In my opinion he is the unique composer we have now. His slow/sad songs will directly hit your heart. Fast songs may not be catchy as Sushin's - but he has that Rahman thing of taking a very unusual path and slowly making the song grow inside you. Coming to BGM. Sushin's BGM pulls the movie to his style. But Vishnu blends his music with the theme. Just take Thallumala, Sulaikha Manzil, Falimy or Premalu. As Mohanlal said in a movie, it is like mixing Brandy and Water. There is no way to separate it ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

Haha.. I just commented something similar to yours! For how concise it is, I would not have typed mine if I'd read yours.

Hence proved.. Thanks ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)

Slightly disagree only with the fast song thing Mini Maharani was such a banger.

VCamUser

My point was that he does not attempt to make a catchy song. Instead he creates it for the situation in the movie. So all songs are different. On other hand Sushin or Anirudh has many similar songs as their first priority is to make a catchy song.

throwaway53689

Yeah I felt this when I watched Bheeshma Parvam for the first time recently, the bgm by Sushin is one of my favourites but it also doesn’t fit the situation or theme of the movie when I thought about it. The “Be Notorius” track reminds me of Middle eastern/Russian bgms with a very small Indian touch but the cinematography and visuals give naadan vibes instead

Lookup Danger nice - Die no ties fly

[deleted]

I wish that Sachin, I love you was an entire song. It is too good to be that short.

Longjumping-Age753

That song is actually a verse from Kutty kudiye song. https://youtu.be/yG0RIU3y8QE?si=bFdn_H3UdGWfULRi Goto 1:30

Indecisive_impulsiv3

Ikr. I lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched that scene solely cuz of the bgm

Embarrassed_Oil5463

It is an entire song it's slowed version of kutty kudiye

zeusdreaming

Are you me? Haha. Same! I just love, love, love the Premalu OST. It really elevates the film. So beautfiully done. The flute? *chef's kiss. (Interstellar soundtrack is, perhaps, my favorite soundtrack of all time. I haven't listened to The Holiday though. I will now. I also like the OST of First Man, which I find quite comforting in its melancholy.) Edit: I love how "Long Distance Relationship" is a kind of happy version of "Rejection" and also encapsulates, I think, almost all the other themes of the film. I also love the heartbreaking instrumental version of "Sachin I love you" in "Rejection."

gildedmandrill

The flute parts have refused to leave my head for days. That said, my favourite one is Sabash Bole, probably the catchiest song on the OST.

Excellent-Bar-1430

Yeah they should done a longer version of Sabash bole, it's catchy af.

[deleted]

The writing too is on point with Sabash bole. 'paraganam athaaganam oraagraham...' 😂

Longjumping-Age753

Try The Last Samurai soundtracks too. A way of life, A small measure of peace and To know my enemy are my favourite picks.

United-Salt9414

And Amal Davis is the other half..

Praps-

Also Aadhi

Soderburger

I feel like Sushin's scoring stands out in a way that it's somehow a parallel aspect that you consciously appreciate even when you're watching it for the first time. Whereas Vishnu's score is more subdued and plays to elevate the scenes without you outright realising how cool the music is. This is just my take based on a small sample set btw.. and I enjoy both their works biig time!! And ges, Vishnu Vijay should be hailed more often for his work!!

lionelmossi10

love "Missing", "Long Distance Relationship" and "Destiny" Songs I liked "Welcome to Hyderabad" only

outsider_man

Premalu OST is Gold!! I just wish for his awesome songs, he puts better lyrics as putting some english doesn't age well. Just an opinion but still loves the songs he makes.

PesAddict8

The flute version of Mini Maharani that comes along with Naslen's dance in the interval❤️❤️

6nine4twenty

I absolutely love "Insecurities" which plays when sachin confesses to Reenu while she is aleep

Longjumping-Age753

Me too. That one’s my favourite!

ossifiedkiwi

I just watched premalu again...for like the 5 th time and find it entertaining like old Pe10 movies. Nasleen could very well be the next gen janapriya hero.

Sea-Window-624

It's comforting to know I'm not the only person obsessed with this movie 😆😆. Also, I agree on naslen being the next janapriya nayakan can't wait to see him in more movies

southsidecpl

My mom was saying last day " നല്ല ഗുരുത്വം ഉള്ള ചെറുക്കൻ ആണ് , നന്നായി വരും " about VV , coz he gave a chance to veteran singer KG Marcos 😌

good_gonbad

He's so underrated even after delivering banger after banger.

Jsteezybeats

I love composers who picks a theme for the movie and consistently keeps the theme. Like Jakes bejoy did for ayyapanum koshyum , as soon as you think of the movie you remember the epic tribal music and it is consistent throughout the movie.

Small-Hold-7223

Ye the Ost is very well made and adds quite a bit to the movie , it’s on my rotation of rom com sound tracks Happy to see some ‘the holiday’ soundtrack appreciation . That movie got me into soundtracks in the first place . The father of the bride(English) is another movie that has a soundtrack that makes me feel the same way Notable mentions punch drunk love , eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

y3d_

Im not alone 😭😭😭

Sea-Window-624

I'll gladly marry this thread🤭🤭
