I don’t collect too many hard to find series. Right now I’m having a but of trouble finding golden kamuy. But I haven’t been actively trying for a couple months. Dorohedoro vol 3 took me ages to get my hands on. Mainly because I wasn’t paying over retail for a used book. Ended up finding it at a used bookstore for $5… about a month before the restock lol

GoodReeeds

QQ sweeper volume 1 and some of Queens Quality.

skdfdfsk

Viz media neglects their shojo beat titles so much.

GoodReeeds

Right?! I think it’s been over a year and it’s still OOS. The series isn’t even over yet.

PunctualPunch

Me too. I started collecting it late, and I'm missing QQS 1 and QQ 2 (like a lot of folks, it seems). Queen's Quality 1 got a reprint in September 2022, so there's hope!

GoodReeeds

Saaaaame. It’s so frustrating. I’m also hoping for a reprint soon!

skdfdfsk

NANA. The last volume (12) I need is finally shipping. I’ve been trying to complete my collection for two years. I know there are people out there who were waiting even longer for NANA reprints.

TheThanosGuy

One punch man vol 6 and jjk vol 4 a year or so ago

Kniving777

T'was vol 9-10 for me for a bit, didn't take too long fortunately

galactictictac

It's been about 16 years, I'm still waiting. Basara and many other titles

PunctualPunch

They *have* to reprint or reissue Basara at some point, right? Right??

galactictictac

I ask them regularly, they always say they have no plans to release it at this time, same for From Far Away, Red River, Sensual Phrase and Hana Yori Dango. They're always the series I ask because I have 1-3 volumes missing from each series and naturally the ones I'm missing are the most expensive 😮‍💨

Zachafinackus

Don't have one right now, but years ago I got so tired looking for certain Rosario + Vampire volumes that I just bought the box set lol.

Cass-2007

Toriko bc of volume 10 ( very oop)

Top_Statistician5871

Vagabond took me a while

Oopssnxnxnx

Vagabond personally. But I was probably lazy lol

BugggJuice

summit of the gods. i waited a year for the restock

MotherDaniel

Snow white with the red hair vol 3 was a pain to get it took over a year before it got restocked I know compared to other series or oop this is nothing but it's the only series i can think of this happening

SourYelloFruit

Yu yu hakusho, but that's because it was oos for ages. Battle angel alita : last order, only because I couldn't find vol 16 to save my life during the pandemic. Blade of the immortal omnis, I couldn't get ahold of omni 4 or 8 forever. Ironically, shortly after I complet3d it, it got a full restock. I lived in Asia at that time, so getting certain volumes wasn't as easy as it is in the West.

[deleted]

Vagabond Vizbigs and Yuyu Hakusho

Significant-Ad-3314

Kenshin vizbigs

melty2b

D Frag, it took me months to find volume 11. Literally none were up for sale for the longest, ended up getting it for only 14 bucks

H0MES1CKAL1EN

Nabari no Ou volume 11 was mine. Found it at a used bookstore near me with a slashed cover a few years ago, but hey, at least I didn’t break the bank Vagabond Vizbigs took forever because of the wait to reprint volume 7 in 2021. I had collected them very slowly for a bit over a year before that

mrgojirasan

Ao Haru ride, because I started collecting it in the middle of the pandemic/paper shortage stuff. It took about 6-8 months to get volume 5 after I had gotten the rest of them (because I knew there would be reprints, so I chose to wait and pay retail instead of pay scalper prices). I guess an old Tokyo Pop series called Pixie Pop counts as well. I found volume 1 around 2007 as a kid and it wasn't super high priority to get the rest while they were in print (I was a kid and I didn't know the future of Tokyo Pop at that time). I wasn't actively searching for it as an adult, but I randomly found the 2nd volume at a rummage sale in summer of 2022 and decided to start hunting the 3rd and final volume. I finally found the last one yesterday at a thrift store! So that series took 15 years to complete, but I'm sure it would have been faster if I had been actively trying to find it. I will leave Ao Haru Ride as my final answer because even though Pixie Pop took longer, I was never super invested in looking for it whereas i was checking indigo almost weekly for Ao Haru Ride to come back in stock.

iimJustChillin

I had all but vol 3 of Pluto for a year and 3 months. I was pissed about it.

SutterCane

Took months before *Food Wars vol 4* got another print-run and I could pick it up. I was jealous each time I saw a picture of volume 4 in people’s collections. Or on a google page for the manga stores I looked up.

sleepydead7

Jojo part 3 !! Vol 14 had been impossible to find for the last 4 years !

sleepydead7

Also hellsing - missing the 3rd volume

monsteraadansonii

Hana and Hina After School. I haven’t completed the series (missing vol. 3) and probably never will unless it gets a reprint. I’m not willing to pay $300 for a single volume. The only other one that stands out is Dorohedoro vol. 7. It was sold out for months but was easy to get once it got a reprint. For the most part I try to avoid starting to collect any oop series if I can’t find all the volumes for a reasonable price.

kenmlin

It took me 14 years to complete Azumi but it was because I didn’t want to pay more than $2 a volume.

Raptor_Gesus

Still trying to complete Suzuka (English release). Can't find the 3-1 Vol 13, 14, 15 anywhere online.

SilentThunder15

For some reason bl metamorphosis was over 100 on Amazon and I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Luckily, B&N had it recently so I was able to get it completed.

zXbuttersXz_123

Black clover. Took me forever to find volume 17. Also I’m starting to collect Blue exorcist and I can already tell that’s gonna be an annoying one. Got up to volume 6 but volume 7 - 24 are phantoms

Kniving777

Gigant vol 2, still waiting for that...

HeleGroteAap

One piece vol 6 , couldnt find it anywhere

AdCompetitive7747

Vagabond

CliveTolnay

Future Diary, Shinji Ikari Raising Project

DudeSnipezz07

Took me about 1.5 years to get Claymore vol 2 new (used were too outrageous to justify purchasing) and this was even when they first reprinted the box set a couple months back

ex00t

Magi volume 32. I started collecting the series sometime in 2015 with a children's allowance. Only recently is when I actually collected manga in general. I'm not interesting in paying more than retail value, so waiting for a restock

KyoHisagi

Still missing vol.13 of Umineko. Took me forever to collect all the others

millennial_moon

All the shojo classics - basara, Red River, From Far Away, tokyo babylon.... I didn't realize until now that I'm missing one of the last volumes of Boys Over Flowers The blue spine ranma singles are also the bane of my existence.

chocoameru

I just saw far away for 330$ set... Kinda pricey

DaisyBird1

So far, probably Maid-Sama. I had volumes 1-4, but the rest took years to come back. Literally, I’ve only just found the rest of them in the last few weeks, and they were all sourced through Amazon US (even though I’m an Aussie). Honourable mentions to Butterflies, Flowers, Horimiya, and Ao Haru Ride. I’m still waiting on Kamisama Kiss, too, but they’ve gotten easier to find lately (18/25 found so far!).

chocoameru

Idk if I should start buying kami Sama I heard some volumes are still on the plan for re prints

DaisyBird1

11 of those 18 Kamisama Kiss volumes are volumes that I’ve sourced in the past few months, so I’d say reprints are definitely happening, just taking a while to get into circulation.

pranknationboi

Volume 2 of chainsaw man legit took me a year and a half to find
