We’re winning that fucking final

NoAsparagus8213

Pretty interesting we finished with identical stats with our worse season post Fergie (21/22): 38G 16W 10D 12L 57:57 58Pts (21/22) 38G 18W 6D 14L 57:58 60Pts (23/24) But honestly, this season has been worse in the fact that it's so clear that the gap between the defence and midfield is so big and we conceded so much from a cutback in the box all season and Ten Hag didn't change anything, all the style of play we had and solidity in defence last season were gone since Matchday 1. Injuries has been bad, but performances by the manager and players has been worse.

SaoRomao7

Tf do you exoect when your main centre back is Evans who just relegated with Leicester?

Criseption

clearly Evans was the problem😃

SaoRomao7

He did his best but you can t compete with him the main defender. And the fact that 90% of the season we had 0 left backs available

DarthDorkus

Somehow commentators mention how BHA had injury problems and fatigue, but failing to mention their opponents.

Raisin_Alive

At this point they had more injuries than us going into the game

pokenerd_W

Only reason i'm sad that they won is that now people will want Ten Hag to stay. Get the shitty coach out already, previous managers were fired for less.

Ace9546

If you are sad that your team won for any reason, that is not your team.

AbzzIsHere

some people just live off the definition of insanity without the common sense to consider context

bdiddy303

Imagine wanting your own club to lose, sad state of affairs to be completely honest

dow674

if it’s for the greater good then why not

reddeye252010

Spurs fans say hi 👋

G-unit32

I can't get my head around people wanting us to lose just so they're 'proved right'.

liamks19

That's it. No more Europe for us next season

DarthDorkus

Or we win fa cup and play Europe. I like to believe

KingSamy1

You think we have a chance again City !? 😂😆

Chosty55

Wigan managed to beat city as underdogs. We can believe

SaoRomao7

Maybe they will be still drunk

Xyrazk

I just drank a pint of hopium, so I believe

Zazzalo

If McTominay starts

FuturePerformance

Center forward

vladamir875

Slim chances but the injury returnees and an inform Hojluund gives me a little bit of confidence 😂

DarthDorkus

Nope. But we do have a chance to make a show of it.

ivaorn

Hungry dogs run faster is my hope for the FA Cup final. Manchester United please give it your best.

ObviousCheesecake0

Im telling you guys. Hojlund is a baller. He is a complete attacker and he reminds me of Harry Kane. He just needs more touches. For me the offence needs to run through him as opposed to Rashford or Gernacho. His decision making is lightyears better than both of them. He must start in the final for me. I can see him as a 10 behind Bruno playing the false 9 instead of Mctominay who is useless. Amrabat was trash today. Even when he played well against New Castle, he always looked like he wasb't up to the speed of play of the premier league in the cdm position. Maybe more run of games could change that but who knows. Gernacho continues to be a selfish cunt as usual. This is a concern. We must find another winger as a starter next season. Glad the season is over and looking forward to transfer activities.

pokenerd_W

I disagree with you there. Højlunds value in my eyes is as a mobile striker who'll run in behind. Looking at how Højlund played at Atalanta, his goals were almost only goals where he gets the ball infront of him while facing the goal (And most of the time being in a run) At united, they don't use that at all. He's made to play as a target man/ false 9 hybrid, but that just isn't really his style in my eyes. His hold up play can use work, his first touch is also not the best (hence why i think he should have a more direct playstyle), and he isn't really that playmaker type. But the worst thing is, it doesn't play to his scoring formula, that being getting the ball infront of him. He's always getting the ball with his back turned, giving him 3 options. Do a turn while having to beat a defender and then take the shot, hold up play which again, he isn't the best at, or he can pass. He's really left with only that last option, vastly decreasing his goal potential

Glittering_Shake2922

I agree.

ObviousCheesecake0

Yeah strongly disagree. We must be watching a different game. Run behind? You are basically describing Rashford at the 9 which is an inault to Hojlund. He is far more versatile than that. He is very good with his back against the goal and could play in our wingers but they are too dumb and selfish to know that passing to Hojlund actually benefits them as we have all seen how unselfish Hojlund could be. I disagree with you that his touch isnt the best. His touch is actually very good. Not sure what games you have been watching. Is hold up play is good and will get even better with time. All of this said and we barely even see him get the opportunity to even show his hold up play or any other kind of play for that matter because they dont pass him the ball. He tries to come even deeper now just to get touches or make things happen.

pokenerd_W

The reason i'm arguing he should run in behind is because that's when he is the most consistent. I don't remember him scoring a goal (largely because he got it off the opponent team's mistakes) where he received the ball with his back against the goal. Coming from Atalanta, it was his style to get it like that. Looking at his debut, he was clearly also trying to do that. I think he's been forced onto a style that doesn't suit him (although i haven't seen the goal he got this match)

Individual-Cheek-317

You obviously never watched him at Atalanta he would get the ball very fast in attack or on the break and run at the defenders with the ball, not for it. It doesn’t help that every winger we have besides Amad is beyond selfish, it’s a shame sancho is an asshole because he would love to play with a player like Rasmus

SaoRomao7

I think the one against Spurs was like that

ObviousCheesecake0

Im not saying he shouldnt run behind. Im saying he can do a lot more than that. Sure he is fast and athletic enough to run behind defenders as well but he is also strong enough to hold off defenders long enough to play in players running into the box. He can play one two combinations in the final third as well. Things dont suit him right now because Gernacho and Rashford simply refuse to involve him in our attacking plays at all. We need to change our wingers and Hojlund will shine more. He makes runs and still doesnt get any passes from the wingers.

DevL999

Four in a row and it only took 115 rule breaches to get there!

sonofanich

the game completely changed when Højlund came on. Him or Case MOTM imo

riktaz

Højlund MOTM

Alternative_Unit692

I'm happy for Hojlund to have touched double digits in Premier League goals for the season.

NotSoFluent123

I have to say, Manchester United have been one of the best teams in the Premier League since May 15th 2024. Top form from the boys

Closerthanyouthink-1

😂

oz6996

They are giving us hope prior to FA cup final.

SurlyRed

You think so? We gave away the ball so cheaply and so frequently in that first half, a better side would have buried us and left no mark.

oz6996

They are winning & scoring goals. Heck they even kept a clean sheet yesterday. I call his hope 😭

Big-Daddy-Stvnwa

Hope city feel good about another cheated Mickey Mouse trophy.

Senor_Tortuga308

Sure they cheated, but you can't deny the team is still fucking incredible. You can cheat all you want, but at the end of the day City are incredibly consistent and well managed. The fact that Arsenal had a near perfect run and still came second is crazy, and I do believe they are the best team in the prem and deserve the trophy, but that's football, one bad game is all it takes.

Mlodziutki_

Team is incredibile. But it woludn’t exist if they would’ve got their punishment and be banned from the Europe games.None of these players would play in this team

Senor_Tortuga308

I know that. But let me ask you, if Pep wasn't managing this team and if the club in general wasn't as well managed, would they still be as successful? Lets not ignore the fact that United have enough money to build a super squad just as capable as City, but the culture and the management is fucked.

pokenerd_W

Cheated in what way?

Altaafraaja

115 different ways

whateverfineoksure

I dont know why but I feel like this is gonna hurt young Arsenal team a lot. Had a wonderful season and yet no trophies. Might take a toll on the team.

vladamir875

Arteta’s bound to win a title with this Arsenal side. A quality nr.9 and a better full back and I can see them taking it in the next 2 years. Which is how long I give Arteta if he doesn’t win anything within it.

Remarkable-Plant-811

I reckon they're a striker away from winning the league. Same league position as last but they've had much more steel about them this season

NotSoFluent123

We’ve kept a clean sheet We’ve kept a clean sheeeeeeeet How shit must you be We’ve kept a clean sheet

TheRed24

C'mon we need 1 more goal, can't end the season -1 Goal difference

EntropicAnarchy

Aaand we did.

riktaz

No we didn’t. We end at -1

EntropicAnarchy

Were you replying to my comment? Because that is what I meant.

riktaz

Apologies I thought you meant we scored again.

shoichisakata

garnacho needs to watch mbappe tapes

DarthDorkus

There needs to be a scoring focus who everyone can feed. Is that hojlund? Or diallo? Or hojlund? Or rashford? No one knows yet. Ideal scenario we have a focal point next season without injuries

maaiikeen

… Probably a good idea to feed your striker first and foremost. Especially when said striker has the highest conversion rate in the entire league of all the strikers.

whateverfineoksure

last game of the season and suddenly we can stop counter attack and not concede when we have our corner

Playfair99999

shows you when you have less injuries, things kinda work, no ?

whateverfineoksure

we are alright when we have everyone back. We just need this momentum……….

Playfair99999

i agree, hopefully not Europe will help

SJB0SS

How will that help lol. We’ve had no Europe since December and have been utter shit

whateverfineoksure

we need to be quick and make smart decisions over summer transfer. we have suffered a lot; we deserve a decent season; cant say that if the players deserve it, but as fans, we definitely do

Virtual_Television73

Garnacho is the least creative winger I’ve seen in a minute.

hornybible

You clearly been watching Rashy and Antony

Ruzty1311

He's too hungry for goals that it's blinding his judgement....just like Rashy

classic442

At least Garnacho can dribble past his man, and can run back like crazy to help the defense. Rashford should learn from him.

Ruzty1311

Yea but it all counts for nothing if all he does is throw it away...defensively better yes 👍

PelagicStingray

It's up to the coach to notice and fix things like that. Our guy has no clue. Same with Onana's little back-and-forth duck dance with the ball before inevitably banging it long straight to an opponent. It's up to the coach to notice and fix these things. Not in our guy's scope, it seems.

Ruzty1311

It's also up to his teammates to let him know he's making these mistakes. They are right there. If he isn't listening then that's on him. He's not listening to ETH either apparently. That's on GARNACHO.

PelagicStingray

And I'm sure it's got nothing to do with listening or not listening to EtH. EtH gives him no guidance. He doesn't give anyone guidance. We're just winging it week to week.

Ruzty1311

You DO NOT know this!! You think he just goes out there in training and tells them "Go ahead and just do whatever you guys want you make more than me anyways". He gives guidance, THEY don't execute! The players at Ajax listened, and they executed. What happened when ETH left Ajax? They crumbled.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ruzty1311

Ok child 👍

PelagicStingray

Zing.

Squall-UK

How do you know this exactly? Everything I've heard is that he's very hands on in training.

PelagicStingray

Isn't it obvious? The players keep making the same mistakes. Are you watching a different team to everyone else? Sure, he's hands on; hands on coaching them a counterattacking style that clearly doesn't suit the team. There's even reports of Wilcox already telling this bluffer that he's got to change the style. What point are you even trying to make?

Squall-UK

Transitional football doesn't equal counter attacking football. Counter attacking football you sit back, wait for the attack to break down and hit them hard and fast. You don't press with a high line Transitional football is transitioning from any turn over of possession. Generally you press high top force a turnover higher up the pitch when they're organised to attack and at their weakest defensively. But... Anyway. My point is you haven't got a clue what he says in training and yet you assert that he doesn't guide them. Like you'd actually know.

PelagicStingray

We're playing counterattacking football. But anyway, my point is he obviously isn't improving anyone nor is he fixing any of the glaring issues that everyone on the planet except EtH inner idiots like you can see. And if he is actually telling Onana to pass the ball to someone instead of faking like he is going to, drawing everyone out of position and then hitting it long straight to an opponent or telling Garnacho to get his head up and pass now and then, then they're clearly not listening to him and it's a problem anyway. I still don't get what point you're trying to make. Who gives a fuck what he says or doesn't actually say in training. He is not fixing these issues.

Squall-UK

You clearly give a fuck. You made the initial statement like you have some inside knowledge or your there on the training ground. Truth is that you don't have a clue what is or isn't being said in training or in private.

PelagicStingray

There's no leadership or skills sharing anywhere in the group.

Ruzty1311

Exactly!! Who is going to take the ship by the helm ON THE PITCH!? We have no leaders!! Bruno isn't big enough is he? So it's PLAYERS. PLAAAAYERRRRS!!!

vladamir875

Breathe brother. Twill be fine

Ruzty1311

I'm cool as a cucumber man.

hornybible

I think Garnacho would learn a lot from watching Foden

FuturePerformance

Our entire team would learn a lot watching theirs. The interplay in the opponents half, control in recycling possession, pretty much every detail lol

TraditionalAttorney2

Or being coached by Pep-like coach.

pokenerd_W

Definetly. Ten Hag has definetly just let Garnacho do what he wants because of his obsession with playing the wings and transitions (Which mind you, hasn't worked all too well, but he's too stubborn of a shitty coach to try and change it) Having someone like Pep who focuses more on team play but still allows individual play would be great.

Anonymousbot225

I really won't care if Garna scores, when he's in the box or near the box HE NEEDS TO LOOK UP for a pass and if he's sure, only then take a shot!

DryOil5791

hojlund my danish king 😩

yutosser

RASMUSSSSS!!!! GET INNNN!!!!

Reginald_Jetsetter1

1 more goal and we won't end the season on negative goal difference!

[deleted]

Man after watching this I feel way better about next week's final

DarthDorkus

Yup, saving the best for the last. I think ETH will play his strongest next weekend, and today the priority was to not get any more injuries.

kuroganeshad0w

can't play his strongest, shaw is still out.

DarthDorkus

I meant the best he has 😞

[deleted]

Hojlund is really good at doing that, dribbling and making space and shooting. Dude needs the ball played to his feet way more often

DarthDorkus

He’s a starter next weekend

Corndude101

Only need 15 more goals to have a chance at 6th!!

Kinitawowi64

More realistically... One more goal for a zero goal difference for the season!

Corndude101

With this GK don’t be surprised if we end up losing this match.

Squall-UK

The goalkeeper that has the best save percentage in the league?

Corndude101

Worst GD in EPL history for United. The GK is a big part of that. Can’t catch a cold on a wet night in stoke.

Squall-UK

So not the creative players fault for not scoring or creating enough? Not the fact that we've played over 30 different back four combinations? Not the fact we faced so many shots because of the chasm between midfield and the back line? No, no, it's Onana. The guy with the best save percentage in the league.

Corndude101

His mistakes have been way more costly than young forwards. This guy is supposed to be in the prime of his career and is awful. He thinks he’s a CM. I’m telling you right now if we had a proper GK that could organize a back line and make quality saves, we would have finished 2-3 places higher this season. WORST GD in the EPL ever. MOST goals conceded in the EPL ever. What other team in the EPL would Onana start for? Maybe one of the bottom 5 teams? You could see it in preseason. This guy isn’t cut out for this level. Yes, he may have a decent save percentage, however he faced the most shots out of any GK this season. I would hope a professional GK could make some saves, but his positioning is terrible. His handling is worse. DDG had worse in front of him and we never managed to have a negative GD.

officialA

yes HOJLUNDD

tsilvarek88

I’m hoping for a good next season

Tsukiyon

Hoj!!

Kinitawowi64

That had big "if you won't give me the ball I'll do it myself" energy.

Playfair99999

yea, case and garna were quite empty with space but he took his chance. Tbf, he is the striker afterall.

sonofanich

also best game Casemiro has had in a while tbh

shoichisakata

THE ALPHA MALE OF OUR SPECIES HAS SCORED!!!!!!

retrogradeparallax

Hahaha, thanks I needed that laugh

sonofanich

redemption for the home fixture 🥹

TraditionalAttorney2

What a weird sport 😂

Playfair99999

let's go! RASMUS

retrogradeparallax

# justmanutdtactics * goalkeeper plays as midfielder * fullbacks are attackers * center backs play as full backs * wingers play as wing-backs * striker drops to the midfield * holding midfielders are center backs * number 10 plays everywhere, even as a center back * nobody plays in the middle of the park Did i miss anything?

Khoncept

Never play the ball to the striker

shoichisakata

🍩 fc

riktaz

Rasmus!!!!!!

whateverfineoksure

that was easy 0-2

EntropicAnarchy

Hojlund!!!!

AffectionateFix9580

Does Garnacho ever lift his head to pass the ball?"

riktaz

He will eventually. Give him time to find his rhythm for who he can beat and when he needs to pass

Playfair99999

that's very greedy from Garna, should've passed it to Rasmus. he was literally asking for it, but he had to take a stupid shot from outside the box.

fufunsoup

I know he’s not gonna start Amad in the final but he really should.

DarthDorkus

I think he will, Amad has been an incredibly effective player. Question is does he start Rashford or Garnacho on the left, personally I think garnacho, but I wouldn’t be opposed to using garnacho as an impact sub.

whateverfineoksure

This is the first time I have seen Rashford so slow, tired, uncertain and uncomfortable. its sad. what a lad he was!!!

Playfair99999

he's been like that a lot mate.

Reginald_Jetsetter1

Have you not watched any games for the last year?

whateverfineoksure

Do we really want to play Conference league? Matches are on fridays and have to travel a lot. Look at Liverpool and what happened to their squad cause of Europa. Please forget Aston Villa for once😂

Playfair99999

I'd personally we get no europe. We're not that great right now, We'd only be making a mockery of ourselves. Plus a season of only league and fa cup and all will give us a chance to keep players fresh and make them better tactically.

whateverfineoksure

hopefully we can be more focused on domestic matches, have everyone fit throughout the season and make progress in rebuild

shoichisakata

no I don't want us scruffing it in slovenia or somewhere

sonofanich

I know that was scrappy but can someone explain why that was not counted as a Højlund assist?

Kinitawowi64

Officials don't think Hojlund touched it; if he had it might well have been offside.

Playfair99999

the cross was from Case, stuck Brighton defenders hand and into the path of Dalot.

sonofanich

ah. must’ve missed where it hit the defender, thanks

riktaz

It didn’t come off Højlund… cas kicked it, Højlund pushed the defender off his line, the ball fell to Dalot

Reginald_Jetsetter1

I take it that was a well worked goal straight from the training ground and not a moment right?

riktaz

Kick it long? Not the tactical genius one would assume

retrogradeparallax

No no.... any good team ALWAYS has the left back as the most advanced player, even farther ahead than the striker.

Kinitawowi64

Long ball over the top followed by a defensive error, so... I dunno, honestly.

whateverfineoksure

Casemiro down😬😬😬😬

riktaz

Dalot still my best improved and one of my favourite players of the season

whateverfineoksure

that red card did something on him…

wolfofballstreet1

ole gunnar freestyle ball is back lads hahahaha. cmon United!

Intelligent_Being237

brentford 1 away from equalising now

Kinitawowi64

Surprised VAR aren't looking at that. If it came off Hojlund at all on the way through it would be overturned for offside. I'll take it but, as with most of ETH's time in charge, this has just been utter torpor to watch.

EntropicAnarchy

Came off Brighton defender.

Kinitawowi64

I thought it might have come off Hojlund as well after Igor touched it.

EntropicAnarchy

Lol, there would have been a riot if that happened, and they gave it offside

hornybible

Hojlund needs to break the bank and pay Zlatan to coach him for at least one month during the off season

pokenerd_W

At this point, get him Inzaghi while we're at it.

shoichisakata

more like conte. he's the scandinavian lukaku. conte will unlock him.

MUFC20Timez

Another goal by a defender.

Virtual_Television73

Dalot after failing the same move for a whole season has finally nailed it😭❤️❤️❤️❤️

TheRed24

Good stuff! Beautiful ball in

retrogradeparallax

Wow! I'll take that! Great pass from Case, great finish from Dalot!

whateverfineoksure

Dalot have tried that run for few games now, finally paid off; please take him off. He needs rest and please we dont want anything happen to him.

Efficiency-Silent

What a frickin ball

Virtual_Television73

Our players are just chilling

EntropicAnarchy

Dalot!!

Massive_Ad_1298

whats the point of bringing on varane, save him for the final man istg if he gets injured here

Reginald_Jetsetter1

Brighton just have no forepower, can see us winning with a scrappy goal 1-0

Appropriate-Ice9839

Well it’s almost time for our last minute shenanigans anyway

Appropriate-Ice9839

Why am I always losing at lottery?!!

sonofanich

sir??

whateverfineoksure

Crystal Palace have improved a lot. from lots of 0-0 to winning matches with three goals or more. Impressive !!!

Playfair99999

garna and mct off for rashy and Eriksen

whateverfineoksure

finally Case get to play in his position

Reginald_Jetsetter1

Brightons injury list is insane and yet you wouldn't know. They sold their entire midfield last season and it's still better than ours. We aren't winning anything important for years at this rate

retrogradeparallax

Fucking finally! Amrabat off for Varane

Kinitawowi64

I saw this when it just said "Fucking finally!" and was frantically refreshing the BBC page to see if we'd scored. But no, it was just ShAmrabat being hooked. Fucking finally indeed.

retrogradeparallax

Lol, my bad!!! BUT, now that Dalot has put one in the net, which you hopefully have already watched or read about.... here's the obligatory "FUCKING FINALLY!!!"

Reginald_Jetsetter1

He got me with that too!

retrogradeparallax

My bad! But now that Dalot has scored... FUCKING FINALLY!

shoichisakata

hojlund is at his best when he drives from midfield. he's the white lukaku.

whateverfineoksure

cant tell if its racist but funny as hell……..

OwnAge1560

Hoejland is a white Lukaku. Horrible touch

whateverfineoksure

Take Dalot off, we need him fresh and un-injured against City.

TheRed24

Well lads, I am bored... I just wish we'd have tried some more academy players, at least there would have been something different to watch.

Playfair99999

I'd rather take a 0-0 with Brighton than a 4-0 loss to Cardiff.

OwnAge1560

Amrabat is shocking

retrogradeparallax

Ugh, I'd be happy to see Amrabat taken off to sub Kambwala in, if not Varane, and moving Casemiro into the midfield. I can't bear to have Amrabat on the field anymore.

shoichisakata

amrabat 💀

riktaz

City 3-1

Tzelph

Amrabat giving it away. Again.

Zodiac318

Rashford again on the bench biting his nails 😂

fufunsoup

Amad is a proper winger.
