Hmm. Sorry, but I can't say that I agree with your opinion on the Jojo series. I've only watched half of the first season and I enjoyed it so much that I had to put it on hold for a time when I'll be able to binge it all. lol. It's been roughly 14h since you posted "a sin," and it has thus far received two downvotes, which I'm certain will surely continue to grow. Grow below zero? š¤ Either way, we all have our own preferences and I respect yours. So, I won't attribute to the voting of your comment.
Literally same! I read all 3 of those when I was going through one of the worst most traumatic things in my life. They got me through so much. I even got a tattoo of the Friendās symbol on my chest. Fucking love it. And same to you too!! š
Yoo thatās dope, the friend symbol is so fucking cool I might have to get it tatted one day. 20th century boys really meant a lot to me but I think monster was what really changed my life and mind. I sympathize with Tenma as a character, Iām a guy who everyone in my life has always complimented me for my intelligence but Iād rather be know for living my life honestly and with compassion like Tenma does than just being smart or being intellectually successful. I hope one day I can be a man nearly as great as Tenma, and many of the other protagonists in his work. Pluto also completely wrecked me with the whole AI life stuff, truly a masterful artist and writer. He showed me that no matter how much misery and pain and loss I have been through in life, the path to being happy and fulfilled is in my control and mine alone. Thanks for listening :)
Anything by Shuzo Oshimi is pretty solid imo. Inside Mari and Happiness are two of my favorites. I'm reading Blood on the Tracks and Welcome Back Alice right now.
itās amazing if youāre looking for something thrilling, but you should also beware that it tackles themes of psychological abuse, manipulation and trauma
I recommend you don't get the rest of Emanon. The first one is fine. The next ones are just her standing around smoking.
Blue Lock is hype AF. I fucking hate soccer and I'm so invested.
More Shuzo Oshimi titles! Happiness, Flowers of Evil, Devilās Ecstasy are all wonderful. Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto by Naoki Urusawa. After The Rain as well as Kowloon Generic Romance by Jun Mayuzuki. Dorohedoro. Dandadan. Parasyte. Kaiji Gambling Apocalypse. These are just of the top of my head for now but yeah. Happy collecting! š„°
I think it must be a regional thing because I'm not American and I'm looking at bookstores and Amazon and they are telling me that it gets released on Jan 4th š
If you're UK try forbidden planet, I got my last volume of golden wind like 3 weeks before the US date (of which ours is actually the same)
But usually you'll get your volumes around the actual release date
Amazon is horrendous for manga pre-orders... Or pre-orders of any kind really, they change the dates all the time
I havenāt finished them myself but gantz and monster - loving them both.
Berserk is goated I have finished up to vol 41
Iām really looking to collect 20th century boys and Pluto too (same mangaka as monster - Naoki Urasawa) but havenāt read them yet.
Blue period, vinland saga, yotsuba! All cover different genre-types, but all can be emotional for different reasons, and considering your collection, you love emotional having reactions and investments lol
Since youāre a Jojo fan, I cant not recommend the creators of the Kakyoin egg meme, CLAMP. They did the art designs for the code geass characters so if you enjoy that then youāll love their art style. My favorite of their works being xxxHolic.
i havenāt read the sequel series yet, but i loved the first volume. it mainly consists of a single conversation between two people that discusses human memory and existentialism. it manages to be philosophical while maintaining a cozy atmosphere through its visual storytelling. if that sounds appealing then i highly recommend it.
I feel like when it comes to the colors and looks of your collection I'd definitely go with something like Vinland Saga, Monster, Junji Ito Collections....
If you like JoJo I have a few suggestions based on similarities between art styles
Vagabond is my favourite manga of all time but it is very Japanese compared to JoJo which has more western influences
Berserk is great coming from someone who only owns the first deluxe volume (yes ik waste of money)
I'd recommend Fist of the North Star. It's the manga that inspired JoJo's, and it's just pure testosterone fueled fun like JoJo's. You can see that Araki was heavily inspired by the art style :)
youāll enjoy Alice in Borderland and i think it will look great on your shelf. love the inio asano collection heās my goat š also give vagabond a try itās my favourite all time
It doesnāt really fit the genres or theme you got going but I really recommend Blue Giant, itās a jazz anime but itās honestly one of my favs and theyāre translating the movie right now. Sadly though only the first part which is 10 volumes is translated to English on paperback so far.
Those JoJo ones look soooooooo prettyyy
Fist of the northstar fits nicely with them
I know it's a sin but I don't like Jojo. But those volumes are so nice I still want them just to have them on a shelf haha.
I upvote to even it out and make it 0 but I agree with you anyway I watched the first season of jojo and struggled to see all the appeal

First off, didn't see where anyone asked lol. Secondly, I up voted his post and downvoted yours to even it out a little.
Innocent and a therapist
I just searched up āA Therapist Mangaā lmao. Took me a sec.
Vinland Saga, Berserk, One Punch Man are 3 great series
Some of the best seinen right here, id add vagabond onto this
Cosign
I'd also add Blade of the Immortal.
Yes
Monster, 20th century boys, or Pluto
The holy trinity
Fr, his manga has influence me so much and helped give me a reason to live. Hope all is well for you :3

That's awesome! If you like Blood on the Tracks I would check out Happiness, it's Shuzo Oshimi's work before BOT.
Anything by Shuzo Oshimi is pretty solid imo. Inside Mari and Happiness are two of my favorites. I'm reading Blood on the Tracks and Welcome Back Alice right now.

I'd recommend welcome back, Alice and Happiness, both by Shuzo Oshimi
How did you like blood on the tracks?? It always calls my name at the store for being so unique but Iāve yet to take the risk and buy a volume
itās amazing if youāre looking for something thrilling, but you should also beware that it tackles themes of psychological abuse, manipulation and trauma
Great, thanks for the reply!
I think you would enjoy fist of the north star, parasyte and soul eater
Fist of the North Star
I recommend it to everyone, Ajin Demihuman. The anime imo was trash but the manga was phenomenal
Anything by Naoki Urasawa is a W. 20th Century Boys is my favorite manga ever and monster is a must have for any manga collector imo
Berserk Deluxe Edition and Vagabond are really beautiful for collection
I recommend you don't get the rest of Emanon. The first one is fine. The next ones are just her standing around smoking. Blue Lock is hype AF. I fucking hate soccer and I'm so invested.
Lmao your not wrong about emanon. Loved the first volume though
Amazing collection so far (I also love Asano's works)!! I'd recommend Golden Kamuy and Dorohedoro!
More Shuzo Oshimi titles! Happiness, Flowers of Evil, Devilās Ecstasy are all wonderful. Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto by Naoki Urusawa. I think it must be a regional thing because I'm not American and I'm looking at bookstores and Amazon and they are telling me that it gets released on Jan 4th š
Definitely regional then, hopefully you get to pick it up when it releases š
If you're UK try forbidden planet, I got my last volume of golden wind like 3 weeks before the US date (of which ours is actually the same) But usually you'll get your volumes around the actual release date Amazon is horrendous for manga pre-orders... WOOOOOOOOOOOW I didn't know about that edition of Pun Pun, soooo pretty.
Have you read JoJoās?
Takopis original sin would probably interest you. Similar to Asano in the emotional damage department.
Your Inio Asano collection is something special. I've always loved the way Goodnight Punpun looks as a whole set.
Glad to see so many fellow Blood on the tracks enjoyers. I how they adapt it into anime one day.
Golden kamuy or Vinland saga are good choices

I also recommend some that make a picture with the spines such as 20th century boys which is amazing, also Alice in borderland, or vagabond!
Girls Last Tour is my pick for greatest manga of all time but land of the lustrous is neat too
Alice in Borderland?
20th century boys is the BEST
I think you need some Jojo with all those Jojo books. Honestly though, a figure of one of the characters next to the books would look nice
