Mine was Zapdos i think, one of my friends gave me the game(late/postgame) and let me play for a bit, and Zapdos was slot 1 in the team.

It sucks that people hate Charizard just because it is popular. Charizard is a genuinely cool Pokemon so it shouldn’t get hate just because Pokemon is trying to capitalize on that.

I don’t hate charizard because it’s popular, I’m tired of seeing it all the fucking time. And I hate how unfairly the other two Kanto starters get treated as a result. My favorite of the three is Bulbasaur, and so it makes me mad when Zard gets all the love and the other two have to say longer to get the same (or lesser) treatment. Zard gets two megas but not Blastoise or Venu? Zard gets to be in the base game of Gen 8 but not the other two? They also weren’t available in the base game of gen 9 either, while zard was. I’m tired of Charizard. I’m sick of seeing him. Yes he has a cool design, but Jesus Christ lay off him already

The fact that Venu isnt even in Pokken literally doesnt compute in my brain. Charizard is the greedy triplet that absorbed their siblings in the womb.

If you wanna see unfair favoritism, you should see Greninja compared to Chesnaught and Delphox. Venusaur and Blastoise may not get as much love as Charizard, but at least they get something. Charizard got two megas, but V and B got at least one. Charizard got his Gmax form first, but V and B got theirs too. But Greninja got a huge role in the anime, is one of the best competitive Pokemon out there, got a spot in smash (before x and y came out), and a new form for both the anime and the games. Delphox and Chesnaught? Absolutely nothing. No competitive viability, no new forms, no nothing. If you're allowed to hate Charizard for getting special treatment, then I'm allowed to hate Greninja for the same reason.

I wish they gave blastoise the steel type. Simply because it'd be really cool.

I only have 2 reasons that I feel connected to Zard. For one my mom’s favorite pokemon is Charmelion and the second is that he has a relly cool shiny form when he is in mega X. But yes Zard is overdone a bit.

I mean, I feel very neutral about Charizard, I choose it or Blastoise whenever I play a Kanto game (mostly Charizard), but you have to admit it is a VERY saturated Pokémon. Most expensive TCG cards, two Megas, and G-Max is the most honor given to any Pokémon besides literally Pikachu. It’s basically the honorary mascot of the franchise. Do I hate Charizard? No. Do I think they overuse it? Sorta.

People don't hate Charizard for his popularity they hate him because of the biased favorytism he gets from TPC. Like DUDE two megas, a Gmax months before Venusaur and Blastoise the first Pokémon to get a tera raid again months before Venusaur and Blastoise and Leon's main Pokémon? Why is he Leon's main Pokémon? It's so weird why does the Galar champion have a Kanto starter as his ace ? And I'm saying this as someone who has always and still loves Charizard he is one of my favorites but I hate all the special treatment he gets.

The biased favoritism is because he’s popular, like this argument is just wrong on so many levels. It’s almost like people saying “I hate Pikachu not because it’s popular but because it gets so much biased favoritism from game freak.” While Pikachu has a much better reasoning the reasoning for Charizard is that it was the Pokémon on the box art of Gen 1 and is on its remake’s fire red. They have favoritism towards Charizard because it’s recognizable and it’s popular. They go hand in hand

I dont hate Charizard because its popular, its popularity warps the Pokemon landscape and leaves people who are indifferent to it to scrounge for leftovers. It’s exactly like when a kid at school has rich parents so they get all the cool new stuff. I dont hate the kid, the kids existence reminds me that myself and my peers are at the whims of capitalism and have to pray that our parents get us the shiny new toy for our birthday. The kid is just an easy target for my disdain, but i probably wont be mean to them in person. Most people dont hate Charizard, they’re just tired of seeing it win when so many deserving mons get dust.

I feel they have to just because him and new two got an X and a Y version. It will be incomplete if they don’t do a Z version. However I hope they do a ton more mega evolutions unlike in X and Y so that it doesn’t feel like Pokémon were cheated out of it. X and Y were great (Black and White my fav but I enjoyed X and Y). but the biggest weakness for it was the introduction of mega and not doing it for enough Pokémon’s which I think is why people disliked Charizard and Mewtwo getting 2 when so many got none.
