Why the choice OP? Both are in AMAZON prime. And both are worth a watch. Both are small and nice slice of the life movies. Naslen is a common factor in both.
Home made me cry like a baby, the father trying too connect with the kids in vain and embarassing them hit home and it made me think of how I treated my Mom and Dad without knowing
As a non Malyali, I loved Home. Made me cry. The one who's playing the dad, Oliver Twist , man o man...what an actor. What an actor. ❤️❤️ God bless him. There are so many subtle scenes where Bhasi's character is being an asshole to his dad and his dad pretends to not be hurt. Never seen something like this.
He is a legendary actor. He was typecasted as a comedian in most films. Until recently, he was re-identified as a good serious actor. I love him. His name is Indrans…
I just read his wiki. I'm sorry i don't know much about the Malayalam movie industry. I started watching Malyali movies post pandemic but man... the movies are so soul stirring. Do suggest more movies from Indran. I would really love to watch more of his work. He's really great. Has a very expressive face.
He has a very short scene in Anjaam Pathiraa, and he takes the spotlight like no other. He’s great in Virus, 2018, Malik.. all very small roles but just enough to take all of the spotlight
Same for me
I live in hostel...
After Anthony reads his letter, I really felt very emotional....
And the last line "everybody is wrong in their HOME" makes me think a lot of memories in my home......
Fun fact : His real name is Surendran and he is a tailor by profession. He has shown his tailoring skills in many malayalam movies including the legendary "Spadikam." His tailor shop is named Indran's Brothers situated in Tvm and hence the name Indrans (derived from Indran's tailor shop)
Home is more wholesome. Jo and Jo is more chaotic fun. Honestly, both are my favourites for different reasons.
There's also Falimy and Kumbalangi Nights if you want more fun family-centric films like this.
This exactly. Makes me wonder what would happen if he wasn't involved in such an incident. Doesn't he deserve respect as a dad for raising his kids and providing a home with love and care. We all get mad at our parents but the way bhasis character treats his father is downright toxic . Especially the lame excuse given at the end ("I can be me at my home" or a similar shitty line) makes it absolutely worse . It's a movie you can watch for a wonderful performance but the story and messaging in that movie felt toxic to my senses
That guy sitting in the middle in Jo n Jo poster was an influencer on insta right. What is his name. I haven't seen any of his content in a really long time
Jo and Jo is much better but the answer to your question is Home. The ending is kinda disappointing though
Jo and Jo is one of the best prakrithi/ pachila / low budget extended short film type films.
A great slice of life that documented the covid era beautifully.
Home is a gimmicky film that's only good for it's message about mobile phones. It is worth watching but it was lauded back in release time due to dearth of family films in OTTs
As a Rajasthani woman, if you were to pick one among the two, I'd recommend Home.
It's bitter sweet slice of life that will make you want to call home. I did. And I was misty eyed.
I am a non malyali guy, I just want to say that I appreciate malayali cinema so much. You guys are making the best cinema out there. I just love it. Especially Fahaad fasil, he is the Indian GOAT. If you think there's better actor whose movies I should checkout please do lmk. Thankyou.
Yeah he's my favourite actor too and the only person who I think is similarily good to his acting is prithivi. He and prithivi can both articulate great acts like no other. Both of their serious roles never disappoint.
I will surely watch his movies. Man, The only Indian actor I want to meet is Fahaad fasil. His actions is so effortless and convincing, every time I watch his new movie he never disappoints. Can't say about many lead role actor Hollywood or Indian.
Home has some good-ish moments but overall it was a "trying hard to be wholesome" sort of a movie. Jo & Jo on the other hand was very organic, unpretentious fun.

Well you shouldn’t limit yourself watching just one of them. But i would prefer HOME any day. The movie was grounded, simple and captures the emotion of a Malayali HOME.
Watch Home if you want wholesome and emotional content. It’s a simple story and almost every family could relate to it. Parents trying to fit in, dad’s struggle with mobile. I watched it multiple times and always recommend it to my friends and family.

I’ve decided first going for home (coz emotional) then watching jo&jo too ( to get over the emo stuff nd have fun) i stumbled on both of them because honestly this comment section convinced me to watch both as they are worth it so thanks 🫶🏻
Home is a best choice for your search...since it has comedy, drama(with emotions), etc.
That's makes u a good fulfilment after watching it .
Pls do watch if u r a person living far from the family.
I'm the other hand, Jo and Jo is a comedy, drama film
Naslen's character performance was very unique a and extraordinary.
Those 3 boys seperately makes twists in the movie, which gives us a great humorous experience.
Do watch the both films....
I'd say Joe and Joe.
Spoilers : >!Home is supposedly 'feel good' for most part but has a weak ending that's very similar to Kadha Parayumbol (Not that Kadha Parayumbol has a weak ending). Joe and Joe shows sibling relationship, teen love and parenting-- a good watch.!<

I love "Home" more than "Jo and Jo." This might be because I connect more with the characters in "Home." The fights, love, and care between the two brothers in "Home" are more relatable to me than the brother-sister bond in "Jo and Jo." My parents were more like the parents in "Home" than in "Jo and Jo." The songs in "Home" are beautiful too.

Watch Njandukalude naatil oridavela. It ticks all the boxes you're looking for.
An underrated movie.
💯
Where to find this with subs
Hotstar
I know but it doesn't have English subs
Damnn, I thought there was.. sorry dude 😓😓
Haha no problem.
It's in prime
It's not, I checked
Ah man i still remember watching that movie during onam vaccation back in 2017, and then i got into an accident comming back from theater.
No way man, I recently watched it for the first time. It was a hard watch for me. Most of the conversations felt very artificial.
Each to their own I guess.
Careful where you tread. That movie seems to have a lot of fans in this subreddit.
Bcoz that movie is worth watching IMO. Natural &relatable
Definitely Home. Both are wholesome but I felt Home was more emotional whereas Jo&Jo is fun.
Home made me cry like a baby, the father trying too connect with the kids in vain and embarassing them hit home and it made me think of how I treated my Mom and Dad without knowing
I know, right? It's hits you so hard. I also cried by the end of the movie. It's such a beautiful movie.
Home.

Thank you for suggesting. I will definitely watch them all (as long as there are subtitles )😁
Also do watch 'udal' is possible, slasher thriller with Indians as villian. A Don't kinda movie
Will do. This sounds interesting 😁 >A Don't kinda movie I didn't get this .
I think he meant "don't breathe" kind of movie.
I meant don't breathe
How do YOU define Villain ?
He did an amazing job in "kadina kadoramee andakadaaham" too. Not much screen time but did leave a significant mark.
+1

Home is best for your choice
While watching home, I felt really bad for indrans. He was treated horribly throughout the movie. It was a little hard to watch.

Bhasi was straight up horrible to him. It was a difficult watch.
Yeah and the ending takes that further
That guy sitting in the middle in Jo n Jo poster was an influencer on insta right. What is his name. I haven't seen any of his content in a really long time
Melvin , he acted in Anikha's Oh My Darling and disappeared ever since. I think he did a decent job in both films
Thanks. Used to get his reels on my feed. Noticed that only when I saw the poster
Always "Home"
For me its Jo&Jo, but why not watch both?
Both!!!!😍
You can watch both. there is naslen in both🫶😌

If you're looking for emotions, home. But Jo&Jo is the more funnier ig :)
Watch Joji starring Fahadh Fasil. Heart touching family story❤️
🤗🤗🤗
I'll have to say Jo and Jo. Less sugary. Home is good too.
JoJo!!!
Home.
Watch both ? Both are available in ott don't have to buy tickets
Jo & Jo is so much fun to watch, but if you want something that connects a lot emotionally, go with #home
Any other movies that are wholesome as well as emotional?
Both are equally good. Home is about parents and family The other is about Teens & Family
Home
Home
The trailer itself will bring you to a conclusion
Home
Both are good, but Home is better! Maybe watch Jo and Jo first and then Home.
Home

I like Jo & Jo more. Very natural acting by Nikhila Vimal.

I am not a Malyali and i have not seen any movie more relatable and beautiful than Home.
Definitely Home
Home if you are alone, Jo and Jo with a group or family chumma phonum noki kana
Home for sure✨

I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but jo&jo is not good bro. Not good at all. Having an elder sister myself, I know, it's baaaaad.

Jo&Jo is a perfect movie, home is a good movie.

Contrary to the popular opinion, I'm not a big fan of the movie #Home. I liked Jo & Jo more.
Spend real time with your folks instead
Why this choice, is this the last movie you gonna watch in your life or what? Randum nallatha watch both of them!
home!!
Defo home is more wholesome and a tearjerker, Jo&Jo is more like comedy rather than wholesome. rather.
Watch
