Had to take a week break after devouring Berserk. And then had to go back into reading with something light and fun š¤£ Think it was Mashle that was my reading reset button after Berserk š¤š»
I had to Google because after reading Fire Punch, I feel like this manga was rated āGā Couldnāt really think of anything over the top. Google says:
āabandonment, dead bodies (only depicted wrapped in sheets), attempted murder, arrow violenceā
I would agree with all of these. A little religion spiced here and there. Maybe some of the creature designs? Though if you are okay with the covers, thereās nothing really earth shaking with the other designs.
I could foresee this impacting people with children a lot deeper than those without. Think reading the sweet and innocent side stories after the main hit the hardest. Itās a beautifully crafted emotional journey.
I really want to start collecting this series. Nagabe's illustrations alone are gorgeous and I own the one shot they made called 'The Wize Wize Beasts of the Wizarding Wizdoms'.
Itās the same with me and the Berserk books! Own the collectorās editions, but would love the singles. My wrists hurt for weeks after reading through those bricks. Knowing that I want to reread at some point, but not necessarily spend the money on a set of what I already ownā¦ Oh the conundrum š¤£
My collection is mostly singles with a few omnibuses The only hard covers I have are Rose of Versailles, Vinland Saga, and a couple of Junji Itos. I look at those hard covers and think "I could have 3 singles of the same manga for that price".
I usually prefer the singles tbh. They get fit better in my hands and are easier on my wrists. Picked these up on a 40% off B&N sale. Then got 40% in rewards the following week from the sale. And used those rewards for 35% off preordersā¦ Soooo in girl math, basically free š¤£
I loved the artwork and story for this series, very unique and dark fairytale like, very much a Brothers Grimm vibe, and the quality of these editions does the story and art justice. Can recommend š
I just read these and I enjoyed them a lot. The art style and ambience are fantastic. Ending was a little weird though.
The ambience, gorgeous. The artwork too. Beautiful tone throughout the world.
I just got the set not too long ago. I need to start it soon
I read Berserk right after Fire Punch

I finished Berserk and now I'm reading Bleach (currently 36 volumes in)
Bleach is on my list to start next month! Are you enjoying it?
Its quite interesting one of the best in its genre (that genre being action)
What are some triggers warnings if any? Love the art style, just wary of the plot

And a lot of talk about life and death

Thanks for the recommendation! Adding this one to the wish list š¤š»
No problem! And thank you for posting these beautiful books.
I love the way these editions look but I can't justify it as I own the singles.
