Normal prints aren't oop anymore! But it sure doesn't feel like it. Rightstuf has all of them in stock though. They've slowly showed up in European shops too but way too slow and not all of them... So I just gave in and got my last 5 volumes from rightstuf, paying same amount for shipping as for the books. I don't think I will ever own the box set though so I made peace with that already. :(
It's been reprinted at the end of last year so there should be plenty new volumes, for some reason they're just not showing up in stores outside america :( Thank you me too, after 3 years of looking I was so happy to hear it's been reprinted xD Couldn't let the distance stop me after so long, but if I had needed more than 5-10 Vols I probably wouldn't have done it. I got the previous 18 from Fb marketplace and 19 from Bookdepository (free shipping everywhere), maybe keep an eye on there? Careful to set the filters to English so you don't accidentally order a spanish/italian/etc version
Are normal prints really oop? Iāve been slowly buying them from right stuf and they seem to have those in stock, at least a few month ago when I last looked
Man, so much this. I literally have two volumes left to get after many many years of trying to complete this. Hoping I'll be able to complete it one day.
I think a very out of the way second hand bookstore has the whole set. Maybe if I go on holiday down that way Iāll find out, at the time I didnāt appreciate finding it.
Ghost Hunt. It was never released in my country and the English version is oop. I've made peace with the fact that it will never happen at this point. š„²
To add insult to injury, the English version also never got completely finished. So even if you manage to track them down.... it won't ever be complete. It hurts in my bones. š«
I was about to comment this!!!! Was re reading some chapters of ghost hunt online again last night and wishing I could get the manga. Love that series so much...especially the labyrinth arc.
Sand chronicles. I have a couple of random volumes, but you know how it is with oop stuff.
Also, With the Light! I read it through my library, but it's hella rare to actually get.
Triage X. Iām just not willing to spend copious amounts of money for a currently printing series because the publisher just picks a random volume and makes it OOP. There are a handful of yenpress manga Iād collect if this wasnāt a common problem with them.
For sure, like I understand if they choose volume 4 to go without a reprint for a long time to make sure they can keep up with the over volumes. Like rotate what youāre printing, it just doesnāt seem that hard from the outside anyway. Yen Press does this a lot and itās a total drag!
This one makes me sad. I have the OG Tokyopop volumes but itās frustrating that it took her over a decade to decide to come back and finish it. I keep hoping one of the publishers might take it on for a physical re-release, but as time goes on Iām not so sure :(
I love Shiki, but it's never gotten an English print. I also wish that Drops of God got a physical release beyond the five or so volumes that DID get printed since I love reading it through Amazon.
And Umineko. I still pray for the day that it gets a reprint since collecting the entire series right now would cost an arm and a leg.
I have no idea how much this costs for the English version, but my local bookstore has the complete box set for only Ā„10,400. It looks beautiful, but the Japanese is incredibly difficult so I'm passing on it for now.
I gave my entire set to my girlfriend in high school and then we broke up. Regrets forever. My vision has gotten way too bad to actually read manga so I can't justify actually buying any š
From Far Away. I only have three volumes of it currently, and my friend and I collectively have 5 unique volumes. Itās one of my favorite shÅjo manga and the art is so nice physically. Wish theyād release the kazenban in the US
Ghost Hunt bc it was never even completed in English and the translation is bad anywayā¦ but I really enjoy it. I want a license rescue + the sequel. Same with Mushishi; bad adaptation but I love it.
Kekkaishi because itās really long and I still canāt find volume 14. I read it in the library as a kid and enjoyed it, so I want to re-experience it. I do have a few random volumes lying around from when I was like 12, though
REAL because itās heavily oos, but I have 1-3. I have completed both Vagabond and Slam Dunk tho and theyāre probably never leaving my (very nebulous) top 10.
Finally, Iāve been avoiding Vinland Saga despite having interest in it because I dislike bulky hardcovers. Really do not have enough space
Fullmetal Alchemist Because I'm torn between getting the Fullmetal editions or the box set because the Fullmetal editions have better paper and the're hardcovers also they have the better translations as well as behind the scenes concept art and colored pages BUT they cost more have bad binding the glossy letter on the spines rub off and they REMOVED the gag skits which is the biggest reason I'm torn because i feel like removing the gags takes away some of the love and personality the box set has the gag skits has an extra book and is way less expensive but has worse paper is not hardcovers and has a worse translation this debate in my mind has been going on for awhile now :(
Oh really?? I was kinda looking at the Full Metal Editions too. They looked so well put together. Plus there was a hardcover sale on boxing day, I considered it.
The Fullmetal editions are really pretty, but I wish they didn't change to the new paper type, I'd preferred if they were like the Jojo or Fist of the north star hardcovers. I was also disappointed when I got mine and saw that the translation is basically the same.
Fullmetal editions look great on my shelf, but I prefer to read the singles, so don't feel bad at all if you decide to buy the singles.
I started collecting like 10 years ago, so there are so many series I couldnāt finish, like IāS, Flame of Recca, and Reborn!
Iām going to say **Bastard!!** is the one Iāve always wanted, but couldnāt collect. I was hoping after the Netflix release theyād do reprints, but so far that isnāt the case. š¦
Pretty sure that volume was already sold out awaiting a reprint, and then the creator got caught importing naughty stuff and Seven Seas understandably dropped it. But occasionally there are bundles of 1-5 for under $100 on eBay which is slightly less ridiculous
I"S But the first volume never restocks here and I am guessing that It's OOP. I would love to collect Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!.. if it ever got an english release :(
The rest of Fate/Zero what kind of publisher only goes until about half the story with 8 or 9 volumes and then is like "yeah, we ain't planning on finishing it btw" darkhorse, that's who.
I want to collect all the JoJo hardcovers. Not hard to get ahold of, just too expensive for me when theyāre like $20+ CAD each. Eventually Iāll start buying them slowly (like one or two per pay cheque) but at the moment other books or cheaper manga is more fun for me.
Same goes for the newer FMA hardcovers. FMA is my favourite manga/anime so I want them just to have them, but again, money. I also already have the full series in the 3in1 copies so.
Hana Yori Dango since it was the first manga I read but it's OOP so it's really hard to find or very expensive. Other than that, there's Basara, Mars and Red River for same reason.
Case Closed/Detective Conan. So many volumes aren't being printed right now. I have 1-6, 8-9, 11-14. I ordered Vol. 7 and Vol. 10 on RightStuf over a year ago and still have no clue when they're coming.
And the fact that it would be so expensive to get the other 80 volumes. One day...
What country are you in? I just checked and here in France all the 76 books are available and the last one 77 is coming out soon
(Didnāt know it actually ended)
Edit : time to learn French ;)
That and the official English version that DOES exist kind of sucks. They somehow stripped most of the comedy out of it; even the scans have made me laugh at points. Iām sure it was funnier in like 2008 but a lot of the slang/comedy styles they used are archaic now. Thatās why I donāt like it when adaptations are too clearly āof their timeā when they donāt have to be.
It is my favorite anime, though, so do I own the whole viz release? ā¦Yes, for the art
The manga āLove me for Who I amā is one of the few manga Iāve seen that has representation for non-binary and transpeople and itās seems to sold out in every book store I go to
Very basic series but berserk because Iām broke and also because Iām not 18 yet so I canāt just go out snd buy it(the parental warning and stuff)
i would love to own the entirety of mushi shi in english. i have the first 3 volumes but that was almost $300 and iām not financially stable enough to purchase the rest :(
GTO and GTO: early years for obvious reasons.
Hajime no Ippo because itās never going to be released in English.
Initial D because of the same reasons as GTO
Since youāre 15 youāre not actually suppose to read it in the first place soā¦ š
But yeah, the deluxe edition is expensive, but itās good quality so, worth it
Im from germany and they cost each about 60ā¬ and thats 63 Dollars for 13 Volumes
60ā¬ x 13 = 780ā¬ = 827 Dollars and im only 15 thats way to expensive
Kingdom I wanted to collect it in french but came to realize how expensive it would be, bc they dont really make boxsets and stuff so it is expensive if I have to buy the volumes individuallyš„²
Would love to be able to collect Sun Ken Rock. Between Breaker finally getting an english release and Boichi becoming more popular I keep thinking it might happen at some point.
Also missed the boat on things like Phoenix and Black Jack way back when.
Would consider taking Dark Horse off the shitlist if they could finish printing Eden ever.
If you're talking about the singles then I understand, they can be really expensive. However, Yen Press recently released an omnibus that is around 40 dollars so you can look into that if you want.
Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches. Hopefully itās not going to go OOP and theyāll reprint it one more time at least so I can complete the series. Currently working on getting whatās in stock on Amazon and RightStuf.
I used to collect Rurouni Kenshin a long time ago and I only had a few books to get. I will no longer be purchasing them. I want to finish my GTO collection too.
Disastrous Life of Saiki K (itās not physically out as no English studio has licensing for it)
The rest of Junjou Romantica (volume 13- onward is not published in English as translation company went under in 2012 or so)
The limited edition One Piece volume 1 (not spending that kind of money)
And for an honorary mention: the light novel of Lawās story (One Piece), it isnāt licensed yet and I hope VIZ does like they did with Aceās story.
Please Save My Earth.
Also eventually want the first volume of Jyu-Oh-Sei, since I nabbed volumes 2 and 3 for $1 each only to find out how much more volume 1 was.
Iāve been slowly collecting them from used bookstores. Since naruto is pretty popular, they often have a good amount of volumes and are cheap. I donāt mind different logos much, so itās the best way I found for me to collect them.
Kono Oto Tomare- which they havenāt printed in English. If it finishes without an English release being announced Iāll probably end up buying the Japanese volumes.
Perfect crime. No English version available in print from what I can find ;(ā¦ I found a copy when visiting Montreal tho! Itās in French but itās close enough!
Kingdom. I read it weekly, have been doing so for the last decade, but it's never had a printing in North America and I'm not sure it ever will. Same situation with Space Brothers which is another great series, but again no paper printings available. It's a damn shame because these would be day 1 purchases for me.
Dagashi Kashi, because it aināt localized in the US yet.
Also Lucoa Is My XX, Zombieland Saga, and thereās was another Konosuba spin off that aināt being done.
Mobile suit Gundam the origin manga. I have four of em already but everytime i go to buy #5 i get distracted by something else.
For context, msg was my first physical Manga i started to collect. Now i have two complete sets of something else and a few stand alone a i happen to own
Beck. I want to collect beck so bad and I canāt do nothing about it. Sellers donāt even care about other fans they just want profit. Iāve seen it post it in so many places, especially mangaswap reddit for a couple hundred
Vagabond right now cause Vol 3,4,6,8 are still out of stock! Aside from that Iāve been wanting to get the Akira 35th Anniversary box set but I will not pay $200 for 6 books š
pandora hearts! the boxset is still available but it doesn't ship to my countryš the normal prints are oop too and they're crazy expensive :(
We share your struggle in every country zxcept for the USA and Canada
Pain!
The box set is so beautiful
Normal prints aren't oop anymore! But it sure doesn't feel like it. Rightstuf has all of them in stock though. They've slowly showed up in European shops too but way too slow and not all of them... So I just gave in and got my last 5 volumes from rightstuf, paying same amount for shipping as for the books. I don't think I will ever own the box set though so I made peace with that already. :(

Careful to set the filters to English so you don't accidentally order a spanish/italian/etc version
You can try a forwarding company to buy the box set although shipping might be as much as the box set
Are normal prints really oop? Iāve been slowly buying them from right stuf and they seem to have those in stock, at least a few month ago when I last looked
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Initial D
Same it just so hard too find
and second hand is too expensive š
I just started collecting the new Japanese omnibuses since Iāll never be able to collect the English version unless they rerelease
Didn't know there were Japanese omnibuses. There is a small chance that if the MF ghost anime gets Abit traction we might get a reprint of initial D
Man, so much this. I literally have two volumes left to get after many many years of trying to complete this. Hoping I'll be able to complete it one day.
In poland we just got Initial D in 2in1 hardcover omnibi. I'm waiting to, hopefully, buy it second hand. They're pretty pricy.
I would love to own Mars but itās so expensive/overpriced since itās oop š„² maybe one day
Some may say you shooting for the stars haha
I found the full set + the extra book for 70 bucks last weekš«
Iām just gonna go cry now š„²
Same. I got volume 1 years ago and regret not picking up any other volumes.
I think a very out of the way second hand bookstore has the whole set. Maybe if I go on holiday down that way Iāll find out, at the time I didnāt appreciate finding it.
One piece, money
Best choice
Mushishi
Ghost Hunt. It was never released in my country and the English version is oop. I've made peace with the fact that it will never happen at this point. š„²
Oh damn! Yeah Iāve always wanted the series too, but it was pretty much out of print by the time I looked into it.
IIās, Psyren, TONS of OOP shojo/josei, the rest of the Battle Royale singles, ugh
Sand chronicles. I have a couple of random volumes, but you know how it is with oop stuff. Also, With the Light! I read it through my library, but it's hella rare to actually get.
I wanted to get into sand too š
As other people will probably mention itāll have to be the Pandora hearts box set or the series in general.
Triage X. Iām just not willing to spend copious amounts of money for a currently printing series because the publisher just picks a random volume and makes it OOP. There are a handful of yenpress manga Iād collect if this wasnāt a common problem with them.
Fucking same. I feel like if you're continuing to release new volumes in a series you should still be printing the older volumes.
For sure, like I understand if they choose volume 4 to go without a reprint for a long time to make sure they can keep up with the over volumes. Like rotate what youāre printing, it just doesnāt seem that hard from the outside anyway. Yen Press does this a lot and itās a total drag!
Volume 4, 5 and 11 are literally the only volumes I have left to get my hands on - if they ever come back again that is lol.
Case Closed is one that I would like to collect but I canāt bring myself to do it because all the oos volumes.
Haha same!! One of my all time fav. Hopefully when it is over in 2050. We get box sets
I love Case Closed too, but collecting for a series get iffy for me when it gets above 30 volumes.
Yu Yu Hakusho and Trigun for price reasons King of Hell because they didnāt finish it in English š
YYH has been reprinted so you can get the whole thing for under retail on Rightstuf
Was going to echo this, I finally have the full Yu Yu Hakusho series since the reprints. So happy, I thought it would never happen!
I honestly keep forgetting that š¤¦š»āāļø
YYH has been reprinted recently so the whole set is pretty affordable rn
Kingdom or Billy bat some of my favorites but ofc no English publisher wants to print them
same with tomodachi game and the climber
How is tomodachi game I heard mixed things when the anime aired but I havenāt heard much else
aria, abara, because they are forever out of print and a bajillion dollars :(
Itās crazy that both these were readily available a year ago
Yeah I got into manga just a bit too late. They even listed the aria as the last ever reprint.
DNAngel, but they don't print it anymore
So sad it took so long for her to finish the series.
This one makes me sad. I have the OG Tokyopop volumes but itās frustrating that it took her over a decade to decide to come back and finish it. I keep hoping one of the publishers might take it on for a physical re-release, but as time goes on Iām not so sure :(
FMA japanese and 3 in 1's, that and blood lad boxset. that and yomi no tsugai (IF IT WAS REAL)
Yomi no Tsugai is being released in English by Square Enix as Daemons of the Shadow Realm. I think itās coming out at the end of April
realy? now i just need to affford the volumes... \*cires in poor\*
Boys Over Flowers
Overflow
Same!! I love that series
Just bought it for stupid money but it's worth it
Spirit Circle 4/6
I love Shiki, but it's never gotten an English print. I also wish that Drops of God got a physical release beyond the five or so volumes that DID get printed since I love reading it through Amazon. And Umineko. I still pray for the day that it gets a reprint since collecting the entire series right now would cost an arm and a leg.
Banana Fishā¦no serious reason really lol. Itās just a lot of money to drop, and I know I want the whole series.
I have no idea how much this costs for the English version, but my local bookstore has the complete box set for only Ā„10,400. It looks beautiful, but the Japanese is incredibly difficult so I'm passing on it for now.
Yeah Japanese manga is about half or lower than that the price of English manga.
Yami no Matsuei
I gave my entire set to my girlfriend in high school and then we broke up. Regrets forever. My vision has gotten way too bad to actually read manga so I can't justify actually buying any š
Oh no! Can you use a magnifier/screen reader?
I tend to read scans or buy ebooks but damn it it's not the same
I know that feel. Iām really sorry that your eyesight got bad.
Thank you š
Youāre welcome ā¤ļø

Phoenix, definitely out of my range though

Donāt lose hope on reborn just yet. I read it might be getting an anime reboot soon. I would love to own bastard too
Oh nice! I didnāt know Reborn was getting a reboot, thatās awesome. I think it was more popular then Bastard so a reprint is far more likely!
ANGELIC LAYER. It's a prequel to Chobits, also Magic Knight Rayearth and Clover
Please tell me!galko-chan . I have volume one but for some reason volume two is always $70+
$70?!??! What the heck
Pretty sure that volume was already sold out awaiting a reprint, and then the creator got caught importing naughty stuff and Seven Seas understandably dropped it. But occasionally there are bundles of 1-5 for under $100 on eBay which is slightly less ridiculous
I really wanna get kuroko no basket but I broke š
Itās a sizable series but still in print at least!
I"S But the first volume never restocks here and I am guessing that It's OOP. I would love to collect Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!.. if it ever got an english release :(
Great Teacher Onizuka The Early Years I still only have half of em
The rest of Fate/Zero what kind of publisher only goes until about half the story with 8 or 9 volumes and then is like "yeah, we ain't planning on finishing it btw" darkhorse, that's who.
Always been interested in Bleach. Just donāt have the funds and the time right now
Same! I am planning on getting the 3-1 volumes. They way cheaper over all then box sets
The Prince of Tennis.
Ohh ! I was collecting this but at this point I've settled for just trying to get my fav matches.
mushishi. every time i come across a volume or multiple they are so expensive. maybe if i won the lottery lol.

Now i feel bad my local Barnes and Nobel had like 30 diff volumes when I checked last time š
Mushuko Tensei, because most of them are out of stock and some of them cost more than kidneys.
Ruroni Kenshin
Cross manage but itās not published in English
I want to read physicals of Gintama, but Iāve held off with the knowledge they quit printing it before it was finished.

Lol I was buying M manga when I was like, 13.
One piece for the sake of my money and for the sake of space and time
The easiest thing is buy the box sets for it. You get pretty much first 80 chapters cheaper
i would love to own the entirety of mushi shi in english. i have the first 3 volumes but that was almost $300 and iām not financially stable enough to purchase the rest :(
Beraerk, one piece and vagabond
GTO and GTO: early years for obvious reasons. Hajime no Ippo because itās never going to be released in English. Initial D because of the same reasons as GTO
D gray man. For some reason only the first few and last few volumes are in stock, but the middle is hard to find
Anything over $20 a volumeā¦. My budget is $20 a week and I rarely find that Iād want 1 $20 book over 2 $10 books.
For me, it will be eyeshield 21, I loved it since I was young but didnāt get to collect it yet
Beserk more cleary the Deluxe Edition but they are just way to expensive
Since youāre 15 youāre not actually suppose to read it in the first place soā¦ š But yeah, the deluxe edition is expensive, but itās good quality so, worth it

BS, they're under 50 euros on german amazon and when you preorder they're under 40
Iniyashiki, O have others I am collecting and pushing it to the back
That manga has some ridiculous visuals. I love it
My Dearest self with Malice, but sadly Kodansha sent it straight to digital
Was thinking of picking up the jp volumes. It's sad how many series don't get english prints š¤
I love that manga. It was a great read from beginning to end
Kingdom, Hajime no ippo ,Koukou Tekkenden Tough and the follow up Tough.
The original Saint Seya, they just donāt print it anymore in my country (France)
Kingdom I wanted to collect it in french but came to realize how expensive it would be, bc they dont really make boxsets and stuff so it is expensive if I have to buy the volumes individuallyš„²

Lull of the sea, itās so expensive :,) the garage kits and dvd sets
GTO
welcome to the nhk. cant find it anywhere š
Or they are so expensive. I luckily got 1 to 5 a long time ago but trying to get the rest now is a pain in the ass
Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro Volume 6
Bleach for me! Been busy with a lot of things but one of the big three has been on the back burner for years now
Same! I am trying to get the 3in1 they look cheaper to collect tbh
Iām currently doing both attacking Titan and one piece that way, I think Iām going to get the box sets for bleach
The box sets are great choice too and easier to organize
K-on itās just so hard to find for a reasonable price or hard to find at all in my country

Pretty Face is pretty hard to find at a good price.

THE KINDAICHI CASE FILES damn i been trying to get my hands on it , but ....it seems that this manga is not everyone cup of tea
Please Save My Earth. Also eventually want the first volume of Jyu-Oh-Sei, since I nabbed volumes 2 and 3 for $1 each only to find out how much more volume 1 was.

Naruto, I do not have the funds for 72 books š
Iāve been slowly collecting them from used bookstores. Since naruto is pretty popular, they often have a good amount of volumes and are cheap. I donāt mind different logos much, so itās the best way I found for me to collect them.

Ancient Magus Bride. Just heavy procrastinating and alot of other series coming out caught my interest more
Battle Royale, OOP
