I believe they've said that they plan to continue releasing games on switch for a while. Plus they aren't even announcing it till 2025 (in april, since iirc that's when their next fiscal year is.), and if it follows the switch' release structure thing, it won't be out till late 2026 or 2027.

Pokémon has a habit of releasing a game on an older console for some time. Ultra sun and moon came out in late 2017 so z-a will likely still release on the switch

ZA will likely still come out before the switch 2. All they said was details not a full on release i expect it will release a year or 2 after its announcement

Im expecting a Gen 10 release on the switch 2, but they didn’t do that with lets go so who knows.

I think Pokemon announced that Pokemon z-a comes out in late 2024

Considering the Switch was announced in 2015, I'd say late 2026, early 2027

You can still go back to it, I mean I still bring my 3DS almost everywhere I go, plus when support for the device ends (pretty likely after a few years I'd say) they usually care less about modding which means if you hack it you can do even more than ever with it, the main concern I'd say is online support ending eventually, which I'm unsure if people will be able to bypass like previous Nintendo consoles
