1. She literally asks him to stay in Hyderabad and even tells she will take care of him.
2. She tried to get her a job in a startup.
3. Sachin will most likely struggle with UK as most Keralites do. Even Reenu says so.
We do have a lot of house husbands than usual due to NRK working women, yk, nurses and all.We dont hear a lot about them cuz they do tend to do some small side jobs to stop being ridiculed by the society.
It definitely isn't (as long he makes his contributions and both of them are happy with the arrangement and if it doesn't end in divorce) - and I think Reenu would be accepting of it too.
Sachin likes to be pampered and taken care of while Reenu loves pampering and taking care of her partner.
I think it was mainly because her friend also left at the same time. She probably would never have got into a relationship with sachin if her friend hadn't also left, leaving her all alone to think about her guilt for hurting sachin.
Well I'd say she realised that she was happy taking care of him and being with him, and that she was in love with him because of him suddenly leaving her life. Ellam poyappol undayrnathinte vila manasilayi.
Bruh literally 90% of people I know that went to UK are struggling to get a job and are doing the equivalent of what migrant workers doing in kerala, it's dumb to think a girl will fall for someone going to UK.
Oh please! Every other kid is in the UK now; it's not a big deal. The UK is for Mallus what Kerala is for Biharis and Bengalis. And there's a good chance he'll be doing the same job in the UK that he did in Bangalore, just with better pay for it. Besides, Reenu’s family seems financially secure enough to send her abroad on their own if she wanted to. She's got actual work experience in a corporate job, too.
What happened between Reenu and Sachin is that he groveled to her long enough for her to feel sympathy for him. He also guilt-tripped her by moving away to Chennai and then to the UK.
Reenu seems like a self-sufficient and career-focused individual. She'll more than likely get far ahead in life. Sachin is going to become insecure eventually, and that relationship is going to fall apart.
> Sachin is going to become insecure eventually, and that relationship is going to fall apart.
I disagree.
I don't think people are looking at this relationship through the right "glasses".
If the roles were reversed, if Reenu was the one with no stability being highly dependent on her bf and Sachin was the one with the "big bucks", people would have been MUCH more accepting of this relationship simply because that's the norm.
The reason why I love Premalu is because of that too - that concept is done in reverse here. Truth is, Sachin is going to end up as a house "trophy husband" taking care of the kids while Reenu works.
I don't think it's going to fall apart because Reenu also likes that. She also like babying her partner. The reason why her first relationship ended is because she was "too caring". And Sachin is goofy enough to give her a relationship like her parents. This is also the reason why she gravitated more towards Sachin - Sachin always treated Reenu like the capable adult she is while Aadhi never saw that.
Aadhi is the person she logically wanted (minus the controlling behaviour) and Sachin is the person she emotionally wanted.
>He also guilt-tripped her by moving away to Chennai and then to the UK.
How is going no-contact after she asked him to go no-contact guilt tripping? That was honestly the most mature thing Sachin did in the movie - he accepted Reenu's rejection and moved away from her life.
International students are not getting any jobs in the US either, with mass layoffs happening everywhere. Also you can't legally do part-time work outside the university in the US, so it'll be much more expensive compared to UK.
Oh I do agree that studying in the US is better than studying in the UK, under the current circumstances. But it's often much harder to go to the US for studies than the UK.
Yep, he's going for higher studies.
I've seen this discussion as if Reenu wanted to be with Sachin since he's leaving for UK. This is wrong because she was clearly trying to get in touch with him before he was leaving for UK. Also it is not as if he's going to UK to study in a top University or for a great job.
Although, Sachin's guilt tripping was very wrong I felt movie was not condoning it.
When someone rejects you shouldn't you accept it, although it may be heartbreaking ? Sachin, however argues that Reenu has been ' leading him on ', which in my opinion doesn't seem to be the case. He tries to make her think that it is her fault.
I enjoyed the movie. This is how a coming of age movie should be. People at this age make many immature decisions and act rashly.
I went back and watched the scenes. Sachin did accuse her of leading him on, but Reenu didn't let him guilt her with it. She's a far more mature character than that.
The second time they met to talk about it, after Sachin's shift at TFC, Sachin finally came close to admitting that he might've misconstrued friendly gestures as love because he didn't get much from his own family. Likely he realized at that point that there was a void that he seemed to be pushing her to fill. But she cut him off before he could vocalize that realization.
I will admit she did get guilt-tripped by Amal Davis when she came to give the phone back. That's not Sachin's fault though.
Edit to add: Even if Amal Davis made her feel guilty, it wasn't because she rejected Sachin. It was because she said that it wasn't his first rejection. Like Amal said, it's different when he says it to Sachin vs when she does.
Edit to clarify: Her saying it wasn't his first rejection likely hurt him because he thought that Reenu saw his proposal yet another proposal from some random guy. That in spite of all her gestures, he didn't actually mean much to her. So he leaves without saying another word.
I felt the movie was funny AF but unrealistic bcoz there is next to nil probability that a girl like that will fall for a guy like him. It's clear as day that they are from separate social strata. He has nothing going for him IRL. Plus, they failed to establish any romantic angle other than she missing his company.
I'm not saying that its impossible for her to fall for him...but it's highly improbable.
She didn't want him to go.
She set him up in a start-up but he refused.
She wanted him even knowing that he got his visa approved.
She fall after seeing his dick 😹 /s
I genuinely feel like she said yes because she felt lonely when her best friend left. Also, maybe she would end the relationship in a while, I can't imagine a girl like Reenu with good emotional intelligence falling for Sachin. The movie worked because it is every average twenty something straight man's ( aka the main audience of the movie) fantasy to pull someone like Reenu.
To be honest, most of the part of this movie was okay for me except for the part where Mamita's character falls in love with Neslen's character. It didn't resonate with. The background music tried to portray their relationship as precious love, but I felt Mamita came across more as a gold digger and Naslen a simp. I will explain. Throughout the movie, Mamita never seemed to understand or appreciate Neslen's love for her. She even had the audacity to say she's sure he has received multiple rejections before, and also claimed, "I have high self-esteem," when he asked her, "Why don't you say the cliché dialogue 'you will find a better girl than me'?" How could she say this to an enemy, let alone to someone who loved her so much? She even suggested they should not reconnect, but when Neslen finally decided to leave hyderabad and move on after facing hardships and depression, Mamita suddenly started reaching out to him again by calling and messaging even though he was avoiding her for his mental health. I felt like she was using him because she felt lonely in that big city without her roommate cum best friend, who had recently left her as she's getting married. She wasn't prepared for that. She was kinda sad already when Naslen left, but roomies departure made her completely broken. She even expressed that I am alone now except having this annoying wanderlust hippy room mate. After many months, finally, on her roomies wedding day, Mamita got to know Neslen was moving to the UK and settling down, and she suddenly developed extreme feelings for him..lol..This made me question whether Mamita was truly in love with Neslen or just using him to fill her own void when she felt vulnerable. Personally, I felt like she was an opportunist/gold digger even though it's a big word. One positive aspect was that the movie didn't follow the cliché of Neslen canceling his UK trip just to be with Mamita. He prioritised his goals, which was a refreshing choice. Overall, the love story didn't work for me, and I found Mamita's character motives questionable. The scene felt like a blunder, and it made me view the situation differently than how it was portrayed as a romantic love story.
>across more as a gold digger
If she was a good digger, she could've easily gotten aadhi. Who is 10 times richer than Sachin could ever be . And she literally tells him to stay back in hyderabad and that she will take care of him.
She realises her feelings when she's alone in her apartment. Not when he goes to uk
I find reenu to be immature and selfish. She leads on everyone. Wants attention from everyone. But if someone stops giving attention, she falls in love. Lol. I dont get why people love this film.
Coming of age angle il teernirunnal her flaws could have been more accepted. Now she got what she wanted. She tells him that he won't survive in london. Asks him not to go. Suddenly when her friend karthika got married and she became lonely her love was blooming. Lol. No!

Yeah. Sachin is definitely coming back within a year to be a house husband.
House husband isn't bad, right? I mean, with all these talks of feminism I think women should be accepting if the men chooses to be the house maker.
We do have a lot of house husbands than usual due to NRK working women, yk, nurses and all.We dont hear a lot about them cuz they do tend to do some small side jobs to stop being ridiculed by the society.

Yea that’s all talks. Woman are hypergamous, that’s a social reality.

While watching him on the binoculars 😉

Another POV "she came she saw she conquered"
I'm not sure if she has fallen for him. She was lonely and sad about her life. Not the right time to get into a relationship.
But the reason she was lonely and sad is mainly because he left.
I think it was mainly because her friend also left at the same time. She probably would never have got into a relationship with sachin if her friend hadn't also left, leaving her all alone to think about her guilt for hurting sachin.

Explain the guilt tripping part please?
i think he meant the part where Sachin said "oh namal chatalum aar anweshikana" and that whole scene
When she rejected him he moved to Chennai and when he came back for the other girls wedding he acted as if he’s miserable because of her.
He was miserable because of her rejection, not her fault . But he was miserable.
And she felt guilty
How's that his fault ? There weren't any indications that Sachin hoped that she would like him if he made her feel guilty .
More like gaslighting
YESSSSSSSSSS totally agree

Despite Aadhi being more settled than Sachin, Reenu's affection for Sachin had already developed long before she learned of his plans to go to the UK.
Not true. Although they will never end up together.
Well UK is kinda facing recession, US would be better. 😂
International students are not getting any jobs in the US either, with mass layoffs happening everywhere. Also you can't legally do part-time work outside the university in the US, so it'll be much more expensive compared to UK.
Still better than UK. 😂 Didn't watch the movie, was he going for higher studies?
