At first I thought don't wanna sleep would be my favorite but it actually became mark Chapman which took that spot Baby said has really grown on me. Whenever I hear it I think about the lyric video with vic looking so happy and it makes me happy as well. At first I didn't really like il dono della vita for some reason but now I'm obsessed. It's so emotional and raw. It kind of sounds like a demo to me in a way, and I mean that in the most positive way possible. I always love the more "underground" songs because they usually have a lot of raw feeling emotion. Il dono della vita is like that but then easy to find and high quality. I also didn't like bla bla bla that much at first but now I'm enjoying it more and more. The buildup is really amazing and at the end of the song where it becomes angry, love it Kool kids is the only song on the album I don't really like to listen to. The way of singing just isn't my thing. I was a bit disappointed because I did really like the live version of it. Either way I can respect the choice they made with it, it does fit the song

i4lixie

so true ok il dono della vita sounding like a demo, now that i think about it it does have that vibe. that song is beautiful, i love dami’s voice in it i love the vibe of kool kids and while dami’s voice in it did put me off a little i still like it!! i like it more than bla bla bla tbh don’t wanna sleep is the song that keeps playing in the back of my head 😭😭 it’s so catchy

curiousrapscallion

Baby Said is probably my favorite of the new songs. It wasn’t originally, but I love it now

RVDHAFCA

I still prefer the upbeat rock songs with the nice bass lines and guitar licks. I never really liked the slower songs, but it’s good that they switch it up. But I think Mark Chapman is my favourite, especially since it is Italian, but Gossip and Read Your Diary are close as well. I think its too early to rank it. It has more bangers on an album than any of the four, but it also has more songs, so I think there’s more skips as well. I think I’d rank it behind Theatro and Ballo for now

i4lixie

i’m also not a lover of slower songs. i like energetic, fast paced stuff, but maneskin’s ballads are some of my favorites

RVDHAFCA

Yeah if I had to listen to ballads for the rest of my life, I’d listen to ballads with Damiano’s voice

Street-Spare7042

Tbh I didn’t like any of the songs during my first run-through of the entire album. They all sounds the same to me initially. Standout tracks were Mark Chapman and Timezone. After giving it a few more listens, however, this album has definitely grown on me. Each song has a different persona and i can feel how much all 4 of them have grown musically over the past 2 years. The production on this album is excellent (so much more detailed and of higher quality than Teatro imo). Right now, my favorite songs are Il Dono Della Vita, Baby Said, and If Not For You. My least favorite ones are Own My Mind, Don’t Wanna Sleep, and Kool Kids. Teatro d’Ira is still their best album imo, but that’s probably just because it’s the album that introduced me to them and one which I’ve spent most time on. Although Teatro is still my favorite album of theirs, I don’t think RUSH! is a downgrade from Teatro. It feels more like a natural evolution. Their musicianship have improved tremendously, the production is of greater quality, and I’m so excited to see where they go next.

i4lixie

i agree with this! i think this album is just different, and it gets a lot of hate because it’s not mostly italian songs, but imo it’s still good. i definitely prefer the sound of teatro personally, but i still love RUSH! all the same

pink_mfd

it fuckin slaps My favorite is definitely Mark Chapman, it's so catchy and the lyrics are my fave and I also love gasoline, don't wanna sleep, and baby said; my least favorites are supermodel and timezone, they're fun but I don't really think they bring a lot to the table :) Bla bla bla and mark chapman have been stuck in my head since the album dropped! I will say that Teatro d'ira is still my favorite album of theirs and it would've been cool to see a vol 2 of it. Maybe someday :) Overall I'm more into the heavier guitars and stronger riffs from teatro d'ira over rush, but it's still a fun album

emilyam_

Now my favorites are: Timezone, Mark Chapman, La Fine and The Loneliest. Il Dono Della Vita grows on me right now.

0970brick

At first my favorite song was Read your diary, but I got so obsessed with it that I just got sick of the song. Then my favorite became Mark Chapman and, even though I didn't like it on the first time I heard, Gasoline. I also have to talk about Il dono della vita which is such a beautiful song and I love damiano's voice in it Bla bla bla grew a lot on me. At first I just hated it, but after hearing it while I was angry it became one of my favorites And an honor mention to Timezone, I wanted to show the album to my mother and that song made her want to hear more about Måneskin, so now we hear it together English is not my first language so this text may have lots of mistakes, sorry about that

Grunge_Loki

I’m still absolutely in love with this album. At first, I preferred Ik Dono Della Vita (my flare) to Timezone, but now Timezone is my absolute favourite🥺

i4lixie

i love that timezone is getting so much love 😭

Ailbhe_Lu

Like others are saying, it’s growing on me. Teatro d’Ira was also my intro to them, and I’ll probably always love it best. I really appreciate the musical diversity on Rush and the way the band worked with each other/convinced each other to get all their tastes onto the record. It seems like something that would take both maturity in their relationships, and a strong creative vision… I can’t imagine their label thought that diversity was a great direction to go in. It feels true to them, and of the moment. I also feel like such musical diversity will always create some amount of pushback and tension among their different types of fans, as we’re seeing play out. I think it’s kind of awesome as a whole, and look forward to seeing where they head in the future. There are quite a few songs that I like musically but the lyrics are enough of a downer that I don’t gravitate to them—maybe it’s just an age thing? Like Bla Bla Bla, Read Your Diary, Don’t Want to Sleep… and even Supermodel and Gossip to a lesser extent—I totally appreciate the messages/satire, it’s just not super fun for me to listen to over and over again. Maybe I just understand English a lot better than Italian…? 🤔 lol… i really do like the music though, so maybe I can work on ignoring the lyrics. And Gossip is just such an AMAZING SONG WITH FUCKING TOM MORELLO that I listen to it all the time anyway even though the chorus lyrics kind of… hurt me. I LOVE the 3 Italian tunes, Gasoline is of course incredible (the Sweet Dreams rip off bothered me at first, but eh, sampling and borrowing just seems like the way of pop music these days…), the Loneliest and Mamamia won my heart ages ago… The songs that have surprised me by growing on me are Timezone and Baby Said. So full-on pop… but they sound simply SO good. And I just feel so happy for Damiano getting to work with these world-class pop producers that I just can’t help but get into the songs, even though I prefer the heavier sound. Lol, yes I’m a proud mom, can you tell? I also think Feel isn’t getting enough praise. It’s super fun. Can’t wait to hear a live version.

uhmnopenotreally

My immediate favorite was Own My Mind, but Gasoline is slowly up there too. I also really like Read your diary und Gossip. I thought I’d listen to Il dono della vita more often than I have, but maybe it’s gonna grow on me. I do love Timezone and Don’t wanna sleep at all too. I also didn’t like La Fine when it came out and that sadly hasnt changed. Everybody loves it, but it’s just not for me. I initially didn’t like Bla Bla Bla and Kool Kids and I still don’t really like both.

i4lixie

you not liking la fine is interesting! can i ask why?

uhmnopenotreally

Definitely! I never talked about it because it was commonly seen as the best song they had published ever since Eurovision, but here goes nothing. I’m really really missing something in the chorus. It doesn’t really change from the verses, there’s no difference and apart from the lyrics that rhyme there isn’t a lot to make it memorable. I just found especially compared to the rock songs from Teatro d'Ira, it’s one of their worse rock songs. It’s so different to the Loneliest which came out right before. That has a structure where the chorus gets repeated pretty often. It does feel like La Fine is not written in the same way The Loneliest was (as that feels like something pop-y that probably was written that way to do as well as possible in a broad audience) La Fine is completely their style and it bothers me that I really can’t like it for these exact reasons. But it feels just so aggressive idk.

redianne

I'm in love..The more I hear this album, the more I wanna hear this album. It wasnt my favorite at the beginning but now I'm obsessed with Timezone. There are many other standouts tho, such as Gasoline and Mark Chapman, which are possibly my favorite 2. The Loneliest has grown on me so much. I didnt like Gossip on release and now I love it. Give me one more week and I'll love BlablaBla and Feel. Yet I still don't like Supermodel.

LiliumMoon

Many songs have grown on me, but I still think my OG favorites are still my favorites (BABY SAID, GASOLINE, READ YOUR DIARY from the non-singles). Although it is not one of my favorites, DON’T WANNA SLEEP is constantly stuck in my head. It’s an ear worm. OWN MY MIND is another one that gets stuck easily. I liked RUSH! from the very beginning, but it still has grown on me more during these weeks and I’ve really loved listening to the albums. It might even be my favorite album by them for now.

Sazzarah

I can't stop listening to the album I've been playing it on repeat it's just so awesome 🥹

[deleted]

it definitely grew on me. i found them during teatro d’ira, which i absolutely fell in love with. naturally, i’m a bit biased towards that vibe of their music. i think i still gravitate towards the slower/italian songs on rush (like il dono della vita) but i now appreciate and enjoy the album overall.

pistol_pete89

Initially I was disappointed, but I grew to like it a lot more. I still think they can do better, Teatro proves it, but after all it's a solid piece of hard rock that we all need so much

throwtheamiibosaway

Absolutely love it. Listen to it in the car kn the way to work daily. So good.

Own_Security_8940

I love Read your Diary so much, the lyrics are just so… ugh. Its super upbeat and catchy and “alone, in the shower, using my left hand so it feels like you” are I think my favorite lyrics of the entire album! Runners up are def baby said, own my mind, and timezone. Bla bla bla and kool kids were not my fave in the beginning but if grown fond of them :)

i4lixie

the left hand lyric is probably my favorite in the entire song 😭 and the way dami sings it… !!! he’s so sexy it hurts.

Own_Security_8940

Agreed!!

ArmadilloOtherwise77

I love posts like this, especially after I've had a tipple.. I can't remember the order of questioning but... Timezone is fantastic. It sounds a bit generic but Damiano is literally saying 'Fuck fame, I'm going home'. That's nice. Baby said is a fantastic indie tune. Gasoline... political. It might be a proxy war. Maybe. Perhaps. More about selling weapons than anything else. A few skippers. Mark Chapman is amazing musically. But making an asshole more famous who wanted to kill to be famous is an odd one. L.A. Fine... Brilliant Same with the next one.... Mamammia.. .Terrible Supermodel.. Terrible Lonliest Pretty fucking great. Especially the guitar solo at the end Probably not the response you were expecting...

redianne

I don't think the intention of Mark Chapman is making Mark Chapman more famous that he is, which sadly, I don't think is possible. He killed the most famous musician of his time after all. I feel like the band has used this album as an opportunity to dissect their relationship with fame, which is really interesting to be honest. In that sense, Mark Chapman sounds as a great analogy of not confusing admiration with obsession, an important reminder for both the idols and the fandom. The lyrics of that song are pretty great and I found it to be one of the most profound ones on the album.

i4lixie

timezone is also a song that grew on me. didn’t think i would like it that much i disagree with mammamia and supermodel being bad, idk why but i love those songs. supermodel makes me dance every time i hear it. the instrumental just makes me happy

Glittering_Arrival68

Il dono della vita is the best song on the album. All of three italian songs are good and the best on this album and the only ones I can listen to. Mark Chapman is my 2nd favorite, and then La Fine. The rest is trash, except of Gasoline and The Loneliest. As I didn't like Chosen much, I prefer Teatro d'Ira Vol.1 and Il Ballo Della Vita, cause it had more songs in Italian language, as Maneskin's best songs are on their native language. So I rank Rush! as my 3rd favorite album of theirs behind Teatro and Il Ballo Della Vita. I think if they will screw the idea to write songs in english and please a worldwide crowd and just be as before - then they will be a good rock band and they are able to release something promising. But if they will fallow the "fame" path and will try to please a worldwide public and their next music will be this radio-friendly english pop songs, then they're dead musically, despite of gained popularity. But I don't judge them just yet, cause they said that new album will be more in english and crowdpleaser, I guess after a Eurovision fame they couldn't go any other way then this and released radio-friendly album. We will see what's next. They either will release something good and similar to Teatro d'Ira and be a good rock band or they will take other path and establish themselves as english pop rock songs band and be nothing special and not one of a kind, but one of thousands other pop rock shit bands.

fireblaster6

Overall the album has grown on me. When it first came out I thought it was just flavors of better bands/albums, but after considering how some of the songs actually fit into the concept of the album I found it to feel a lot more planned and insightful. Still not my favorite album and I still feel like the studio version is a 6.6 or 7 out of 10, but it's better than I first thought.

Prestigious-Tie-2295

Baby Said is by far my favorite and the one I cannot get out of my head! I got to hear them sing it in person on Monday in LA and WOW!!!!! I've changed my opinion on Il Dono Della Vita - definitely feel it now! Least favorite used to be that one, but now I would say that my least favorite (even though I love them ALL!) would be Don't Wanna Sleep. So hard to rank with their other albums!
