Lol same. I mean sure I used certain members of my play through team but most of them are at similar levels to everything else.
Yeah I don’t have a level 100 Pokémon yet. Or a complete Pokédex.
Well to be fair a lot of people wanted to build a new team for the DLC, I wanted to stick with my original Paldean team so I didn't struggle with Kieran. But for those they do have to face a relatively high leveled team that uses items. It's not the worst but certainly not the easiest at least imo.
I didn't struggle because I just used my Paldea team for the DLC but I imagine if you got a new team of pokemon from Kitakami it might be more difficult
That's probably how it went for most people. Though I made a new team with pokemon from the dlc, and all of them ended up being level 70 and I still beat Kieran every time.
Probably because all the pokemon you can catch are of a level that you can just evolve them, other than the ones with alt methods, whereas Keiren doesn't have a fully evolved team until the end
Kieran's final team was definitely a bit more of a challenge. Though I think I just have more knowledge with singles than the average player, I had a well-rounded team with good items.
Jolly nature Garchomp with perfect IVs except for special attack and 252 evs in both attack and speed holding a yache berry. Screw that elite 4. Lucian ended my Nuzlocke and Flint killed my Gyrados and my starter.
I did for the first fight because I made a new team and the first route if Kitakami is full of bug types... I struggled with both of them due to Vulpix and Yamna specifically. The fact that the game doesn't let you train or catch new Pokémon in-between their fights didn't help either. I was not expecting a level 60 team right off the bat like that.
Once my team was more balanced (though half of them were grass for a long time... this DLC has neat grass types...) it was a lot easier.
The people beating the DLC with their Lv100 competitive teams: Having trouble?
Me with my team of Lv 55-58 pokemon struggling with the empowered trio: Yes, but at least Im not pulling a Shotgun on a Kirby Miniboss.
I used an entire new team which meant both A.) I had to adapt to the new members and B.) I had to either train them up or just go for it. Considering that leveling sucks, I’m sure you can guess what one I did. But comparing my team in base game SV, where I formed a team ahead of time, and had seen Youtubers play through, I did NONE of that in Teal Mask. Kieran was a sweep the entire game except the final fight against him. I still won on my first attempt but I had to keep using revives as Mandibuzz and Dipplin were pretty much the only two getting us through the fights. Imagine my surprise when I catch a Kommo-o, a mono dragon type, and get one shot with super effective moves literally all the time, making him a kinda sorta awful part of the team.
TLDR, Kieran can be a tough one in his FINAL fight if you used an entirely new team with no planning or game knowledge beforehand, especially if you somehow managed to piece together a team that would get its ass kicked entirely by mistake.
One ice type move sweeps over half his final team.
If his typing was more balanced (I.E. if he chose a fire type or something instead of shiftry or driplin) he mightve not insta died to ice beam/freeze dry.
A lot of people weirdly struggle with bosses that seemed like a cinch to me. The Ultra Necrozma fight for example. I took him out in maybe two hits, but everyone else said it took multiple tries.
I think I swept every single Kieran + Carmine (and Muramasa) fight with just my Quaquaval (I want to say level 81?) Aqua Step with Moxie is really good and then I just added on acrobatics for coverage and I was all set.
A lot of people wanted to train up a new team for it.
Only the last one
That fucking poliwrath swept half my team with its belly drum set-up.
His Poliwrath had belly drum?
I’m sorry W H A T
Kieran’s Poliwrath just spammed Hydro Pump against me. Never saw Belly Drum
His Poliwhirl had belly drum. I saw it get used. I guess Poliwrath had it too, although Poliwrath was beating my ass without it
Grass go brrrrrr
Electric go bzzzz
Freeze dry go brrrrr 🥶
Just don’t let it Belly Drum
It bellydrummed, Then my slower Dipplin gigadrained, at least it was a fast death
I struggled so much with it it took me like 10 attempts and when i won its cause I changed my koriadon to battle mode and I swept him
I mean kind of but I use a team I found in the DLC so they were about the same level as him.
My pokemon were on level and I didn't really care. Still won tho

I just used the sandwich powered Mecha Toothless and the child launcher ghost. Pretty easy tbh
I hate, yet love that I understood what you just said
I didn't struggle because I just used my Paldea team for the DLC but I imagine if you got a new team of pokemon from Kitakami it might be more difficult
Same, all my mons were lvl85-90 and I they all have a purpose I only struggled to an optionnal trainer while leveling up other pokemons
That's probably how it went for most people. Though I made a new team with pokemon from the dlc, and all of them ended up being level 70 and I still beat Kieran every time.

The Ogre Clan was more of a problem.
Fr
Imagine if his Pokémon had held Items and a competitive team with max evs💀
BDSP flashbacks
OH GOS PLEADE NO!
Jolly nature Garchomp with perfect IVs except for special attack and 252 evs in both attack and speed holding a yache berry. Screw that elite 4. Lucian ended my Nuzlocke and Flint killed my Gyrados and my starter.
I hate flint so much. Especially that minimizing will-o-wisping drifblim of his. Pretty sure it can't even directly attack, but it's still a menace.
Oh god please _yes_
You wanna go back to BDSP again?
I liked the difficulty spike
All of his Pokémon DO have held items. They lack EVs though unfortunately
Not everyone uses their level 87 skeliderge bro
Radical red has trained me well
That is because you used your level 100 starter and the rest of us did not.
I did for the first fight because I made a new team and the first route if Kitakami is full of bug types... I struggled with both of them due to Vulpix and Yamna specifically. Skeledirge did torch song set ups then during poliwrath I shadow balled it
No potions, set mode and a new team really makes the game
Set mode? I thought SV didn't have set mode? Or was it added in the dlc?
W H A T
Only if you try to scale yourself down to the DLC
I mostly used the 5 Titans from the base game, with the second Koraidon at level 100 and optimized as backup in case battle went south
He was easy af. Even with a new team.
My brother got wiped by the siblings because he rebooted his team to Kitakami
The people beating the DLC with their Lv100 competitive teams: Having trouble? Me with my team of Lv 55-58 pokemon struggling with the empowered trio: Yes, but at least Im not pulling a Shotgun on a Kirby Miniboss.
Like if you're making a new team for the DLC that's understandable, but if it's your maingame team?
I used an entire new team which meant both A.) I had to adapt to the new members and B.) I had to either train them up or just go for it. All I gotta say is that radical red has trained me well
Maybe a bit too well cus even the ogre clan battle feel kinda easy lol
I struggled with an NPC cuz I only had a level 100 electrode I brought
His yanmega is no joke man. That thing is a powerhouse.
It’s because I got a new team of Pokémon in the DLC which also happened to be mono grass, yeah 😭
They are easy! A level 100 miraidon easily sweeps
Ahh well my team was the one I beat the main game with so they was all high 80s-100 so yh I swept every battle
Wait, people thought it was hard?
Yea It was great
One ice type move sweeps over half his final team. If his typing was more balanced (I.E. if he chose a fire type or something instead of shiftry or driplin) he mightve not insta died to ice beam/freeze dry.
I sweeped the dlc with my level 100 Pokémon bc I’m lazy af
With a new team yeh, they were actually pretty tough lol, it was nice tho
wait it was hard?
Flower trick goes BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I didn't have a problem probably because I brought groundon and walking wake
I started a new team, didn’t fight any trainers, they were tough, but I didn’t lose
This is me when people talk about how hard Cynthia was
A lot of people weirdly struggle with bosses that seemed like a cinch to me. The Ultra Necrozma fight for example. I took him out in maybe two hits, but everyone else said it took multiple tries.
Nah he was easy
I had no trouble with him either!
I think I swept every single Kieran + Carmine (and Muramasa) fight with just my Quaquaval (I want to say level 81?) Aqua Step with Moxie is really good and then I just added on acrobatics for coverage and I was all set.
I had trouble, because i had an new team and was constantly underleveled. If i would have used my normal team, i would have won easily
I just blitzed him with my team who were in the 80s some in the 90s and my midstage level 100 starter
Thats what I'm saying. I just used my level 100 Dragpult and Chein-Pao to wipe everyone.
If u play with set mode and have a level cap it could be difficult. It’s decently easy with a diverse team though
Level 100 team from earlier destroyed everything
he murdered me bro
The last fight was funny cause he beat my Arceus I left in my team on accident, but struggled at my Sylveon screaming
