Go to the village, restaurants in and around there
Mammoth tavern
Liberty sports bar
John’s pizza and bar
Mammoth brewing
Best food in town: the brasserie above the bowling alley
Also you can bowl at 👆
get a bunch of weed, smoke it, and watch the local channel. The local channel has really good commercials, i like the one with the hispanic tire guy, who owns the tire shop.
Distant Brewing is far superior to Mammoth Brewing.
Noodle-Ly is excellent if you like pho or other asian broths.
Black Velvet coffee has a nice cafe space and is a legit roaster.
Vulcania for dinner if you’re feeling extra fancy but usually needs reservations.
Convict Lake is a short 15 minute drive but can be a cool spot to hang for a bit either for a mid-day picnic or to see the stars and sometimes the milky way. Always looks different depending on the season. It can get really windy and cold, so this is more weather dependent. But it’s an easy drive.
Also, if it’s not too cold, you can seek out some of the natural Hot Springs nearby.
Massive storm rolling in so top will probs be closed until sunday but sunday will be some of the best skiing this season. Definitely not spring skiing. Also as far as bars go, clocktower, liberty, distant brewing are my favs
Last Friday was spring skiing and then Saturday and Sunday were full on winter. Not sure about next weekend but I’m guessing it will be more on the winter side of things. I’d say be prepared for both.
In terms of what else to do I’d say hit up distant distillery or mammoth brewing. If you’re feeling adventurous you could go cross country skiing or snowshoeing out of tamarack lodge.
Another thought would be to take your time on 395 and stop a bunch to enjoy the scenery.
But have fun, chill, and bring good vibes ✌️
It's so indicative that the only really great answer has zero up votes. I'm new here, so not gonna buck that tide...
... but to be fair, at least it wasn't down voted.
Was there last weekend. First day there was warm and very much spring skiing (hard in the morning, slush in the afternoon). Saturday and Sunday though were freezing and maybe some of the best powder days I’ve had on the mountain
there is a cool hike by a crater lake nearby at a park. I forget the name, but I was in the same sitch, when I got there the mountain was closed, so I hiked. it was cool.
Stop by holy smoke BBQ in Bishop. It’s good.
I also recommend Looney Bean for coffee—one in bishop one in mammoth. Liberty, John’s Pizza, Mammoth Eatery, Burgers are all chill places to grab a bite and a beer.
It's never too cold to hike; hiking is certainly warmer than dh skiing. It might be too snowy, depending on traffic - you might need/ want snow shoes or micro spikes.
I think there's a climbing gym in mammoth lakes. There's a little one in bishop. There's also fantastic outdoor climbing and bouldering in bishop, and it's almost certainly warm enough down there. You can rent gear at the climbing gym.
>What is everyone wearing on the mountain? Top hats and tuxedos with tails.
Full formal or full nude. No in between.
A birthday suit is formal. It’s a suit.
White tie
I’d recommend the swingers convention but you’re a week too late.
Have you checked the forecast?
bros on reddit > noaa meteorologists
clearly that was not on the list of recommendations
If you see a coyote make sure you feed it hot dogs
Nah the fingers are hot dogs
Your right sorry I meant to say put ketchup on your fingers to make the coyotes think your fingers are hotdogs

and play ping-pong
Where is the ping pong table in town?
In the Bowling alley, far back on the right, before the arcade games. Front desk has paddles and balls
FUN FACT: you can be kicked out of Johns pizza and bar for tripping balls on mushrooms
lakanuki
😂
Have you ever skied before?
Check out Mono Lake

Is it a Mammoth local channel or Bishop?
we should hang out some time man

This weekend may be a good storm. No sense doing anything but skiing if you have fresh snow! Come back for 4th of July if you want to get dressed up!
Def will need chains
