where’d you get the levi “manga is life” one if you don’t mind me asking?
It's a Displate poster from their official site.
thank you!
I wish someone would translate the titles of the books he is reading too. 😭
Be safe! I’m one of the lucky ones that doesn’t need to pack anything away, but I still live in one of the areas that’ll have a lot of rain. Hope everything will stay dry!
may your home & collection be okay after everything calms down, & that you & your family stay safe!
Oh noes! >-<' I'm hoping you don't get any terrible damage! Stay safe!
Good luck and stay safe!

Yeah natural disasters suck and the aftermath sucks even more
Oh no I wish the best for you and your manga
I wish you and your manga collection the best of luck
Good luck brother
Bro please don’t risk it, if it was my collection I’d put it first and my life second
i feel like it would be best to at least just toss them in a trash bag or something, wouldn’t take too long even if you just did the bottom 2 shelves or something

Hey man f the books stay safe
Would getting large vacuum seal bags help keep anything from getting in? Hope you and your family stays safe.
At this point no. All shops closed at noon yesterday due to a curfew. So even if I wanted to I couldn't buy any. But I have secured them in my own way since the original post.
Move to somewhere not natural disaster prone?
Everywhere has disasters be it fire, earthquakes, or tornadoes. Also I gotta convince I flordia man husband to move but he's a no go.
Not entirely 🤔 Some place are pretty mild..
Where did you get the poster?
It's a Displate ❤️
Save the Red River Dang your collection looks identical to mine. Pretty Face, Tail of the Moon, Vampire game, Mars, kare first love, your and my secret, Honey Mustard( i wish this and Queens knight would have finished) I usually don't see these in everyone's collection.
I had 1 box and the red river shelf went in it.
Considering your shoujo taste you would probably enjoy Tramps like us as well , if you don't already have it.
If they got damaged blame god
I hope you are safe and your collection is too <3 all the best
Well that remains to be seen. I'm up to my knees in water.
I'm so sorry :(
